[iOS 8] How to turn off vibrate notifications on new calendar invitations?

I don't want any notification when I receive a new calendar invitation via Exchange.  I had no problems disabling this in iOS 7 and earlier, but with iOS 8 I can't seem to turn off the vibrate notification.  In Settings...Notifications...Calendar...Invitations, I've turned off everything there.  Notification Sound is set to None, and Vibration is also set to None.
Yet whenever I receive a new calendar invitation, my phone does a short vibrate.  No alert shows up on the screen, just a short vibrate.
How do I silence this thing?
Using iOS 8, iPhone 5S 64GB.

Here is what finally worked for me in ios8 (8.1.2)
Settings > Notifications > Calendar > Invitations > Notification Sound > Set *both the alert tone and vibration* to None (they are separate settings.)  The view from the Invitations form is a little misleading - the Notification sound will say "None" even if there is a vibration setting other than None.
Not sure when this changed but it was making me a LITTLE CRAZY.

  • How to turn off vibrate for alarm on iphone 5 ios 6?

with the release of the iphone 5, apple changed the dock connection...so i can no longer use it with my ihome alarm clock without an adapter.
since apple has not yet made available the adapter, i've been using alarm in the clock app to wake-up.
i love that i can set the alarm to a song...but i do not like that it vibrates when the alarm goes.
how do i turn off the vibration for the alarm on my iphone 5 running ios 6?
    thanks.

Thanks. Seems like this cropped up after the iOS 6 upgrade. Too bad Apple doesn't quality control their software before release. Something like alarm sounds is a pretty big oversight, kind of like maps. Your solution is right on the money even if it is a very roundabout way of getting to the desired result. A simple software fix would be to offer  a sounds/vibrate option for ringtones, reminders, and alarms at the "settings" level. Other than oversight, I cant think of an ulterior motive for having it buried in ringtones.  Thanks again for the fix!

  • How to turn off Facebook Notification Sounds?

I just discovered that I cannot turn off Sounds for Facebook integration in Notification Centre on Mountain Lion.
All the other services I use - Photo Stream, Messages, Reminders, etc. - have three options to check off. "Show in Notification Centre," "Badge app icon," and "Play sound when receiving notifications." I have the third option unchecked for all services, but Facebook does not even display this option. Yet, in the sidebar, I can see that "Badges, Sounds, Banners" are enabled under Facebook.
Why does Facebook appear to offer more restricted integration options?

Have you looked in the settings and notifications and turned it off there?

  • How to turn off vibration when receiving imessages when app is open...

When I had my 4s, whenever I received an imessage when the app wasn't actively open, it would vibrate to alert me of the message.  When I opened the app to read my messages and I'm having a text conversation, the phone no longer vibrated for incoming texts while the app was actively open.  I liked this feature as the phone wouldn't be constantly shaking for each and every line of text I receive.  I now own the 5s and notice that the phone vibrates for every message, even when the app is open.  How do I set the phone up so it behaves just like when I had the 4s?  I don't want the phone to vibrate at all when the app is open, only when it is running in the background and I'm receiving a new, unread message.

Guys, I have exactly the same problem with my 5s. I would say it is a software glitch in all 5s firmwares. I have 7.0.6 and still the problem is there. I don't know about newest 7.1, I will eventually try install it. This really makes me crazy because when I chat and have the app open it vibrates with every new message and it is a shock for me every time Very annoyinh indeed. We should  report this bug to Apple. My wife has 4s and it works perfect for her - no vibrations when app is open... So it's definitelly a bug...

  • HT5129 How to turn off this notification?

Every time I start iPhoto, I get this annoying notification. How can I turn it off?

The 22.4 MB is any file, website or MobileMe gallery that you may have published to your iDisk.  If you have no items of interest on your iDisk then you can just do what Terence suggested.
If you have any MMe galleries that have photos you want to save do the following:
1 - go to http://web.me.com and use the Sign In link to go to your MMe account online.
2 - user the Download button at the to to download the photos from all of your galleries.  Each gallery will be downloaded as a separate item.
3 - then follow Terence's suggestion to get rid of the message every time you open iPhoto.

  • How to turn off sound notification?

As in subject. When I first time logged in Skype asked me if I want to have notification I clicked yes. But now I am kept being spammed with sound 'blips' of incomming messages. I tried to locate any form of settings, so far I only learnt that proifle can be updated. Am I missing something? Or perhaps beta web client is in early beta.

Thanks for that - had been looking under the Sounds Settings!

  • New iOS for iPhone 4s turns off my notifications

    Hey there
I’m sorry to hear the latest update for your device has affected your notifications!
May I ask has this affected notifications for all of your apps or just certain applications? Try heading to Settings>Notification Center on your device and check that notifications are currently enabled for your favorite apps. You can choose your preferred notification type also, such as banners which show the notification information, or an alert which will also allow you to open the app directly.
    I hope this helps!

  • Yoga 2 Pro -- how to turn off switching mode notifications -- e.g. "tent mode", "tablet mode", etc?

Does anyone know how to turn off the notifications that pop up in the upper right corner telling you that you have just changed from one configuration to another -- e.g. changing from tent mode to tablet mode?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Just disable it -
Task manager > Startup > Click "Yoga Picks" > Click "disable"
Next time you start your computer no more annoying pop ups.  If you want to be annoyed again you can always re-enable it.

  • How do I turn off the notification in Backup Assistant Plus Media?

If you turn on "schedule backup", there is nowhere to select the time of the backup. Setting the time of "Recurring Sync" in Backup Assistant + Contacts has no affect on the time of the backup in Backup Assistant Plus Media. Invariably it runs it a 3 am and then sounds the default notification sound. I can't find any way to stop it except to set the default notification sound to "silent". There are some notifications that I want to hear, so this is not a good solution. Does anyone know how to turn off the notification sound?

        timsak,
Great question! We don't want these notfications keeping anybody up late at night and I personally know how what feels; we'll get to the bottom of it. You can access your Backup assistant plus profile on our website and ajust settings there http://vz.to/1mOFxfz and from your phone, adjust the Sound Settings and Backup Assistant Plus Settings by launching your System Settings. If problems persist, please reset the application from your phone http://vz.to/18HfhrM .

  • HT3576 HOW Do I TURN OFF PUSH NOTIFICATIONS THRU ITUNES

How do I turn off push notifications when using words with friends on my iphone. It tells me to go thru itunes. Where do I do this??

    1. Provide your iOS version
    2. Define: "using words with friends."  Are you referring to text messages or a specific 3rd party app?  In any case, this is not controlled by iTunes.
Settings > Notification Center > select app you're using (Messages??) > select what type of notifications you do and don't want.

  • How to turn off 100% battery notification?

Updated to lollipop on the s5 and now the alert wakes me up when the battery charge hits 100%. I always set to vibrate mode and all notifications off except for the wake up alarm. Didn't do this with kit kat. Verizon/Samsung you gotta fix on next release soon. ******* wife off also when she wakes up from the alert. Don't need you to wake me up to tell me to unplug the charger. Googled it and others are complaining also.

    GiantsFan888,
Look no further help is here! I understand how you feel. I have an LG phone and since the update to Lollipop it also has this battery notification when it hits 100% charged. The phone is working as designed with the Lollipop update. There is no option to turn off the notification that you hear when the battery has charged to 100%.
