IOS 8.1.2 bluetooth issue with Subarus

Apple... When are you going to fix this? I have been waiting months for a fix. As soon as I updated my iPhone 5c to iOS 8, the bluetooth connectivity with my 2011 Subaru Outback ceased to function. The many updates (now using iOS 8.1.2) have failed to fix the issue. This is a problem because I used the bluetooth system for my hands free phone use and I'm in my car for hours a day. Even the Subaru website now lists iOS 8 as incompatible with certain audio systems. The nice folks in your Apple Stores have been woefully incapable of addressing this issue except to tell me, after I stood my ground and argued that it was not Subaru's issue, that I get a new memory chip and use my old iPhone 4s, for which the iOS had not been updated to 8. This is a complete mess on Apple's part and I can't imagine that it would have occurred on Jobs' watch!

  • IPhone 6 BlueTooth issues with iOS8

    Ok here is my findings:
Tried 2 iPhone 5 units before iOS8 and no issues with Bluetooth (1 I had for 2 years and no issues in my car). Once updating to iOS8 the bluetooth didn't work well at all for phone calls but music connects fine. Strange issues with the unit automatically start dialling but not able to cancel call until you disconnected bluetooth.
Also incoming calls ring but unable to answer and seem to lock up so you have to disconnect bluetooth to hang up.
I tried everything listed in the forums here and what the Apple reps told me. It works for a short while until the phone gets turned off or synced with iTunes. Now I have a new iPhone 6 with iOS 8 and it worked initially before I started setting things up.
I did not restore from a back up, I started as a new phone. Once I installed all my apps (Not in iTunes, rather manually over the air) and changed settings on the phone (not sure if it because of changing settings or turning the phone off) it would not connect to bluetooth in my car anymore, well it does just for music. I have tried my wife's iPhone 5c and it seems to work fine with my bluetooth so it definitely has nothing to do with my vehicle.
Apple there is a definite issue here. Stop telling me and other people to contact my car manufacturer to fix the issue. It all worked fine before iOS 8. Something needs to be done ASAP or I will be returning my phone and jumping ship to an Android or Windows phone as much as that may pain me. I have been a loyal Apple customer for the last 7 years. If this is how you are going to treat me and other loyal customers, you will not keep us for long.
I am hoping someone from Apple is reading this. If so I am expecting to be contacted. We expect a resolution fast!

I had same Bluetooth issues with iOS 8 on my iPhone 6; no phone/no music streaming although showing as "connected" with my 2 vehicles (VW and Audi).
Apple telephone technical support team solved issue with both cars as follows:
    1. Delete the phone from handsfree memory in the Bluetooth car settings.
    2. "Forget" the handsfree device (car) in the iPhone Bluetooth settings.
    3. Reset ALL settings in iPhone (not just network settings)!!
(note: I had to reset ALL settings twice in a row for this to work.)
It worked in both cars! (Hope it stays working.....?)
You will have to reset wallpaper, and most other settings, as well.  Certainly worth the trouble to get car Bluetooth up and running properly.
    Good luck.

  • Bluetooth issues with car with iOS 8.0.2 and iPhone 5

I am still experiencing issues with connection my phone to my brand new car, after updating to iOS8, and now iOS 8.0.2.
I can connect to the bluetooth, but this gives me a phantom call, my car keeps telling me that an incoming call is inbound. I cannot receive or make any phonecalls, I have only access to my contacts list.
I have tried to remove my car on my devices list, changed the name of the phone, changed the password. Did a reset of the phone.
Deleted all network connections on the phone, and reset the phone completely. And also restarted my car.
    Still the same issues.
I did not have any issues with iOS7. And my car is a brand new Mazda 3 2014, with the latest firmware to the car. So i know for sure this is the iOS 8's fault.

after avoiding the hassle with the troubled IOS 8, IOS 8.0.1, i upgraded to 8.0.2. which I believed to be bugless, the iPhone 5 didn't function in my car (2014 model) anymore. It had worked flawless with IOS 7....
I'f got phantom calls, freezing the cars display and blocking the radio, in the second the bluetooth connection to the phone is established.
incoming calls go to the phone and at the cars system is nothing to hear.
Active calls from the car remain silent, even on the car display it looks like there is a connection, only the music is switched off.
Hopefully Apple staff is reading here and will change this situation soon.
Why is the possibility to officially downgrade to IOS 7.1.2 canceled by Apple ??
Is there still an unofficial possibility to downgrade a non-jailbreaked iPhone?
    In the older iTunes backup?

  • Iphone 6 with IOS 8.0.2 bluetooth broken with RHB430N Radio in 2011 Ram 1500

I got my 64GB Iphone 6 just after release date, paired properly with my RHB430N radio in my 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 and worked great. When the new update of IOS came out 8.0.2, I installed that on my phone. Now the bluetooth is broken with my radio. It seems to pair ok from the radio side but I get a message that the phone cant see the uconnect radio during pairing. When I try and make a call, It wont work through voice activation, if I do get to work, the call stays active for about 5sec on the radio then it shuts off, the phone stays on making the call. Weird!
I tried a factory reset on the radio, as well as network reset on my iphone with no luck. My Iphone 4S i had previously paired and worked fine with IOS 7.1.2
anyone else with the issue? I noticed a few other people with different vehicle makes with the same issue after the 8.0.2 update and like I said it paired and worked fine with IOS 8.0 out of the box.
any fixes or work arounds available meantime?

I got my 6 three days ago (fine device, by the way. Meg St Clair will be proud of me: I finally took the plunge, I who claimed that I would never buy another iPhone, but I'm dithering...), and so far, no issues, none whatsoever, when syncing my phone via USB.
WiFi syncing is another matter, though, because the phone simply doesn't appear in iTunes. I've checked all the right boxes, made sure the phone was set to accept WiFi syncing, to no avail.
I'll look into it this weekend, just in case I missed something.
But I can tell you this: all the content I had backed-up is now back on the phone, nothing's missing. I have a 2006 MacBook Pro running Snow Leppard.

  • Bluetooth issues with iPhone 5

Is anyone experiencing connection issues since updating?  Since updating iPhone 4 w/iOS 6 I've been experiencing Bluetooth connectivity with VW Jetta 2012. Now I have the iPhone 5 & it's still an issue. Which leads me to believe its the iOS 6 update. It works and then it doesn't. Very frustrating. And in most cases it connects but allows no controls using car stereo as before. All you see is "Bluetooth audio" on car stereo dash.

My Harman Kardon BT Headphones keep cutting out intermittently.  I found that the music would stop streaming to the headphone but it would continue playing on the phone.  To get the music back I had to keep pressing the play button on both my iphone and headphone and it would eventually come back.  Is it an issue with the 5 or is it my new headphones?
Had issues too. RESET my Jawbone Icon per online PDF and removed from iPhone and re paired no problem now.

  • 8.1 did not fix Bluetooth issue with iPhone 5 and car

8.1 didn't fix my issue with Bluetooth. I can receive calls and play music thru my Mazda CX-9 but I cannot make outgoing calls. My daughter has same issue with her iPhone 5 in her car so it has to be glitch with Apple yet. Please help. I'm so totally frustrated and I'm not eligible for iPhone 6 until January.

I found there is another contact group list as part of the Bluetooth sync menu; altering that took care of the issue.
    This is a non-issue.

  • Bluetooth issues with IOS 5.0 and Volkswagen

Ever since 5.0 came out my VW bluetooth connects ok in the car however when you leave the car ,the volume on the ringer stays at two bars and is almost inaudible. There are also playback issues at times of music when connected to VW bluetooth in that the volume stays at zero volume and i have to turn it up to hear the music. The ringer volume problem is the most annoying as it causes me to miss calls. Is anyone working on this?

Great news everyone!!!  I installed iOS 5.1 beta on my iPhone 4 and the volume Bluetooth problem is gone!!!
For most unless you are in the Apple iOS developer program you won't be able to install it yet but once it's released the problem should be fixed.
Something to note..  I did have to turn the volume up once after it connected to my 2012 VW GTI.  Since then it has stayed where I put it and I couldn't be happier.
Not happy with how long it took to get resolved but nonetheless happy it is resolved.  Let just hope it stays resolved when it goes public.

  • Bluetooth issues with the new iOS or the iPhone 5?

The Bluetooth I use in my car used to pair and connect automatically.  After upgrading my OS and from the 4 to the 5 everytime I attempt to use my bluetooth it says out of range.  I need to "Forget this Device" and re-pair it.  Has anyone else had this issue?  Would it be with the OS software or the new phone?

Nope.......Apple has created new software. Now other developers need to rise to the challenge of updating their software. With my car I had trouble with weird stuff. I called the dealer and come to find out there was an update. So my question to the dealer was how are you notifying the customers. They were letting customers contact them. Which I think is wrong, but seriously this is relatively new to dealerships. My guess is it will be different in the future, but when?
Think about apps......some apps won't run or run as well with the new OS. Those developers have to update the apps to work with OS8. It's the same thing.
Like I said, mine didn't initially work, but I deleted it and rediscovered it and it's good. Now, in a couple of years? Who knows.

I'm an avid user of Nike's fuelband and I'm having connecting to my iPhone 5 running ios via Bluetooth . I can connect the devices but after a few minutes the connection is lost . • IPhone 4, iOS 4.2.1 & Bluetooth/Charging with TomTom Car Kit

    All
    FYI
I have had a 6 mth running battle with TomTom after numerous emails, calls, new replacement car kits and troubleshooting. I basically could not get my iPhone 4 to connect to Bluetooth of TomTom CarKit (find it in Bluetooth search), nor would the Carkit charge the phone. (there were other unrelated app issues too).
Turns out i am behind on this, as if you did not know already TomTom have told me over the phone (by v senior management team member) that the Carkit is not working with a "selection" of TomTom Carkit/iPhone users, due to a bug in the latest 4.2 and/or 4.2.1 iOS. It means the Carkit (£100 + £50 app!) bluetooth and charging feature (the main bits!) will not work with any devices on this iOS.
He says not all people have issue but TomTom working with Apple on it and no date set for updates to fix issue by them or Apple. It means you may as well not try to chase them or Apple as wont change a thing and put your car kit in the loft as it aint going to be fixed any time soon.
I did have my old bluetooth headset working fine, until i disconnect pairing and tried to re connect. It no longer will reconnect.
Any one else had this, got a fix or an update on the issue?
    thanks

I found out today that when you turn off the GPS Enhancer (in TomTom go to Settings/Advanced/GPS Enhancer) the phone does not get so hot anymore and it actually charges in the car.
So from my short test, the GPS Enhancer seems to be the culprit.
    Hope this helps.

  • Bluetooth Issue with Droid Razr Maxx

I have had my Razr Maxx for about 3 weeks. From the jump I have had problems playing music thru several bluetooth devices. It will play fine for a few minutes, then music will start stuttering(dropping in and out) and continue to do so. Music plays fine when playing thru the phone speaker or wired headphones, but fails when using bluetooth.  I called in, and they sent me another phone, and the same problem is occurring with the new one. I'm figuring its a software issue, bc I had no problems with my Droid X. Is anyone else having this problem?? I probably listen to music just as much as I talk on the phone and this is def. frustrating.

  • IOS 6.1.2 WIFI Issue with Iphone 4s

SInce I updated my phone to ios 6.1.2 my wifi gets dropped or the button itself gets greyed out. I dont know what to do. Shuld wait for ios 6.1.3 or what?
This is the first time i am facing such an issue.  Apple customer care is also not able to solve the issue? Why every now and then this happens with apple device ?
Does apple takes its users for granted by releasing its software without having proper checks?
However it is quite surprising to know that my Ipad 4th Generation is working fine with 6.1.2. software.
Please help if anyone knows the solution.

Go to settings, reset, reset network settings. As the other suggestion said.
If its greyed out here is a link below.

  • Z30 Bluetooth issue with car handsfree since update to 10.3.1.1784

    Hi,
I am having a lot of problems getting my Z30 to work properly with my car's bluetooth system (BMW E46 - built 03/2004) since upgrading to this OS version. The Bluetooth system is factory installed (not 3rd party). I had a read through these forums and found some people who also had B/T issues in their vehicles, but I couldn't see what the fixes were (if one exists, feel free to point me in the right direction or send me the URL). The interesting thing is that my phone WAS working just fine until I updated to this OS version - now I cannot see my phone's Address Book on the in-car screen anymore (when I select "DIRECTORY" or "SPEED DIAL", it just displays a message "PLEASE WAIT" and does nothing).I also have issues making calls (the car isn't able to make the phone dial out). It gives the indication that it is, but when I look at the phone itself, the screen shows no activity. I have tried to Unpair and re-Pair, but no difference in behaviour. The pairing process itself works fine, and the phone asks me whether to share my contacts, etc with the in-car Bluetooth system - but even if I select "YES", it doesn't make a difference. Anyone know a fix? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Just wondering if anyone from Blackberry is monitoring these forums, as my problem still hasn't been resolved. I recently checked for a software update (hoping there would be one available), but my device tells me that I have the latest software.
