IOS 8 and attaching several pictures in mail

With IOS 8 all pictures attached in a mail from Iphone get the same name (FullSizeRender) instead of as before when the got names like Bild 1, Bild2. (Swedish = Picture1, Picture2 etc.) = different names enabling saving all pictures in one go from mail.

I have the same issue after iOS 8 update . Furthermore, geographical location (Geotag) data is removed from such a picture. Whether I send it by iMessage, email or Stratospherix FileBrowser app – all the geographical info is gone. All but Filebrowser also use this Fullsizerender filename instead of actual file name.
Curiously enough, it is only happening with my iPhone 5. My IPad mini and iPhone 4s seem to work as expected.
I erased my iPhone 5 and it started working fine i.e using correct filenames and geo info for photos when sending by imessage or email.
But as soon as I restored from backup – this problem came back.
what's the mystery here?

Yes.
With the Camera Roll or Photo Album selected, select the icon at the bottom left of the screen with a right facing arrow. Select each photo you want to attach to an email - a red circle with a white check mark will be placed on the selected photo. Select the Share button followed by selecting Email.
If you have already started composing an email and you want to add a photo, select the same icon at the bottom of the Camera Roll or Photo Album, select the photo or photos you want to add to the email followed by Copy instead of Share. Return to the email message and select the body of the message to bring up the paste selection.

In Mail > Preferences > Accounts to can find out which STMP server you are using for outgoing items.
This can be one account.
I do this with a dial Up account I still have access to.
I can "fetch" mail over DSL and now Fibre.
However I have to be Logged in via Dial up to actually use their Servers to Send.
As a Consequence I "send" via one of the other Accounts STMP servers. (I tend to add a signature that reflects this account change)
The other thing that might explain what you are seeing is the Full Name Box.

If you read the user tip you will see that you do not access your photos from the finder but from the upload window in your browser when you log into Facebook and go to upload - in the upload window the media browser in the lawer left hand corner - media ==> photos ==> iPhoto

You can attach one PDF with as many pages as you want to one email.
If you have two PDF files, they would require two emails.

Character- and attachement problems by E-Mail recipients

After upgrading to OSX Tiger and using Mail, I am experiencing problems by some of our customers using MS Outlook.The Danish characters ÆØÅ (æøå) are transformed into hieroglyphs, making the message look rather silly, if not unreadable. Also some of them can't locate (JPEG) attachements in the E-mail - they appear as picture in the mail, but can't be saved as files. The problem is only concerning JPEG-files - PDF's and ZIP's work allright. Other MAC- and PC users have none of the problems.
Any proposals?

This is an Outlook problem (especially if other Mac and PC/Windoze users have none of these problems) and I believe it may depend on the Outlook version the recipient is using.
Sounds like you are using RTF for message composition and if so, try using Plain Text instead.

Body and Attachment both in a mail

I am working to send a mail from XI. My present scenarion is like this: I am using xslt mapping to generate code for a html page using source and using dumy target. Now I am using module adapter "localejbs/AF_Modules/MessageTransformBean" for getting attachments. I am able to get the attachment if i check "Keep Attachment" check box or else I am able to see the html pagein body of mail.
Here I am getting either body or attchment. Is there any way to get both body and attachment?

I am trying to use these statements:

additional payload of the XI message, the mail adapter creates an attachment for the
mail. To enable this feature, you select the Keep Attachments checkbox when
configuring the mail adapter. By default, the payload of the message is also sent as an
-8-
attachment. If you do not want the payload to be sent as an attachment, set
ContentDisposition to inline.
If you want to give each attachment a certain name, you can use the swap module. The
swap module changes the main payload.

Doesn't sound like you have iCloud? If not, then no, you are out of luck....

Updated iPad2 to iOS 6 and lost all pictures and videos

I updated my roomate's iPad 2 days ago, following the instructions of a friend with years of Apple experience.
He explained that I would need to install iTunes on my laptop (a newer Asus running Win7) and that just plugging the iPad in would start an automatic process of backing up and updating.
Being from the PC world, I wanted to make sure we would be safe. I asked if I needed to copy pictures to my laptop or pc first, and he said that iTunes defaults to backing up first, then running the update.
Of course this makes sense, but erring on caution, I was very specific in wanting to make absolutely sure.
So I get the laptop ready. I plug in the iPad, it's immediately discovered and a window pops up saying there is an update for the iPad, and would I like to update now.
I pressed the button yes, or ok, I don't remember exactly what the vernacular was.
The lengthy process began.... with a status bar and activity..... took about 20 minutes.
After it was done, it said so. I don't remember the dialog box wording at that point exactly.
I pushed the home button on the iPad and it had the normal grey lock screen, opened it, and all of her apps were there, her email showed she had email,
but when i looked in the pictures folder, it was empty.
Thought perhaps they would appear later from iTunes. ( I didn't know at this point that she had never backed up or used iTunes for anything other than the initial activation and for her old iPhone that died several months ago)
Called my Apple friend, he said maybe I unplugged the iPad before it was able to restore things to the iPad.
So I started iTunes, attached the iPad , right clicked on "Tiffany's ipad" and went into the Backup section. There it says that the iPad was never backed up on this computer in bold text. And the option to restore from backup is grayed out.
I call my expert friend again. He has me look for backup files on the laptop, utilizing an application called 'iExplore'. went to 'device' section and there is a box that will show all backup files found on the pc. That box was empty.
What's tragic, is, this poor lady, unbeknownst to me, had been using her iPad as a picture and video dump for ALL of her child's pictures and vids for over a year. Without telling me. She is not a technical person.
Had I known this, I would have backed it up manually myself, before the update and all along. I would have made her do it. But I had no idea. I assumed she was plugging it in to her Dell Laptop.. but she never did.
I've run 2 'recovery' programs I got from online that scan for deleted files, but they don't show any of the hundreds of pictures and videos she had, Im sure because it was wiped, not deleted.
All attempts to locate a large backup file on my laptop have come up empty.
She is extremely and unbelievably broken up about this, as am I. I'm furious with Apple for not making the BACKUP stage of the process more tenacious, and with more pop up warnings so that this kind of thing cannot happen. Had I seen that, I would have used an application to MANUALLY copy her stuff.... even though at the time I had NO IDEA she was using her iPad as her ONLY repository for all of her precious media.
Folks, this is a life changing horror for her, and me. I love this woman's little boy as my own, and as a single mom, she was depending on me as a friend in this matter. If I cannot retrieve these images and vids, I fear she will never forgive me, as I'm the 'tech guy' who always has had the answers for everything in the past, and failed her on the most important tech issue in her life, her little boy's life in pictures.
Please, where can I send this iPad for forensic recovery of these images.
I've powered the iPad down until further notice to avoid writing additionally on the internal flash memory.

I upgraded my iPad to iOS 7 and cannot restore missing apps.

I upgraded my iPad 2 to the latest iOS 7 and lost several apps. Some of which I paid for, like Pages and Numbers. With that, I lost all the documents buried in iBooks, Pages, Numbers, etc.
I tried to sync with my computer, but one thing Apple does not tell you is that you must have the latest iTunes 11 to sync iOS 7 devices. I do not. I tried to up date my iTunes and learned that the operating system on my desk top does not support iTunes 11. And my desk top does not support the latest operating system. My desk top is working great and no reason to replace.
Next try was to re download the app from the App Store. iBooks was a success, everything came back, no charge. I had to pay for Pages, it appears to be an upgraded version made for iOS 7, no documents were restored. I do not see the older version available. I did not waste time and money on the rest of the missing apps.
Any suggestions.

Yes, I did back up my iPad to my computer before upgrading to iOS 7. However, since upgrading to iOS 7, my iPad will no longer sync with my iMac. Why not place an image field on the form? The user can click on the field and select the image he wants.

Remove "MacKeeper" as follows. First, back up all data.
"MacKeeper" has only one useful feature: it deletes itself.

from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-A. The "MacKeeper" application is in the folder that opens. Quit it if it's running, then drag it to the Trash. You'll be prompted for your login password. Click the Uninstall MacKeeper button in the dialog that appears. All the functional components of the software will be deleted. Reboot.
☞ Quit MacKeeper before dragging it to the Trash.
☞ Don't empty the Trash. Let MacKeeper delete itself.
☞ Don't try to drag the MacKeeper Dock icon to the Trash.

Thank you for your detailed question. It sounds like the real issue is pdf files. Are there any antivirus/firewalls that might be blocking this specific file type? or are there any preferences in your control panel that might be blocking this?
Do you have any stored preferences for PDF files in Firefox?

Major Mail Crash with iOS 6 and iPad 2... now a blank Mail screen

I just had a major Mail app crash with iOS 6 on my iPad 2.
I was composing an email with pictures in it and when I got to the point of pasting the forth picture into the email, the Apple Mail app started to get very sluggish and crashed. Now, every time I open the Mail app, the screen is white (i.e. - without any text on it) and then Mail crashes after about 10-15 seconds. (BTW - It seemed like the sluggishness got worse as I pasted the last two pictures in.... and the pictures were large sized (at about 750kB each).... so they weren't overly big in size.)
Closing the app, shutting down my iPad 2 and hard resetting my iPad (by holding down both the Home and Power buttons) have no effect on the problem.
This is a very bad situation since I'm traveling for business and was using the iPad for keeping up with email. Now, I get nothing put a blank screen whenever I try to open the mail app.
Does anyone know of a way to get the Mail app back?

Facing the same problem on iPad (3rd generation, wifi)
I'm using Gmail and every time I open it, it crash a lot (white screen or scroll down very,very slowly),also can't open or send anymore :(
Facebook is nice but it also crash (even I delete and reinstall several time, it still crash like slow respond or even no respond at all)
The most upset is touch seem crash sometime :( (need to touch two or three times)
Help!!! I don't wanna make myself look down on iOS after this upgrade! I do love the former 5.1.1 (smooth touch and easy mail)
