Ios 7 + vehicle bluetooth

I'm having trouble connecting to the bluetooth in my car now that my iphone 5 has iOS 7. When my phone does connect and I'm using the music app, I can no longer use the controls in my car/on my steering wheel to change the songs. I also used to be able to double click the home button on my phone and the music controls would come up on the lock screen and they were useable. Now, I swipe up and they come up in my command centre but they don't respond. SUPER FRUSTRATING - especially when driving!!

should be fine on all devices but Apple. Just pair your phone with the car.

Why doesn't bluetooth sync with my Acura MDX anymore with IOS 7? I had no problem with the old IOS.

It sounds like after updating to iOS 7, you are not able to connect to yoru vehicle bluetooth. I found this article for you to help troubleshoot the issue named:

Check that you are in range of the Bluetooth device with which you are trying to pair your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Most Bluetooth devices have a range of approximately 30 feet.
On your iOS device, tap Settings > Bluetooth and find your device in the list. If your device says Not Connected, tap the name of your device to attempt to connect it.
Tap Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth off and then on again.
Make sure that your Bluetooth accessory is turned on and fully charged or connected to power.
Restart your iOS device.
Tap Settings > Bluetooth and locate the Bluetooth accessory you are currently connected to or attempting to connect to. Then tap and Forget this Device. Try to pair your Bluetooth accessory again.
Note: You may need to re-enter your Bluetooth accessory PIN if your accessory requires one. Some common PINs are 0000, 1111, and 1234.
Restart your Bluetooth accessory by turning it off and then on again1.
Update your device to the latest version of software. See how to update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
If your Bluetooth accessory has upgradeable firmware, check to see that you have the latest version1, 2.

I have a similar problem. I restored my iPhone 5 to the latest available OS. After completing the process the phone never restarted. The phone was fully charged when I restored it but now refuses to charge past the red battery icon. I have been able to get the phone in UFD mode several times and have been able to load the new OS on the phone. The Apple logo does come on and the software fully loads. iTunes tells me the phone will restart but never does. I left it to charge all night but it never appeared to load the battery. This morning I went to the Grand Central Terminal apple store for help. A woman at the store plugged the phone in but it never charged. She absolutely refused to believe that I got my phone in UFD mode and loaded any software on. I don't think it is a battery issue. The only solution I was given was to buy a new phone. Repairing it was out of the question. At this point the phone is completely useless. Thanks in advance for the help.

IOS 7 bluetooth not working properly ipad and iPhone

Since upgrading to iOS 7 Bluetooth is not working fully on either ipad or iphone.
What will work ....
BT turns on and off OK
Personal hotspot will work ok and when in use the two devices show each other as connected via BT
Apple keyboard is recognised and connects oK
What does not work,...
If BT is turned on the devices will not find one another, even though they are both showing they are discoverable. They spend for ever trying to discover ANY device and find nothing.
Tried with a device on iOS 6xx and still no discovery
Tried with the Phototransfer app that has always worked fine via BT - it will no longer connect over BT.

It certainly does work for myself and millions of others.
Has the basic troubleshooting of reset, restart, and restore been tried?
What about Settings > General > Bluetooth > select device > Forget this device?

IOS 6, Bluetooth, and iPhone 4

When I originally purchased my iPhone 4, it did not properly pair via Bluetooth with my 2008 Infiniti FX 35 for hands-free calling. It wouldn't maintain a connection. Now with the iOS 6 update, the phone seems to pair with the car and maintain the connection. I've dialed out using hands-free without any issue thus far. I have not however received a call to test the connection. Has anyone else experienced this improvement with pairing with that particular phone and car?
This question is more for Apple: if in fact the Bluetooth now works with my vehicle as it should, that suggests the issue was with the software on the phone all along which begs the question, why wasn't this fixed sooner?!

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

IPhone 6 will not connect to my vehicle bluetooth

My new iPhone 6 (64GB) will not connect to my Land Rover bluetooth. iPhone6 will play music but will not perform any phone functions like it's supposed to when connected. Apple forums say it is an iPhone 6 or IOS 8 problem. My current iOS is 8.1.2 and up to date. My iPhone 5 had no issues but used iOS 7. The phone recognizes and finds the Land Rover bluetooth signal but the vehicle does not locate the phone bluetooth signal in order to pair. I have made sure my bluetooth is on and functioning. I have restarted the phone and the car. I have reset network settings and restarted the phone and the car like previous forums recommend with no success.

Does your iPhone 6 connect to any other Bluetooth device (speakers, headset, photo kiosks)?
What's the current firmware version of the Bluetooth in the vehicle?

Ipad IOS 8 Bluetooth speakers no longer work

Upgraded Ipad 3 to IOS 8 and Boston Acoustics Bluetooth speakers no longer work. The speakers pair with the Ipad, but connection drops when opening any app that attempts to use the bluetooth connection. Seems like the updated IOS blutooth driver is the problem. I tested with Iphone 4, Iphone 5, ipad 2 running IOS 7
and all work fine. Tested with Iphone 6 plus, Ipad 3, Ipad 2 using IOS 8 and none of the IOS 8 devices work... Also did the IOS 8 patch and did not fix this issue.
The Boston Acoustics Speakers supports Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR, A2DP v1.2
Seems like Apple can't get the wireless side right, IOS 6 had issues with Wifi and Bluetooth muting, that was corrected in IOS 7, now another wireless problem that makes these $350 speakers a boat anchor..... and not usable.
Perhaps they need to hire some RF / Wireless engineers and do a better job of regression testing... I am a wireless engineer and know that we never make hardware or software upgrades without extensive inter op testing and friendly user trials...

I have this same exact issue with my Boston Acoustics SoundWare XS Digital Cinema 2.1 system. Any other device can connect just fine including all of my previous iPhones and Android devices, but my new iPhone 6 will not keep the connection. Strange because the iPhone 6 will connect and work perfectly fine with my Plantronics Voyager Legend and my JBL Flip bluetooth. What happened guys, Mr. Jobs passed and you all forgot how to do proper QA? This type of foolishness is expected from Microsoft, not Apple.

Ios 8 Bluetooth Sync with My Ford Touch issues. Phone calls????

I own a Ford dealership and I just got the new iphone 6 yesterday and I try to hook it up with any of my Ford or Lincoln cars with My Ford touch with version 3.6 and all I can do it bluetooth audio. When I make a call It will not go through the car. Sometimes even freezes the screen on dash. I click on my phone where you can choose between SYNC, IPHONE, or SPEAKER and they seem dim gray color. Unlike the button below that says cancel that is bright white. Weird. Have anyone found anything out?

This won't help you fix the problem but may help narrow it down. I have a 2013 Ford Fusion that has been updated to version 3.6 and my iPhone works with it. I don't have an iPhone 6 to test it but it does work with an iPhone 5s which is running iOS 8.

IOS 5 Bluetooth Keyboard Bug

I have the Boxwave Keyboard Buddy Case and when I am in the Messages app, it seems to think the virtual keyboard is there, but really isn't.......I can't see the vKB....its just a blank space...this happens up to 5.1.1, but didn't happen before iOS 5.....if I start to scroll the mesages the all appear, but the little scroll bar on the right starts above where the vKB should be....this doesn't happen all the time....and it you scroll the missing keyboard away it goes back to normal and they start at the bottom. not top...but comes back after a while....normally when the spot to type is selected and it rotates to portrait, then back to landscape....and I send a message, the message I just sent goes to the top pushing all other messages out of view....thanks for your help...hope apple fixes it someday....not a big bug though...

No bluetooth detection at all, between my iPad, my iPhone 3GS, my iPhone 4S, and all other bluetooth devices !!!!
Apple do something quickly to fix that please, any other people can confirm this major bug ??

I'm having the same exact problem connecting my iPhone 6 Plus AND my iPad Air 2 to my Windows 7 PC ever since installing iOS 8.2. I am getting the same thing with the wheel by "Other devices" spinning continuously. I even get a pairing code from the PC, but I get a message on both the iPad and iPhone that they can't connect. Both devices can connect to a Bluetooth speaker and my iPhone is able to connect to my car, a Honda CR-V.
