IOS 8.02 Problem

I recently updated my IPad to IOS 8 and just yesterday to 8.02.  I use my iPad daily in my job and now after updating to 8.02 I am no longer able to log into my portal account on my college website.  The only way for me to access my online classes, email, etc. is from the portal on this website.  I have never had a problem with any IOS upgrade, but this essentially makes my IPad useless if I can't access what I need to.  I saw that others had issues with a recent upgrade to IOS 8.01 and that in the meantime one could downgrade, but I saw a post yesterday that this is not possible now that 8.02 was released.  So I'm hoping someone has an answer for me on what else I can do.

Right now you're trying to get into that portal, and I can understand that. If I were having trouble with Safari (and by association the iOS 8.0.2 update), then I would try to isolate the problem this way. First, Safari has been changed with this update to its current state. Now, what you don't know right now, is if it's the current state of Safari (as its been updated) is the problem, or its something squirrely on your own setup, as it is right now.
If I were to test it out, I would want to check the operation of Safari on another iOS device (one that someone else says that they are not having a problem with) and see if you can access that portal through Safari. Or, you could go down to the Apple Store, grab one of the display units which will be running the current version of Safari and see if you can sign in there.
If you can't, then you've got a problem with Safari in its current upgraded state. And with that, I would go to Customer Support at Apple and report the problem. They'll do an update that will correct the problem you and others are having with that specific issue.
And in ordeer to work around that problem (if that's the problem you're having, that is "with Safari"), then I would try another browser at the app store. Sometimes another browser will not have a particular problem with a particular website that Safari might be having.
However, if you find that the current version of Safari is not the problem (by testing it out on another iOS device that is operating fine, or trying the Apple models at the store) ... then that means you should probably restore your iPad to its factory default setup. If Safari operates everywhere else (on other iOS devices) and doesn't have a problem, but you do on your device, then something squirrely his happening (probably something got corrupted in a setting or a file), and you need to restore everything to a factory default condition. This will make your system "new" as if it came off the factory floor that day.
Be sure to save all your data to a backup, though, before you start fiddling around with everything. At some point, after you've tested out the factory default setup, you'll want to restore your own data. For testing purposes, don't restore your data right at first. Just test out Safari on your new setup with your portal.

Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

  • How come they still haven't fixed the ios 6 wifi problem on ios 6.0.1 making me mad -.-

I know apple or the tech support doesn't read this but come on tell them to fix the wifi problem that started from ios 6 and still continuing to ios 6.0.1. I already gave them another feedback like 5 days ago. I really don't want to reconnect to my wifi everytime. I already did everything possibly to fix my wifi problem. I know its IOS 6.0.1 because it started with ios 6 and still not fixed by apple update to 6.0.1.
I have a very limit data plan of 300 MB on at&t and I don't want to go over so I rely on my wifi most of the time.

Maybe you just lucked out but both my devices running ios 6.0.1 have wifi problems shutting of at random times during sleep. I know you guys will say when its plugged in it doesn't lose wifi true but I never remember having this problem in the previous ios verison from ios 4 to 5(On my Iphone 4, and from my Iphone 4s from IOS 5) until I updated both devices to ios 6  or even when I had a iTouch 3rd gen long time ago I never remember it shutting of my wifi. I am telling you this never happened before IOS 6 where I need to leave it plugged in just to have my wifi during wake up.

I thought I believed my iPhone 4 with iOS5.0 would not disconnect during sleep mode. However, I was wrong. What I did was to ping the IP addresses on my iPhone 4 (iOS5) and iPhone 5 (iOS 6 then, and iOS6.0.1 now) when they were in sleep mode. Very true that there were timed-out on both devices. Once I woke them up, ping went thru. I did a scan on my home network using my iPad while the other 2 phones were in sleep mode, I was not able to see them.
I thought my iPhone4 did not disconnect too. But again, I think the reconnecting to wifi on iOS 5 is SO MUCH quicker than on iOS6 so user would think there was never a disconnect.

  • Update to iOS 5.1 problem from a MacBook Pro

    Hi all,
Today I've got my first problem with my MacBook Pro. I've tried to update my iPhone to iOS 5.1 but without success.
First of all I am using Lion 10.7.3 which is up to date.
    The problems we're as following:
    1. Tried to update through iTunes, but I've got a pop-up message which tries to contact the iPhone Update Center and it stayed on my screen for about 2 hours without downloading anything.
    2. Tried to manually download the update from appdnld.apple.com and also without success. I've tried this using Safari and Firefox.
After this I've tried downloading it from an Windows PC and surprise, I've managed to download it very easy.
Does anybody know what am I missing?
Also I've tried with OTA and also without succes. I've got the same message that says that the Update Center cannot be reached.
    Thanks in advance,
    Stefan

    sdascalu,
As BBidwell said, that's what worked for me.  I've got an iPod Touch, changed the WiFi DNS settings, meaning erased the old settings [you may want to write them down before clearing them], and I used 8.8.8.8, 8.8.8.4 which worked perfectly.  I was able to update to iOS 5.1 using Update on the iPod.  Worked just fine.
    Hope this info helps you.

  • IPod Touch iOS 4 Update Problem

    Hello,
Today I received a new iPod touch 8GB 2nd Generation from Apple, after my old one's audio jack failed. When I got home I decided to try and update to iOS 4 from 3.1.3. Download went fine, started to install. Everything went fine until my iPod got stuck with the Apple logo and the loading bar beneath. On my MacBook the loading bar is stuck on roughly 5%.
I was like sure, this has happened before to my 1st 8GB iTouch, we ended up getting that one replaced, then got the replaced one replaced again. So now I am on my second replacement, and it has failed me again.
I held down the home and lock button until it has reset. Original image comes up from when you first purchase the iPod, so yes I plug it into my laptop.
"iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode. You must restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes"
Ok sure, so I decided to follow the instructions. Extracts all the data fine, then yet again gets stuck on roughly 5%, with the same image shown on the iPod.
Any one have any idea? Or will I have to return it to Apple.
    Thanks.

I also initially had problems updating my iPod Touch 32GB 2G. I also got stuck with the Apple logo and the loading bar. iTunes gave me the message it could not connect with the iPod. I reset the device and tried again. This time I just had the Apple logo and no indication on iTunes that a device was connected. I disconnected the iPod and reset it again.
At this point I thought about the fact that my battery was low and that I was also using a USB hub. I then used an external charger to charge up the battery on the iPod. After that I connected it directly to a USB port on my computer and this time it updated the software with no problem. I don't know if charging the iPod and connecting it directly to the computer made the difference or not. Perhaps as they say, the third time is the charm. So you might just need to try a couple more times. Good luck.
I will also say that the upgrade seems to be a good one. After upgrading my iPod to OS4.0 I was getting several crashes a day and some apps just would not work. I haven't had a lot of time with OS4.1 but I haven't had any crashes since updating and programs that were not working are now working.

  • I have iphone 4 and ios 7. iphone doesn't recognize my wifi at home frequently but my ipads which has old ios have no problem. how can I fix it?

I have iphone 4 and recently updated IOS to 7.0.4. After that, my iphone is keep going into 3G mode at home. I thought it was the problem with my internet or router. But my husband's iphone and our ipads are not having any issues. I turned off and turn it on many times. It eventually get the wifi, but it disconnects few times and it is really frustrating.
Also, it seems to me that the battery is dying quicker. Am I the only person having the issue?
How can I fix the connectivity issue? Or is there any way for me to go back to IOS 6? Some of appes don't work under IOS 7.
    Thank you.

  • IOS 6 causing problems to my 4th gen iPod touch?

Are there any others like me out there? Okay I've updated my iPod touch approximately two days ago and now it's like the biggest regret of doing so. 1) when it was upgrading the software, my iPod touch went on froze for almost two hours and the upgrade wasn't loading. It only continued after a long while. 2) some of my apps suddenly "disappeared" 3) some of my apps crash when I try to open them (example: App Store, groupon, Facebook and even safari itself even though I only had one page loading) 4) everything became so laggy, my apps take almost forever to load, and whenever I type, it takes quite a while to show up especially in google search 5) sometimes my iPod just "crash" randomly and shows me a black screen for like 5 - 10 seconds and I can't do anything about it but wait until it recover.
iOS 5.1.1 was MUCH better compared to this. This is really a huge disappointment as it has greatly affected the productivity of my iPod touch. I hope your support team is able to recover and repair this damage caused by the upgrade. I look forward to a MUCH NEEDED IMPROVEMENT upgrade to counter this problem.

Have you tried doing a DFU restore in iTunes? To do a DFU restore, you will need to put the iPod into DFU mode by following this tutorial: http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=1034
    Then, select restore in iTunes.

  • IOS 6 Icloud problem

Since uploading IOS 6 I have not been able to access icloud or itunes match on my iphone4...any help much appreciated!

    Hallo Shadowrap411,

  • IOS 5.1 Problem with docking.

I've recently upgraded to ios 5.1, and have generally been happy with it. i haven't encountered the battery problems a lot of people have complained about but i have had one HUGE problem. I have an alarm clock docking station i use to charge my Iphone 4 with, i can dock my iphone and play music through the speakers no problem, it works the same as it always has, i can control all aspects using the remote control and everything but volume using my device. When docked and playing music the volume slider disappears from the music app, this is fine as it always has done this. The problem however is that once i remove the device from the docking station and try and play music through headphones or the device's speakers the volume slider has not reappeared and although the device thinks it is playing a track no sound is made. Can anyone help?

I have the exact same issue, also with 4S when I updated to 5.1. The only workaround (not a solution) is to turn off 3G. Make sure to check the setting again after you restart your phone as it turns back on by default.

  • Yosemite and iOS iMessage Syncing Problem

I am SO frustrated. I've read forum after forum and CANNOT seem to set up text message forwarding. I've signed into just one apple id across all of the devices (@icloud.com), I've selected receive from and only had my email address selected. I've toggled the iMessage on and off on my phone (sometimes crashing iMessage - it says it's activating and then says it can't connect to iCloud). I've turned on BlueTooth and tried connecting my devices and then clicking "Enable Test Message Forwarding." Whatever I do, I CANNOT seem to get the activation code to pop up on my laptop. It just won't.
There is a SERIOUS bug in iMessage and this problem only started after I updated to Yosemite and iOS 8, on my new iPhone 5.
Before updating anything, my MacBook Air and my iPhone 4 were working together beautifully. After updating to Yosemite, suddenly I could receive messages on both devices, but they would show up unread on my phone even though I checked them on my laptop and vice versa and my replies would only show up on the device where the replies originated. When I switched to the other device, conversations appear one sided - I can only see the series of messages my friends sent me in the conversation on the other device (without my replies).
Today, I was furious because I texted someone from my phone while at work and then thought that I never heard from them. I went home to discover that their reply only went to my Macbook Air, which had been sitting at home, closed, on the kitchen table!
I thought I fixed it because one or two messages I sent from my iPhone showed up on my laptop when I used it later in the day. However, I have yet to see this successfully happen again.
    PLEASE FIX THIS BUG, APPLE.
    Kind regards,
    K

    Hi,
What I am understanding form your post may not be what you think you are telling me.
Nor does it quite match what I thought I had posted.  (post/message  is only as good as it is understood by the recipient)
On the iPhone in the iMessages setting remove all additional emails.
Remove the Apple ID you are using for iMessages
Then place in Airplane Mode (ON) which turns everything else Off effectively.
this will leave Messages with just the iPhone number listed when you go back to the settings.
Wait for the iPhone Number to Verify (re-register) with the servers.
    Apple IDs
I have an Apple ID I made years ago using an external email address from a Dial up provider.
At the start of iCloud I linked it to iCloud and received an @Me.com email ID either works in iTunes and logging in to the web page for iCloud.
    Later I also got an @icloud.com email/ID
Sending an email to @me.com or @iCloud.com gets to my Mail App that lists the @me.com variant.
Emails sent to the original email address do not come through the Apple servers.
iMessages treats each as a separate ID.
It is important that the Apple ID used on the Mac and the first one used as the Apple ID in Messages on the iPhone are the same - even if they are linked elsewhere.
(It can be different to the iCloud setting on each device)
when you add the Apple ID to the iPhone the mac should get the Pop ups to say what the iPhone is using.
Accepting them adds the iPhone number to the Send and Receive options in the Mac version (And th Start conversations from drop down).
At this point on the Mac you should have only two IDs active to Receive and Send (the Apple ID and the iPhone Number).
Text Forwarding should then be enabled on the iPhone, prompting the Mac version to show you the code, which then needs entering on the iPhone.
There are limits to some Model of Mac regarding Handoff and Airplay (my mid 2011 iMac will do Airplay between Macs but not with iOS devices).
I am not sure if there are limits to Text Forwarding though.

  • IPad2 using iOs 8 passcode problem

I updated my iPad2 to iOs 8.02 and now I am having a problem.  It crashed and I got a message that it needed to be restored on iTunes.  I did and now I can't get into it again because it says that I am using the incorrect passcode.  I have tried so many times that now I have to wait 60 minutes to try again as it is disabled.  I have tried to restore again but it will not allow me too because I can't get into the settings to turn off "Find my iPad".  I went onto iCloud to erase all the data as that was another suggestion (I have it backed up) but it won't erase until it connects to the internet and I can't connect it until I know the passcode! I followed all instructions in the support documents but to no avail. It's useless at this point....any suggestions?

If you are positive that you followed all of the steps in that support article that I posted in my first response, you need to sign into her Apple ID in Settings>iTunes and App Store>Apple ID. If your ID is still showing in there, tap it and sign out. Then sign in with her ID. If you didn't follow all of the steps in the link, you may still have to remove the device from iCloud/sign out of iCloud and that is why it is still looking for your Apple ID.
IF you are trying to update apps that you bought with your ID, you cannot use her Apple ID in order to do so. Those apps (and any other purchases made with your Apple ID) will always be tied to your ID.
You might want to take a look at the support article again just to be sure you followed all of the steps.

  • IOS 8 Bluetooth problem in '13 Honda Accord

Ever since upgrading to iOS 8 on my iPhone 5s, I am unable to speak on the phone through the Bluetooth system in my 2013 Honda. The phone will connect, but when I try to make a call, the call can not be heard through the Bluetooth unless I switch the call to “private” on my iPhone. When I receive a call, the Bluetooth system will alert me but when i answer I still can't hear anything through the speakers. I can play music and hear it well through the Bluetooth. But not calls. This might be an iOS 8 issue. Is anyone else having the same problem?

    Others reported:
Delete network settings and the old pairing at both ends: iPhone and car.
After pairing new, it works for many.
If not: Delete all settings (back to manufactory settings) and delete pairing in the car memory.
After repairing it works for some other.
