IOS 8 Bluetooth problem in '13 Honda Accord

Ever since upgrading to iOS 8 on my iPhone 5s, I am unable to speak on the phone through the Bluetooth system in my 2013 Honda. The phone will connect, but when I try to make a call, the call can not be heard through the Bluetooth unless I switch the call to “private” on my iPhone. When I receive a call, the Bluetooth system will alert me but when i answer I still can't hear anything through the speakers. I can play music and hear it well through the Bluetooth. But not calls. This might be an iOS 8 issue. Is anyone else having the same problem?

Others reported:
Delete network settings and the old pairing at both ends: iPhone and car.
After pairing new, it works for many.
If not: Delete all settings (back to manufactory settings) and delete pairing in the car memory.
After repairing it works for some other.

  • Ideas for a car stereo/gps/Bluetooth for a 2006 honda accord

I need some ideas on how to get Bluetooth in my 2006 honda accord. I've been looking at car systems with gps and Bluetooth but it seems too expensive. I've also been looking at a Bluetooth device to install in the car. I just don't know how to install it or how to hook up the controls on the steering wheel. I've been to best buy....your sales people aren't that knowledgeable. The geek squad guy was but prices seem a bit high to install everything. I'm looking for opinions or if anyone has done the same to their 2006 honda accord.

alright well lets start off with some basics.  are you using an Iphone or apple product? or are you using a android based unit?
with android it is a very big hit or miss on alot of the fuctions for your bt and or streaming music such as display of songs and such.
if you are using an apple device you should be solid, until a new update will make it not function properly.  i say this because it seems that everytime there is an update apple gets rid of something that a customer of mine used and now doesn't have.  regardless if you are an apple user you should be used to this by now though.

that product above will allow you to integrate into your factory stereo given that the certain radio that you have in your vehicle currently has the ability to.  On the back of the box there are a few specifications for the radios to have.  I don't have a box with me since i just sold my last one yesterday, but i know it has to have some buttons on the radio, and if they don't have the buttons unfortunately you won't be able to use this device, but on the box you will see those specs.  I haven't really ever had a problem with the this module not working in a honda, but GM's and their module i have had some radios that customers have brought be and the device is not compatible with.  Swing back into your local best buy ask them about the ISIM51 and getting that installed.  yes it is expensive but i know your dash kit alone if you wanted to replace the stereo is wicked expensive also.  hope this helps! thanks for the post.  and also that price includes installation.
I am a CAR Geek Squad installer tech lead, but my views that i post are my own and not that of best buy. if you like my posts give me some kudos, if you need further help contact your local Geek Squad installation bay!
Please read my posts with a smile, cause thats how I write them.Although i have a cool avatar by my name, I am just a member of the community that works for Best Buy.

  • Ios 8.1.1 bluetooth drops connection with Honda Accord

My iPhone 6 with IOS 8.1.1, when paired with the audio system in my 2014 Honda Accord will drop the connection after 1 minute when using the AHA app. Also, when I use Bluetooth as the audio source in the car, it will recognize my iPhone, but ignores any request to select music from the phone. These functions worked earlier with my iPhone 4S and IOS7. Is there a temporary fix for these issues?

Similar to VroomVroom:  I have iphone 5s, was on iOS7, went to iOS 8.1.2, and I didn't notice that I had lost a specific bluetooth connection: Garmin Smartlink - Live Traffic App.  The Garmin Smartlink uses bluetooth to connect to the aftermarket Kenwood DNX891HD I have in my car, this comes with a Navigation GPS included.  The Garmin Smartlink app (Live Traffic) provides immediate traffic updates if your city is covered, and my city Cincinati OH is covered.  This was all working fine before I upgraded the iOS on the iphone 5S.  I read another article related to "carkit" connections between iphones and car stereos (for both NAV and also hands-free) - here is the key point and my theory: Only ONE bluetooth connection can be supported at a time.  In my case - the hands-free telephone (thru car microphone and car stereo speakers) works fine, and I believe this is also "shared" by Pandora App (from iphone to Kenwood).  So, my theory is the iphone will not connect to the Kenwood for the Nav, since it is already connected to the Kenwood for the audio (Pandora and hands-free, I think these two "share" the same bluetooth connection, and I think the Smartlink connection is separate).  I messed around this morning in the parking lot at work, and my attempts to "forget" and "pair" the iphone and Kenwood would continously start playing Pandora, but the Smartlink still will not connect (when it dis work, I would see a green circle with two cars on my Nav map screen, indicating the smartlink connection and also status of the traffic).  My next test this afternoon will be to delete Pandora app on the phone, try forget / pair again and see if I can get Smartlink to work.  If this works, I'll reinstall Pandora App and try to get it back as well.  My past 24 hours of skimming articles (don't ya love the internet !) seems to indicate that I am not the only person with bluetooth problems due to the iOS 8.1.2 update....hey Apple...where's 8.1.3 to fix this ?

  • DroidX dropping Bluetooth connections with 2010 Honda Accord

I hope soneone has an answer for this one.
My phone drops the bluetooth connection with the HandsFreeLink in my car (2010 Honda Accord w/Nav) after a period of time (20-30mins).  The phone call is still active.  Only the bluetooth connection is cutoff.  The car will not recognize the phone until I either shutoff and restart the car or pull the battery on the phone and reboot it.  This does not happen with my wife's motorola flip type phone.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you all for posting your questions and concerns!

My iphone 5s Bluetooth no longer works in my 2014 honda accord, ever since i updated the software two months ago. Can anyone help?

Problems with Bluetooth connections are generally traced back to the vehicle. If you search here in the forum you will find a number of posts with issues connecting with Honda vehicles. Try removing the phone from the vehicle's list of Bluetooth devices. Then try removing the vehicle from the iPhone's list of Bluetooth devices. Then place both devices back in discovery/pairing mode and try to connect them. You may need to take the device to the dealer to check for software updates.
Next, I understand it used to connect, however software updates for the iPhone will load the latest Bluetooth stack into the phone and vehicles do not always get updated as often. You can also check this support document for frequently asked questions and the other for additional troubleshooting instructions.   Wireless input devices: Bluetooth frequently asked questions  iOS: Third-party Bluetooth accessories

  • Honda accord 2014 with ios 8 no longer gives me list of albums, songs, podcasts etc. it worked well with ios 7

BLuetooth on Honda Accord LX: with my old iPhone 4S running ios 7, I had no issues. However, with iPhone 6 running ios 8.1 I can no longer get the list of categories (Songs, Albums, Podcasts) etc. It will play songs, randomly chosen, but there is no way for me now to choose anything, nor to play Podcasts. I have treied removing the device from both car and from iPhone and repairing but that did not help. Strangely, if I attach the phone to the USB connection in the car, then it does give me the category list. But then it appears to get confused between the phone as a blooth device and the phone as a USB device. Apparently many other car owners are having similar issues.

If you did a Restore as new device and the restored all of your apps and data you might have restored something that is causing problems on your iPad. I suggest restoring as new. But do not restore your apps and data until you can completely test the iPad to make sure it is working all right. Then add parts of your stuff back until you determine what might be causing the problem.
Also, the current version of iOS is 8.1.2. When you do the restore your should be updated to that version of the iOS.

  • IOS 8 no longer works with 2012 honda accord

I upgraded my iPhone 5 to iOS 8.0.2.  When I connect via USB, I no longer am able to use my car (2012 Honda Accord) controls to play music.  Also, while it does connect via BlueTooth, making phone calls is very difficult, it takes much longer to connect to HandsFreeLink than in the past.  I have deleted the BlueTooth connection and reestablished a new pairing.  Still have sluggish behavior.  Is this an iOS 8.0.2 issue?  Or a Honda HandsFreeLink issue?  Both?

I have a similar issue where I cannot get email on an iPad running iOS 8.0.2.  With the exception for some odd reason emails came thru between the hours of 22:00 and 00:30 last night.  This morning, same thing, no emails showing up on the iPad, it just spins.  I'll have to check to see if calendar entries work.

  • How to Solve Wi-Fi or Bluetooth Problems on your iOS Device?

Do you have any problem with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on your iOS Device? Please read these steps carefully and follow it!
These Steps that I am sharing are TESTED by 10 iOS users what had problems with Wi-Fi or Bluetooth or both and was successful
    - Please note that Resetting/Factory Resetting/Hard Resetting or Recovering or un-jailbreaking your device will not work at all -
To Solve Wi-Fi Problems Follow these steps (But before doing anything please restart your iOS Device and see if you still have network problems):
Step 1 Go to Settings > General > Reset > Rest Network Settings and Reset your Network Settings and wait until your device re-boots
Step 2 Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and see if you can connect to your Wi-Fi If you can't then go to next step
Step 3 Go to Settings > Airplane Mode and turn on Airplane Mode and shut down your device. Go to your network provider and ask to restart the Modem or do it your self (Just unplug power cord and plug it back in) You have to wait 30 seconds.
Step 4 Boot your device and go to Settings > Airplane Mode and this time turn if off and go to Wi-Fi and see if you can connect it again. If you can't then go to next step - Note: If you are going on to Step 5 it means that your device is experiencing Critical System Error that cannot be fixed easily -
Step 5 Go your laptop/desktop and open your browser then type this on the webpage search bar 192.168.0.1 and click enter. If it doesn't work then go and ask your network provider for an address for your modem/internet settings.
Step 6 Change your modem/internet settings to no password and make it "available/visible for everyone" and go to your iOS device and got to Settings > Wi-Fi and see if it works this time. If it still doesn't work go to next step - Note: If you are going on to the next step it means you are experiencing Critical System Error that had been cause by glitch/bug -
Step 7 Connect your iOS Device to iTunes on your laptop/desktop and update your iOS version -Note: this process if basically re-installing your operating system- If you can't update if because the new update if not available you have to wait for next update unfortunately
Step 8 After updating your iOS Device Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and see if it connects to your Wi-Fi. It normally fixes the problem but if it still doesn't, it means your device is experiencing hardware problem. Visit your local Apple Retail Store or reseller and ask them for complimentary/device-exchange/warranty help or go to Apple website for online support: www.apple.com/support/ for better support.
To Solve Bluetooth Problem all you need to do is resetting (not factory resetting) your device and see if it works, if it doesn't you will need to update your iOS or Google for more technical troubleshooting because it could be your pairing device's problem. Visit www.apple.com/support/ for better support.
If anyone of you had these experiences and was successful troubleshooting please do share your experience. I will also be avaliable to answer your questions if you have one! Please do share your openions about my post if you have one

If you don't mind, would you do that for me please?

  • Problem with IOS8 update and my 2013 Honda Accord

Updated my iPod touch with IOS8 and now it acts weird while connected to the stereo of my 2013 Honda Accord with a USB cable.  When I start the car and set the stereo to iPod, it will grab a random song from the iTunes Library and start playing it.  I can manually change the music on the iPod but the stereo display still shows the random song title and none of the stereo controls (including those on the steering wheel) will control the iPod.  The random song title will stay on the stereo for a  random length of time.  I will be changing the music selection from the iPod and all of a sudden the stereo display will show the correct song and the radio controls will work.  Something is missing here regarding the communication between the car stereo and the iPod.  Anyone hear of a Honda software update to work out the bugs?

Contact Honda. Sometimes an IOS update breaks compatibility
    Also sometimes this helps:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Bluetooth problem on iOS 6!

I have Beats Wireless, and since upgrading to iOS 6, has presented problems with the bluetooth connection. I was wondering if anyone has this problem and if Apple will make a new update to fix this problem.
    Thank You.

I have bluetooth problem with Creative Sound Blasteraxx SBX 20 when I upgraded iphone4, ipad2 and ipad3 to ios 6.
There seemed the bluetooth session is prone to some interruptions. The music stopped playing but the bluetooth session is inact. The sound blaster has blue led and iphone4 show " connected". I will to reset by turning off the bluetooth and reconnect again. Then only will the music from iphone4 is played at sound blasteraxx SBX20. I have to kept doing this again and again when the music stopped. This does not happen before the upgrade. I used Creative BT-D5 a bluetooth socket connector to iphone4 and paired it with Sound Blasteraxx SBX20. I played for hours without any session being lost. I have seen iphone wifi suddenly went from "connected" to " not connected" in iphone4 setting. Before upgrade the disconnection would never appear on its own. I suspect the ios bluetooth and wifi are prone to interruption and they cannot prrform automatically recovery. It needs manual reset to get bluetooth and wifi working.

  • Bluetooth problem is still persistent with iOS 8.1.3

I could never connect my iPad Air 2 to my Boston Acoustics XS speaker set via Bluetooth. I tried all the previous iOS updated but nothing worked. I just updated to iOS 8.1.3 with a great hope but I ended up in a great frustration..again.. unfortunately that turned to a habit with each Apple update including Yosemite.
The most annoying part is that Apple does not really care, nobody reads here or there, customer service is no different than a moronic AI algorithm. Apple Store guys just replace your iPad which doesnt solve the problem.
THE PROBLEM IS SO SIMPLE:  Bluetooth is not working on $600 device which is called iPad Air 2! The same bluetooth speaker works perfectly with any other device I own including MacBook Pro and all androids.
Anyway, my questions are for Apple not for community since nobody can do anything about it.
    1. WHY DONT YOU SOLVE SUCH A SIMPLE AND CLEAR PROBLEM APPLE?
    2. WHY IS IT THAT DIFFICULT TO GET YOU HEAR YOUR CUSTOMERS?
    3. WHY DO YOU EMPLOY SUCH LOUSY ENGINEERS AND MANAGERS?

Since I can connect and use BT devices with my iPad Air 2 (also iphone 5, iPad 3 and iPad 4) on iOS 8 (now using 8.1.3) this doesn't appear to be an "all BT is broken in iOS 8" problem.
What you have is an apparent incompatibility between the BT 4 FW released with iOS 8 and the BT 2.1 (probably) implementation on your Boston Acoustics XS speaker set. The error could be on Apples side or Boston Acoustics' side. Although the BT 4.0 standard is upward compatible with BT 2.1 there have been BT 2.1 implementations that didn't work properly with BT 4 through errors in those implementations. This could be another case of this simply brought out by changes in the iOS 8 BT 4.
IF there is no error on Appe's side don't expect any change from Apple. This puts you in a bit of a pickle since the BT Firmware in your speaker set is probably not customer upgradable.
if you have reported your problem to Apple that's about all you can do. Good luck.

iphone 5 usb does not charge in my 2013 Honda Accord.  Is there a fix for this issue?  It will connect via bluetooth but when I go to connect the usb charger it states that it is not compatible or you never get the charging display on your iPhone 5.  It charges just fine when I use the AC charger in the house.  At first I thought it may have been the cord but the same cord works fine in the house too.  This causes problems when you take long trips and don't have any way to charge your phone while on the road.  Are there any upcoming fixes/iupdates either to the software or usb cord that will fix this?

  • 1997 Honda Accord

I'm trying to have a new audio deck installed in my 1997 Honda Accord LX because the one I had before was stolen. The feature that I am mainly concerned about this time around is the faceplate being detachable, to prevent another theft. I found a higer priced Sony one that I really like, but when I tried the vehicle fit guide, there wasnt an Accord LX option, just an EX one. Is this the model that most closely fits my car or should I choose the standard Accord option?
There are hardly any detachable faceplates that fit my car if it belongs under the EX model, which is really depressing. I would hate to spend money on another deck just to have it stolen again...
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Dear Youngam,
To be honest, don't trust the vehicle fit guide. Hondas are some of the most common cars we do installs on at our best buy and believe me, any single din will fit, with no problems at all. You can go from the 70$ JVC that we carry all the way up to the $259 Pioneer BT model we have; or any other single din stereo. All of the stereos Best Buy offers in the single din size have removable faces so parking your car outside or leaving it by itself, you can rest assured.
Now as far as which one to choose were u looking for ipod itegration so you can control it through the actual Head Unit? or did you want to just plug it in the AUX in the front of the face to control it. Some models have Bluetooth mind you, so if you want hands-free calling in your car i'd go for the Kenwood 742BT or even better the Pioneer 6100BT. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Btw when your old stereo was stolen, did they cut the wires? or were the theives nice and unplug the harness?
If they unplugged it, you're looking around 95$ parts and labor to install at a local best buy, if they cut it, i think its around 110. Call your local best buy to verify!  hope i've helped.
