Well that is likely to be your problem. After the upgrade the phone locked to the orginal carrier. You will need to find out who that was and either use a compatible SIM from that carrier or have that carrier offically unlock the phone

It's a known issue. You do have more control if you go into the photos app, resize etc and then send it to your wallpaper. It wont' be perfect, but better.

I just updated to iOS 8 on my iPad 2 and got an error then factory reset! Now I cannot see my Purchased Apps

I just updated to iOS 8 on my iPad 2 and due to a unforeseen error on iTunes I had to do factory reset. I was using my friend's iMac iTunes to download and update, instead of OTA. Now I'm unable to see my previously purchased apps (some even discontinued that I was hanging on to as they still kind of worked)... Even after I logged into App store on my iPad (tried restoring iCloud and iTunes but no luck, somehow there isn't any backup)! I checked my App Store updates/purchases and see nothing. A forum suggested I try buying it anyway and it will say I already have it and not double charge, but I don't want to take that chance as most of these apps are over $4. I have receipts for all my purchases. Please help!

When you do an update via a computer's iTunes the update process will backup the device (a backup doesn't contain the actual apps, just their content/settings), wipe the device, install the update, and then restore the backup - the restore would look to pick up your apps, music, films etc from the iTunes library.
You've tried logging out (tap on your id at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app) and back in and seeing if they then show in the Purchased tab, and you could also check to see if the apps are hidden from Purchased : iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases.
If an app is no longer in the store then you won't be able to redownload it. You haven't got copies of your apps in your own computer's iTunes library and/or on your backup of your downloads/library ?

I have an 10x14" InDesign image that I'd like to shrink to fit within a 8.5x11 printed document.

I have an 10"x14" InDesign image that I'd like to shrink to fit within a 8.5"x11" printed document (using InDesign) without losing the quality of the image (especially on print). What is the correct/least destructive process to do this?
And how is it that you can view different image sizes on Flickr (of the same image) and it doesn't seem to effect the quality of the image?
I have tried saving/exporting the InDesign image as an EPS file, then opening the file in Photoshop, adjusting the size to my liking, saving it as a Photoshop file, then placing that file in a new InDesign document, and the image comes up distorted looking/pixelated even with my screen zoomed at 100%. I've also tried this same process with exporting it as a PDF file instead of an EPS file with the same distorted/pixelated results.
Help!?!?! Thank you in advance!!

I am assuming you are in InDesign CS5:
Change your InDesign Document Size, but before you do this you must make sure the "Enable Layout Adustment" is on.
Under: Layout/Layout Adjustment/Check the "Enable Layout Adjustment" box is checked and adjust Snap Zone.
ALSO: Make sure your horizontal and vertical margins touches your live area.
Then you can change size of document

I have tried turning everything off and back on again. Desktop and laptop are working fine. Sometimes it turns on suddenly and I can use it for like 20 mins but then shuts off again. Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points

If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Shrink to fit page doesn't work

Hi. I have a complex program which is doing the following.
Java program calling c++ executable by using "Process" object which is using Win API interface to start new process eg: "c:\PathTo Adobe executable /p /h c:\myPdf.pdf". The document's margins are very close to document's edges, so if I want to print this document normally I use "shrink to page". But the documet printed without shrinking!!!
When I an opening the same document just inside Acrobat and send it to print, it is printed normally, when I am executing only c++ executable it is printed shinked.
I tryed it in Acrobat 7,8,9 with the same result.
Moreover on other PC it is printed shrinked, when executing the whole process I described above!!!
What can be a problem. It seems to be that Adobe loosing "shrink to fit" settings

How to find and use 'Shrink To Fit' in Microsoft Word for mac. I have seen a few answers to this, but, none seem to grasp what 'Shrink To Fit' is. Shrink to fit allows the user to take one or more pages and shrink the content of those pages onto one page and sometimes just fewer pages. It does not as is indicated by many answers require the user to reduce fonts or letter sizes manually or reformat the page. It simply shrinks or resizes the area over which the document is spread. For example, I have one and a half pages of printing but I want it all to reduce to one page for easy reading. For anyone who has used Microsoft WORD on a PC they understand 'Shrink To Fit' is achieved by clicking one button from the ribbon. Is this function completely missing from WORD for apple computers?

Unable to shrink datafile

Hello Gurus,
Env: SQL Server 2008 R2 installed on Windows Server 2008.
DAS based storage.
Issue: DBCC showfilestats shows that all of the exents are used. This means there is no

Description: The data file is growing by a GB every day approx.
I see the existing space with in the data file is not being used and it is allocating fresh extents every time.
When I do the DBCC showfilestats it says all of the extents are in use and there is almost nothing free.
The size of the data file is 200 GB.
When I run the top 50 tables by size, I see the sum of all of these tables is hardly 10GB.
I know there is not much data with in the tables.
When I am trying to shrink the data file, it gives the error message "A severe error occurred on the current command."
I tried to follow the following till date, nothing worked till date.
DBCC checkDB and then tried to shrink.
Took the database in the single_user mode and then tried to shrink.
Ran a checkpoing and then the log backup job and then tried to shrink.
So there are two questions.
1. How shall we shrink the data file?
2. Why is it not using the existing space with in the file?
Please letme know if I need to send more details.

Why would shrink it, when The data file is growing by a GB every day approx. Database files should rather not autogrow. They should be extended well in advance in a maintenance window. I would suggest that you increase the database
with 50 GB.
Shrinking a database is a very exceptional operation which you only do when you know that the data size has been reduced on a permanent basis.
2. Why is it not using the existing space with in the file?
It is not clear how you have deemed that there is space in the file; au contraire, all evidence points at that is no space available.
It is possible, though, that your data pages are poorly utiliized. Heaps are particularly prone to this, and you can be left with pages with no or little rows on them.
Do you rebuild your indexes regularly? Do you have any heaps? What does this query return:
SELECT COUNT(*) FROM sys.indexes WHERE index_id = 0

I have solved my issue as well. For those who has not Find My Friends app in their devices should try this:
- Open Safari from iPhone and go to icloud.com
- Click (touch) Instal My Friends
- And follow above given instruction for this problem
