Ios 8.3 strange popup

Hi guys,
After upgrading to ios 8.3, I've seen a strange popup on both an iphone 5 and an iphone 6. Both popups were identical, looked unofficial, and did not fit the screen. The iphone 5 appeared while opening snapchat, the iphone 6 popup appeared while on the home screen. Both were dismissed by software reset and are yet to reappear.
Popup message was "Delete ALL Stored messages from your ph" on a grey screen, with only a white dismiss button on the bottom. Home button and lock did not remove the popup.
Does anybody have any idea what these are? iOS glitch or perhaps something more nefarious?

Even after commanding Siri, and even after deleting then re-installing my copy of Spiral Code Studio LASER PUZZLE, my copy of Spiral Code Studio LASER PUZZLE was still affected by a stray, rogue SWITCH CONTROL setting somewhere, I wish there were an option to have my iOS SWITCH CONTROL settings permanently removed from my device.

Strange popup 'X' appears over applications.

I have been noticing a strange popup 'X' in a grey circle that looks like a button to close a dialog box in an iOS app. It's appears then disappears after about 1 sec but it looks like there's some sort of script or application running in the background, like there's an invisible window appearing randomly over whatever application I'm running- it could be Safari or iPhoto, Photoshop or Pages, also over the finder. Has anyone experienced this or have any clues as to what it could be? I don't have any applications that use buttons in this style so it's kind of worrying.

Press the Home button once to see if that stops popup x.
The x in a circle appears over all apps if you tried to delete an app or perhaps held down an app too long to open it.
It's nothing to worry about.

Very strange Popup - can't get rid of it

I've been getting a very strange popup lately when I go to certain sites and I can't get rid of it. It's an advertising thing that thinks for some reason that I live in Oakland (which i don't but is nearby). I also noticed that on certain websites now autofill puts in Oakland and some sites say i am logging in from Oakland.
The popup looks like an XP window but is messed up and the text hangs over the edge of the box. It bounces around in the middle of my screen and makes accessing anything under it impossible.
I have cleared cookies, cache and history. I have pop block on. This happens in Safari and in Firefox. I can send a screen shot but can't seem to paste one here.
If I have accidentally gotten some adware installed, how can I find and get rid of it???
Any help would be hugely appreciated!

A friend just tried the site too and said he gets the same popup but with an advert for Seattle (where he does live), so perhaps this isn't something installed on my computer after all... it is super annoying, though, so i'll give that program a try. do you have any other thoughts?

Strange popup ads, banner and green links

Hi,
I am seeing strange popup ads, banners and green links where I am not supposed to see them. All my settings have popups blocked. I don't know how to remove them. Tried the advice on other threads regarding iLivid (not sure if this is the problem) but nothing helped anyway. This started yesterday on Safari and it's getting worst.
Run a scan with Bitdefender, nothing found. Checked Applications folder and Library for unusual files, also nothing. Not really sure what I should be looking for.
Don't know if it's related but display is freezing all the time, 5x in the last hour. Mouse works but won't click anything.

You have the iLivid adware or hack. I'm not sure yet exactly what it is. I've seen some reports that indicate this is related to adware called Downlite, which I also have not gotten my hands on. (Downlite seems to be distributed exclusively through piracy sites, so nobody has been able or willing to tell me exactly where they got it from.)
Try looking at the removal instructions for Downlite here:

If you don't find it, go back to the beginning of my Adware Removal Guide (the Is it adware? page) and go through all the recommended tests systematically, and in order.
Please let us know what you find, as many people are struggling with this iLivid issue right now, and I'm still trying to get a handle on it.

Strange popup message

I just started receiving a strange popup message saying that the device is not compatible with the select device. I do not have my iphone connected to anything nor any network. How do i get it to stop or do i take it back to apple??

Clean out the docking port as dirt/lint may be in there.
Next reboot the phone:
Hold BOTH the HOME and LOCK buttons.
DO NOT let go when it says slide to turn off.
KEEP holding both until screen turns off and comes back on to Apple Logo.

Strange popup: phone number being used for iMessage

Received a popup on my iPad that reads "your phone number is now being used for iMessage on a new phone, if you're recently signed into "my phone's name" you can ignore this notification. Only option was to hit "ok". IPad is wi-Fi only ( iMessage was on and email address toggled on, no phone number listed) iMessage is now off; phone listed both email and phone number (only phone number was checked) in iMessage (which I toggled off after receiving the notification). Any ideas of what happened? Running IOS 8.1 on iPad 2 and iPhone 4S. Thank you.

Exact same thing happened to me last night (Australia) I was using my iPad mini when this pop up message appeared and thought how odd, my iPhone was right next to me locked...
Thinking this this was odd I unlocked my phone and went to the App Store only to discover when it asked for my password it was changed!!
I Was locked out of my Apple ID on both my iPhone 5 and iPad mini!
My Apple id and icloud was HACKED!! BE WARNED EVERYONE, CHECK YOU PASSWORDS AND SEE IF YOU CAN LOG INTO YOUR APPLE IDS AS THE LONGER YOU LEAVE IT THE WORSE THE OUT COME!
i Was lucky that I have 2 step authentication and was able to to reset the password and get my account back!

Strange popup when I download from Appstore says "PREFLIGHT_ERROR_TITLE_FORMAT". What is this?

I have just bought my first Mac(!) (Macbook Pro) after haveing owned iPod´s and an iPhone for some years now, and I´ve just started learning the basics. I was makeing my first purchase in Appstore, and when the download started, a strange pop-up appered. Said "PREFLIGHT_ERROR_TITLE_FORMAT; PREFLIGHT_ERROR_BODY_FORMAT;" and a button says "PREFLIGHT_ERROR_DEFAULT_BUTTON".
What should I do? Is it as simple as just press the button, or might this be some kind of virus? I have no clue. Please, someone help?

I've been having the same issue! I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling ADE but that hasn't helped; I've even created a new Adobe ID and that was also a fruitless venture. I haven't yet tried to unauothorize my device, but I am hesitant to do so as it seems that others have tried and have not succeeded. I am desperately caught in the middle of a series and I would love to have access to the new books that I've been trying to download from my library!

Can't reconnect, strange popup message

I find after a long period of inactivity forms will ofter lose its connection. Am learning forms at home so server and client soft is on ssame machine. When i go to the file menu and choose CONNECT or DISCONNECT I get a popup box containing a large X symbol and some unintelligible ascii characters, anybody know how I can resolve this.

I have found if my Windows laptop goes into standby mode, the connection to the Oracle DB on the laptop gets screwed up like that. Set your system to NEVER standby, and see if that helps.

IOS 8 make strange bettery crashes

i knew that when i will update the phone will be slower but i didnt know that the bettry will be destroyed every time im doing some thing with the internet WIFI/3G the phone is turning off and when im trying to turn him on it telling me that i dont have bettrey no metter how much bettery i had and few minutes later im able to turn him back on and then after 1min or so it turnning of again and telling me that i dont have bettery after i saw i have bettery after i turnd him on and its keep going like that antil im starting to charge my phone then i can do what ever i want does anybody else have that?or that something of one of the options? or its something that they going to fix?

How can I avoid the "iOS new version" popup

My company uses iPads in Kiosk mode (Kiosk Pro App) for customers to browse some dedicated web content. The user should not be able to leave this Kiosk App. This is achieved using a special Kiosk case that covers the home button of the iPad.
Our problem now is, that every time a new version of iOS is available, a popup similar to this one is displayed:
When the customer clicks on "Details" he gets into the settings app, where he isn't supposed to go.
Is there any way of disabling these popups?
e.g. block access to apple update servers on wifi router? I would need the specific hostnames. Or maybe any new feature of iOS 6 that would help?

In IE Options > Advanced there is a setting Allow active content to run in local files. If that is ticked you will not get the warning. However that applies to all active content, not just your help. Are the users in your company or are they external users? If the latter, you cannot control their settings.
Another option would be to use Multiscreen HTML5 but that would change all the calls to your help. That output can run locally or from a web server.

Why am I seeing popups in Safari

I have been seeing these strange popups in Safari on my ipad 2 running ios 7.
One says
setup.exe. 0 bytes
open in ... open in Skydrive
the other one:
cannot install profile
Safari could not install a profile due to an unknown error.
Any idea why these are appearing?

If these are native dialogs (not fake dialogs displayed in the web page) and if they are unexpected, you may be visiting web sites that are trying to automatically download malware.
The "setup.exe" file is likely targeted at PCs running Windows. I would definitely not open the file in Skydrive, though, because you don't want someone on a PC to open the file later, not knowing what it is.
The error message about not being able to install a profile is more concerning, however, because Safari for iOS does support installing configuration profiles (*.mobileconfig) files. Safari (or Settings) would have still asked you if you wanted to install the profile had it been valid, but you should always say "No" unless you expected to download such a file.
Note that there could also be more benign reasons for these to appear (for example, if you clicked on a download link for setup.exe for legitimate software in a mail message), but if they appeared unexpectedly during browsing, I would suggest that you be more cautious about visiting those web sites in the future.

Problem with the "from" field after upgrading to IOS 7

Dear list members,
For years I have been using multiple e-mail accounts with my iPhone 4 without any trouble. However, after I upgraded to IOS 7, a strange bug is happening.
When I try to send an e-mail from my iPhone, using my iCloud account, to another person or another account of mine, every time I type an address in the "to" field, the "from" field changes automatically to some of my other accounts (most of them from Google). Then I have to correct the "from" field every time, which is very annoying.
Is there a way to solve this bug?

I have a similar problem, using iPhone 4 and iPad 3. I can connect to the iPhone hotspot (iPhone show the blueish bar on top of its screen and says 1connection is active). So far so good, BUT, the iPad gets no symbol (the chain showing its linked) nor internet access. Sometimes the symbol comes but still no internet. By resetting the iPhones network settings I get it to work immidiately after, but after putting my iPad to sleep there will be the same issue over again. Please come up with a solution. Maybe I need to restore both devices? I don't like the idea though. It just works, huh?!?!?

How to change language in IOS 6 Maps?

I'm from Ukraine, and I have a problem with maps. The problem is:
The IOS 6 maps displays street's names in Ukrainian language, so there is no way to set Russian adress for search.
Also the Setteing "Always in Russian" in Maps settings -> inscriptions on map doesn't work (((

I have the same problem. I upgrade to iOS on my iPhone and iPad yesterday. I'm American living in Germany. Both devices came up with the Germany iTunes/App Store after the upgrade. Now I must ask, why would the device destroy my country connection just because it upgraded the iOS. Never happened from iOS 4 to iOS 5. Strange. But I verified Settings...iTunes & App Stores, clicked on my Apple ID: [email protected], clicked View Apple ID, entered password, and sure enough, still says United States. Therefore, powered off the device, rebooted, and the store was correct (United States), where it should have been without all these steps.

On the other hand, and that is the funny thing, the shared picture folder on the pc is updated with new photos/pictures from my ios devices and from my macbook. Hi Naddod , I have the same problem. The same pc photostream receives new photos added using the photostream "add picture" button but ipad and iphone does not. If I take new photo from Iphone I can find it in Photostream of PC, Iphone and Ipad. Seems IOS error. Strange thing is that , if then I erase that new photo from the PC photostream, than it will be erased from photostream of PC, iPhone and iPad, erasing works, adding not.

Apple ID´s from friends after iOS 6 installation

Hey,
after the re-installation to iOS 6 a strange thing happend.
The Apple-ID AlertView cames up and in the field for the username was the mail-adress from a friend... after that it comes again with another email from another friend.
Consider the phone was installed NEW with the backup from iCloud!
AND: The two persons were never on my phone!
I hope somebody has an explanation....

The recomended way of setting up Applleds is to have one common one for "the Stores" (iTunes, App Store & Mac App store) so that all purchases are shared, then a seperate individual account for iCloud syncing EACH
So for instance you'd have [email protected] for the stores and [email protected], [email protected] [email protected] & [email protected] for the individuals
Thats' what I've done here for myself, mrs & 4 kids.
