Ios 8.3 losing clipboard information

Since updating to ios 8.3, my clipboard data doesn't seem to stick around.  Almost like theres a timeout.  This is annoying because I use it for inserting the same bit of text quite often.
Not a signature, but actually during a login for a game app... I use several accounts in this game as "farms" with the same basic email domain, and now its forgetting the @emaildomain.com that I use.  Seems to forget after a period of time.
I'm wondering what changed, is this a security thing, etc?

Are you familiar with what the issue is jazcan? It isn't full wifi outages (well for some people it actually is, but for whatever reason their device doesn't reconnect-- there appear to be many reasons).
For mine, it is intermittent drops in connection.  For web browsing and casual use this isn't an issue because it'll pick the connection up right away after-- for anything else requiring a consistent connection you'll get blips and spikes or disconnected (when you need to connect to remote servers).
I've already exchanged my ipad 2 air in for another one and same issues.

  • Is It Possible To Update to iOS 5 Without Losing Content?

    Hi everyone,
My iPhone 3GS was originally synced with my Power Mac G3 iTunes 8.2.1. The hardware was pretty old and wouldn't allow for updates. I have recently purchased the mac mini (mid July 2011) and updated to the latest iTunes, 10.5. I was trying to update my iPhone 3GS to iOS 5 software but iTunes warned me that my music and apps would be lost because it wasn't originally synced with this version of iTunes or something of the sort. How can I update to iOS 5 without losing any apps and my music which wasn't purchased but imported into iTunes 8.2.1?
    Thanks everyone for your help...

Hi miller.p and thanks for responding,
That's a whole nother issue...I have the Power Mac G3 and mac mini connected to one monitor and keyboard using a KVM Switch. I tried using an ethernet crossover cable to transfer the data from the G3 to the mini using Migration Assistant but it says the G3 needs to update to Lion. Mac OS 10.4.11 is the latest software update for the G3.
I have the G3 data backed up on a Western Digital MyBook external HD via firewire 400 but the mini is firewire 800 however, I did see a 9-pin to 6-pin FireWire 800/400 cable by Belkin. Could that be used to transfer the data from the HD to the mini? Sorry if that was too much information...I will check out the link. Thanks...Oh, what about the apps? They are all free downloads, do I have to download them again r does the same apply for them as the music?

  • Updating i phone 5 without losing contact information

Any suggestions for updating an i phone 5 without losing contact information?  My phone has been "acting up" and I figured maybe it's time to update it.  The last time I updated it, I lost about 1/3 of my contact information.  Any tips?

Only if you first make a backup of your phone. Updating iOS will erase everything from the device. Perhaps you should think about using Contacts on your computer to store the information you sync to the phone. Then you won't lose it. Also, think "backup."

It's a little tricky to move data from one iCloud account to another but it can be done. But what makes you think you have 2 iCloud accounts.

I am travelling for a year. I have my iPod touch 4g with me, but not my MacBook. Is there a way I can update to IOS 5 without losing my music, apps, photos..

Yes. get a computer with iTune 10.5 and:
    - Transfer iTunes purchases to the computer:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
    - Transfer other stuff using a third-party program like one of those discussed here.  Most are good for music.  It is harder to find one for other stuff like synced photos.
Copy music from Ipod to new computer...: Apple Support Communities
    - Connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right-clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and selecting Back Up
    - Restore the iPod from backup and sync as neccessary.

  • How can I update my phone to iOS 5 without losing my music, not being able to use computer with my music on it

I can't use the computer I would normally use since the monitor is broken.. how can I update my phone for the latest version iOS 5 without losing my music?

Borrow a monitor from a friend or neighbor. If you update it on a machine other than the one you normally sync with, the music will be lost until you can set it back up to sync with the original iTunes library (or a new library that contains your music).

  • I have an iPad and and iPhone. They share an iCloud and I want separate iCloud accounts. How do I create a new account without losing any information? I want to keep the original account on one device.

I have an iPad and an iPhone that share an iCloud account. I didn't realize when I got my iPad last year that when I signed up the iCloud on the device that it would share and use 5g of iCloud between the both of them. How do I unsync them and have two separate iCloud accounts? I don't care about sharing between them. When my kids put games on my iPad, I don't want them going on my phone. How do I create a new iCloud without losing any info on the other device?

    Hi sugaliko,
You may need to set up your BlueTooth connection to the keyboard again. Use the steps in this article for guidance -

  • I had to recreate my itunes library and now, when i tried to sync my ipod, i got a warning that everything currently on my ipod would be cleared; how do i sync without losing the information currently on my ipod?

Recently I was forced to recreate my entire iTunes library.  My computer shut down unexpectedly and when I restarted it, my iTunes library was gone from the iTunes software.  After *finally* receiving some information from iTunes support about restoring the library (which meant I had to do exactly what I was afraid I would have to do--basically click-and-drag the entire contents from my hard drive back into the library), I wanted to update my iPod with the songs I'd added since the last updating.  And this is where more trouble began.
When I plugged in my iPod to sync it with the library, I got a warning message informing me that the library currently on the iPod would be cleared during the syncing, because the iPod can only be associated with "one" library.  Well, I did NOT want to do that because I wanted to retain the playcount and other information about the songs.  I was also hoping to keep the playlists currently on the iPod.
So, my first instinct was to contact iTunes support.  The only problem there was that going through the Support pages ended up with my needing to call Apple.  I'd attempted that when I first lost the library and was told by the Support associate that ALL iTunes help and support must be done online.  Ironic, huh?  I can't get iTunes support online until I call Apple support to get a direct web address to take me to the express lane help pages.  And, unfortunately, I made the mistake of uninstalling and reinstalling my AOL software and lost ALL of my e-mails with the iTunes support addresses in the process.
So basically, I need to know what to do here.  Is there a way to keep the current iTunes library on my iPod and still syncing with the recreated library or do I just need to accept the loss of the library currently on my iPod?  I may try to call Apple Support and get that iTunes online support address again but I'd really like to get this resolved more quickly.  The last time that I called and then I got the iTunes online help address, it ended up taking 2 days to get that help.

Hi. The two user tips both describe a sequence of steps that should get your library from the point where it threatens to wipe data from your device to where it is syncing normally, while recovering as much information as possible. It may still be necessary to wipe and reload the device but this should only take place once all the data that can be recovered has been recovered.
Doing step 1 of 8 and then complaining things aren't the way you want them to be yet strikes me as premature...
Since you appear to have all your media content, and we are discussing an iPod classic, not an iOS device, the main worries are already taken care of. What's left is ratings, playcounts, playlist membership and checked status. Since your device holds only part of your library at best you could only recover the missing data for the content that is on the device using third party tools.
Recreating the previous checked/unchecked status of every track in your library from where you are now may not be that easy. Syncing with selected playlists has many advantages, one of which would have been that you would have a named playlist that could have been retrieved by 3rd party software if you had used this method.
You haven't explained what caused your problem in the first place, but if you have a Previous iTunes Libraries folder holding old copies of your iTunes database (generated with each iTunes update) then it would be possible to restore the most recent of these and then update the library with any changes in your media folder.
BTW Apple doesn't offer free support for this kind of issue with iTunes.

  • How can I transfer my whole iTunes library from a PC to another without losing any information?

Hi, I have a very large iTunes library which is the result of so many years of listening to music. Although my computer is pretty old and slow and I would like to buy me another one. However, I cannot risk losing all the playcounts, ratings and information that I've been adding through all these years and the "Home Sharing" feature doesn't keep it (more specifically, erases all the ratings and playcounts). So, I would appreciate any advice on how could you do it.
I've read that if you click on "Export library" and then modify it with a text editor changing the location of the main folders it would be a way, but as I said my computer is pretty old and ran out of memory a couple of years ago, and I have like thousands of songs that with this system I should change it manually one by one, and that would take me weeks to do it. There has to be an easier way!
    Thank you in advance!

See this migrate iTunes library post.

  • Trying to sync my iPad and iPhone to a new account without losing all information

Okay here is the situation.  I have an iPhone and an iPad all synced to my iTunes's account.  My fiancé has as iPhone and our new iMac synced to his iTunes account.  I am fully aware that you cannot merge two accounts.  We would like to use his as our primary account since that's what we set up on our iMac. How can I sync the iPhone and the iPad without losing all the information on both?

You will need to connect both to your computer via your USB cord then launch iTunes.  Take a look at this link, http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1386

  • Need to update iOS version without losing content

One of our users has an iPhone 4 with iOS 4.3.5. Their PC at home which they use to synchronise music, photos, etc is broken and they need to upgrade to iOS 5.1, which I could do here in the office, but iTunes says "all content" would be lost.
How can I update their iPhone to iOS 5.1 without losing any content?

    You cannot.
The iPhone is designed to sync to one and only one library.
Attempts to sync (which is required to update) will wipe the content from the device and replace it with content from the new library.
They need to fix or replace their home pc and then upgrade.

  • IOS 7 - iPad losing proxy password after reboot?

    Hi,
After the release of iOS 7, when an  iPad is rebooted or runs out of charge etc... The iPad will lose the proxy password?
It seems to remember the username and proxy address/port.
Apple can you fix this ASAP...
Hundreds of iPad's are in use with Education now requiring a Proxy server/Password etc... and it losing it's settings everytime is NOT acceptable.

For what it is worth, I have seen the exact same thing.  This is clearly a severe Apple bug.
have filed an Apple Bug Report, and you should do the same to make sure they fix this: http://bugreport.apple.com
