IOS 8.1.2 broke Yahoo Mail

After updating to 8.1.2, Yahoo mail no longer works.  I have tried the usual delete then readd the account.  My gmail and work microsoft exchange account works fine.  It will download my sent and emails from other folders, but when I do to inbox, I see the "Downloading 1 of 250" briefly at the bottom, but nothing ever downloads.  I am very tech savvy and have done all the usual fixes.  Please send this up the ladder so it gets fixed.

Send up to what ladder?  There is no Apple here in this user to user technical forum.
Yahoo mail has always been unstable, try using the yahoo app.

  • IOS 6 wont push my yahoo mail to my iphone 4

Anyone having an issue getting their email pushed to their iphone 4 after updating to iOS 6?

I managed to fix the problem on my iPHone 3GS under iOS 6.
All I had to do was fetch some email from the Yahoo account's inbox. After the email was downloaded, the push option was available for the Yahoo account, and the account was automatically set to that option, presumably because it was set to that option before the upgrade.
Another bug with IOS 6 and at least Yahoo Mail is that initially, you can only set the Drafts Mailbox, Sent Mailbox, and Deleted Mailbox to the ones on your iPhone or Yahoo's Inbox, i.e. you can't set them to their respective IMAP folders or any IMAP folder other than Inbox.  After fetching some email from Yahoo, this problem went away, and the folders were even automatically set to the correct respective folders on Yahoo, presumably the same ones as before the upgrade.
At one stage I fetched email from the drafts, sent and trash folders but this didn't help the second bug, and it may not have helped the first bug.
Yahoo, you should be aware of these bugs!
    Apple, these are bugs!

  • After updating to iOS 5, I cannot retrieve Yahoo Mail

After updating to iOS 5, I cannot retrieve up to date Yahoo Mail.  It successfully connects.  But it only shows some old emails.  Nothing current.  I've deleted the Yahoo connector and recreated it.  Same thing.  I know I have new emails waiting in my Yahoo Inbox, yet they're not showing on my iPhone.
    Any ideas?

I fixed Yahoo Mail on my 3GS with iOS 5:  In Settings, "Mail, Contacts, Calendars", I reduced "Show" to "50 Recent Messages"
It had been set to "200 Recent Messages"
I also have an Exchange and MobileMe account setup on the phone.
I guess that there is not enough memory or something with iOS 5 on some devices to hold 200 Recent Messages from multiple accounts.
    Hope this helps!

  • HT201320 This last week, I updated my iPhone with iOS6 and now my Yahoo Mail no longer works.  I've deleted and restored the account without fixing the problem.  The iOS update did not effect my iPad.  Anyone have a suggestion?

This last week (of 17 Sep 12) I updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 6 and now my Yahoo mail does not work.  I keep getting a "Yahoo server busy" message.  This problem has not effected the update to my iPad 3 - it works fine.  In addition, I have deleted and added my Yahoo mail - same result.  Looking for ideas on repairing the link between iOS 6 and Yahoo.  Cheers

Same here, albeit with a 3G and both a work Exchange account and personal Gmail are out of action.  Reentered my password on the Gmail to no avail.
Unfortunately it seems that increased success has come too fast to Apple, it's starting to display Microsoft-like behaviors, e.g., releasing stuff and letting the customers serve as the beta / guinea pigs.

  • IOS 5.1.1 and IMAP mail not working?

I'm wondering if iOS 5.1.1 broke IMAP mail on the iPad2 and iPhone 4S.
    Background
I have used several email accounts on the iPad2 and iPhone 4S  (and the iPhone 4 before that) successfully for quite some time.  Just recently I noticed that there were no new emails in any of my IMAP accounts.
    Tried so far...
I've deleted and re-entered my email account information several times.  I've hard "re-booted" the devices (home + off til the apple reappears).  None of these procedures have fixed things.
    Help if you can.  Thanks!

You can post the question again, but trust me, iOS 5.1.1 did not break IMAP mail on the iPad. I realize that you are frustrated by this issue, but IMAP email accounts are working for me - as I stated earlier and they are working for the majority of IMAP email users as well. I posted this in your first post and I don't know if you even tried it.
Have you tried just quitting mail and then restart the iPad and see what happens?
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
You can also turn mail off in the settings, restart and the turn mail on again in the settings and sometimes that resets things back to normal.
Settings>Mail>Your Email Account>Mail>Off. Restart the iPad and go back to Settings>Mail>Your email Account>Mail On. See if your email accounts will work.
Did you think that maybe your email provider - Thunderbird I believe you said - could be experiencing an issue on their end

Not sure about yahoo, but for gmail, I done the following:
Set up using Exchange on iPhone, it'll keep prompting for password.  On PC use captcha option, log in to gmail account from PC after completingg captcha option, enter password on iPhone.
See how that goes for gmail, let us know.
Hopefully someone will have fix for yahoo.

  • Since iOS 8.1.2 upgrade problems with yahoo mail via apple mail client

Since the upgrade to iOS 8.1.2 on my iPad I'm having issues with my yahoo mail account when using the apple mail client. I can send emails but cannot receive them. When I use the yahoo mail app there is no problem Sending or receiving. I have deleted and reinstalled my yahoo email account from the apple mail client. I have checked the wifi by changing between wifi hotspots. I have also restarted the iPad as well as resetting. None of these actions have resolved the problem. would appreciate any assistance that can be provided.

Do you use two-step verification for your Yahoo! account? If yes, you need an app-specific password.
If no, make sure your password is already entered in the "Outgoing Mail Server" in the Settings app.

CCan no longer get Yahoo mail on iPad 4 after upgrading to iOS 8.1.2.  Tried deleting my email account R and recreating it to no avail.

  • I can no longer delete my yahoo mail in iOS 8

Ever since updating to iOS 8, I cannot delete the mail in my Yahoo inbox. I get a popup telling me the message can't be deleted. Settings were the same as my iPad running iOS 7, so it's got to be something with 8. Any fixes out there yet?

    Couple of suggestions:
Try deleting the account under Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Yahoo! -> Delete this account, and then going to Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Add new account and resetting it up.
Did you turn on Yahoo's 2-factor authentication?  If so, you previously would have created a device-specific password.  If you have a new device, then that password probably doesn't work any more.  You'd have to go to Yahoo and then request a new device-specific password (and delete your old one).

I do backup with iCloud.  I can't wait until the new iMac is available so that I can once again have my files in more than 1 location without needing to rely solely on the cloud.
I also rely on iTunes and my MacBook and Time Machine as well as backing up to iCloud. I know many users know have gone totally PC free, but I chose to use iCloud merely as my third backup.
I assume that the restore would result in my ability to open Pages and Numbers and fix the problem with deleting apps, but this would also mean that if my Numbers documents still exist solely within the app and are just not on iCloud for some reason that they would be gone forever.  Is that right?
In a word, yes. In a little more detail.... When you restore from an iCloud backup, you must erase the device and start all over again. There is no other way to access the backup in iCloud without erasing the device. Consequently, you are starting all over again. Therefore, it would also be my assumption that Pages and Numbers will work again and that the deleting apps issues would be fixed as well.
If the documents are not in the backup, and you do not have a backup elsewhere, the documents could be gone forever.

Hi were you able to resolve yours?
I was very worried losing all my medical stuff on my iPad Air 2, plus i have nothing to use for the next day! So i have to try all the possible things i read on the internet!! And this worked on my part (Thank God, and thank you Google)
    Perform a hard reboot
Hold down the Home button and Power button on your iPhone or iPad and keep holding them until you see the Apple logo. Once you do, you can let go. When your device boots back up, go ahead and check to see if the apps have started re-downloading. If they still appear to be stuck, continue on.

  • Yahoo mail not opening since update to ios 8.1.3?

After updating to the new software on Monday, my yahoo email worked for about 24 hours and now won't upload.  Any suggestions for a fix?

Is this problem going to be fixed? I don't want to have to check my yahoo mail through the app...I should be able to continue to check it in the general mail app like all of my other e-mail accounts that aren't having syncing issues after the recent 8.1.3 update.
That is a good question to ask Yahoo, as you're using their email account.  This has no bearing on your iphone or Apple.
this has nothing to do with ios 8.1.3 this issue has been ongoing before that, you can search yahoo email and you'll see all the threads about Yahoo email account.

  • Unable to receive Yahoo mail after upgrading to iOS 5.01

Need help resolve problem on receiving Yahoo mails after upgrading to iOS 5.01

After upgrading to 5.01, I also am having problems with receiving Yahoo emails. Some emails seems to get pushed and download fine from the server. Emails with attachments will show up one minute and then disappear off the screen again. I know they are not being deleted because I can check them on my laptop just fine. When I do get an email to stay on the screen, it says "this message has not been downloaded from the server." At random times, yahoo will try to check for mail and say connection failed to server or something like this. This only started happening since 5.01. I have also tried recreating the account on the phone, but that did not help. Any ideas?
