IOS 7 update. Screen frozen.
I updated my iPad from the ipad settings and just did the update it selected. I have a iPad 2. It finished the download, but the screen is now stuck on the iTunes logo with a white cord pictured below it. I turned it off and on and it remains like this. I cannot get it to do anything. Not seen as a plug in on windows on my computer or on iTunes. Help

After iOS update, screen too long??
Not sure the best way to word this, but it's been only today that this has been happening. The bottom and edges of my screen are cut off, and it's only been since this latest iOS update. It's like they're expecting my screen to be longer? Sometimes it autocorrects it and bounces back but it's messing with my typing and everything, posting double letters and not letting me edit pictures. What is going on???
Try:
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

Make sure you have the Latest Version of iTunes (v11) Installed on your computer
iTunes free download from www.itunes.com/download
If the issue persists...
Then a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is the Next Step...

The update to iOS 7 is frozen at the Terms and Conditions page and will not move, no matter what I click on. I cannot access my iPad as it is frozen on this screen. How do I remedy this nightmare?
Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Then try updating the software again.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
No data is lost due to a reset.

I am using an IPad 4 and I was notified of an IOS update. When the update started the screen froze displaying a zipper from the bottom with an arrow above that and an itunes icon above that. IPad will not do anything.
You are in Recovery Mode. Follow step 1 to 6 closely to recover your iPad.

The following is how to do a proper reset of an iDevice:
Device Reset (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)
1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.
2. Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
3. Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally. -
I thought I was updating my IPad, i selected update and came back home to the screen frozen with the Itunes symbol and a plug in cord displayed. I can not get it to do anything. Any suggestions?

My software update screen has been frozen for weeks now and I can't update any software or even close the automatic update screen. It says searching for updates and I can't cancel or do anything. Any help is greatly appreciated.
You cannot update iPhone 4 to IOS 8.1.2, the highest you can update is IOS 7.1.2.

An update from Apple appeared on my iPhone so I downloaded it, it was an IOS update. The screen said to swipe to open, then enter a 4 digit number, which I did then it went to a screen asking for my network info which I entered (except I guessed at the security as being "WPA2", I have not idea, I entered my password and now the only screen that will appear is one stating it is Joining my stated Network??? but nothing is happening and I can't use any of my iPhone features at all? Help
Go back to the previous page. If there's no available wireless networks listed except "Other" which is manually putting the wireless network information, see if you have "activate using cellular" or "connect to iTunes" option.

My ios update keeps getting stuck on the Restoring iPhone software stage. I uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled it again, but still nothing. Now I can't even use my phone as it shows the plug into iTunes screen. Please help!!!! Thanks,
A Restore first downloads a new copy of iOS to your computer. On a slow Internet connection this can take a long time. How fast is your connection? How long would you expect it to take to download 900 MB?
That's assuming nothing is interfering with the download. Some firewalls and antivirus programs will block the download or slow it down. So you should temporarily disable your security software. Security software can also block the update after the iOS download is complete. -
Hello, so today I realized that my iPhone with iOS 6 is frozen on the music. I can get back to the home screen but I can't get the music player to work because its frozen on the w's and will not respond to touch. I would be grateful for any help on this.
Hi deamayfield,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If your Music app is unresponsive, try restarting/resetting your iPhone:

I have downloaded an iOS update on my iPad air2 but it has locked the screen and I can only see the iTunes symbol with a white arrow and a padlock below it. I have tried turning the iPad off and on but the same screen reappears. Has anyone had a similar problem?
What that symbol indicates is that your iPad has gone into recovery mode and now it needs to be restored in order for you to be able to use it again. You can reboot from now until the cows come home and it will not do any good.
You do indeed need to plug your iPad into your computer and use iTunes to restore the device.

IPad2 - IOS 8.0.2 - Available Updates Screen Doesn't Refresh
Just took my IPad2 which was already running slow after the 8.0 update to 8.0.2
So far things seem okay but I have three App updates which have synced to the IPad2 but when you go into the Available Updates screen they all have the OPEN button across from the App description and Update All in the upper left hand corner of the screen is grayed out.
This was not an issue in 8.0
Anyone else seeing this and/or have a fix?
Thanks...DaveIOs8 slowed and glitched many Apple devices from newer iPhones to the ipad2. My iPad suffered connectivity issues, and odd mail and airplane mode problems. The 8.0.2 patch was just released, and I made the error of installing it. USE CAUTION if you do this. My iPad2 crashed while installing the patch for the troublesome ios8 and is now frozen in recovery mode. I do not have an Apple computer to synch it to, thus negating the restore mode / iTunes option. It won't accept a hard reset. I have a cloud backup but without a USB / lightning cord and a computer synched to my ipad2 I cannot solve this. Apple support is closed, and in any case will charge a fee to simply open a service *conversation* with no guarantee it will solve the issue. I am sadly disappointed in Apple for this rollout, especially in light of their recent problems regarding security and neglecting known issues.

Second screen for MacBook Pro with new IOS update?
I have a second screen for my MacBook Pro and after doing the IOS update it does not work. I went to preferences and it does not appear as an available display.
No can't be done.
I would like to see the links to anyone that says it can. So please post one or 2 of them. Thanks. -
IiPad reply screen disappears behind keyboard. This happens on a long message in email and I need to type "blind" if the message is even medium long. How do I get the typed area to scroll up as it did before the latest IOS update?
I,m having and identical problem. In fact when I went to type this my split keyboard is dead center on the page.
When I hold down the button on the bottom right corner when I'm in split mode I get the option to Dock and Merge or just to Merge. There is no option where the keyboard stays split once it's been docked and merged.
Help! I have small hands and it's so much easier to type in split screen.
Thanks.
