IOS 7 "Trust this computer " failing to connect to Itunes

Hello, I have a iphone4s on IOS7 and when i connect to my Notebook it says" trust this PC"and i click yes and it doesn't connect i can hear Windows connect to the phone then when i hit trust it connects and disconnects me. When i look at my PC control panel it says "external driver" so i know my wire isn't damaged.  I don't know why apple added such bad software thats un-needed i have seen lots of posts just like this but i dont want to completely restore my iphone and i have Itunes 11.3 i have removed and installed 2 times now. If anyone can help that would be great

Hello there Ali2627,
It sounds like your phone is not staying connected after you tap to Trust the Computer so you cannot use it with your computer. I would use the troubleshooting in the following article to help resolve the issue:
iTunes: Resolve USB-related alerts
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5254?viewlocale=en_US
See if the cable connection at the device or computer has come loose or unplugged.
Unplug the cable you're using to connect your iOS device from the USB port on your computer, and then reconnect it. Then unplug it from your iOS device, and reconnect it.
Remove any third-party battery packs or cases from the device and ensure that the USB cable is connected directly to the port on the device.
If your Lightning or 30-pin cable is connected to a keyboard, display or USB hub, try plugging it directly into a USB port on the computer instead.
Close any virtualization apps (such as Parallels or VMWare).
These apps may interfere with your computer's ability to communicate over USB if they aren't properly configured, or up to date. If this resolves the issue, contact the developer of the app to see if an update is available.
Restart your computer.
Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
If you're using an accessory or third-party cable to connect your device, try using an Apple cable with the device instead.
Update to the latest version of iTunes if you haven't already.
Disconnect other USB devices from your computer, except for your keyboard and mouse. Then, reconnect your iOS device. If the issue is resolved, reconnect the other USB devices one at a time. Make sure your iOS device is still recognized by the computer after adding back each device.
If one of these steps resolves the issue, but it comes back later, make sure you haven't changed how the device is connected. For example, check to see if you plugged the device into a specific accessory, or used a specific cable that reintroduced the issue.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
Regards,
Sterling

  • IPhone with IOS "Trust this computer" keeps popping up

I have upgraded to ios 7 on my iphone, but when I now connect my phone to my car (ipod connectivity) it pops up with the "Trust this computer" box! but disappears quickly and then keeps popping up and disappearing.  I don't even have time to click TRUST!!!!
After a couple of tries the car says there was an error and stops trying.  What the **** is going on!
If no one knows, maybe you can tell me how to downgrade/restore to ios 7 as without this connectivity I can't listen to my music in the car?

I finally fixed it!  Don't know really how but here goes what I did.
You all agreed that before IOS7, by simply plug usb cable between PC and iphone that was it?!
Updated to IOS7, liked it a little, noticed slowness, but was fairly acceptable. My problem started when I was not able to sync my outlook calendar, contacts, etc. to my phone then I freaked out, because kept having this "do you trust this computer again and again when I clicked Trust.... got me crazy.
Someone told me to use iCloud. Did, but I can check my Iphone contacts on a website! not what I was looking for. Then I downloaded ICloud for windows, so I can sync (another procedure) to my outlook. Ran it, restarted, found that my wlan card was disabled, fixed it, restarted (anxious), when back, checked some changes made in outlook, more folders and buttons, but it seemed to work.
I plugged the usb cable and iphone to my pc and Viola! they synchonized!! via usb cable!!
was it the cable? the icloud installation? the rebooting? don't really know, but it works now...
I was this close to return to IOS6 by doing all those creepy steps, but it is ok now...
Please let  know if it work for you guys!!
    cheers!
    Manny

  • Iphone repeatedly asks "trust this computer?" when connected to pc

Whenever I connect my iPhone 5 to my work PC in order to charge it, it repeatedly asks the question "Trust this computer?" to the point of extreme annoyance. I always hit "trust", and it just keeps on asking. Is there any way I can make this go away?
    Thanks.

It appears that my problem was my lightning to usb cable. Using a different cable on my work PC, I'm not seeing this problem.

  • HT1296 I upgraded my 4s to 5s.  When I plug the phone into my mac, I get a message asking if I trust this computer.  No matter how many times I hit "Trust", I get an error message "You do not have permission".  What do I do?

  • HT1414 iphone keeps asking do i trust this computer

everytime i connct my iphone 5 to my pc ( windows 8.1) th phone askes me do i trust this computer which is preventing me from connecting to itunes i have tried putting it in recovery mode and dfu mode but they dont work.
    please help.

I experienced the same issue after my latest iTunes update - my iPhone 5 would charge but every hookup prompted the "do you trust this computer" question, and (more problematically) iTunes would not recognize my iPhone.  After doing alot of reading and trying several interim solutions, I cut to the chase.  On my Win7 PC I went to Control Panel / Programs and Features and sorted the program list by Publisher.  One by one I right-clicked on and then uninstalled everything published by Apple - everything.
Then I closed the Control Panel and went to My Computer / C: drive and searched for any folders, sub-folders, or files tagged to Apple.  There were none but if there had been I would have deleted them as well.  Then I restarted my PC and downloaded a fresh iTunes installer.  I ran it without plugging in my iPhone and when completed I started iTunes and when it finished loading I plugged in my iPhone.  I immediately got a Win7 popup as the computer searched for the appropriate device driver for the iPhone.  I let it run and after a few minutes it found and installed the driver.  I got the "trust" popup on my iPhone, said yes, and - voila - my iPhone appeared in iTunes.
I tested it by disconnecting the iPhone and shutting down iTunes, then plugged in the iPhone again.  No "trust" question, iTunes loaded automatically, and my iPhone was there and I was able to do a backup.
IMHO a bit of swatting flies with sledgehammers but it worked!

  • My iphone 4 will not open in itunes windows. when i try to connect my phone displays a message asking if i trust this computer.

my iphone will noy open in windows. when itry to connect my phone displays the message. Trust this computer? your settings and data will be accessible from this computer when connected.

Well, you downloaded a bootleg copy of iOS 7 beta and have installed it on your phone without being a developer. It has bricked your phone and you cannot get help here because doing what you did has voided your warranty. Have a nice day.

  • "Trust This Computer" Keeps Popping Up Every Time iPhone Is Connected to MBP

    Hi,
I found this question of the forum in relation to Windows computer, but not in relation to a Mac (especially, I did not find a solution).
The issue: every time I connect my iPhone (6 Plus, current iOS 8.2.) to my MBP (Mid-2012 13'', current Mac OS X 10.10.2) I am getting the "Trust This Computer" message, despite that I have trusted the computer (like twice daily, about 500 times) already. According to 'Trust This Computer' alert on iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support the iPhone should only ask me once per computer.
What I have done so far:
    - updated iPhone from iOS 7 to iOS 8 (and within 7 and 8)
    - updated Mac OS X from Mavericks to Yosemite (and within 7 and 8).
    - replaced the cable twice (both Apple, from Apple Store, Australia)
    - reinstalled Yosemite (for other reasons)
    - repaired file permissions on Yosemite (got this from this forum)
    - tried different USB ports
Nada, still asking me. In addition to the annoyance, it is the also apparently not syncing with iTunes.
Do I have options left to make the issue go away?
    Thank you for your help!

This just started happening to me after I updated to 8.3.
I haven't had this problem for a very long time.  Now, every time I plug into my Mac, 10.10.3, I get this message.  I tap on 'trust' each time but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

  • HT5868 My iphone 5 with ios 7 stopped promting me to "trust this computer" and wont charge from USB ports now

My iphone 5 with ios 7 stopped promting me to "trust this computer" 1 day ago after doing it everytime i plugged it in to a USB port on my work laptop. It will now no longer charge from any of the USB ports. The USB ports work fine on the laptop for other devices and my phone will prompt me and charge at any other computer in my office. I possibly hit do not trust by accident which may have caused this. I reset all settings on the phone and rebooted my laptop and none of this fixed the issue. Phone syncs and charges fine at home and there were no issues with my work laptop up until 2 days ago with prompts or charging. Any ideas??

    Hi,
I'm new on this forum and with my iphone 5c.
'Till some days ago I had a Windows Vista pc and when I connected the iphone, it was recognized.
Yesterday I decided to change my SO in Linux Ubuntu 13.04 but now my iphone isn't recognized and I'm not able to use it.
This message appears on my iphone
"Trust This Computer? Your settings and data will be accessible from this computer when connected via USB or Wi-Fi. [Trust] [Don't Trust]"
I clicked Trust but the iphone buzzes twice, then repeats the prompt. This will repeat endlessly.
I read a lot about the bug, but is there any solutions waiting for the resolution of bug?
    I can't use my iphone!!!!

  • My ipad asks me repeatedly if I want to "trust this computer" whenever I plug it in to my desktop PC and I can't get it to just connect and be able to sync or access files.

Whenever I plug my iPad into my desktop PC (windows 8.1), the "trust this computer?" popup keeps displaying on my iPad. I tap it but it just beeps and a few moments later it shows up again. Meanwhile, itunes keeps giving me error messages and giving me the message "Do you want to allow this computer to access information on this ipad?" I click continue but the ipad keeps giving me the trust this computer message every 3 seconds. I've never been able to sync this ipad with my computer yet because of this problem. Any suggestions?

I finally was able to solve my problem. I'm not sure why it happened but after updating my iPad to the most recent iOS, it works just fine. I had iOS 8 before, but it was the first release, not the update. I have the latest iTunes on my computer so maybe they weren't compatible. Anyway, if anyone else is having this problem, make sure everything is up to date.

Hmm.. Maybe you should authorize your pc in itunes.
Here is how to do that:
    Authorize Your Computer in iTunes
    1. Download the latest version of iTunes that's appropriate for your computer from theiTunes website. Try to avoid signing up for Apple's newsletter.
    2. Click the Store menu, and then select Authorize This Computer.
    3. A window will prompt you for your Apple ID and password. Fill in the appropriate information, and then click Authorize.
    4. After your submission, your computer will be authorized for playback, and a dialog box will indicate how many computers you have currently authorized to access your Apple account. If you have reached your limit, it's time to deauthorize another machine.
