IOS 8.1.1 Deep Sleep isssue Ipad Mini 3

Hi ,
i am currently experiencing some issues after i updated my Ipad Mini 3 from IOS 8.1 to 8.1.1 . my ipad mini 3 will go into a deep sleep mode like as if i turned it off. at first i thought the battery was empty , then i saw that the battery was at 34% when i got it back on. for me to get it back on , i had to hold down the power and home button together. if i hold down the power button only it will not come on. it is very strange, i hope it can be fixed or patched
kindest regards,
Paul

The router indicates STBC for the iPad 3, but not for the iPad 4...

Ok, got it now. I turned the Mini off and rebooted. Seems to be working fine now.

  • Dear team, please advise when are we going to receive the latest IOS 7.1 for iphone 5 and ipad mini,

    dear team,
please advise when are we going to receive the latest IOS 7.1 for iphone 5 and ipad mini,

Any future updates will be released when they is ready. Apple have not said when that will be yet, athough you can be sure it will be all over the tech/Apple news websites when it happens.

  • How do I decline an iOS 8.0.1 update on my iPad mini with retina display when I already updated to 8.0.2?

How do I decline an iOS 8.0.1 update on my iPad mini with retina display when I already updated to 8.0.2?

How do you mean? Once you have 8.0.2 on there it shouldn't be asking you to download 'old' software.
Did the older installer download already and is lurking on your device? Settings, general, usage. Populate the list and you should see and be able to delete it from there.

  • How is iOS 8.3 on the 1st gen iPad Mini?

First off, I almost never update my iOS because I'm always terrified it will make my devices sluggish. And since I can't afford to get the latest and greatest Apple upgrade whenever they release a new one it too adds to my anxiety of upgrading iOS software on my older devices.
I really couldn't find anything about how performance is on the 1st generation iPad Mini. So I'll give you my specs and preferably if someone has experience with at least the same generation and gb then let me know how the upgrade worked out for you. Especially as far as sluggishness goes. Switching apps, etc. Most likely I'll be directly upgrading to iOS 8.3 since I'm still on iOS 7.1.2.
    iPad Mini (1st generation)
    16gb, wifi only
Uses: Apps, photos, and web surfing
    Songs: 6, Videos: 1, Photos: 750, Apps: 96
    Capacity: 13.4gb
    Available: 1.1gb
    Version: 7.1.2 (11D257)
    Model: MD531LL/A

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities
I also own a 1st generation iPad Mini and i'll admit iOS 8 doesn't feel as "snappy" as it did with iOS 7. That being said I think it works fine with 8.3 and there has been some major improvements since the first version of iOS 8.

  • How to downgrade ios 6.1.3 to 6.1 (Ipad Mini + Wifi?

how to downgrade ios for Ipad Mini + Wifi??? anyone know it??

I'm sorry, but Apple does not provide a downgrade path for iOS. Because downgrading is unsupported by Apple we cannot discuss it on these forums, but you can use Google to find information on how to install an older version of iOS on any iDevice.

  • IOS 7 problems of sensitivity on the Ipad Mini screen

After updating to ios 7 my ipad mini lost some sensitivity on the screen. now I have to press the screen harder and sometimes several times to respond the screen.
has anyone had this situation after updating to ios 7?

I'm having the same problem and neither rebooting or resetting settings have changed the problem. Mine is specially in the corners. Very frustrating when I'm playing games or while reading a book in iBooks or Kindle and I want to go the library or the store I can't get it to work. So, I have to keep turning the iPad Mini around until I find a corner that works...

  • Is iOS 7.0.4 worth installing on iPad Mini WiFi (1st Gen)?

I've heard mixed responses with some people saying it works great and others saying that their batteries were nuked following the update. Has any of the issues been fixed from the initial version? Is it worth taking the plunge or should I wait? I mainly read books on the Kindle app and watch movies. The main reason I bought the iPad Mini in the first place was for the battery life so would appreciate the input. Thanks.

Okay thanks guys, I think I'll go ahead and do it then. Strange so many have reported problems, maybe they messed something up

  • Xperia transfer error ios 8.02 from iPhone 5 and iPad mini retina to Z3

I can't for the life of me get my Z3 to transfer data from my iOS devices. After successful pairing an error occurs after a few kbits of the app evaluating what can be transferred. I've tried different cables, resets and uninstalling the app etc. Nothing works. No wifi transfer for iOS 8 yet neither. Frustrating!!

  • Ipad Mini - Internet problem - IOS 7.0.4/7.0.2

Just made the upgrade to this new IOS 7.0.4 and suddently my ipad mini started to having problems with the wifi connection.
I  am completely dissapointed with Apple and this new IOS 7.0.4, why  releasing it if wasn't ready yet?? My ipad mini was fine till today,  now i made this new upgrade and i simply don't have access to internet. It keeps saying "Safari cannot open the page blabla because your ipad is not connected to the internet. When in fact he is, and it has signal connectivity. Also keeps saying connection timed out, obviously.
I have downgrade it to the IOS 7.0.2 throught Itunes and now he still has this wifi problem. Great job Apple, i am very happy.
I guess i have to stop using my ipad and wait for Apple to hopefully fix this in the new software update or option 2: bring the modem along with me when i go to my kitchen then when i move into the livingroom since the ipad needs to be next to the modem/router. Ridiculous.
    There is no solution right?
    Thanks

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

  • If I buy a new iPad now, which version can I get iOS 6 not iOS 7? iPad mini version 1?

If I buy iPad mini version 1 now, can I get iOS 6 not iOS 7? I really don't like iOS 7. Or can I get iPad mini versin 2 with iOS 6 as a special request for my order? Thanks.

I agree with Texas Mac Man. Many stores that have stock of non-retina mini might still have ios 6. Apple id only selling non-retina ipad minis in the 16 gb version. I just checked Best Buy and they are selling the 32 and 64 gb versions, so should have ios 6. They're pick up at store only, so they're clearing out old stock. Check with authorized Apple resellers and see if they have any. Act fast, though.

  • IPad mini iOS 8 firmware fails

I successfully upgraded by iPhone 5 to iOS 8 and then followed with my iPad mini.
The iPad mini failed on firmware restore (lots of times). I took it to an Apple Store where it also failed.
Just out of warranty so told hardware problem - no luck.
I have tried to go back to iOS 7 manually and that also failed on firmware.
I cannot get at my backup prior to the upgrade as iTunes only recognises my iPad as in recovery mode and want to restore first.
I find it unacceptable that a 15 month old iPad can be rendered useless by an os update and be told 'out of warranty' no luck...
    Any thoughts ?

All is not lost, you can get your iPad working again.  For some reason I had problems updating on my PC since 7.1.2 update, before that it worked great. Now it hangs up with each new update. So the key is manually download the firmware file, I put 3 sites below, worse case Google downloading iPad Firmware iOS8 and pick the right one for your pad.  Then Step 1 make sure you have the latest iTunes, Step 2 take the firmware and change the .zip to .IPSW.
Step 3 Hard reboot the ipad (Power button and Home Button), Step 4 if no SIM (Wi-Fi Only no problem).
Step 5 below is the KEY step, holding down the shift key and clicking on the restore in iTunes will ask you for the firmware file. Point to where you downloaded the file. The firmware should install, the ipad should reboot and then restore from your most recent backup.
If you have a ton of apps (600+) like me, plan on a couple of hours for the final restore to finish.  As I write this my iPad mini is up to 36 Apps of 600+
It works, and the other day while in the Apple store getting my iPhone 6+ I told one of the Genius guys how to do it as his device was messed up and he didn't know about this.  I really wish Apple would figure why this happens and fix it.  It almost seem like after downloading the firmware, it needs to go back to the Apple server for something, hangs and screws up the persons device. Once in that state unless you know to perform the Shift+Restore with downloaded firmware you are hosed.
Good luck and I hope this get you back running

How to Manually Restore iPhone Firmware
Upgraded iTunes to the latest version available and rebooted our computer v11.4
Downloaded the iPhone 4.0.1 firmware directly from Apple manually*** (Rename from .Zip to <IPSW)
Hard rebooted the iPhone (press and hold both home and the power button until an Apple logo appears)
Popped the sim card out of the handset
Connected the iPhone to our computer and when iTunes told us it had detected a device requiring a recovery we shift clicked restore** (held down shift on the keyboard and clicked the restore button) within iTunes*
We browsed to the location where we’d saved the firmware we downloaded in step 2 and left iTunes to do its thing with the iPhone
When the iPhone rebooted having successfully applied the firmware we re-inserted the sim card, waited for the iPhone to tell us it was activated
We ask iTunes to re-apply the most recent backup it had to the device, thus restoring configuration and content.

  • MCPE Servers Not Working For iPad Mini

So, my friend and I were calling each other in FaceTime, and we both tried to get on a minecraft pocket edition server but it didn't work, we tried many servers, none of them worked. So I thought, maybe it's because we're FaceTiming, so I called my friend on my iPad mini 1. I tried it on my iPad mini 3 which is what I called my friend on before, and didn't work again! So I called my friend back on my iPad mini 3, and tried it on my iPad mini 1, when I tried it on my iPad mini 1, it worked. Weird. My friend used an iPad mini 2, and my version was iOS 8.1.2, for both my iPad mini 1 and 3, I have no idea what my friend's version is.. (MCPE version 0.10.4 alpha)
