IOS 8.3 - No option to delete all photos on iPhone

This is not removing photos from the photo stream
This is removing photos from the phone that are stored on it (4.7GB) currently
This is iOS 8.3
This is Photos app (now apparently after replacing iPhoto)
This is Yosemite 10.10.3
Hi,
While on vacation I ran out of space. Now I know after typically importing photos on a camera you have the option to delete them after.  This doesn't seem to be present with my iPhone.  I tried Image Capture (no option to delete, no action on pressing delete, no action dragging to trash).
I tried opening iPhoto which it informed me my library was imported to Photos.  No problem, browse to my iPhone, and see the photos but no option to delete.
I now download iBrowse thinking I'll just remove them manually .. nothing shown in Photos folder.
Only options I can come up with is using the phone it self either selecting each photo (a ton of them) and doing one by one.
Other filter in Photos is moments.  Which is almost as tedious as one by one.
By Year offers no selection, swiping or otherwise to delete.
All Photos offers no selection, swiping or otherwise to delete.
Importing via Photos or Image Capture offers no option to delete from device.
I'd like to just think this was an accident, or something that has a hidden CMD+Option+D hot key to find some magic menu that lets you delete photos to open up space on the phone, but I can't find anything except years of people being confused about how to do this pre-iOS 8 and Yosemite.
Any ideas other than a full phone reset?

settings > icloud >photos > turn off icloud photo library.
Now when I plug the phone in I get the delete option.  (keep in mind this still unfortunate).
Think this has gotten a bit confusing between 'My Photo Stream' - What is it?  iCloud Photo Library- is this a action or a thing?
And if I'm using the iCloud and want to delete the photo, I have no option to do so unless I either go the one by one, moment by moment or turn off the iCloud photo library, plug in my phone, check that delete after import box and import photos.
The sad thing is I have parents, and other family members that are just totally lost too.
Feels like we need version 2.0 soon.

  • I've transferred. Some photos in my iPhone 4s using the app ''simple transfer'' but I can't find the option to delete those photos from iPhone, if any body knows let me know please??

I've tranferred some photos in my iPhone 4s using the app called simple transfer lite, but still can't find any option to delete those photos, if any body knows how to do this please let me know.

I have a suggestion, noted below,  but I'd like a little more information please.  Are you saying that after you've transfered photos to your PC or Mac you want to then delete them from the iPhone?  If they're photos taken with the iPhone couldn't you just go back into Camera roll and delete them there?
I had a similar situation with my parent's iPhone and iPad.  I synced a couple of folders of photos via iTunes on their laptop to the iPad.  The intent was to use the slideshow feature on the iPad as a digital photo frame.  To save time, I had synced all the photos in the folders, thinking that my mom could delete the pics she didn't want.  After doing this I found I couldn't delete any of the pictures synced this way.  I came to find out that pictures contained in folders synced via iTunes cannot be deleted from the iOS device.
A friend suggested a paid app called PhotoSync.  It's $1.99 and no, I have absolutely no connection to the deveolper.  It's just an app that does exactly what I needed it to do.  After transfering photos you can go into camera roll or an album and delete them.  There is a companion free app that you install on your PC or Mac that makes the transfers very easy.
I have less than 15 apps on my iPhone.  I generally like free apps but, as I've said, I found this app does what I needed to do so I was happy to spend the money.
    Good luck.

YES you can delete all photos with one easy swipe~!!!! I just discovered how by accident when I went to delete my audiobooks for more storage!! You go to SETTINGS > GENERAL > USAGE > PHOTOS & CAMERA > and then just decide what you’d like to remove~~ either (or all) “Camera Roll” “Photo Library” or “Photo Stream” & Swipe to Delete! Happy deleting everyone!!

  • How to delete ALL PHOTOS AT ONCE ?

So, how to delete all photos from iphone 5 with one touch ? Its frustrating to delete pic by pic when you got over 2000 pictures ! And its not enough to go to "moments" and day by day deleting those pics...
My old Nokia 2110 has that luxury feature "select all" and then "delete selected". This is ridiculous from 1000€ device... Not to mention I have new iMac also and I still not can delete all photos at once.
    Help please !

If iCloud Photo Library is enabled:
There is currently no way to delete all photos at once.
If iCloud Photo Library is disabled:
Plug your device into a computer and open your photo import application and it'll allow you to remove all photos.

  • How do I remove all photos from iPhone 5 camera roll to Mac?

How do I remove all 4000 photos from iPhone 5 camera roll to Mac?

Photos/videos in the Camera Roll can be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera. When there are photos/videos in the iPhone's Camera Roll, it is also detected as a digital camera when connected to your computer.
With a Mac, you can use iPhoto for this if you use iPhoto for photo management on your Mac. If not, you can use the Image Capture application for the import. Both include an option to delete all photos/videos from the Camera Roll after the import process is complete.

  • Why can I no longer delete specific messages on my iphone5?  There now is only an option to Delete All i.e. the entire conversation.

Why can I no longer delete specific messages on my iphone5?  There now is only an option to Delete All i.e. the entire conversation.  Can this be resolved.

I don't know what to tell you if you really are running iOS 5 but on iOS 8 when you hold down a message you get the options Copy and More. When you click more you can select a specific message and click the trash can to delete just that message. Check and see if you have that as an option.

  • Every time I sync my Iphone 5c(with ios 8) to Itunes, it 1. deletes all of my purchased music 2. deletes all of my album artwork 3. replaces all of my deleted songs. please help! this is driving me crazy!

Every time I sync my Iphone 5c(with ios 8) to Itunes, it 1. deletes all of my purchased music 2. deletes all of my album artwork 3. replaces all of my deleted songs. please help! this is driving me crazy! It syncs 100+ songs, when I only want to sync 1! I'm running Itunes 11.3.1.2

After having experienced similar problems and having it back to work, I have a few suggestions:
    - Try to find out if the syncing stops at a particular track or song. That might - out of the blue - have gotten corrupted in one way or another. Since that song will not be on the iPod, iTunes will try over and over to put it on and crash in one way or another;
    - reformat the iPod as described in the iTunes 9 crash-thread. It takes time (at first it seems to do nothing, but that is because the green bar is moving with very small steps);

  • All my photos have been imported to iPhoto library. Is it safe therefore to delete all photos in the Finder pictures folder? It seems crazy to have them duplicated (all are backed up externally). And are they full size images in iPhoto?

All my photos have been imported to iPhoto library. Is it safe therefore to delete all photos in the finder picture folder? It seems crazy to have them dupllcated ( all are backed up anyway). And are they the full sized images stored in iPhoto?

Assuming you have iPhoto set to the Default setting, then yes, your full sized photos are copied into the iPhoto Library and so you can delete your own stored in the Finder.
Easiest way to check:  Select a photo in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Reveal in Finder -> Original. A Finder Window should open with the file selected. Is it stored within the iPhoto Library? You can tell easily in the Finder's column view.
    As an FYI:
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:   You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Command-Click for selecting multiple pics.
(Note the above illustration is not a Finder Window. It's the dialogue you get when you go File -> Open)
You can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
There's a similar option in Outlook and many, many other apps.  If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running:
For users of 10.6 and later:  You can download a free Services component from MacOSXAutomation  which will give you access to the iPhoto Library from your Services Menu.
Using the Services Preference Pane you can even create a keyboard shortcut for it.
For Users of 10.4 and 10.5 Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
    Other options include:
Drag and Drop: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
File -> Export: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
Show File:  a. On iPhoto 09 and earlier:  Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.    3.b.
b: On iPhoto 11 and later: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Reveal in Finder -> Original. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

  • Have synced all photos from pc. how to delete unwanted photos on  iphone?

i did not realise i was syncing all photos in my pc to my iphone. there is a lot of junk photos. but i cannot see how to delete them off my iphone. help please

    This is the reason.
Photos in your iPhone's camera roll are not included with the iTunes sync process except for being included with your iPhone's backup, which is created and updated by iTunes as the first step during the sync process.
Photos transferred from your computer to your iPhone via the iTunes sync process, which is selected under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences are not transferred to your iPhone's camera roll.
Photos in your iPhone's camera roll are photos that were captured by your iPhone, or photos saved from a received email or from a website. Photos in your iPhone's camera roll can be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera.
With a Mac, this can be done with iPhoto if you use iPhoto for importing photos from a digital camera and for photo storage and management on your Mac, or with the Image Capture application located in your Applications folder. Both include an option to delete the photos from your iPhone's camera roll after the import process is complete. If you don't want to save these photos, you can delete the photos from iPhoto or from your designated location where the imported photos are saved if you use the Image Capture application for the import.

  • Delete all photos

I've discovered a major issue/bug with the ability to delete all photos on the iPhone. Not only is it difficult to delete all photos with one tap, it's actually not possible.
When you tap the Photos icon from the desktop (by default), you are taken to your albums where there is a Camera Roll album and an edit button. When you tap the edit button, you enter a mode in which you can delete albums. However, the Camera Roll is persistent and has to stay in place, so you can't delete that and if you delete any of your other albums, the contents doesn't actually leave your phone, it's just not categorized anymore.
There is a second method for deleting photos. By tapping the Settings icon, tap General, tap Usage, wait for it to load everything and you can see Photos & Camera. In Photos & Camera you can see Camera Roll. Swipe left or right on Camera Roll to reveal the delete button. Tap delete and you will notice that the screen goes back to Usage and you loose the ability to get back to Photos & Camera. Also, your photos are NOT deleted.
Yes, there is yet another method for deleting photos. If you use iPhotos to import your photos on a mac, you can choose to delete all imported photos. But here's the thing, I use Drop Box to import photos automatically and sync all my files. I don't want to have duplicates on my machine just to delete photos.
There is no way to delete all photos with one tap on the iPhone until this bug is fixed and I really don't want to use iphotos on my mac to manage the photos just to delete all of them. Who do I report this issue to and is anyone else having the same problem?

By tapping the Settings icon, tap General, tap Usage, wait for it to load everything and you can see Photos & Camera. In Photos & Camera you can see Camera Roll. Swipe left or right on Camera Roll to reveal the delete button. Tap delete and you will notice that the screen goes back to Usage and you loose the ability to get back to Photos & Camera. Also, your photos are NOT deleted.
If you follow these steps, it's clear that they have given the user an option to do what I'm trying to do, except, there's a bug so it's not actually following through with the delete function.

Read the User Tip that razmee209 linked for you in the post above. If nothing in there works, there May be something on your iPad that is corrupt. Backup the iPad, restore to factory settings, and them restore the backup. If that doesn't fix it, restore as new and download all of your purchased content again.

  • N82 - deleted all photo albums

    Hi.
I was fiddling with my N82 and deleted all photo album.
Now I cannot create any albums.
If I go into gallery -> images & video it says "no images or videos" and under options I only have "help" and "Exit".
According to the manual I should be able to make new albums here, but no luck.
    Any ideas?
It's very annoying because I cannot see the photos I have taken unless I connect to a PC.
