IOS 8: cursor positioning "magnifying circle" doesn't work anymore

When I'm editing text, and I want to position the cursor, I touch the screen until the magnification circle appears. Then I move my finger until I see (in the magnified area) where I want the cursor to go. Only in iOS 8, the magnification circle usually appears somewhere other than where the cursor is! So it's impossible to use it to position the cursor -- you can't even see the cursor.
Anybody know what to do about this?

I have experienced this many more times now so I can give more details. The magnifying circle pops up but it is empty. I have to guess whether my finger is putting the cursor in the right place but I can't see until I remove my finger whether my 'aim' was right. The magnifying circle is empty so it is no help at all.

    I have recently purchased an IPAD Mini, as the iphone has become so incredibly slow after update to IOS 7.0. I am travelling a lot and use the tethering function to access the internet. And now, after update to IOS 7.1  I can´t even use my IPAD anymore when travelling.
    I must say, enough is enough. My patience is at it´s end. A professional company doesn´t work like this !

    What Apple wants from his customers?
    1) I've paid my iPhone 4S 900 euros;
    2) I'm used to buy music and apps from iTunes store;
    3) my iCloud space costs 32 euros per year
    and, like me, millions of customers around the world!
    and Apple does not allow me (and many others) to use the internet traffic for which I (we) pay my (our) provider, that's not among those that directly sell iPhone??? Is this your idea of a really unblocked device as you falsely declsre from the pages of Apple online store ?!? Shame on you!
    If I had know that the 7.1 led to this I'd never updated my iPhone. No one (Apple and the sites that live because of her) told about this issue in their enthusiastic comments on the new, updated version, of iOS. Shame on you!
    This would claim a class action against such a behaviour!

    Hey, There are afew things you can try.
    - Simply turn your phone off and back on again
    - Hold down your home button and your lock button and let goes as soon as the screen goes black (Phone will power down) - Then turn on your phone and hey presto!
    - Back up your iPhone to your PC, then restore it..
    this ones last cause I think you may have tried it already..
    - Close all open applications

    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • After upgrade to IOS 8.3 sync with iTunes doesn't work

    After upgrade iPhone 6, iPad Air to IOS 8.3, the sync (over wifi, as well) to iTunes doesn't work anymore.
    On iMAC iTunes, the last sync's hour and day appear different from what is recorded on mobile devices (iPhone and iPad); with IOS 8.2 and the previous iTunes' version the sync worked correctly: the dates are the same only for few seconds after syncronization, then the IOS devices show the syncronization's dates related to two weeks ago.

    Bonjour Pierre,
    there seems to be a bug in iOS5 with regards to Bluetooth. THere are a lot of threads in here on this. We're all waiting for Apple to fix this...

I've tried restoring the iPad to the original configuration but this is clearly not restoring the iPad back to the original factory default!!     First, try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches after installing new software or apps.
    If this does not help, and to rule out a software issue, set it up as new device without using the latest backup, in case that backup contains corrupt data.
    Is the camera working after that, restore from the backup. Is the camera still not working, this might be a hardware failure and you'll have to get the phone serviced by Apple:

    Same problem here, after istalling ios 6 on my iphone 4s my auto lock didnt work, but when i closed my assistive touch it worked again..I didnt have this problem in the 5.1.1 version. I dont wanna close the assistive touch tough....annoying problem !!!
    Another problem occured in the settings of alarm clock. The sensivity of the on-off button is not as good as in the 5.1.1 version...
    Hope they will fix this problem soon !!!

  • Merge 2 code and script doesn't work anymore

    I have 2 AS2 codes (I think). One is a carousel gallery script that lets pictures flying in a circle. And the second code is the one that let words fly, downloaden from http://www.levitated.net/daily/levTextSpace.html.
    The scripts work seperatly, but once i merge the codes together the levTextSpace doesn't work anymore. And I can't find where the problem is. Fla file is included.

    the result is that recorder record silence, no peak power, no avarage power.
    i use xcode4 (ios inxcode4 is till 4.3, i have not downloaded the latest xcode)

    i have downloaded the latest xcode, tryed
    Documents or Cache instead of /dev/null but no luck
    i have solved but don't know why it stopped working.
    the code above was putted in a singleton class loaded and initialized once at start of the app.
    seems that records only one voice power then stops (even if i have controlled that recording=true, metering enabled=true ecc...in logs)
    now i have putted the same code in a method of the singleton class and called that method from the file of the screen "ingame" and works...
    mmm.......any ideas why it happens?
