IOS 8.1 crashed

Hi all,
just tried to update my iPhone 6 to iOS 8.1. The OTA installation asked me to connect to iTunes. After doing this the installation crashed with error code 56 while updating the firmware.

I have the exact same problem, error 56.
I get the iTunes restore screen but the restore fails 90% of the way through.
I tried an over the air update last night that caused it.
My phone often gets stuck in extended reboot loops and shows either red or blue screen on the reboot loop.
The phone is un-restoreable now and I can't get a genius appointment for a week. I  paid nearly £800 and it's unusable, disappointed is not the word.

  • Anyone know the reason why app store in iOS 6 is crashing all the time?

Anyone know the reason why app store in iOS 6 is crashing all the time?
Tried everything. Reset my iPod touch to fresh version of iOS 6 and still issues. I believe that there is a bug.
APPLE: please FIX ALL THE BUGS IN IOS 6!!!!!! Please do it fast!!!

I am having the same problem, but I think I might know what's causing it.  I just updated my girlfriend's iPhone 4S (same phone as mine) to iOS 6 and was surprised to find that her app store is working just fine.  When I opened hers, however, I did notice that the "Categories" and "Top 25" buttons are totally different; and those happen to be the two buttons that are not working for me.  Mine shows the same that yours does, while hers has the "Genius" and "Charts" buttons in the place of the two that are not functioning for me.  I believe these old buttons are no longer active and therefor are bombing out when attempting to access them.
Now I said I think I may understand the problem, but unfortunately I have no idea what the solution may be.  Hopefully this tread doesn't fade away and our problem gets addressed.

  • Any ideas? In the history may iPad never crashed but after updating to iOS 5 it crashed every 30 minutes, and browsing is very slow

Any ideas? In the history may iPad never crashed but after updating to iOS 5 it crashed every 30 minutes, and browsing is very slowAny ideas? In the history may iPad never crashed but after updating to iOS 5 it crashed every 30 minutes, and browsing is very slow

I found the reason why our iPads are slow after iOS 5!!!!!!!
What you need to do is this:
    1) launch settings, go to mail contacts and calendars, go to fetch new data, advanced, and set iCloud to fetch.
    2) go back and set an interval of when to fetch. Mine is set for thirty minutes.
    3) make sure on top push is still on, that means that all your emails will still be pushed, but all the iCloud sync (contacts, calendars, reminders, bookmarks) will happen at the interval you choose.
Restart the device. Your performance should be 10x faster! No more keyboard lag, nothing! Doing this puts less stress on the A4 chip, which we know we need every bit we can get with it now!!!
    Optional:
    1) in the settings, go to safari.
    2) clear all history and cookies/data
    3) enable private browsing. One of the biggest reasons why devices are slow is because it keeps all the history and cookies in the RAM. You need more RAM to make things faster. By turning on private browsing, it never records it!

  • Sky Go & iOS 8.3 Crashing

If you are experiencing this issue we'd really appreciate it if you could supply the following information to help us with our investigations.
    -          Where, when, how and what occurs?
    -          How often does it occur?
    -          Which device are you using?
    -          Which OS is your device on?
    -          Is the issue recoverable ? If so, what did you have to do?
    Thank you very much.

Re: Sky Go & iOS 8.3 Crashing: sky app developer peeps - I really hope below helps you sort out these bugs: -          Where, when, how and what occurs? When using 3G (on train with signal most of the time) I start Sky Go> open downloads> and press any of my downloads. The video plays for about 6 secs, then crashes and sends me back to iOS apps homepage. Then i try it again, go to start the same video,  The screen goes black with just X in top right. I have to force quit the app. grrr. I try again. Then after a third time, i get lucky and the video starts playing. i never get any fault codes. Sometimes if the black screen with X top right happen twice, i try it all again and the app sky go homepage upon re start up is magnified 300% and placed into the top right, leaving only a quarter crop of the whole app interface available to view. This is just mental only viewing a quarter of the interface and video to view! Also on the app 'catchup' page with the scroll down categories underneath the main feature carousel - only scrolls half way from 'ITV ...to...Dave. you cannot view what is below that all the way to nick Jr. Only by flicking the above feature carousel righstt and then back left, can you then access the entire catch up category list. -          How often does it occur?the crash symptoms occur Every time. I launch and sometimes it takes several attempts to get Sky Go working. -          Which device are you using?iPhone 5S -          Which OS is your device on?iOS 8.3 -          Is the issue recoverable ? If so, what did you have to do?Relaunching the app several times, or sometimes restarting the phone. On 2 occasions this year i've had to delete the app, restart phone and re install.  Again, i hope you guys can iron these bugs out. The skygo content is great. Better than iplayer, netflix and the rest. However, The overall experience is not enjoyable to say the least. regards, Nicola

ios 8 keeps crashing on my iPad 2. Has anyone got a solution to this. My iPad 2 was great before upgrading. It's so bad that now I want to throw my iPad out so if anyone has tips to enhance my iPads performance please share.

I would read up on restoring your device
    Restore
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
Especially if you installed the update over the air,  a restore, which will use a computer to install the iOS again sometimes helps. There seems to be better results from doing it via iTunes than over the air

  • How do I get help reinstalling my Adobe creative suite 6 after IMAC IOS 10.8 crashed?

How do I get help reinstalling my Adobe creative suite 6 after IMAC IOS 10.8 crashed?  Apple had to reinstall operating system and all programs & data were lost.  Adobe System say serial number valid, but qualifying product can not be found on this computer.

When you're installing Adobe upgrades, there are two ways of doing it:
Have an existing, qualifying version already installed. Install the upgrade and enter your upgrade serial number. The installer will detect the earlier qualifying version already installed and the upgrade will finish installing. That is not your scenario.
The second option (and easiest on new computers with no Adobe software previously installed) is to simply install the latest version (usually an upgrade) and enter your upgrade serial number. That's what you've done so far.
The installer will look for an earlier version already installed on your computer. If it cannot find one, it will prompt you to enter the serial number from an earlier version. Once you enter the earlier qualifying version serial number, the upgrade installer will complete the installation. If you cannot find an earlier version serial number then the upgrade will not be licensed and will go into trial mode. From there you can use it for 30 days until it will no longer launch.

The screen darkens and then black.
After a few seconds, the apple and the login screen comes back.
Sometimes the intervals between the crashes long or short ...
Once I do now to recover, and see if anything improved.
    I hope it works!

If a restore from backu does not fix the problem, try a restore to factory defaults/new iPad.

  • Since updating to iOS 7 iTunes crashes and will not load on my 4s

Since updating to iOS 7 iTunes crashes and will not load on my 4s

I tried resetting to factory and that worked for a couple of hour then I ended up with iTunes crashing again. So I logged out and logged back in and so far so good. This has kept me working for 3 days now so I won't guarantee a fix but it seems to have worked.
Go to Settings->iTunes & App Store click on your login email and select logout. I closed all of my open apps at this time and restarted my phone which was probably an overabundance of caution, but I wanted to ensure any temporary files were gone. Log back in and hopefully all will work for you.
    Good luck.

  • IOS 7.1 crashes and reboots FaceTime audio

After a duration of at least 20 minutes using FaceTime Audio, my iPhone 5 running iOS 7.1 crashes, and reboots.

I have tried the Audio Facetime over the cellular data plan and it does the same thing.
I guess we will have to wait for the next update to solve the problem.

  • Ios 5 apps crashing

My iPad (original (64G, wifi) was running fine on ios 5 until a couple of days ago. Now multiple apps can not stay open for more than a few minutes without crashing (ie: GoodReader, Economist, Note Taker HD, System Status). I can just open them and wait for them to crash.
I have the app "System Status" and it shows the apps crashing because of low memory. I have:
    1. done a reset mulitple times (hold the home and power keys until the apple logo appears) -- seems to make things a little better but still not usable.
2 I did a restore from backup with no change. I am trying to avoid doing a clean install.
    3. I did "Reset All Settings" -- more time before crashing but still crashing
Strangely after restarting the iPad after a crash and looking at the CPU Usage, it has a high percentage of use even though the only thing running is System Status -- though maybe this is a reflection of System Status.
Here is a partial log from the iPad per System Status after doing a "Reset All Settings" and running "Note Taker HD" have having it crash on that several times and then running "System Status" and it crashing too:

  • Stage3D Recording Causes iOS App to Crash

Wanted to give a heads up on a major Scout crash:
I have a pretty good gigabit ethernet and wasn't downloading anything at the time, but with Stage3D Recording turned on, my iOS app crashed due to 150MB worth of Network Buffers, which I assume is a bunch of Stage3D data that is queued up. When I turned Stage3D off, there was no Network Buffer memory issue and no crash.
    Session Info:
    Runtime: 11.6.602.161
    AIR: 3.6.0.5920
    SWF ver 19
    iOS 6.1.2 iPad2

Unfortunately Stage3D recording does use up a lot of memory, because it's sending every single mesh and texture over wifi to Scout. If your game has a lot of 3D resources then this could cause it to run out of memory - in this case, it's not AIR that's crashing, but the OS is killing it because of it using too much memory.
My suggestion would be to do Stage3D recording when running your content on desktop (e.g. in a simulator), since you won't have these memory constraints. If you're deep-diving into rendering, then you should be able to solve your problems on the desktop, since the rendering is the same. Profiling on device is best for looking into performance and memory issues, since you absolutely have to run it on the target platform in order to meaningfully see what's going on.

  • IOS release build crashes instantly

I have an app which works great on the AIR simulator, the iOS simulator, Android, etc... However, on a real iOS device, it immediately crashes on launch after the splash screen is drawn. I have looked in the Organizer under XCODE to see the system log, and it looks mysterious:

    =============
first there are all these messages about too many files. First I don't open any files. I don't even think my release build emits any tracing information via "print" either, just in case this error relates to "print" commands which go to stdout not being redirected somehow..
if I do a debug version on the device it works, even the "slow to build, but fast" style of release version. Just the release build fails, and of course the production build also fails. I already got a rejected app submission from apple because the home screen comes up blank.
My app is super simple; it doesn't do squat on the home screen, draws a vector graphic scaled to the screen. Very few objects, negligible memory consumption. It has to be a bug in the packager because if it works in the simulator, it is supposed to work on the production machine.  Anyone have a clue as to why an app fails to run?

    Hi,
Thanks for sharing the files, we've been able to reproduce the issue and are investigating the issue at our end.
The issue is reproducible on non-interpreter targets (ipa-test, ipa-app-store, ipa-ad-hoc) with just a white screen shown after the initial welcome screen is shown for a second. You can use the bug # 3503058 for future reference.
    Thanks once again.

  • Ios 5.0 crash on preferences mail, contacts, calendar

I hava a Iphone4 and have upgraded to IOS 5.0. Since then when selecting prefereces>Mail,Contacts, Calendars the Preferences Screen crashes. Result: I cant change email preferences anymore... any Ideas what to do?

this worked for me: (thanks to @fortbailey!)
    (1) If your iPad/phone is syncing contacts with iCloud, turn it off. In Settings on your iPad/phone, Mail,Contacts,Calendars, Accounts, iCloud, turn off Contacts.
    (2) sync your iPad/phone to iTunes.
    (3) now select the ‘Info’ tab in iTunes for your iPad/iPhone. Ensure that ‘Sync Address Book Contacts’ is ticked. (You can revert to syncing with iCloud later, after this process is complete.)
    (4) scroll to the very bottom section of the Info tab. Where it says ‘Replace information on this iPad/iPhone’, select ‘Contacts’.
    (5) Sync again.
Now check Calendars on iPad/iPhone, this process ‘fixes’ the information of birth dates and they should now appear correctly.
