Ios 8.02 Loss of celluar service

I have upgraded my iPhone 5 (AT&T, 32 GB) from 8.0 to 8.02. My phone now repeatedly losses the signal ("No Service"); it also repeatedly asks for the login to my wifi networks.
Have others experienced this problem?
Any work arounds?

8.02 worked fine post install, then this am woke to an iPhone 5 that showed no signal, just stuck on "searching..." Everything else worked fine. Apple tech support tried to troubleshoot but no luck. They also said they were unaware of a prob with 8.02. Had me do a restore which crashed (unknown error) halfway through. Then had me do a recover/restore. Ditto. Then told me it was because I was running Yosemite Beta, so I used my wife's laptop running Mavericks to restore. Same deal. They are mailing me a new phone.

  • Is it permissible to offer free IOS apps backed by paid subscription services?

    Hello,
I was wondering if it's permissible according to Apple's guidelines and standards to offer free IOS apps that interact with online services that are paid for outside of the Apple ecosystem.  Apps for Netflix and Dropbox, to name a few, seem to suggest this is perfectly reasonable.  I was hoping that someone could point me towards the appropriate standard or guideline that spells this out expliclty.
    Thanks in advance,
    Mike

I must apologize for my reply. Somehow I read that you were looking to use a 3rd party advertising platform. I don't know where that came from.
You can certainly connect to a non-Apple, paid service. What trips people up is that you can't have a link to sign up for said paid service. If users are able to sign up directly in the app, they must do it through the App Store. It is a very good idea to have a native login to said service as well. If you use WebKit then the website could display a "sign up now" button that would get your app rejected.
All of the details are in the guidelines and developer agreement. You need a developer account to see them but people have posted then all over the Internet. In the developers site, they are listed right up at the top.

I have very strange problem with iphone 3gs. Whenever it gets little hot or exposed to 30 degree or above temperature it losses signals (No service). Whenever it is cooled down the service is back. Whenever I am using Skype or playing game for a while it losses carrier signals and wifi. When it is cooled down afer shutting down the carrier signals and wifi are back. It is for sure problem is with heating, but 30 degree tempeature in Oman is normal and some time it goes upto 50 degrees. I have noticed this has started after I started using substandard charger as I lost my original charger of the phone. Please help!! Thanx.

The specifications define an operating range up to 35 degrees.

  • "No service" sign, celluar service with iOS 8.0.2 on iPhone 6

I have a problem with my new iPhone 6 with iOS 8.0.2 :
1.immediately after I end a call , every time, in 10 seconds appears the sign "No service" for about 10-12 seconds and then the signal reappears in full power again.
It happens every time I end a call and from while to while with no reason .
    2. While I am using "AirDrop" the phone remains locked and I can not use it, until the transfer is made .
    3. Trimming a video is blocking the access to "Photos" folder, requiring to completely close the application .

  • Iphone 5 is still not staying connected to my carrier even after the ios 8 update. Says no service or searching..

So A few things occurred, I returned my Iphone 5 because of a defect in the sleep button last week, and then just got it back Monday. I went and got a new Sim Card activated at the AT&T store since the other was deactivated by rep on phone.(long story) Went home upgraded the phone to ios 8 and have my phone constantly searching for service or saying no service. I have done all trouble shooting on apple support and even had another sim card replace. Yesterday I updated to ios 8.2 and guess what it didn't do any good.  AT&T  stated last week my tower was having probs but the issue was fixed but lte had degrated and was still being worked on, I have not stayed in my city so I don't think that is the issue, I have no idea what to do now. Any suggestions?

My partner had this issue on the iPhone 6 a few days after moving from Windows phone. The move was seamless then no service at all. He called the service provider, they reactivated his phone/sim/whatever and it worked. Then, he had terrible signal issues, 1 bar in the house, the final problem was resolved by purchasing the 4G LTE Microcell. Now, even I have the best service I've ever had since 3G (I know, not saying much though FULL BARS NOW!)
Call AT&T from LAN Line with iPhone in hand.
Go to AT&T store and get the 4G LET Microcell (it's an LTE booster and easy to install.)

  • IPhone 5, updated to IOS 7.x spotty/non existent service

Have had phone without issue for the first year, a few months ago, i updated the IOS software, and emails would come through several hours late.  Soon enough, i would get text messages 3 hours or more after they were sent.  When i send a text message, it says sending across the top for a minute, and typically says "Failed to send" (even when sent as sms)
When 7.1 was available, i thought, "Whew, they musta found the glitch, this will fix it), so i updated.
Far worse now, My wife and i have exactly the same phone, on the same Verizon contract.  We can be right next to each other, she is buzzing along the internet, sending texts, receiving texts, and mine just sits and says "No connection".
I moved away from the cheaper providers because i wanted great coverage/service.  My old Virgin mobile $30 plan was FAR better.
I have reset network/phone settings, and am about to do a full reset and trash all my data (Thanks Verizon).  I will report back to this forum and advise if this works.
Why are we paying over $150 for two phones, with this level of service.  It's time to walk.

Sorry to hear that your phone has been experiencing issues with regards to functionality, craigfe. You definitely should not be experiencing those issues. Please let us know if performing the master reset, after backing up your data, gets your phone working normally once again. Thank you, craigfe.

  • IOS 7 update resulted in no service

I updated my iPhone to iOS 7 and no I have no service. Checked with service provider, they say there are no issues on their end. I have done a factory restore, reset, turned the phone off and on, removed and reinserted SIM card and still no service. Can anyone offer any solution?

The phone was purchased at the Apple store in Colorado and was factory unlocked.

  • HT5934 iOS 7.1 keeps my location service on at all times now. ***!

My location service stays on even when I don't have any apps running in the background with this new iOS 7.1 update... Please fix this ASAP!

There has been no change.  What iTunes displays is determined by iTunes, not the iOS.
    Restart your computer and iPhone.

  • IPhone 6 iOS 8.0.2 lost cellular service and TouchID

Updated my iPhone 6 from iOS 8.0 to 8.0.2 and immediately I'd gotten the same issues which iOS 8.0.1 is having. Lost of cellular services and TouchID does not work.
I have thus reinstall my phone back to IOS 8.0 and by the way, I'm situated in Singapore. Hopefully Apple can thoroughly QA the firmware for individual region before releasing worldwide.

I have the exact same issue.  iOS downloaded the update for me and gave me the badge notification that it was ready for install.  I installed it at 1100 central time (I am in the US) on 26 Sep.  Will revert back to iOS 8 when I get to a computer with iTunes.
