IOS 8.1 Camera focus

Hi,
After updating to iOS 8.1, I have noticed that in the camera app, the default "square" focus position is not center with the hairlines in either square mode or photo mode. Anyone notice this as well ??

Camera isn't functioning or has undesired image quality
If the screen shows a closed lens or black image, force quit the Camera app.
If you do not see the Camera app on the Home screen, try searching for it in Spotlight. If the camera does not show up in the search, check to make sure that Restrictions are not turned on by tappingSettings > General > Restrictions.
Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from any obstructions. Use a microfiber polishing cloth to clean the lens.
Cases can interfere with the camera and the flash. Try gently cleaning the lens with a clean dry cloth or removing the case if you see image or color-quality issues with photos.
Try turning iPhone off and then back on.
Tap to focus the camera on the subject. The image may pulse or briefly go in and out of focus as it adjusts.
Try to remain steady while focusing:
Still images: Remain steady while taking the picture. If you move too far in any direction, the camera automatically refocuses to the center.
Note: If you take a picture with iPhone turned sideways, it is automatically saved in landscape orientation.
Video: Adjust focus before you begin recording. You can also tap to readjust focus while recording. Exiting the Camera application while recording will stop recording and will save the video to the Camera Roll.
Note: Video-recording features are not available on original iPhone or iPhone 3G.
If your iPhone has a front and rear camera, try switching between them to verify if the issue persists on both.

IOS 5 Camera Focus Issue

Has anyone noticed that ever since updating to iOS 5, the iPhone camera seems to have a much harder time focusing? Before iOS 5, the camera app would usually make very small and quick adjustments to the focus when the picture changes. With iOS 5, the camera frequently goes through the whole focus cycle (goes completely blurry, then refocuses).
This frequent complete refocusing, which takes about a second each time, makes the camera more sluggish than before. I've missed some good shots because the camera is busy focusing.
I've tested the camera on iPhone 3GS, 4, and 4S; all running either iOS 5 or 5.0.1. They all exhibit the same behavior.
Is this behavior intentional/by design, or is Apple planning to address this in a future software update?

There is no indication that the phone is roaming. One is on 3G, the other is on the slower EDGE data connection. They are both connected to Verizon for voice and data.

Camera focus in the dark

The new iOS 5 doesn't let the camera focus in the dark using the flash, on my iPhone 4 and 4s either! It's a bug in ios 5 for sure!

I would recommend the Camera+ app from the iTunes Store.
It allows you to switch the LED on in still mode so you can focus in the dark.

TS1776 I have an iphone 3gs on firmware 4... and ios 7 just came out and it wont support the iphone 3gs so i cant do anything with the phone.....any way to get ios 6?

One thing you can try is to reset (reboot) your iPad. Hold both the Home and Sleep buttons for several seconds until the Apple logo appears. Ignore the "Slide to power off" arrow. The iPad will restart after a couple of minutes. Resetting this way will not hurt anything, and sometimes clears up mysterious problems.
If that does not help, your iPad may be defective. If it is in warranty, show it to an Apple Store Genius. If the Genius can not fix it, you may get a replacement iPad on the spot.
If your warranty has expired, or there is no Apple Store near you, look for an Apple Authorized Repair Center. There may be one in your city. <Apple Authorized Repair Centers>

Camera focus incorrect BBOS 10.3.0.908

Using my Passport device, the camera focuses frequently incorrect. When I tap on the screen first it is in focus, and then blurred again. OS is freshly installed using Blackberry Link recovery. Diagnostics doesn't show an error. Is this a known bug, fixed in the upcoming version?

for pictures, I have stopped using the camera (for now). The software is not fast enough for me, especially the focusing can focus then defocus just when I take the picture.
I now use a third party app named Camera+, it is gorgeous and twice as fast as the stock camera.

IOS 7 Apple camera app - image size vs other camera app's image size

Is there a way to change the image size on the IOS 7 Apple camera app. On the iPhone 5s the image is 2448x3264, correct, and the image size was 1.96Mb. The Camera+ is 3.63Mb and CameraAwesome was 1.57Mb. I can adjust the image size with Camera+ and did so. If the Apple Camera app is not adjustable then it looks like there is significant reduction in the resolution of images, at least compared to C+.

Droid Razor - having trouble with camera focusing

Is anyone else having trouble with their camera focusing? A lot of my pictures come out blurry and out of focus. Sometimes, it's like my camera focuses and then looses it as it snaps....am I doing something wrong? Anyone?
And I HATE the take button....wish it was on the top or something instead of on the screen.

Are you using the stock camera app? There's a couple of things to be aware of. Make sure the focus square has turned green so that you know it's ready. You can change the focus point in the stock camera app by touching anywhere on the screen. Also, I have not found the zoom to be very useful - the pics are almost always blurry. It's a digital zoom so imho you're better off to not use it and just crop the picture yourself.   It's the only thing I don't like about the camera/software.
If you really hate using the button to take pictures, try another app like Camera ZOOM FX.   Many people prefer it to the stock camera app and there is a place in the settings where you can set it so tapping anywhere on the screen will take a picture, as opposed to being the focus point as it is in the stock app.
Finally, I know it sounds basic, but be sure you have adequate light and try to not flinch when you press the take button. The phone is so small that any movement like that will likely cause blur.   The other app I mentioned also has a stabilization setting, where it won't take a picture unless a certain degree of stabilization is present so you might also like that. It does not have a video function however.

Warranty is valid only in country of original purchase. You have to return
the iPhone to the US for evaluation. Either you return it personally or send
it to a friend/relative/co-worker in the US to take into Apple. Apple will not
accept international shipments for evaluation nor will Apple ship out of the
country after repair/replacement.
Have you tried the standard trouble shooting steps: restart, restore, restore
as new iPhone?

Try a reset ...
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
No data is lost due to a reset.

New Lenovo Miix 2 10 camera focus issue

I just bought the new version of Miix 2 10 silver with the Intel Atom Z3740 and I found that the main back camera is absolutelly not useable. All pictures are max blur, not focused like on the phones before 8 years. I really do not want to beleive that this device has no camera focus and I will not take any sharp picture. If I take picture from 30cm, 1m or 5 meters all are same and crazy not focused. Any help please? I am really sad.

This is the design problem in Miix. There is foam cushing in the rear cover pressing the camera. Due to the pression, the camera can not focus. You have to remove by you. Lenovo will not do for you. Openning the back cover is much more easier than openning any smartphone. Use a plastic pryer. Use softer foaming to secure the camera!

If you have not set up iCloud backup or backed up using iTunes, all data on the phone was lost once it entered recovery mode.
Your only option is to restore it and start new.
