IOS 8 install hangs at logo (iPhone 5)
I'm trying to install iOS 8 on my iPhone 5. I had plenty of free space. The download appears to have gone fine.
However, it keeps hanging during the install. I get the logo, and a progress bar is a third of the way through. Rebooting doesn't help. Every time, it hangs at the logo with the progress bar stuck.
I ended up having to do a factory restore. It was a giant pain in the ***, and took hours. I still don't have it back to where it was.

Hi there,
I've just installed ios 7.0.6 on my iphone 4 and now lost voice on outgoing and incoming calls.It rings on incoming and I'm told rings on the recipient's 'phone, but then no vocal communication...its just dead. My simm is ok, i've checked it, I've done a full clean and restore of the 'phone. Still no calls.
I've not caused any physical or water damage to the 'phone. I would welcome any help/suggestions to get my calls back asap.
Please help.

Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).
Also consider deleting and reinstalling the Mail Account in question. -
Installing IOS 5.1.1 on my iphone failed and now the phone will not show up on itunes and is not recognized by my PC. I tried all troubleshooting Apple says to do minus uninstalling itunes. My wifes iphone still works fine with the same cable and itunes on my PC. ----- Help!
Hello. I was like this yesterday after upgrading 5.1.1. The proccess failed and the iphone only showed the USB cable with the iTunes logo.
What I did was connect the iphone to my wife's PC, and there, with a clean itunes installation, install a clean 5.1.1. Then, went back to my iMac and connect it again, and now it works.
But now, with my iphone working as new, it still cannot be showed up in itunes. I am still working on it.

No wifi and horrible battery life after iOS 7 install on iPhone 4S!
After the iOS 7 install on my iPhone 4S, my battery life is markedly worse and my phone will not connect to my home wifi. Every other device, including my wife's iPhone 5 and two iPad 2's, still connect perfectly. Please help. I wish I could go back to 6.1.3.
I've had issues since the upgrade too-messages wouldn't load, phone locked up and would turn off at random times. Then I noticed my data usage going up a ton in one day and checked and it wasn't connecting to my home wifi. Called tech support and they went through all the troubleshooting they could find and nothing helped. Had to go upgrade. You might try to reset your network settings, but that didn't help with mine

How do I install ios 5.1.1 to my iPhone 4 (running on ios 5.0.1) if ios 6 is out?
I am currently trying to install ios 5.1.1 on my iPhone 4 (who is running on ios 5.0.1) but iTunes says "the device is not eliglble for the build". I have been trying to install it from a chosen ipsw as I don't want ios 6 to get into my iPhone.
Does anyone know how to install an ios that is not the latest version?You can't because Apple have stopped signing 5.1.1 so if you want to upgrade then you'll have to upgrade to ios 6 which is the latest or not at all. You won't be able to upgrade to 5.1.1 now that 6 is out.

I did an icloud backup on my old 4S with iOS 8.3 and wanted to install on my new iPhone 6 but it only has iOS 8.1.3! Can I do/use the backup after I chose "install as new iPhone"?
Because I cannot update the software until I chose if I want to begin with a new phone setting or download a backup.
But the backup is of course not compatible with the old iOS.
So will it be possible to get the new iPhone going, then do the software update to 8.3 and then download / use the data from
my 4S icloud backup?1. Settings > General > Software Update > Update the to 8.3
2. Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content & Settings
3. Reactivate phone and follow prompts to restore iCloud (or iTunes) backup. -

There is no such thing as an iPhone 's3'. There is a 3G which can only be updated to iOS 4.2.1 and a 3GS which can be updated to iOS 6.1.3.

Little hard to understand what you are asking. Let me guess that this not an Iphone4S issue. Its a problem with your service provider. Contact them.

I was installing iOS 7.1.1 on my iPhone 4 and it had already downloaded but when I clicked install now, there was an error message that said, " there was an error in installing the software update on your device." How do I fix that problem?
It depends on how much you want the new apps. iOS 7 did slow down the iPhone 4 a little bit. Not a lot, but you will notice a bit of lag for awhile. You should get used to it and you will then be able to download the newer apps you are interested in.
iOS 7 does look very different from iOS 6. They did away with all the faux leather, stitching, glossy reflections and other skeuomorphic touches that had been the iPhones trademark look since the beginning. Google iOS 7 images and you will see what I mean. I personally like the "flat" look that they went with in 7 and the other features that come with it make up for it.
Some people do have a problem with battery life on their phones, but I think a lot of that comes from using the phone a lot in the beginning to see all the new stuff. But if you set it up the way you like and turn off the real battery drainers like push email and the screen animations (I got tired of those really fast anyway, I just want an app to open, I don't need to see it spring out of the icon) and your battery life should not be worse than what you are used to.
You will see a huge jump in performance between an iPhone 4 and a 5S.
