IOS 8.3 battery life

HI, I want to expous my angry about the recent upload of the iOS 8.3 softwear in my iPhone 6. iOS 8.3 it is killing my battery life with a normal using, actually I have been using my phone only 4 houre, and 2 of them it was in standby and my battery is 55%. I don't know what they fix or improve, but they ruin a battery that is "bad" in comparative with the others smartphones.
Plis find a solution/update to this softwear because I am sure that this isn't an individual problem, and it must be solve, because a phone with no battery life is just a paperwaght

here it does not look different. an insolence of apple, nothing more!

  • HT1476 ever since I upgraded to ios 7, the battery life is very short and I do not use my ipad all that much.l have been on the phone to apple 3 times, turning off all kinds of things I so not use and have powered off more than before but it is still poor

ever since I upgraded to ios 7, my battery life is very short. I do not use the ipad all that much and have to charge it twice as much as before. I have been on the phone to Apple 3 times and turned off a number of things that I am not using and now power it off more regularly but still not happy with battery life. It is less than a year old and as I said, I don' t use it all that much

My best bet would be to restore the phone. Back it up to itunes, and then reset it Factory settings. This way, any corrupt software will be removed, and you can start fresh. Make sure you back it up first. By the sounds of it, you are using the phone for business and probably need the data from it. Hope this helps!

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. In rare instances when using the Camera Connection Kit, you may notice that iPad does not charge after using the Camera Connection Kit. Disconnecting and reconnecting the iPad from the charger will resolve this issue.

  • Upgrade to IOS 5.1 battery life is a issue for me now.

Upgrade to IOS 5.1 battery life is a issue for me now. 2 hours and battery drained 25 %  with only a few text messages sent. And why hasnt direction/map search for siri in canada still not working?
    what the &%*@ apple?
safe to say, this is my first iphone and last.

I would hope that "addressed" is a nice way of saying they fixed the bugs they introduced in earlier releases. I mean, if you address the situation without actually resolving it, what value is that?
If you didn't have a battery life issue in 5.0.1 and you now have one in 5.1, that's obviously disturbing. Since you're not near a Genius Bar, you can always try the standard routine:
    - Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings
    - Set up as a new phone and NOT restore from backup. Try running as a clean phone with no third-party apps and see if that makes a difference before restoring your apps.
If you check Settings -> General -> Usage what are the numbers? Does "Usage" have a high value you wouldn't expect?
Does the phone seem warm while it's not being used? That's indicative of a process that is running in a loop and draining battery even while you're not using it.

  • Ios 7.1 battery life drains fast

should improve battery life in ios 7.1 to last longer

My fix finally ended up being to change my ExchangeSync mail service to Pull and not Push. Battery life now resembles normalcy. Only need Apple to patch the iOS to remedy this problem. Please HURRY!!!

  • With the new iOS 7 - how do you turn off previously viewed app's like the previous iOS to save battery life?

Before I updated to the new iOS - I was able to turn off app's by tapping the bottom button twice and then placing and holding my finger on the app - I can't do that with the new OS and it quickly wastes battery life.  What can I do?

Double click on the Home button. Swipe left-right to view the previously opened apps. Swipe UP to close them.

  • IOS 7 affected battery life

My battery life was affected after IOS 7 update.  Any ideas

OK, some of the things in iOS 7 default to on, so you might want to run through the settings and turn off things that might be causing this drain on your battery.  Also, when you start using a new iOS version, the usual thing is to use your phone more or less constantly, so you just might be draining the battery by trying new things.  Give it a week, and see if it is better, but DO check to make sure battery draining things aren't on that you don't need.

  • IOS 4 reduces battery life on my iPod touch 2nd Gen

Before I updated my iPod touch to iOS 4 my iPod touch could stay in sleep mode for weeks, but now with iOS 4 it can't last a day in sleep mode. I believe this is because iOS 4 keeps the WiFi on even when in sleep mode. In iPhone OS 3.1.3 the WiFi would turn off when in sleep mode, in iOS 4 Wifi is always on allowing my apps to look for notifications all the time and that is what I think is the problem. In iPhone OS 3.1.3 I could have Mail fetch new data every 15 minutes without impacting the battery life in any way. I tried doing the same in iOS 4 and the battery couldn't last 6 hours.
The problem with iOS 4 is that the WiFi is on at all times, even when it is in sleep mode, something Apple needs to fix in the next update.

The answer, I regret to say, can be found in [this thread|http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=11987618#11987618|Th e sad truth about iPod/iPhone battery life].
It basically boils down to using iTunes to perform the "Restore" to factory settings.
The fact of the matter is that it could be WiFi, Notifications, multi-tasking (even if 2nd Gen iPods do support it) or a thousand other things. The only thing I can save for sure is that there are deep, system level settings that are either corrupt or, most likely, obsolete. Settings that vary so widely from user to user that the only one can be certain that they have all been eliminated is to flush them all and start over.
Not a very scientific solution, but an effective one.
If you find this suggestion ludicrous and unreasonable, feel free to read my other posts on the topic. You'll find me to be a confederate.

  • IOS 7.1 Battery Life Fix

I updated my iPhone 4S to iOS 7.1 and after a couple of weeks decided that the battery was draining faster than it used to.  Not some of the super fast 50% in an hour kind of drain, but I was not getting a full day out of it.
I did everything I could think of and tried all the fixes I found in these discussions with one exception that I will get to shortly.  I did resets, I shut down everything running in the background, I did full battery charge cycles, I shut of any Location Service that I didn't need, I set my email to manually fetch, etc. etc.
I was still seeing a fairly rapid drain on my battery.  So I decided to do a Reset All Settings reset and this seems to have helped.  I held off on this because it is annoying to have to go back in and reset all the settings I had already tweaked but it seems to have done the trick.  I can now get a full day out of my phone and don't have to sit with it plugged in to the charger everytime I get back to my desk.
So if you are having a slow battery drain, or even a fast one, I would recommend doing a Reset All Settings reset and see if it helps you.  It seems to have done the trick for me.

  • Does turning on AssistiveTouch in iOS negatively impact battery life?

Also, does anyone know what the 'Always Show Menu' option does and/or why it's grayed-out in 5.0.1?

I'd also like to know how to enable the "Always Show Menu" toggle.

  • Is it preferrable to use iPhone 5 to accommodate the new iOS 6 than maintaining my current iPhone 4S? The battery life is not that good after updating my iPhone 4 S to iOS 6.

I've updated my iPhone 4S with the latest iOS 6 but battery life had never improved as I expected. A friend of my had recently replace his iPhone 3GS with iPhone 5 and both us compared our simillar daily usage of browsing, emails with attachments (work related), messaging (via iMessage, WhatsAppa, WeChat) games, facebook, tweet, uploading, etc, it seems that iPhone 5 last longer by 35-40% compared to my iPhone 4S. By. The time he hits 60-55% on his iPhone 5, my iPhone 4S Is less than 15%... My Questions to the community or any Apple Consultant, is it preferrable to replace my beloved iPhone 4S with iPhone 5 in order to accommodate the performances of iOS 6 and the "coming soon" iOS 7? Is it a practise to replace every iPhone when there's a new iOS update? Please advise.

It largely depends on how much money you are prepared to spend.
Your question is much like asking "I have last year's model car.  This year, the car has some new features.  Should I trade in last year's model and get this year's?"  Well, maybe.  It's your call.
Each newer generation introduces some new features and capabilities.

  • My Iphone 4S has far less battery life since before I downloaded IOS 7.1,  Is there a bug in this IOS that wears the battery down faster?

Since I downloaded IOS 7.1 my phone (4S) battery won't last more than eight hours and takes three or four hours to charge.  There must be a bug in this IOS that affects battery life.

  • I updated both iPad and iPhone to iOS 7.06. Battery lif goes extremely fast, maybe a tenth of what it was.

I updated to the latest version of the iOS. My battery life on both iPad and iPhone have dropped to nothing. My phone goes dead by noon. I have turned off every "push" locator, everything I can think off. Is anyone else having this trouble?

On my iPad 3, I noticed with the update to iOS 7.0.6 that it turned on features by default that I had previously turned off, such as Bluetooth. You might want to check to see if active features are now turned on that you previously turned off. Some of them, like Bluetooth, will cause an additional drain on the battery.

  • HT1414 IT SEEMS LIKE EVER SINCE I UPDATED MY 4s TO THE OS 6 MY BATTERY LIFE HAS BEEN CUT WAY DOWN!!!  I NEVER HAD TO CHARGE THE BATTERY THROUGHOUT THE DAY LIKE I AM NOW WITH THE OS6 UPDATE
