IOS 8 network and wifi
Hi
I am using iOS 8 on my iPhone 5s since yesterday and it seems that my network is slower than it should be, over wifi and cellular. Does anyone has the same issue?
I am experiencing slow internet on my iPhone 5 too. Everything else seems quicker. I'm gonna try clearing cookies and cache from safari.

TS4006 can this find my iPhone app work if you are not connected to cellular data network and wifi
can this app work without cellular data network and wifi, if yes then how exactly this work ?
To use Find my iPhone you have to set it up on your iOS device before you lose it. Your device also needs to have iOS 5, be switched on and connected to wi-fi/3G.

Please help. At work we have netgear and tplink. Since I updated my mini iPad and iPhone 4S with ios 7wifi drops all the time. What is the problem?
Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

I've just updated my iOS to the new 6. I'm at home now and trying to connect to my wifi at home. Every time I get the tick to show that I am connected, I'm redirected to apple website with a message saying that the page I'm am trying to reach cannot be found, and login is at the top of my screen, can anyone tell me why I am experiencing this problem?

PS: Also tried resetting network settings. didn't work -
Ios 6 and WiFi -- Apple, are you paying attention?
Epic fail, Apple! Where was the QC before this ios was deployed?
I'm just one of millions having this same issue. You need to release an ios 6.1 to fix this.
iPhone 5 will connect to a wifi with no security; but won't join a WPA2-PSK network.
Also upgraded my wife's phone to ios 6 (before I knew of this issue), and she lost her wifi access as well; and can't get it back.Thanks. Didn't know that.

We have 3 computers - a desktop, a laptop, and a teen's laptop. All running Window 7. Desktop is wired to router, laptops on Wi-Fi. We need the laptop and desktop to share printer, files, folders, and all actions. The teen needs
to be able to access printer (connected to the desktop). Question is, how to protect the privacy of desktop and laptop when teen's friends come over and logon to the wifi. May be a dumb question, with a really obvious answer, but in looking at
the answers on the forum, can't seem to find one that applies quite right. Thanks! You will have to do some research and reading to get a grasp of networking. Here are a couple of links to read:

My pc is connected to the router using an ethernet cable. My iPhone5 is connected to the same router via WiFi. Is there a way to sync my iPhone 5 with this setup and how? Thanks.
You can sync your iPhone to your computer using either a USB cable or WiFi.

iOS 5 used to allow Airplay between iPad (WiFi) and Apple TV (Ethernet) as long as they were on the same network, i.e. connected to the same wired/wireless router. In iOS 6, now both the iPad and the Apple TV have to be on the same network and both have to be connected using WiFi ? Why did they change this ? Means that the iPad and the Apple TV box both have to be in range of the wireless router when this wasn't a restriction before. Apple TV could be anywhere as long as it was connected to the same wireless router via ethernet cable. Seems like an unnecessary thing to restrict.
I have found with AppleTV that it is the IPV6 on the computer you want to access is the problem. The issue is that Homegroup on Win 7 or Win 8 requires IPV6 to work, but AppleTV won't work with IPV6. (So maybe double check you have IPV6 turned off)
So you have to make a choice - Homegroup or AppleTV.... but you can't have both, until Apple brings ATV up to date. (crazy that it does not recognise IPV6 - c'mon Apple!)
You can set up sharing individually in Win 7 or 8 and have the ATV access files that way.
Having said that, there is always the exception.. I have an old HP home server running Win8 and it services ATV - but is part of the Homegroup... have no idea why it works on both, but no other machine on the home network will talk to both ATV and Homegroup at the same time! -
I updated an iPod touch, an iPad 2, and an iPhone 4 to iOS 6, and all of them now will not connect to WiFi. They all give this wierd 404 error page from Apple and insist that I need to login to the network. What's the fix? None of the recommended fixes work in any of these devices. Reset device, reset network, renew lease, etc. None of them work.
Does the iPod work OK?
Does it charge when connect to the computer?
Does it appear in My Computer?
Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Compare with the iPod that does work/connect.
I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1

iPod touch (3rd generation)
iPod touch (3rd generation) features a 3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen multi-touch display and 32 GB or 64 GB flash drive. You can browse the web with Safari and watch YouTube videos with Wi-Fi. You can also search, preview, and buy songs from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store on iPod touch.
The iPod touch (3rd generation) can be distinguished from iPod touch (2nd generation) by looking at the back of the device. In the text below the engraving, look for the model number. iPod touch (2nd generation) is model A1288, and iPod touch (3rd generation) is model A1318. -
WiFi problem with iOS 6 and network login screen
Here is a detail problem description:
Equipment: iPad 3 with iOS 6
Environment: corporate network with a login screen that requires login every 24 hours.
What happens: The very first time I tried to login into the network everything worked fine. The login screen showed up (as always did with iOS 5) as expected. But, the login screen does NOT come after 24 hours (when re-login is required), unless I will reboot the iPad (using the 2 buttons), or I will reset the network settings (which again does a reboot). Switching on-off the WiFi, or any other remedy does NOT work.
The problem is not related to the network or the particular iPad or iPhone. All iPads and iPhones with iOS 5.2 or earlier work just fine. Only the ones with iOS 6 have this issue.
I would appreciate any creative idea to resolve the issue. Thank you.Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398

Help. I just updated my iPhone and iPad software to IOS 5. Now my iPad isn't connecting to my WiFi. It "sees" it, and the network name even shows up under WiFi, but it's like it just keeps grinding and grinding. Sometimes it will let me click on the network and see the IP address. When I can see it, the address on my iPad is different from the one showing up on my desktop, but I can't figure out how to change it on my iPad. Any suggestions to get me hooked back into my wireless network?
If the problem persists after you reboot as suggested by Ralph:
Trouble connecting usually means interference, or another WiFi on the same channel.
If you have any cordless phones, keyboards, or cameras, check what frequency they use.
From a MAC or Windows machine you can see what channel each of the available networks are using. Make sure your network is on a channel nobody else nearby is also using. -
Both my iPod touch and wife's iPad2 updated to iOS 6 and now no network
Both my iPod touch and wife's iPad2 updated to iOS 6.
They both say they are connected to the wireles, but Safari and all Internet apps say there is not internet connection.
Both our MacBooks connect fine to the Internet.
I assume there will be an iOS6.1 to fix this soon.is there a solution to The Problem iTunes 10.7 - ICU 3.5 ?
