[ios 8] cannot turn off or snooze alarm

I use my iPhone alarm for waking up daily, it was working fine until I updated to IOS8 yesterday.
I have two alarms. This morning, I snoozed the first alarm then turned it off while it beeped again, then I found I am not be able to turn off second alarm, so I have to turn off my phone, not sure if it is a bug or new setting.

I have a similar problem.  Ever since upgrading to iOS 8 on my iPhone 5S, and now also on the iPhone 6, my phone sounds an alarm every morning.  The only thing is my phone sounds an alarm even if I turn off and/or delete all my alarms.  I can't silence the alarm using the normal methods (tapping to silence or pressing the sleep/wake button).  I can, however, put the phone into vibrate which helps quiet the situation.  I can also put the phone into DND for a while until the alarm shuts itself off.
I guess the other possibility is that it's not an alarm going off but rather a bunch of queued of notifications.  I can't really tell.  Anyone else have similar issues?

You will have to force the iPad into recovery mode and data will be lost unless you have a backup.

Do I really have to Reset the iPad?

Yes, you will need to restore your iPad.  This link will help restore from a lost passcode:

  • IPAD Mini Freezing up in installation mode as it is installing Update iOS 8.1.3 . I cannot turn off the iPAD Mini .  How do I resolve this problem?

iPAD Mini purchased for Xmas 2013 is freezing as it tries to complete the installation of the iOS update 8.1.3.  The screen his frozen on the installation mode and I cannot turn off the iPAD Mini.  How do I turn off the iPAD Mini and resolve this problem?

Try a reset, hold the power button and home button until you see the apple then let go. Also, it is iOS 8.2 that you are trying to install since that is the current version. I had no problems updating my mini today so hopefully yours will go well too.

  • Ios 8.0.2 cannot turn off vibrate

I have an iPhone 6 Plus, on 8.0.2.  I cannot turn off vibrate, nor can I change battery view to percentage.  It will allow me to flip the switch, but nothing really happens / registers with the phone.
Vibration still on.  Battery percentage still doesn't show.
Is there any fix?  The vibrate is annoying.
    Thanks,
    Mike

Next step would be setting it up as new device without using the backup:
iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device
If it works after that, use the backup to restore from. If the problem comes back, your backup contained damaged files, causing this issue.
If still no luck, visit an Authorized Apple Service Provider to get it checked.
Any restrictions enabled in Settings/General/Restrictions? If yes, disable them and try again to change the settings.

    Morning Karla831,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at this article:
iOS: Wi-Fi settings grayed out or dim
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1559
    Resolution
Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
Verify that airplane mode is off by tapping Settings > Airplane Mode.
Reset the network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Note: This will reset all network settings, including Bluetooth pairing records, Wi-Fi passwords, VPN, and APN settings
Ensure that your device is using the latest software. To do so, connect your device to your computer and check for updates in iTunes.
If your issue is still unresolved, perform a software restore in iTunes.
    Hope this helps,
    Mario

    Try the remaining actions of:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Please help! I cannot turn off IPOD due to blocking message

Please help, dear Ipod Experts and better Ipod Users,
I cannot turn off the Ipod (when I click to the bottom ) anymore as following message appears:
"FireWire connections are not supported to transfer songs, connect to the USB cable provided"
Even resetting the Ipod the message appears again and again and I dont have the slightest idea what the IPOD is trying to tell me. I have regularly uploaded the songs via Itunes with the USB cable (Nothing else) and I use the official I-Fusion Sonic Impact to hear the songs in loud. Can there be the connection, because I remember that this message started appearing when the IPOD was connected to the I-Fusion.
In order to turn the IPOD I have to leave it on till it turns off due to battery deload...Very sad solution, isnt it?
Thanks so much for answers for a real desperate Ipod Fan

It sounds like you have reached the authorization limit of 5 computers.  So if you need to authorize another one, either deauthorize any other computers have authorized in the past that you still have physical access to or use the Deauthorize All option as described in this article.

  • Cannot turn off passcode after ios8 upgrade - iPad mini

Upgraded iPad mini to ios8 and cannot turn off the passcode.  In settings, I can turn it off but it tells me that I need to set a passcode within 60 minutes.  It then counts down and requires me to set a passcode once 60 minutes are up.  Also does not let me change duration of passcode (from immediately to 4 hours for example).  Any thoughts on how to turn it off?  Thanks.

is this your iPad or one administered by someone else...for example if I use an iPad from work our IT policy dictates that I must use a passcode and I am not allowed to turn it off.
If it's yours, just a shot in the dark, do you have restrictions enabled? If so, go in and disable them then see if that will allow you to turn off the passcode lock.

It could be that Google search is your homepage. You can try to change/delete the unwanted homepages in '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Options''' > '''General''', beside '''Home Page:''' and add a new one. [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Options%20window%20-%20General%20panel?as=u Options > General.] If the homepage was added by an extension and is being reset to Google search, you may have to find the add-on in '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Add-on''', '''Extensions''' (on the left) and either change the settings or '''Disable''' / '''Remove''' the extension.
If Firefox is stuck in a [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Session-Restore?s=restore+session&r=0&e=sph&as=s session restore] , you can try to delete the session: type '''about:sessionrestore''' in the location (address) bar, hit enter, click '''Start New Session''' , restart Firefox again and check.
The predictive search in Google is a Google feature and you may have to go into the Google Search options to turn it off.
