IOS 8.1 - after update how can I get my lost calendar data back?

Hi, after the update to iOS 8.1 is my calendar empy. All my appointements are gone and there is no way to safe new appointments in it. I tried to use the backup of the data, but it did not work. Any clou how can I get my lost calendar data back? And or get the calendar working again???

You sign into whatever iCloud or Mail account the calendar was synced to, and enable the Calendar option for those accounts.

You'll have to resync using your own computer. It should restore from your backup.

How can I get my address book data back?

After upgrading to OS6, my address book has gone from almost a thousand entries to being totally empty.
This is a *very* big deal for me bc I have no address book application on my PC.
I had always assumed that if iTunes were backing up my iPod, that I would be able to restore from those backups, but now I cannot figure out how to tell iTunes to restore from a backup. I've got a backup... just cannot restore from it.
There's got to be a way.... and I'm probably looking right at it and not seeing it.

It has been a very long time since I used 10.1.5 but Address Book data is not stored in a .plist file.
The Address Book data should be located in an Addresses folder at Home > Library > Addresses.
Locate this folder and with the Address Book application quit, move it back to the proper location.

The app has nothing to do with it. IF you set up the service (usually done when you first set up the phone) on the phone, then you can log into icloud.com and track it from there if it is turned on and connected to either the cellular network or WiFi and it has not already been wiped.

How can I get my lost contact information back?

I have to get the replaced iPhone due to the problems that I had with the old one. Everything was backup on my PC. Last night, when I was trying to sync it and get the info back, I got my texts and pictures back but all my contact information and apps that I've purchased. and since it was sync I assumed the previous information are lost. I know I have the backup from the day before chaning my iphone saved on my PC but I don't know how to get them back. I have above 300 contact info. Please advise.

If the apps exist in the iTunes library on the computer, connect the new iPhone and tell iTunes what to sync.
If the contacts are synced to a supported application or cloud service, as they are designed to be, then set that up on the device.
If the contacts were simply stored on the device, then they were restored when restoring from backup.

The problem is: I never had the compatible versions. But I want them, I'd buy them if I could.
So I'm stuck with my Ipod, which can't be upgraded anymore to higher IOS versions, and with the appstore, that does not offer older versions; versions that have existed and still exist, perhaps in the recycle bin of some users, or somewhere in the appstore servers.
I know, its a policy, just to sell more devices. Will not work with me. I'm not buying more Ipods

Try updating it on your computer. If you get a message that your iPhone is up to date then you actually have an iPhone 4, not a 4s.
Settings > General > About > Model number. What does it show?

The iphone is designed to be synced to your computer regularly. Your contacts will be in whatever program ( outlook, address book, etc) that you have been synxing. Sync them back.
If you have failed to sync them, then they are likely gone. You can try restoring from backup.

Define "everything" because if you've tried everything then your last recourse is:
1 - restore your backup copy of your iPhoto Library created just prior to your Yosemite upgrade or
2 - Starting over from scratch with new library
Start over with a new library and import the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from your original library as follows:
1. Open the library package like this.
2. Launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
3. Drag the subfolders of the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from the open iPhoto Library package into the open iPhoto window a few at a time.
This will create a new library with the same Events (but not necessarily the same Event names) as the original library but will not keep the metadata, albums, books slideshows and other projects.
Note: your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired.

Your purchases are tied to your Apple ID. If you bought all of the books with the old ID then AFAIK you will have to continue to use that ID in order to continue to sync those books to the iPad.
You have to update the app with the old ID so I don't see how you could keep the books with the new ID. Maybe I am wrong about this, but someone else will chime in I'm sure and correct me if I am wrong.
