IOS 8.1.1 Mail Notofication Center (10 Unread Items) - Only 5 Unread Display

All
Please note that I have the following issue, I have setup a GMAIL account in the iPhone Mail App and have the following setup for the mail notifications:
Allow Notifications - ON
Show in Notification Center - 10 Unread Items.
When I go to the notification center to see my unread items it only shows the last 5 even though the badge count shows more than 10 and the setting is set to 10 unread items.
When I setup the notification center for 5 unread or 1 unread or no unread items it works fine.
I have replicated this issue on a iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5 both running with 8.1.1
Any ideas?

I'm still having the same problem. I've been going to the Apple Store every week. I was able to talk to someone in my carrier store (Fido Canada) and the guy was really nice, he really tried everything, changed settings of the network, changed the IMEI number in their system (my iPhone has been replaced and their system still showed the old IMEI number). I went back a couple hours later and he had really done a lot of research and talked to people. The phone was ok for a couple of hours, but then asked for activation again.
I went to the Apple Store genius bar last week (4th or 5th time), I was ready to get a new phone but the guy told me he had found the issue. My phone was not registered with the carrier, where it should say "Fido Canada", it was empty. He was able to change that (network "elevation" or "escalation" or something like that), he checked again and it had been changed to Fido. The phone was working great for 4 or 5 hours this time, but then the activation screen came back. :-(
I don't know what to do anymore. I'm SURE it's not a problem with my phone, but it's a configuration issue, either with the carrier network or the software, but no one seems to know what to do!
Going back to the Apple Store this wednesday, hope someone will be able to figure this out!

    Hey brianfromkirkcudbright,
Thanks for the question. Let’s check your notification settings for the Mail application, we’ll want to make sure that “Show on Lock Screen” is enabled for the specific account (ex. iCloud):
    iOS: Understanding notifications
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3576
    Troubleshooting notifications
Verify that the app supports notifications.
After installing an app or restoring a backup to a different iOS device, open the app to begin receiving notifications. If the app requires entering or logging in to an account, you will need to do this before receiving notifications.
Check Settings > Notifications to ensure that the app is configured for notifications. If notifications do not appear in the Notification Center, verify that the Notification Center setting for the app is enabled.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • All mail is marked as unread following iOS 7 install.  How do I fix that?

All mail is marked as unread following iOS 7 install.  How do I fix that?

Ignore my last question.  This was entirely user inflicted.
The count that shows on the mail icon on the iPad shows the number of email in the "New" folder on my AOL account.  Some of these are emails that I read and then marked as unread.  In the previous versions, these "read and then marked as unread' emails did not show in the count on the iPad icon...but now they do.  Not a big deal...it's just different.
    Thanks for your help.

  • IOS 5 & Making E-mail adjustments under settings......

I have iPad 2 running iOS 5 and when I attempt to change  password under one of my e-mail accounts which I set up on iOS 4.x (Settings> Mail, Contacts, Calendars>), it locks up.  How do I remedy this problem?

Known problem. There are many threads on this (did you try a search?)
What you can do is turn Airplane Mode ON, wait 10 secs or so, then back OFF. Don't bother re-creating accounts, restoring, etc. It's a waste of time and will NOT fix anything.
The problem is a crash of an iPhone process that handles Exchange push over cellular. You cannot fix it yourself. The trick above will restart the crashed process (as will a restart), but after some time (minutes or hours) it will crash again. It's a bug Apple created with iPhone 5 push software. It apparently works fine for other models.
If you want to confirm the crashes:
    Settings>General>About>Diagnostics&Usage>Diagnostic&Usage Data
Look for apsd_date, where date is the date and time of the apsd (Apple Push Service Daemon) crash. If you have one or more of these, you have the problem.
Apple has to fix it with an iOS update. Many of us have opened support calls and Apple is aware of the bug and are working on it.

  • IOS 8.1.1 update, restore, now no sent items in mail

I've just updated my iPhone and iPad to iOS 8.1.1 via iTunes using the following process:
-Create back up (to this computer)
    -Update
    -Restore from backup
I did this for both my iPhone and iPad and now on both when I go into mail there are no Sent Items.
    This is a big problem.
    Why is this happening?
Since this happened to both my iPad and my iPhone, and there is no iOS or iOS Updates community (really? why isn't there at least an iOS community?) I've posted this here for now.

    Hi Brian,
How would that restore my Sent Items?
I don't think Sent Items are stored on the mail server. If they were, then for example: when you sent an email from your iPhone, that email would be pulled down from the server into the Sent Items folder for the same mail account on your MacBook Pro. That doesn't happen.
The Sent Items for an iPad or iPhone should be stored in the backup for that device you create via iTunes and be unique to that device. Another example: when you access the same email account from your iPhone, iPad and MacBook Pro the emails in the Sent Items folders on each of those devices are unique to said device even tho all the devices are accessing the same mail account.
This seems like a problem with the backup, the 8.1.1 update, or the restore.
I just restored the iPad as new, then restored from backup and during that process the iPad screen lit up and said "Slide to upgrade". What does that mean? I'm not upgrading anything, I'm restoring from a backup. How is "Slide to upgrade" appropriate? That doesn't seem right.
Is there any way to escalate this to actual Apple people? I won't pay for a support request when the problem is with their backup/update/restore.
I think they've introduced a backup/restore problem with the 8.1.1 update. I don't think this is a "user" problem, I've been syncing, backing up, and restoring iPhones and iPads as long as they've existed. It's pretty straightforward and I'm sure I haven't done anything wrong.
    Any other ideas?

    @Satterp
Not sure if you were responding to me or OP - my iPhone is on 5.1.  The OP at the time of writing was on 5.0.1.
Also, the OP and I had setup our Hotmail as an Exchange server (similar to IMAP), not POP3.

  • Checking BCC from an iOS device with Exchange Mail

    All,
My question is simply, I have an iOS device with Exchange mail configured. From my phone or desktop I send an email with Joe in the "To:" and Mary in the "BCC:".
When I check the Sent items on my phone, and I go to that email, I only see "Joe".
Is this just a limitation within iOS?
    More detail:
I'm testing on an iPhone 4S running v6.1.3 and I have my Office 365 account configured as Exchange email.
    Thanks all!
    -rudy

    No.
For obvious security reasons, iOS devices cannot be controlled remotely. Desktop computers and mobile devices do not share all of the same functionality. Mobile devices are somewhat limited compared to a full computer.

  • Apple Mail no longer showing unread messages in dock

Apple Mail no longer shows unread e-mails in my dock.  I recently upgraded to 10.8.4.  The program is running and I have tried the various "Dock Unread Count" settings in Preferences.  I have also rebuilt the library envelope index files to no avail.  I have a lot of rules and over that I use to put e-mails in various folders - is it possible that the rules are interefering with the dock count even though they didn't under 10.7?

In System Preferences > Notification Center, select Mail in the left hand column, and check the box, "Badge app icon" toward the bottom on the right.

  • IPhone 4s Mail shows over 5000 unread emails, but only 4 show up in Inbox

On my wife's iPhone 4s, running the latest iOS, Mail shows over 5000 unread messages, but there are actually only 4 in the Inbox.  Anyone out there who has experienced this and have a fix?

You need to log into your email on a browser and delete them from there.

  • TS4083 Is that behavior has changed along ios8 ? Or still you need to launch mail app to update unread emails ?

Is that behavior has changed along ios8 ? Or still you need to launch mail app to update unread emails ?

I've found out that this is by design.
Email Application offer push-notification, but read action is not populated to the Cloud.
So Mail app needed to be opened manually each time you want to refresh it status ...
That is not a good information...
As far as I remember, google had that work quite long ago properly (of course on iOS and inside Mail.app)

Befor did an update to i-tunes 10 as it was advised. Please HELP ! Another thing - why it happend ? I think that Apple is totaly responsible for this and where they are ? I even can't send them an e-mail ? What type of company it is ?

Yes, Apple has caused people to go through massive panic, anxiety and wasted time by not coming out and telling us about this problem. They must know about it. How can we tell them? Now I understand why it took me 50 tries to upgrade to OS5. We all got the same crazy errors that caused us to reinstall iTunes, turn off our firewalls, buy new USB cables and basically waste tons of time and energy, when the solution was very simple. Plug your device into a USB port on your computer.
After years of using a peripheral USB hub successfully it's no wonder we all started freaking out and thinking it was a major problem. Yes, I'm blowing off some steam, but I've been an Apple fanatic for a long time and I'm not happy about their lack of response to this issue.

  • Balancing field "Profit Center" in line item 001 not filled

When i am doing Posting with clearing(FB05) i am getting the below error message "Balancing field "Profit Center" in line item 001 not filled"
Background: When we are doing the MIRO transaction we have used a diffrent profit center than it came from the Purchase Order where we have added extra cost and included the new line items under GL tab and posted the Invoice.
Now i want to tranfer that to a diffrent Vendor and clear it. So i used FB05 transsaction. When i tired to do the transfer posting with clearing i am getting the error message "Balancing field "Profit Center" in line item 001 not filled" As we have under the document split Zero balances check box checked along with the Profit center Mandatory for field Profit Center. The system could not determine which profit center it has to use.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Kiran,
Could you tell me how you are able to resolve this issue as we are having the same issue.
Did you use the substitution rule?
    Please let us know.
    Thanks,
    Madu

  • Bal field "Profit Center" in line item 001 not filled at the time of F-53

    We are in ECC6
I have posted a vendor document.  The entry is shown as under.
         GL                           CC     PC     Segment
    Dr     Expense GL-1     RV01     RGV1     Hyderabad
    Dr     Expense GL-2     RV02     RGV2     Mumbai
    Cr     Vednor a/c
but when i am posting a payment document (Dr Bank GL and Cr vendor a/c) to this vendor I am getting the following error.
Balancing field "Profit Center" in line item 001 not filled.
I have check ed the configuration setting in this regard.  Zero balance, mandatory fields for profit center and segement check box is enabled.  And also the inheratence check box is also enabled.
Pls suggest soulution soon for the above problem.

    Hi,
Try to default the profit center in FAGL3KEH for the Bank account and try posting.
In SAP, the vendors and customers cannot be assigned to any profit center. They derive the profit center from the profit center picked from the GL as in the case of the expense entry that you mentioned.
Try to assign a default profit center and check.
    Regards
    Hari

  • Why is my mail icon not showing unread email messages?

For some reason, my mail icon is no longer showing my badge icon displaying the number of unread emails I have.  Within mail, next to my mailbox, it no longer shows the number of unread emails either even though there are clearly email messages with the blue dot indicating they're unread.  Does anyone know how I can fix this?
    Thanks

Open Mail, go to top and under Mail select Preferences. Click on general and make sure where it says 'Dock Unread Count, you have it set to Inbox Only or All Mailboxes, whichever you want and that it isn't set to none. If it is already set then try cetting it to none, close mail, restart, open Mail and go and change it again from none to what you want.
    Good Luck
    Pete
