IOS 7 Update loses lots of things

When I updated to IOS 7 on my iPhone 4 it lost it...
1. my outgoing mail server "failed" even though all the settings are the same as before the update and it worked fine before.
2. My Bluetooth connection to my car, haven't re-paired that yet.
3. Typing 'messages' is slow as keyboard is slow to respond
4. Opening apps also slow to respond
5. Device has frozen several times in different apps
I'm sure there is more gliches. It appears things were not worked out very well before launching the product. I also do not like the new look. It's simplicity seems childish and not sophisticated like the previous look. I have loved my Apple devices until this happened. Not so sure now!

I updated one of my ipads earlier today and it did the same thing. I was working and forgot about it and when I came back to it a few hours later it was finishing with the update. I can only assume that everyone around the world is updating iphones, ipads, and ipod touches at the same time which is bogging down the servers. Hopefully it has worked out for you by now!!

Unless you can move/copy the iPod backup file to the new computer you will loose all app data and restore from that backup. That file is located:
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\

Try a Reboot pess & hold power button & menu button hold both down until you see Apple Logo you will not lose any data This may help but the ipad 2 is a bit under powered for iOS 8 If you can a very good buy now is the iPad Air 32G Since they brought the new one out the price for this model Has come down by £120.00 That's the one I am using and it works great on iOS 8.1 Bsydd uk

I have tried direct connecting the iphone 4, via wifi, everything. I hate itunes with a passion, but it seems to be a necessary evil. I dont know why I would have no trouble with my iphone 3. I am using the same technique for both phones. Find the music I want in the library and drag it to the iphone. Works on IOS 6, not IOS 7.
WHat else should I try?

If you are having issues dragging music to your iPhone 4 after a recent upgrade to iOS 7, you may want to verify that the phone is still set to "Manually manage music and videos." You may find the following article helpful:

My iPhone 4S camera needs a lot of time to open, after the latest two iOS 6 updates, help?

Whenever I tap on the camera app, it opens, but I can't take any pictures! It only shows a black screen ( the one that appears when you switch from camera to video) but it doesn't open and it doesn't show the scene or whatever is in front of the camera.
That is really annoying, it started to happen after that major update that took a lot of time (the first iOS 6 update) and continued after the second,I thought that the second would fix it but it didn't.
I'm using an iPhone 4S.
Did this happen to anyone else? If so how did you fix it? -if you did-

Try resetting your phone by holding down the home and off button until the apple symbol comes up. Then if still doing, restore your phone in itunes from your backup.

Sorry but Apple doesn't support downgrading.
There are a few things you can do to help change the appearance. You can go to settings, general, accessibility and adjust the contrast, text size, bold the text. You can also adjust the brightness in the control panel. Maybe this will make it a little better looking for you.

Lost a lot of info due to ios 5 update

Tried to update a phone with the ios 5 update - the back up messed up and erased 3 months worth of voice memos, texts, phone numbers, and pictures. Tried iExplorer (nothing is there for those 3 months). Tried resetting to iCloud back up restoration. Nothing. Tried normal back up. Nothing. I've searched in forums on at least 10 websites to see how to fix this and nothing is helping. These last 3 months worth of things are important and yes I understand they should have been backed up sooner - but they weren't so get over it. IF there is a solution please let me know. Otherwise - don't remind me that updates need to be done more often.

Unfortunately that didn't work. I did it a few times, I tried making sure iCloud was properly set up. I was on the phone with Apple over this issue. And sadly - the photos, the data, EVERYTHING from August till the day I backed up the phone - was erased. I tried resetting, I tried iExplorer, I tried seeing if I personally had anything that she had sent, I called Apple, I tried some other weird funky things people posted. Nothing worked at all. And yes...

But when you're a single mother, with a 1 year old, holding down a full time job, and trying to keep a household in order...let me know... I just updated an iPad first generation (iPad 1) and I was going to scream as my Mac Pro iTunes showed no music, videos or photos.
I was luckily surprised to see that my Apps were kept in their own folders. (I have close to 250)
I disconnected the iPad.
Opened the new 'Music' app and it said 'No Music'.
Opened the new 'Videos' app and it said 'No Videos'.
I was very frustrated. I re-connected the iPad to my computer and I saw the music and video playlists in my Mac Pro iTunes. I could play the vidos and music from my desktop computer, but I could not find any in my iPad (iTunes was showing all of it was there, just not the iPad)
As I started to write feedback to Apple and trying to do some screenshots in my iPad, I suddenly saw that some playlists showed up. Then the videos showed up. I would say that it seemed like maybe the iPad and iTunes try to do some checking or sync in the background and suddenly somethings just show up. I am not sure if this is what happens or not.
Currently, many of my songs are missing their album artwork (album covers) in the 'Music' app. I can see these album covers in my desktop iTunes. I know that these songs are from my personal CD's I have ripped or Music I have downloaded from other services. Like I said, the artworks is showing fine in iTunes, and was showing fine previous to the iOS 5 update, so what's wrong?

p.s. By the way, very annoyed that 'Newsstand' is an App you cannot drop inside a folder or group. iBooks, Messages, Reminders and AirPort Utility can be dropped inside folders/groups, why does Newsstand has to be a top icon?

on Mac Pro running 10.6.8 (I'll have to wait more reports or more solid Lion, Maybe I'll update when Wolverine is here ;-)

i have 3 problems listed below while using iphone 4s with ios 5.1 version
1. The screen goes blank(dark screen) when i try to call back (i.e redialing 2-3 times). then i have to press home button and once again i have to press call button(sometimes green layer which will be on top of the screen) and press red button to close the call and try once again.
2. Sometimes my network drop zero then start searching network then display no service for few second and then the network once again appear (no issue with the network provider i checked with other phone which is working fine)
3. When there is incoming call the people on the other end of the call (caller and not me) cant hear for first 2-5 sec (i did a count..ha..ah) they wont be able hear.
Is it clear now buddy....

After IOS 8 update, cannot install or update app

As my subject mentioned, after the ios 8 update, i cannot install or update app. I have done everything like calling the tech support, follow their instructions etc.. Some of the things i had done were
Soft reset ipad
Hard reset ipad
logout of itune store and login
delete everything on ipad and restore from itunes.
All these doesn't work and the problem keeps coming back again. This is frustrating that Apple would release an update like this that would break my ipad air. On top of that, quite a lot of app are not working eg zinio, evernote. My ipad air has been in this mode eversince the update release and i had mostly given up to resolve it. For all other ipad owners, if you want to avoid this anguish don't update to ios 8.

ITunes no longer syncs to iPhone or iPad after iOS security update

I did the iOS security update on my iPhone 5 and my iPad Air. Now, iTunes will not sync with either device - neither one. In both cases, I get the error message "iPhone5 (or iPad) can not be synced. An unknown error occured (1140)."
I then did the iTunes update that just came out - still the same problem.
The Mac is a MacBook Pro 2.4 GHz Intel Core 7 running OSX 10.7.5. Everything worked fine before the iOS security update.
What is going on? What to do?

Finally, I had time to do a on-line support session with the Apple Care help people (excellent). We went through and verified a lot of things. Finally, he had me run the disk utility and run "repair disk permissions". That resolved things and it works now.
Also related is that the iOS 7.1 update installed a lot of stuff on the iPhone - including iMovie, Numbers, Pages, Keynotes - stuff that I will use on the iPad but not on the iPhone. The result of automatically installing all these things on the iPhone was to but it way over the limit on memory. I deselected thos apps (and a few others) plus some movies and am now below the memory limit on the iPhone.
Things are now working well with both the iPhone and iPad - both syncing correctly. So, with that, I will close out this case.
