IOS 8.1.2 make my wifi slown like a pregnant slug

i guys,
I have an iphone 6 and Ipad Air2 on ios 8.1.2.
Sometimes I go to a hotel next to my house who have a 6meg/sec wifi!!
My laptop (samsung) download very rapidly, but Ipad AIr2 and Iphone 6 seems to download very slowly. Bluetooth cant connect to my ipad. Keep searching
Is it me or I feel that IOS 8.1.2 killed my wifi. in Town, my wifi keeps switching to 3G time to time. 3G very average as well?
any clues? I did a full restore,, reset all setting, reset network setting, install a JB fix for wifi. no luck

Hi, I never heard of a person to say there are so many problems after iOS 8.1 update. I think you need to backup your iPhone to iCloud and iTunes first. Next, tap Settings > General > Reset > Erase all content and settings. After then, you'll need to set up your iPhone. There should be an option 'Restore from iCloud'. If you've backed up your iPhone to iCloud, then choose restore from an iCloud backup. If you're backed up your iPhone to iTunes, then connect your iPhone to iTunes to restore it from the iTunes backup file.

My Photos app works the same on iOS 5 as it did on iOS 4 i.e. I can have a different track for each album. When I select a track for a photo album I then start the slideshow so that it shows the first couple of photos with the track playing - I'm not sure it's necessary to start the slideshow but I always do and it remembers that track for that album.

IOS 7 and the 'greyed out' WiFi problem

Looking for any solutions to this:
I upgraded to iOS 7 with no problems initially
After about 24-36 hrs I noticed I could no longer access websites via the WiFi connection, so I restarted the phone (a 4S on the Bell Canada network).
Since then, the WiFi slider has been greyed out and I can't access WiFi networks - with the exception of about an hour or two coincidentally around the time of the 7.0.2 release.
The WiFi button on the control centre appears to work, but of course doesn't actually function as designed.
So far I've tried the following:
Power on & off
Reset the phone (home & power buttons until Apple logo shows)
Reset network settings
Various versions of having the phone in or not-in airplane mode while doing the above
Renaming the phone without appostrophies.
Reinstalling iTunes & re sync
Upgrading to 7.0.2
Completely wiping the phone and reinstalling everything from iTunes (painful, I know)
Going into the store that sold me the phone (I won't say here, but they weren't very nice about Apple)
None of the above have worked.
Some reading suggests it could be the phone's chipset, but I'd argue that as it's connected to WiFi just fine a couple if times.
The only idea I've read and not yet got round to trying involves freezing the handset.
Anyone else with any other ideas?

I've been reading up on this 4S wifi greyed out topic for the past several days too. I have a 5 and I don't have the wifi greyed out problem (knock on wood).
There's been quite a huge volume of discussion on this issue, with some people suggesting that there is a hardware defect, while others finding it just too coincidental that so many people would have this same problem on the same occassion, ie upgrade to iOS7 or 7.0.1 or 7.0.2.
The strangest thing about this: there's a user, carolinelewis, who is on her second new replacement 4S from Apple but they still show wifi greyed out after a while!

Some people swear by the freezer method, some say the hot dryer method worked for them. Some say using either methods would get it fixed, some say the problem returns after some days.
My thoughts is that both freezer and hot dryer methods are actually taking the phone out of its operational temperature range.
Environmental requirements of 4S:
Operating temperature: 32° to 95° F (0° to 35° C)
Nonoperating temperature: -4° to 113° F (-20° to 45° C)
Relative humidity: 5% to 95% noncondensing
This action may have cause the 4S to do a complete initialization when returned to normal temperature, but these 2 methods appear to be last ditch efforts.
What I'd favor is power cycling the 4S, which can be achieved by running it completely out of battery, as shown in this Youtube video: http://youtu.be/o_ws5srnVVM
then plug in power and just may work for you.

which may work for the 4S on iOS7 (it was posted for iOS6).
The steps this gentleman proposed appears to be worth a try. His strategy is to put the iphone into airplane mode, then do a hard reset.
Now, I have had my Thinkpad (Windows7) laptop's wifi freeze up akin to the behavior of 4S on iOS, ie can't turn on wifi radio via software, just simply refuses to see SSID of wifi router, won't join, etc. I've always been able to get things back to normal by power cycling the laptop. In some freak instances, even shutdown won't work, I would pull the battery out of the laptop to get eveything back to normal.
So my thoughts on this 4S wifi button grey out is that there is something in the iOS7 upgrade process that caused the wifi circuitry to freeze up and need a complete restart from powered down state.
The fact that the iphone doesn't have an easily removed battery makes it harder, and I suspect the freezer and dryer technics are an indirect way of acheiving total power off (battery not supplying power due to extreme high or low temperatures).
Furthermore, I've read that some people fixed their wifi greyed out problem by deleting older apps that may not be fully compatible with iOS7 and thus locking it up. Well, if that were true, then it may explain why the problem returns for some people. We won't know who upgraded which app.
And of course, there are instances where the wifi hardware that happen to be in a marginal state. Kind of like a PC working fine, installing updates, then stalling on reboot because the boot sector failed or some driver got stuck during initialization stage. This may explain why for some people the 4S had been working just fine but got broken wifi after the upgrade.

IOS initial setup: can't set wifi properties eg proxy

Problem: The wizard that starts for setting up a new IOS device lets you select a wifi point to connect to, for which you'll be prompted to enter a password but it's missing the usual ">" menu where you can enter further settings such as a proxy.
If proxy settings are mandatory the device cannot connect to the internet to progress through the wizard.

We still get templates from our clients (who are big corporations) that are all table-based.
Then you don't have much choice. Just make sure that the code is valid before using them.
I tried it in design view but it just inserts the table - I'm not getting the dialog box where you can set the properties.
You should be - I don't recall what it is you have to do to retrieve this. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling?

iOS devices like the iPhone and iPad often have difficulty connecting to a "hidden" network as well.
If you still want to do this......
Open Finder > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click on the Time Capsule icon, then click Edit in the smaller window that appears
Click the Wireless tab at the top of the next page
Click the Wireless Options button near the bottom of the page
Enter a check mark in the box next to Create hidden network
Click Save
Click Update at the lower right of the window and allow a minute for the Time Capsule to restart

No, any update can do this. It has happened to a small number of iPhones after every update since iOS 1.0.1. It almost always is due to a hardware failure.

I got a new laptop for Christmas!! Well, an early 08, which is new in my world.
I have had my Mac mini set up to be my WiFi access for a year or two now and it has worked perfectly for both my husband and my Android phones, as well as his tab, also an Android.
My new laptap makes a WiFi connection (I can transfer files via the WiFi from my old desktop) and it'll connnect to the AppStore, sometimes. But it never connects Safari. It always tells me I don't have an internet connection. Even though System shows me I do...
My internet is via Hughes Net Satellite and the modem is connected via ethernet cable to my Mac mini.
What am I missing?

Your ios 7 has broken my wifi connection on my ipad. I hve a brand new router 30hrs old. My ipad 2 is not jail broken, jst ios 7 broken! Turning my router on and off could possibly break this also. Entropy seems solid!
My iphone 4 has no issue with ios 7 nor my apple tv!? This is becoming very fustrating nd quite annoying, I never had a problem with ios 6. Issue purely with
ios 7. Had to have telephone connections checked also, no luck! Have also spent monies on xtra GB, problem still persists, making it very unreliable to wrk with product! Would like to remain with product? If problem can be contained and rectified. Confidence is quite low in remaining with company. Can there be a speedier solution to this unreliable update, thats just manifesting in my ipad2 before it becomes stagnant. Since posting this hopeful delima, iOS 7 has stayd connected for at least a solid 12 hrs+, iCloud backup has now been running more than 5.5 hrs with no interruptions, storage information at top of page has also disappeared indicating a backup rate of 60% success, f this b my new iOS, I only have heart crossd, not fingers. Future update, Probable. Hopefully finger on the button, Confidence, High!!!
So far wifi still connected

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app
    •    Tap on Wi-Fi
    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

try unplugging the router for a few minutes (restarting it).
While waiting for it to restart, turn Wi-Fi off/on on your iPhone, then reset network settings in Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings

My mini Ipad says I haven't backed it up to iCloud for 2 weeks. Back ups happen when this ipad is plugged in, locks, and connected to wifi. The ok button doesn't work, I can't open settings to make sure wifi is connected. Nothing works!!!

Remember you can only build an iPad app using your Single Edition solution (which is included in your CC membership). So you'd need a Pro or Enterprise version of DPS to be able to create the Android version.
You can create pop-ups in InDesign using the slideshow options and a multi-state object. But it's all manual labour so you'll spend a lot of time on this, also depending on the layout of your design.

I have taken it back to the Apple store genius bar, but they say they don't see anything wrong. Well unless you use it all day and experience the problems when they happen, you wont see anything wrong. But there are lots wrong with it. But this would be the same store as I purchased the phone. And they backed up my old Iphone 4, but were not able to get anything to load back onto my new phone. So, I lost pretty much everything. But over time, some of my contacts have started showing up, although i am still missing over 800 of them.
