IOS 8 on business exchange

Hi everyone. Upgraded to IOS 8 on my iPhone, which used to be connected to my work exchange - it now won't verify. I have been using my iPad and carrying both around, which isn't ideal. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get this working again? One forum suggests rolling back to IOS7 but apparently that's been disallowed now by Apple. I tried deleting the email account but now I have no contacts on my phone! What a mess. If anyone can help please suggest your ideas! Thank you.

Hi evil.eve,
If you are not getting push notifications from your Exchange email account, I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -

  • Will IOS 6 support viewing Exchange calendar attachments?

    Good day,
I use an iPhone in the workplace, and my calendar appointments always have attachments.  I can not view these attachments in IOS, yet on my old Android phone, I was able too.  I switched to the iPhone for the stability, however this is becoming a growing problem as more employees are getting iPhones and running across the same issue.
My question is quite simple, will IOS 6 support viewing Exchange calendar attachments?
    Thank you.

Our company is making the move from the BB to the iPhone. We've had iPad (3 series) issued to us for a little while now and that's been the biggest and really the only complaint. All of our schedule sheets for our Field Service Engineers are sent via attatchments. We can't see where we're going if we accept the appointment.
Is there a way to make this work? The Samsung's don't allow this either.

  • IOS 4.2.1 & Exchange OWA 2010 - account verified, though empty mailbox

    Hi,
We have upgraded our enterprise exchange server from 2003 to 2010 and implemented a new domain. At first when i deleted my old account from the iPhone and re-added my new account (since the OWA address and domain credentials etc had changed)i was getting no messages, the phone would verify the exchange account ok, but no mail messages would download, even though i had mail. Anyway one day later it worked and started to sync, thats great i thought, being on iOS 4.0.1 at the time. So i upgraded at the weekend to 4.2.1, and now ever since im getting the same problem, no email, accoun t is verified ok on the phone when adding, but mailbox checks for mail, but appears empty.
    Things i have tried:
another user on a iphone 3g on 4.1 - at first no emails, but later it synced OK.
I have tried with SSL and without,, no joy.
    removed re-added account, no joy.
prefixed username with DOMAIN\ still no joy.
tried another test account on my domain with my phone, still the same.
it seems people on older iOS (4.1 and 4.0.1) can work ok, but 4.2.1 doesnt, this seems to be the common denominator here, not our exchange environment. Any ideas guys?

    Hello
    Check the following:
Make sure your account is not a member of an AD protected group - for example Domain Admin, Enterprise Admin etc.
Check if security inheritence is disabled on the user object. If it is, turn it back on. This in done through the security tab on the user object -> Advanced and the checkbox in the lower left corner "Allow inheritable permissions....." - this should be enabled.
    Presto!

    Hi Inderjit,
Does this issue occur on only one user or all users?
If only one user has this issue, I suggest performing troubleshooting on Outlook client first.
    1. Please run Outlook under safe mode to avoid some AVs and add-ins.
    2. Please start Outlook with "outlook.exe /cleanfreebusy".
    3. Please try to re-create profile to refresh the caches.
Then please perform troubleshooting on Exchange server side.
    1. This issue may occured due to mailbox corruption in the folder level.
    2. Genrally we can check the mailbox property PR_FreeBUsy_NT_SECURITY_DESCRIPTOR and verify the permission.
    3. I suggest re-granding the specific user permission for testing.
    4. I suggest moving the sepcific user's mailbox to another database, issues will solved by itself automatically.
If all users have this issue, I suggest resetting the permission on Calendar folder and give the necessary permissions (Free Busy Time/ Free Busy Details /Full Details) via Exfolders.

  • IOS and Activesync mail Exchange (the never ending story)

    Hi All,
And here we go again: even with the update 8.1.3 Mail with Exchange ActiveSync stopped working.
The problem occurs now in every update from 8.0 (and even with upgrades version 7.x). For each upgrade of IOS email and activesync stop working, not only in push mode but also in scheduled mode (eg every 15 minutes). The email does not update until I access mail app.
The Exchange Server does not change for years, and the solution must be provided on IOS from Apple and not from Microsoft Exchange Server since the problem occurs only on IOS and only after updates of iOS. This story is really frustrating. No Android or Microsoft Phone has never had this problem. I begin to think that changing phone is the only alternative.
I do not want to buy paid app to use the e-mail, a feature that should work perfectly with the default tools of a smartphone device from 729 EUR.

I posted this another another topic. Anyone have any clue?
Well, here's a new twist. I purchased the Academic Edition of Aperture 1.0 DIRECTLY from Apple and when the rebate was announced, I applied for it. A couple of weeks later I received a letter stating that my serial number "cannot be read, is incomplete, or was not recognized as a valid serial number". OK, my penmanship isn't the best, so I sent them one of the Aperture Software Coupons with one of the serial number stickers attached to it thinking that this would surely be sufficient proof of ownership. Today, I received the same letter again. I just got off the phone with their help desk and all they could tell me was that my serial number isn't eligible for the rebate with no reason why. When I spoke with the supervisor, they stated they don't have access to that information, only that it comes up as ineligible.
Did I miss something? Were there qualifications to the rebate that I overlooked? As a PC user trying to make the switch, this kind of customer service dosen't bode well.
(I understand that Apple doesn't allow the free exchange of information on these boards so the moderators will probably delete this post fairly quickly. If you have some insight, you can email me at davedotmelvinatgmaildotcom)
    Thanks,

  • IPhone 6 with iOS 8 Issues with Exchange Mail Header

Multiple users report issues with Headers in the Apple Mail Client
Condensed/Squished Text (in the Message Header)
Blank Headers (in the Message Previews)
Touch Calibration - Off by 2cm after attempting to interact with blank messages
Has anyone else been experiencing these issues... any fixes?

Did you find a solution for this problem yet?
We are haveing the same problem where I work.
Also using Exchange server and IOS devices.
Are you using a VPN tunnel on the IOS devices?
A few Days ago I had this problem on my own device (iPhone6, IOS8.3)
I was Reading emails on my way to work.
When I got to work and started the computer ONE of the emails was marked unread in Outlook.
On the device it was marked as "read".
One thing that I remember is that I had bad Connection at the time I was syncing emails and I got
the popup message: "Can not get emails - Connection to server failed" (my translation from Swedish)
I have a feeling that the error message and the problem with unread emails are connected somehow.
Also, when I turn off the email account for my iPhone (to remove all emails) and turn it back on (reload all emails)
the mail that was set as "read" is now "unread" again on my iPhone.
This means (speculatinos) that sometimes the device mark emails as "read" but for some reason it does not
tell the server that it is "read". So the server still Thinks that the email is "unread".

  • IOS 4.3.1 + Exchange 2010 "was" fine with the mailbox on Ex2007 server

    Hi,
i had used my iphone with ios 4.3.1 and active sync.
The mailbox was hosted on the old exchange 2007 server.
A new exchange 2010 server was running the last 4 weeks and the iphone was connection with activesync against the new exchange 2010 through local wlan and over internet.
After i moved my profile to the new server i can´t connect anymore to the new server!
    Any idea what happend?

It was working fine the last weeks with my mail account sitting on exchange 2007.
Today i moved several mailboxes from exchange 2007 to 2010 SP1.
I have some domain accounts that are created new and had their mailbox created on the exchange 2010 sp1 system.
With these accounts i can connect and retrieve mails.
But with my account (moved from 2007 to 2010) i can´t.
All i get is a blank mailbox on my iphone.
I even removed the mail account from my iphone and recreated the account.
    But it won´t retrieve mails.
I refresh the offline addressbook at the exchange 2010 but nothing will help.

  • IOS 7 Mail and Exchange server - no more threaded mail messages?

In iOS 6, Exchange-hosted Mail would show entire message threads, meaning you'd see your reply as a separate message. In iOS 7, it appears that unless the party responds, you won't have an email 'conversation' and you don't know what you've said (or whether your message got through) unless you look in "Sent Mail."
Mail.app in Mountain Lion does not work this way. There, all messages are threaded.
Anyone know how to fix this?
    thanks!

    Hello whizzo,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
Check out this setting to see if the option to group by thread is turned off or on.
    Mail settings
Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars, where you can:
Turn on Organize by Thread to group related messages together

  • IOS 7.1 and Exchange email problem

When I check my email, the iphone reloads all the emails, as if it were the first time. The only thing different is the upgrade to ios 7.1. Is anyone else experiencing this.
I have the iphone 5 and connect to an Exchange Server for work email.

    Hello JohnSantaMonica,
It sounds like whenever you open your Mail app, all the Exchange emails download again as though you just set up the account. I recommend starting by closing the Mail app:
iOS: Force an app to close
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
    Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that and restart the phone and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

  • TS4438 iOS 6 and Microsoft Exchange: Meeting events unexpectedly canceled

We had a meeting cancelled by an invited member and not the meeting organiser. It was a recurring meeting and the entire series was cancelled and a notification sent to all invited members. The user who 'cancelled' the meeting and the meeting organiser do not have any share permissions to each others calendar.
We are also having recurring meetings disappear from our iPhones/iPads, but can be viewed on Outlook.
Is there a workaround for this issue, especially for the users who travel most of the time and do not have access to Outlook at all times?
We are using Microsoft Exchange 2003, all services packs and patches have been installed, and IOS 6.1.4.

We also just saw this today, and we are running Exchange 2010 SP2 RU6 And Outlook 2010 (64bit) and it happened on an iPhone running iOS 6.0.1.  We've had a number of issues with iOS devices corrupting the MAPI info for the organizer and corrupting our meetings, initially it was though that was fixed with iOS 6.1.3 but no go, it's still an issue (that started with iOS 6.0.1.)
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2768774
However this behavior with the invited member (who declined from his iPhone) being able to blow the whole meeting for all invited members is a new one...  We're working on a plan to update to Exchange 2010 SP3 to address the issue linked above, will re-post back here if that also resolves this new issue.

  • Temp fix for iOS 6 not pushing Exchange mail

    All,
If you are reading this, you are probable having the same problem as I am:
After you switched to the iPhone 5, Exchange mail is no longer PUSHing to your device.  I have done testing and this problem affects:
    1) iPhone 5's running connecting to Exchange 2007 or Exchange 2010 servers.
    This does not effect:
    1) my iPhone 4S running iOS 6 Beta 6.0 10A5376e
    Troubleshooting:
    1) Wiped phone and started with completely fresh iOS 6 on my iPhone 5. The only thing I did was add my exchange account.
    -Still had same issue.
** How to fix this issue:
    1. Go to Mail, Contacts, and Calendar.  Click "Fetch New Data".  Make sure push is on.
    2.  Go back to Mail, Contact, and Calendar.  Click on your exchange account. Click on "Days to Sync".  Even if it is set to what you want this on, chance it to a different setting (i.e. 1 week).  You can change this back later, but this is the only way to fix it.
    3. Go back to Mail COntact and Calendar.  Click on "Show".  No matter what this setting is on, change it to a different setting. (i.e. 100 recent messages).
    4.  Reboot your iPhone 5
    5.  Exchange PUSH will be working now.
    Thanks,
    Clay

Thanks Superclay, but I've already tried that and more...still no luck it works for like 5 to 10 minutes then stops pushing.  I even went as far replacing my iphone 5 today and still no luck.  I also deleted my exchange account from my exchange server and recreated it, deleted device partnerships and re-added.....nothing push is still not working.  Push email for me is very significant.  I too am on Verizon.  I had to go back to my 4S which is running IOS 6 but push works flawlessly on that device.  It must be some kind of code that runs on the IOS 6 version for iphone 5 that is fudging this up.  I hope Apple and Verizon tackle this issue immediately because its causing me not to use my iphone 5, such a critical feature....not working...stay positive!

  • Trying to connect a home computer using Outlook 2013 to my business Exchange server 2010.

I have a new Dell XPS with Outlook 2013 installed and the native email client installed. I was able to enter in my exchange 2010 credentials to the native email client and it worked. when I try to enter the credentials for Outlook 2013 I received an error
    message.
"the name cannot be resolved. the connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable.
outlook must be online or connected to complete this action"

    Hi,
To narrow down the cause, I’d like to recommend the following troubleshooting:
Check if you can connect to your Exchange server externally with another account.
Double confirm the error message when test your RPC over HTTP connectivity.
If you have any question, please feel free to let me know.

  • IPhone 4 (IOS 4.3.3) Exchange 2003 Contacts created on iPhone will NOT sync w Exchange

if a contact is created in Exchange (via Outlook or OWA) it will sync into the iPhone flawlessly. But if it is created on the iPhone, it WILL NOT go into Exchange. I sync to my PC; I make sure enough time has passed for a iPhone sync-still DOES NOT WORK.
    HELP PLEASE

This sounds very much like the sync is set to the wrong account when you have more than one email account you must set the correct account to be the one to sync to.... in settings mail contacts and calendars check to see which is the default account...  and ensure the exchange one is the default account if that is what you want to sync with ref contacts. Also do this in the calendars section at the bottom default calendar. i have this a lot with my directors they add entries into the iphone calendar and not the exchnage caledar and wonder why they are not syncing !!!! you can also see this in calendars itself their is a tab in the top left corner showning which calendars are being used, also each calendar entry will tell you which calendar it is using
