IOS 8 & Bose Bluetooth

I have an iPhone 5s & Bose Bluetooth headset. Before upgrading to iOS 8 & 8.0.2, I could answer a call on my headset by turning it on and the call would be routed to the headset. Now, in iOS 8.0.2, when I turn my headset on to answer, the call is answered, but routed to my phone. I actually have to go to the phone and choose the Bose headset. Once the headset is chosen, everything acts as expected. If I were to leave the headset on and take the call via the device, it also acts as expected.
This is obviously a bug. Any ideas if this is being addressed in the updates?

Same problem for me (using headset Jabra BT2050 with iPhone6 iOS 8) ... still present with iOS 8.1.3
It's not a bluetooth pairing issue and the only workaround I found is this below
- Setting/General/Accessibility/Call Audio Routing (set Headset, instead of Automatic)
but in this way it uses headset (if connected) even if you answer sliding the iPhone
That's quite incredible from Apple, while using the state of the art for device and iOS (the best iOS and iPhone ever)
I've reported the same issue here

  • Bose bluetooth headphones pairing issue

I have an iPhone 5 32Gb and an iPad 3 32Gb.  I had both running iOS 7.1 and my Bose Bluetooth headphones worked exactly as they should.  One of the great features of these is that they can pair to the iPhone and iPad at the same time, meaning that I can watch a video on my iPad and when the iPhone rings, it rings through the headphones and pauses the video.
Since upgrading both devices to iOS 7.1.1, I can only pair to one of them at a time.  Let's say that I am paired to my iPad, but now want to use my headphones to listen to music on my iPhone.  I now have to go into Bluetooth on my iPhone, have it forget the Bose headphones and then repair.  If I want to go back to my iPad, I have to go through the same process for the headphones to work on that device.
Has anyone else come across this issue?  From briefly looking at this forum, Apple seems to have made a mess of Bluetooth in this iOS release.  Any ideas on a fix?

I actually did both iPhone and iPad tethered to iTunes. I favour doing this instead of OTA.  The iPhone was a replacement from Apple and immediately updated through iTunes to iOS 7.1.1.
@Peter Gillespie, are you using an iPhone and iPad with your AE2?

  • Trouble with Bose Bluetooth Notifications

I am using a Bose bluetooth BT2 headset. When it is coupled the iPhone sends text and email notifications to the headset. Is there a way to have the notifications sound from the phone even when the bluetooth is connected?

  • Since updating to iOS 5, my bluetooth and signal have been destroyed. Before the update, the phone worked perfectly, connecting to my bluetooth in car for both calls and music. Reception was also perfect. Now, my bluetooth doesnt work, and I cant be heard

Since I updated my iphone 4 software from 4.3.3/4.3.5 - bought brand new only 2 weeks before the update came out - to iOS 5, my bluetooth no longer works in me ford fiesta and when I ring people, they literally can not hear a word I say. It has nothing to do with poor signal areas as they are the same areas I was in with the same phone before the software update! i have even sent for a replacement phone and received a reconditioned phone (after paying excess charge - JOKE!) and the same problem occured when I updated again. I cannot believe there is no downgrade as this iOS 5 is a shambles and to be honest, I see very little difference in terms of apps and photos so i have no idea why apple are recommending this upgrade!
Is there anything I can do to improve the fact that nobody can hear me on the phone when I speak?!! Or are apple going to insist I keep a phone that is of no use to me if I can't actually use it as a PHONE!
    Please please help!

    Hi,
Thanks! I forgot to add, I have debonded and rebonded the bluetooth in car and phone and have carried out 3 restores on the phone in my ITunes. All to no avail. I have also jsut spent £40 on a lead from Ford that has made no difference too! I went to them today to request a software upgrade on my car as I though perhaps the lack of connectivity in the car was down to the car being behind the iOS5 software but was informed there was no need for an upgrade and this problem is purely an apple problem! Is there any way around the downgrade? Or are apple gong to resolve this problem at all??

I've got a fix, even for  those who don't have hotspot (like me) who want to get the ipad and iphone talking over bluetooth again.
First, I should say that I said when I got my 4s, the problem was solved. It was not. I was just connecting via wifi, but I wanted bluetooth back.
Here is how I got it back without hotspot.
    1. Launch keynote on one device and the remote on the other as you normall would.
    2. Find another app that bluetooth links ipad and iphone (I used 'pictransfer light'). Install on both devices and launch on both devices. Follow the promt to get a bluetooth sync.
    3. Double push the home button both devices to pull up the multi-tasking and open keynote and keynote remote on the relevant devices.
    4. In keynote, go to settings; advances; remote. You should now be able to get the remote to link (you may, on the device running the remote, need to hit settings and then 'new keynote link'.
Once I launched pictransfer, the bluetooth logo was blue on both devices the whole time I ran through the other steps. I suspect that that was also the point of using the hotspot service.
Also noteworthy: I am yet to try this 'in the field'. For all I know, this won't keep a connection for as long as one might need. I'll find out on Thursday when I rely on the remote for 90min. On the positive side, I was able to keep the connection even when I double clicked home and closed pictransfer while leaving keynote and keynote remote open...
This work-around worked -- I found that as long as I launched the "Pictransfer for iPad Lite" app just before the presentation that it seemed to work fine.  However, if Bluetooth gets turned off or you disconnect I think you will have to repeat the work-around -- nice find.
Apple really needs to fix this.  They even have a posted document describing how to link two devices by Bluetooth and the truth is that it just does not work as they say.  They need to add whatever code into the Keynote & Keynote Remote apps to initiate bluetooth to connect the devices.  It's fine if it prefers WiFi, but it should give you the bluetooth option as well.

  • IOS 8.3 bluetooth bug...ugh!!!

So, Apple has done it again with iOS 8.3. I am an aircraft pilot. EVERYTHING I do is on my iPad. I just recently updated to iOS 8.3. Well, I went to take a flight yesterday, and my bluetooth GPS antenna would not connect. (yes, I have paper charts...but it's no fun trying to fly that way.) After 3 reboots, several forget device/connect to device...I got nowhere. Well, I didn't fly that day. However I managed to waste a lot of time going out to the airport, preflighting the airplane, and driving back home that day. I know this sounds like "new world problems". But aren't apple products supposed to "just work"?
Well, I got back home last night and found warnings posted all over every aviation webpage/blog/forum about this bug. It has been confirmed by several companies techies and they have ALL stated that this is an Apple error. Apple has also confirmed this.

I am now looking for solutions.... Some have downgraded their iPads back to 8.2. I really don't want to have to do this. But many people have blogged that the iOS 8.4 Beta does not fix the issue either. Thanks Apple....
I have all Apple products, and have been an ALL Apple consumer for the past 10 years. But this is unacceptable. Oh , by the way, all the pilots with Android devices are still flying without issue. I never thought I would EVER say this...  But if this issue is not fixed VERY soon, I will be shopping for a new android device. I do NOT relish this thought, but every day with the iOS 8.3 bluetooth bug, is a day that I CAN'T FLY WITH GPS!!!!
I am sure other venues besides aviation are affected by this....       Any other solutions or rumors from the community are greatly appreciated.
    Frustrated pilot.

  • IPod touch won't pair with Bose bluetooth anymore.

I've been using my new Bose Bluetooth speaker with the newest iPod touch and I connected fine and it's been playing everything good for weeks. When I usually play it my iPod is on a dock charger but when i put it on my ihome today and tried to choose Bose everything froze and disconnected now when I try to connect it with the speaker it won't go and read the manual and tried resetting the speaker but the iPod won't connect and they're both in discoverable. I don't know what to do anymore. Does anyone know how to fix this?

    - Try resetting the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next try resetting network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings.  You will have to repair and rejoin wifi networks.
    - Restore the iPod.

Bose Bluetooth does not connect to iPad anymore.
Used to work.  Now it doesn't connect.  Have reset both iPAD and Bose..Also have depressed the BT button to activate...no work
    Any suggestions welcome...thanks

    1. Hold Bluetooth button down for 3 seconds so that iPad can "see" the Soundlink (bluetooth light should fade in and out every second)
    2. Make sure it's within range
    3. Keep speaker away from router, cordless phone or microwave oven
    4. Keep it away from other Bluetooth device
    5. Make sure it's not muted
    6. Turn it off and on again
    7. Make sure volume is turned up

Had the same problem connecteing with USB to my stereo.
it was suggested I do this by user lllaass
<Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

    And it worked for me.

  • Bose Bluetooth headphone with skype

I recently purchased a Bose Bluetooth headphone planing on using my 3g iPhone with Skype, as ie does work with the plug in set that came with the phone. Is there any way I can do this ?

  • Problems syncing Bose bluetooth to phone.

Bose Bluetooth will not sync with my phone, any ideas?

On iphone press ignore this headset (BOSE).
On headset, press volume down for 10 seconds. That should reset known devices on headset. Then power off both iphone and headset. Try pairing again.

  • Bose Bluetooth ear piece locking up phone. Ipone 4s.

I'm having a issue with my Bose Bluetooth ear piece. It will work for an hour then when a call comes in and I pick it up it switches to Speakerphone. This is when the phone goes wacky cannot call out or take calls, all the microphones on the phone shut off like its muted by itself. I have to power down the phone and restart and its fine. I have tried two different Bose ear piece and they both do the same thing. Its funny it will work for a few hours then Halloween out!

    Its a hardware problem!
I had exact same issue.  I went to the Genius Bar at Apple and the first thing the tech wanted to do was restore factory setting, without a back up (which meant I would lose some settings and pics that I could not back up).  He also warned me that I would not be able to restore the phone from my back up as it could possibly re-introduce the bug that c caused the problem.  I agreed (under protest) and waited while he did the restore.   When it was done, I had the issue of resetting my vm password, to which he instructed me that I would have to go to AT&T to resolve.  Luckily there is an AT&T kiosk just outside the door to the Apple store.  They instructed me to call 611 to resolve the issue.  While attempting the 611 call, the same issue started again (speaker came on automatically, could not shut off, person couldn’t hear me etc.)  I went back in the store and the tech then placed two “test” calls to the store itself and the phone worked fine.  He was still not satisfied and sent me away.  As I walked out of the mall, I called AT&T again and the speaker button got stuck.  I left the call connected and brought the phone back into the Apple store with the call connected and the speaker button stuck.  The tech finally agreed it was more likely to be a hardware issue vs a software problem and replaced the handset.  I came back to the office, restored my phone from my back up with all my apps, configurations, settings etc. and the new handset works fine.  All Bluetooth devices (headset, phone) etc. work beautifully!

  • After IOS 6.1 upgrade, iPhone 4S can't find my Bose Bluetooth Device

I upgraded my iPhone 4S to the IOS 6.1 version yesterday.
Since then, I can't link kup to my Bose Soundlink Bluetooth speaker.  When I place them in 'discover' mode, the iPhone cannot find any bluetooth devices.
    Any ideas ?

Are you using an LTE enabled SIM? What carrier are you using?

  • Mac Mini server OS 10.9.5 won't connect to Bose Bluetooth Audio Adapter

although my iPhone 5C running iOS 8.1 sees the Bose device just fine.
Any thoughts?  The suggestions from the Bose site are not helpful, as they assume their device will of course be seen by the Mac Mini Server.
    Thanks.

Unfortunately, resetting the PRAM, and the SMC, did not solve the problem.  Even though Bluetooth on the Mac Mini seems to be functional, I'm concerned that it only wants to allow connection to a keyboard or a mouse, or to transfer files to, say, an iPhone.  No Sound actions are available in terms of Bluetooth connectivity.
Question:  about 10 months ago, I noted the fan high at high speeds all of a sudden, and little I could do would correct it.  So, I downloaded smcFanControl 2.5.2, and use this to keep the fan at a slightly higher level than would otherwise happen, in order to maintain the CPU temperature below roughly 50 degC.  Would running this app interfere with reset of the SMC?  Or, with full operation of Bluetooth?
Alternatively:  would upgrading from Mavericks to Yosemite provide any benefit?
