IOS 8 Phone Calls Now Crashing
Any one else......silly question I know. Have an iphone who wishes to use as a phone too. After IOS 8 when answering any calls the screen changes to "swipe to turn off" or "cancel". Without doing anything the call is cut off and screen goes blank.
How do I get my phone back, @$#!@ it being a computer? I just need to be contactable.
What a piece of junk. Sell Sell Sell your apple stock. This one is too massive to ignore. I have been an apple die hard from the beginning with just about every product you make in my house. Basically rendered useless.
I am more perturbed that I have to consider a Samsung. Lightening strike me down. What a predicament.
Solution - Apple, offer the step by step to rollback to version 7.1.2 and get your devices back on par with those who want. Tried off another sight but locked my iphone and reverted back to ios8.
Good day! I also have a problem with the iPhone 5 on ios 8. I Updated to ios 8 and there were problems in the form of: "1.Messages which I refer, come second person on behalf of my mail, 2 some incomprehensible synchronization with the" iCloud "does not show in my photostream, but the photos were added in a chaotic manner with "iCloud"; 3. there is a delay or freeze when I use applications; 4 pressing the "Home" happens, as if pressed three times (at random) and triggered "Guides Accessing "; 5 pressing the" On / Off ", works mostly on the second press, 6 warms and quickly discharges the phone.

Any phone call now rings FaceTime on imac and iPad air.
I recently set up my phone to relay SMS messages to iMessage on my Mac and IPad. The SMS messages have been coming through fine, since.
However, around the same time I made those changes, whenever my iPhone gets a phone call, my iPad, and IMac' FaceTime simultaneously ring (even though these are just audio only phone calls.)
Any idea why, and if I can stop this from happening?Because of this Connect your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac using Continuity scroll down to phone calls and do the opposite of whats posted.

IPhone 3gs upgrades to ios 5 and now crashed
I have spent the whole day upgrading the families iphones, ipods and ipad. The 32gb iphone 3gs has now crashed and is stuck in a loop of shwoing the Apple logo, then goes into the connect to itunes screen adn then back ot the apple logo. It will not power off, will not hard or soft reset and will not go into recovery mode.
I have trried all resets by being both connected to itunes and not. I have installed all latest itunes. I am using windows 7. I have also tried on another computer using viats, but no difference.
What now?If your iPhone is in recovery mode, your data is already gone.

Sounds like there is some serious backlash going on right now...oh yeah a shitload of people must be blowing steam on them now.... im gonna rip them a new ******* tonight when they accept calls again

Initiated my new i6 after backing up from my 5c. When I try to make a phone call now I'm automatically redirected to an outside operator that's going to require me to use a credit card to make my call. Under Settings when I go to Phone it says my Phone Number is "Unknown" and I don't know how to change that and enter my number. ???
Me again. Just spent half an hour in the Apple Store. It seems to be a network issue because when they ran a diagnostic it showed that all of the calls were being dropped by the network, not the device. So it may be that my carrier is not ready to deal with the new technology. Hopefully a carrier update will come soon. It is early days yet. Even the Apple Store employees did not have watches yet. They were envious of mine! And mine was the first "watch question" the guy at the Genius Bar had dealt with.

I updated my iPhone 4S to iOS 7 now my phone constantly deletes all my contacts and takes days to download them from my iCloud again, constantly needs to be turned off and on sometimes several times to make a phone call, the scroll rarely works, is there anything I can do, the apple tech told me it was something I'd just have to get used to, my phone worked perfectly before the update.
Even if it is a hardware problem they should fix it regardless of warranty. If you buy a car and after 1.5 years the doors fall off due to a failure in their design and construction, do you think the car manufacturer could pull off what Apple is trying to do? Yes the car still delivers its primary objective of driving from A to B, but significant functionality has been lost due to their fault.
It is the same with this iPhone wifi problem. Apple are a disgrace, I have had significant Apple Hardware failures with my MacBook Pro and iPhone within 2 years of purchase. Pathetic quality. -
I USED TO be able to make phone calls using continuity on my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014) with Yosemite (10.10) via my iPhone 6 Plus on iOS 8.1 without any problems. Once I updated Yosemite to 10.10.1, my iPhone's springboard would continually crash where it brings up the Apple logo and quickly restarts repeatedly until I end the call. Just so that you know, I am able to stay on the call while this is occurring the whole time.
I need to reiterate, this all started happening as soon as I updated Yosemite to 10.10.1 while still on iOS 8.1. I know this because I made a few phone calls (loving the feature), updated Yosemite to 10.10.1, then made a few phone calls afterwards, and this started happening.
When iOS 8.1.1 came out, I eagerly updated hoping this issue would go away, and it did not. I'm hoping Apple notices this post. If anyone else has this problem, please contact Apple and chime in this post as well. Thank you Apple for incorporating continuity calling. I love this feature, but need to use it without my phone's springboard constantly crashing.I have this issue as well. I am using an iPhone 6 plus, iPad Air 2, 5K iMac, and MacBook Pro. When I make a continuity calls from any device, the springboard crashes. This only happens with outgoing calls, incoming calls are functioning normal. I am currently working with multiple Apple Senior Advisors, and they are working directly with iOS a engineers. I have an active open case and will update this thread when a resolution is found.
Just a tip for everyone with this issue, restoring your devices and setting them up as new WILL NOT correct this issue. Save yourself the hassle. I did this with my iPhone, iPad, and MacBook and the issue still persists. -
I had to reset my IPhone 5 after the new IOS 7.2 update because phone calls were not coming through. Now I no longer have the microsphone on the bottom of my key pad to do voice texts.
Can any one tell me how to put it back on there?

My iPhone crashing after latest IOS Update. Screen is not working anymore. I cannot use buttons, the screen is freezing up.Only thing I am able, is to 'restart' the phone. Now it does it after 5 minutes itself! Already removed en reset phone, no success!

I updated my 4s to iOS 6.0, now i can no longer make phone calls. Everything else works.
I updated to the new iOS 6.0 software for my iphone 4s and now every phone call I make is ended before it rings. Messaging, voicemail, facetime, wifi, 3G/4G network are all still working. I've turned it off then on and reset the network settings and still nothing. any other ideas?

Please help after updating my iphone 4 to ios 5.01 I cannot make phone calls or receive phone calls anymore, please help, I am so annoyed first battery and now can't make calls!
The same thing is happening with my wife's iPhone 4 and we can't figure it out. When placing a call, the screen freezes and she needs to restart the entire phone.
She upgraded to 5.01 this morning over the air while it was plugged in. Immediately afterwards, this problem started happening. We've tried restarting the phone several times and plugged in to iTunes but there's nothing she can do do to fix it.

I bought my 6 plus last night decided to upgrade the IOS 8 like they suggest and now all I see is a white screen with the apple sign in the middle with an occasional flashing red screen. Did my new phone seriously just crash? What do I do now? I left it overnight with the white screen, thinking maybe it'll go away and needs time to upgrade. Woke up this morning, nope still white screen. Very disappointed with Apple. I was so excited to get my phone and can't even use it right now.
First turn the iPhone off and back on and see if it works. If that doesn't work then do a Reset by holding the Sleep / Wake Button (The Power Button) and the Home Button at the same time until the white Apple Logo appears, the release both Buttons and wait until a Full Reset occurs. The iPhone 6 should come back to your Lock-Screen. If that doesn't work then you could connect the iPhone 6 via the Lightning Cable to a Computer with a Current Version of iTunes. Then open iTunes on the Computer and wait until your see a Button that represents your attached iPhone and click on it. This should bring up a Summary Screen on the Computer within iTunes. At that point your can choose Update Software if an Update is available or Restore the iPhone to Factory Settings / New In The Box, or you could try to Restore from your Backup if a current Backup had already been saved from a previous iPhone.
If you don't have a computer with iTunes and you can get the iPhone back on, then go to Settings>General>Software Update and see if the iPhone is still on iOS 8.0 or if it is now on iOS 8.0.2 -
Help! i accidently interrupted my iphone upgrade to ioS 6 and now my phone wont turn on completely. it just keeps showing the apple. it also wont register with itunes...i have tried turning it off and restarting it multiple times but nothing is working. HELP!
hey man, i feel your pain... here's my story and i'm pretty sure this will work for you... on the 19th of september i went to upgrade ios 6 and paused it about 1/10 through... when i plugged my phone up at night the screen was at the normal lock screen.. when i woke up at 10:30 am i went to check my phone and the screen appeared as an apple logo with a progression bar about 6/10 full.. it didn't seem to be progressing any more, but i guess that was only because it was so slow trying to download over wifi because it had all night to finish downloading.. anyways i needed to check my texts and the time so i held down the lock button and the phone turned off during the download.. when i tried to turn it on the apple logo would appear like normal trying to boot up.. then it would fade away and cut off.. then seconds later try to turn on again, by itself, repeatedly for hours on september 20. i tried restarting it (holding lock and home button down 10-15 seconds) but the problem with that is that the phone was already trying to turn on itself so it never would restart correctly... (continued turning on and off by itself).. i went to verizon and they said my phone is screwed.. go to apple if you wanna pay.. i called apple support and a lady helped me out here's the solution that worked after hours of thinking my phone is totally screwed.. when the phone is dark and cut off.. press and hold the home button before you plugin your sync cable to your usb port.. (have itunes up and ready) continue holding the home button and plugin the sync cable.. still holding the button, wait for a message from itunes appear that says it recognizes your device in recovery mode.. press ok.. the screen on your iphone should be a snyc cable and and arrow pointing to an itunes symbol... from there it is pretty self explanatory.. you will need to restore and update your phone from there which should be an option after you press ok... it takes awhile.. your phone will then go through one, or maybe a few progression bars (it may vary, not sure).. while your itunes will be restoring software & firmware.. when everything is done on itunes and your phone.. your phone should boot right up!!! reply if you have any more questions.. i'm so glad i resolved my issue today.. good luck!

Can anyone help? I updated my iPhone 4 with latest iOS 7 and now wi fi is greyed out, Bluetooth won't work and tbh am so angry! Phone now out of warranty so apple won't help without it costing me. Don't want to pay as its an apple problem not phone problem. It worked ok before. Tried everything, even clearing it down. Can't even back it up now unless I connect to a pc!
I have not had wifi since November when I upgraded to the newest IOS version. I called the Apple help line and they told me some things to do and I tried them all and they worked for a few hours and then wifi shut off again. I kept doing what they told me and it worked for a couple more days and then I could never turn it on again. My blue tooth doesn't work either. I had to actually increase my data usage with AT&T becuase of this. When I did that in December I went to the Apple store and was told that it is a hardware issue and since my phone is out of warranty I would have to pay for a new phone because they could not fix the issue. My upgrade isn't up until June 2014 so not only do I have to wait for the upgrade and I am not paying for a new phone but I have to pay $10 plus extra a month on my cell phone bill because I was going over on my Data!!! I have been beyond upset about this and Apple is not doing anything about this nor did they offer up some way to resolve the issue because obviously it is not just some rare incident if several people are having this issue. Who knows how many people out there have had this issue and have not said anything about it. Now there is a newer update that I can't do because it requires wifi in order to download.
June can not get here fast enough and I may not go back to Iphone after dealing with this for so long with no help from Apple.
