IOS 8 pictures

"Recently Added" does not match my requirement of seeing all my photos chronological. I can only see 40 pictures and I had about 300 pictures in camera roll. I want them  back on the menu and in chronological order. I'm reaaaally mad. No times to play with this sh*t

With iOS 8 there is no Camera Roll or My Photo Stream any more.  The MPS has been replaced with the Recent Activity album.
The CR is replaced by the Collections mode.  The closest we can get to the Camera Roll is to turn off the Summarize Photos feature in the Settings/Photos & Camera pane and view the photos in the Collections/Moments window.
The photos will be in chronological order when scrolled up from the bottom of the window.

  • IOS 8 - pictures not uploading in safari for facebook and other websites?

IOS 8 - pictures not uploading in safari for facebook and other websites? I just upgraded to IOS 8 on my iPad 3 retina display and when I try to upload pictures in safari for facebook, the picture upload just stalls and never completes. This happens in other sites as well. How can I fix this? Is anyone also experiencing this issue???

Hi Hindhaughlee, <br />Thanks for the post.
This may not be the best place to post such a solution but maybe some users will find it. If it turns out to be a major problem with a simple solution maybe we will manage to document it somewhere.
Are you able to provide more details please:
    * exactly what software and software versions is the problem with ? <br /> You appear to be a Windows 8 user, but presumably the Kaspersky software may be applicable to other Windows versions, which Kaspersky software is this tested with ?
    * What is he exact error message or warning that Kaspersky generates in this situation ?
    * is the problem documented elsewhere, preferably in a public open site, if so maybe you could provide a link
    * can you detail simple but exact detailed Steps To Reproduce that will enable others to test out this problem and solution.
    Cheers

Anyone with this problem finding that the solution works may wish to vote for this thread and solution. Or if someone else can produce links to examples of this or you are able to give precise Steps To Reproduce please add a post of your own.

  • Problem with iOS 7 - picture/video iMessages bug?

I've been trying to send this in as feedback but it hasn't been going through. So I'll post it here. Maybe someone has an answer, or maybe it's a bug that Apple needs to look at.
I think these are bugs. First of all, I love that we can now send up to 20 items that include both video and pictures.
    1) When sending images or videos via iMessage, it doesn't always work. It may work after I quit the photos and messages app a few times and then try to send, but if I send some and try to send some more right after (straight from the photos app), they don't go through. I get the message window open and I choose the recipient and I hit send, but nothing happens after that. The only way I've been able to get around it is to select the items and copy and paste them directly into the messages app. Please fix this, it would make things much more efficient.
    2) when there are multimedia messages, the messages app does not archive them in the conversation. Meaning, when you scroll up in a conversation, it continues to scroll up and the app loads every single message at once rather than giving you the option to pull down to load more. I've noticed that is still there when the messages are all text. But when there are pictures/videos involved, they don't get archived and this severely impacts loading time when opening up the messages. Sometimes they won't open at all and freeze because of all the memory it requires just to load everything. It happens on my end as well as with the person on the other end of the conversation - both of us are on iOS 7. I'm on an iPhone 4S and they have an iPhone 5. This has been happening since the upgrade to iOS 7.
These are pretty big bugs and should be addressed ASAP. Thanks.

I have had numerous problems with sending media in messages either from messages or from photos app as well.
In general it seems this new os version was kind of rushed and is still very buggy throughout.  the 7.1 update should rectify the most common issues (i hope), but definitely try the feedback page again.

  • IOS 7 Picture not filling screen in Camera Roll

I recently updated to the iOS 7 on my iPhone 5. I went to check out the camera roll to view my photos, and I noticed when I have a photo up, there's two black horizontal bars, one at the top and one at the bottom of my photo. Previously on iOS6, the picture would fill up the whole screen instead of having this small picture like I do now.
Anyone know the best way to go about fixing this?

I'd like to know this too.
"Select All" and "Select Multiple" were invented in the 1980s.
It's hard to believe that, in the 21st century, we're tapping individual items one at a time, or connecting to additional devices in order to delete multiple items.
    It's a massive usability kludge.

  • Ios 7 picture attachment  bugging in email and message

    Hi ,
    Since the update
    i notice the following
i cant attached pictures into an email or onto a text message
I tried selecting a picture from text message and from an email by clicking insert , it doesn't work
I tried by the camera rolls to select them and add them to an email, it doesnt work either
    Iphone 4S ios 7

The only solution I've seen that seems to consistently work is the one posted by Brackers28 here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/23020591#23020591.  This only works if you still have access to your old email account.  If you don't, you'll have to have Apple help you reset the password for your old account so you can turn off Find My iPhone.

  • Why is it that with iOS 7, pictures do not fit the screen?

When I try to set pictures as the background on my iPhone 5, they do not scale to the screen. Although a little problem that I have tried to ignore, it's become very annoying. It only started doing this after I updated to iOS 7 and had carried on through the updates. Help!!

    Hi bkraeutle14,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If pictures you set as wallpaper are not scaling correctly, for example they appear too "zoomed in," you can reduce screen motion to minimize this behavior:
iOS 7: How to reduce screen motion
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5595
iOS 7 uses a parallax effect to create the perception of depth on your Home screen and elsewhere.
To reduce the effect, you can turn on Reduce Motion in Settings > General > Accessibility. When you turn on Reduce Motion, Home screen transitions will fade instead of zoom.
When the parallax effect is on, you may notice the following:
Wallpaper, icons, and alerts shift slightly as you move your phone.
When you set a wallpaper in Settings > Wallpapers & Brightness, the photo or image will be slightly zoomed and can't be scaled to fit the screen.
If you zoom in, you will need to rescale your wallpaper to fit to the screen. You can't rescale certain photo formats, including landscape or square images.
To learn more about iOS 7, refer to the user manual.
    All the best,
    Jeremy

  • IOS 8 Pictures arranged by date instead of number

everytime i swipe i now see a date on the top not a number like i used to.,

  • Why are my pictures not saving on new ipad running iOS7

Latest iPad running previous or new iOS and pictures are not appearing in camera role or albums.  Some photos on there but definitely not working when using home button and pwr button to take screen shot.
I remember there being problems with flattened jail broken devices but theoretically this cannot be the case as a brand new iPad.
Is this a known problem in the modern day or an iOS7 fault, any input welcome

I had the same problem, after a long discussion with Apple one of their engineers came up with the bright idea of restoring from the original backup via WiFi rather than connecting to iTunes by USB. This should give you a pretty good idea as to whether the photos are there in your backup file, as for instance it said uploading 22 of 863 photos for me, left it overnight to restore from backup via WiFi, restarted the iPhone in the morning and all of my photos had been restored. I have since backed up all photos to a very helpful Dropbox "Camera Uploads" update.
To restore from iCloud via WiFi, on your device:
Open Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings
Wait for the device to restart, input Time and Date Settings and Connect to WiFi.
Log in using your Apple ID and select Restore from iCloud Backup. (Ensure it is the iCloud backup with all relevant photos).
Leave device to Restore overnight and restart in the morning!

  • IPhoto and ios 6 update

The events folders in iphoto disappeared after the ios 6 update on my iPad and iPhone 4S.
All of the photos are lumped together so there is absolutely no way to find the photo you want.
What's the point of having iPhoto if you can't even use it?
Any tips to getting the format previous to the update?

The "iPhoto.app" does not come for free with any iOS device. Your iOS device will, however, come with the free "Photos.app". This app will show you pictures that you took with the camera on your iOS device, pictures you've downloaded from emails or the Web and pictures you've synchronized using iTunes (from Aperture or iPhoto for Mac OS X). The Photos.app will not edit pictures. If you want to edit pictures, you'll need to purchase iPhoto (which is now version 1.1) - or you could purchase a third party app that lets you edit pictures.
It sounds to me like you're having trouble with the "Photos.app" and not the iPhoto.app.

  • Importing iOS 8 edited images AAE files?

With iOS 7, I could crop images using the built-in Photos app on my iPhone or iPad, then when I imported those photos into Lightroom, the original image and its cropping automatically appeared, just as if I had done the cropping on Lightroom. This behavior disappeared with iOS 8. Only the original unedited image from iOS 8 is imported by Lightroom.
Lightroom complains that it is unable to import files with extension .AAE for the files that were edited in the iOS 8 photos app. Some Googling revealed that AAE is the new XML sidecar format used in iOS 8 to non-destructively record edits. I guess that iOS 7 used a different sidecar format that Lightroom understood. I am using OS X Mavericks, no CC and no iCloud.
I tried to import the AAE files to see what they look like, but had no luck doing so. On my Mac with Mavericks, they don't show up in Image Capture, and on a Windows PC I can see the AAE files, but I get errors trying to copy them.
It appears that if I upgrade my Mac to Yosemite, then Image Capture will be able to read the AAE files.
Has anyone looked at these files? Do they contain any adjustments that Lightroom might recognize if their extension is changed to XML?
Can anyone from Adobe comment if there are any plans for a future version of Lightroom (or other Adobe products) to interpret these files?
    Thanks for the help!

.aae are iOS 8 picture's sidecar (just like adobe .xmp) where iphone saves the list of adjustment you made when you edited your picture (jpg manages as a raw with sidecar). Problem is that so far I don't think any desktop editor editor manage this sidecar file yet. It's probably there just to mantain the picture look when you move files from a portable device to another (iphones, ipads...).
So far the only way I found to export the pictures with modifications applied is Airdrop (iphone to Mac). It will render the picture and send a new edited file, but I think it's better to copy also the originals with sidecars since sooner or later we'll have an .aae compatible editor (I hope).

  • IOS 6 Screen is Stuck!

I bought the 4th generation ipod touch from someone today. I plugged it into a wall charger and waited for it to be fully charged after being completely dead. Now I would like to set my itouch up with my computer, but I am STUCK on a grey screen with "iOS 6" in big letters on it. I cannot geto ut of this screen. I have tried re-starting it, I have tried putting it into DFU mode, I have tried waiting and I have tried plugging it into my itunes.. when I plug it into my itunes, i get a message saying that itunes cannot connect to my itouch because my itouch is locked with a pascode and that i must enter the passcode before itunes can connect with it.. but i cant enter the passcode because i have no option to on my screen because the iOS 6 picture is stuck there! (like when you slide to unlock then the passcode grid comes up)
The only thing I can do is turn the screen on by pressing the lock button or home button.
    help...

Try recovery mode as described here.  Note you may have to try to enter recovery mode more than once.

  • Photo effects missing in iMovie project

I have modified photos adding effect and optimizations with iOS standard pictures editing. I can see picture effects also if I open images with iPhoto. when I add pictures to iMovie project all effect are missing, pictures are used in original format.
how I can see picture effects in iMovie?
    thanks,
    Mario

Something similar is happening to me. I created a project a couple of months ago in iMovie '08, and now the "upper window" thumbnails are showing with an exclamation mark - but just the video clips! The photos are still there. You can see the thumbnail with the exclamation mark and when you drag the cursor through it to see it play, it only does in the little damaged thumbnail but not in the screen. After touching it, it becomes black. It does not play at all when the project is played completely. I someone finds out how to solve this, please advise.
    Thanks so much.

  • How to change my background?

I want to change my background and can't find it anywhere. Not the wallpaper, I found that one.
I have been using the iphone since inception but I have never tried to change the background. I was looking at the new ios 4 pictures and thought it would be cool to change it, but I don't know how. I didn't download the update today.

Unless you are using 3GS you won't be able change the background. If you have a 3GS you can go to "Settings >> Wallpaper" and change your background and lock-screen images.

  • Yosemite Can't Auto Delete In Image Capture

I have always used Image Capture instead of something like iPhoto or Aperture to transfer my iOS device pictures to my Mac. Since Yosemite, something has changed. There    used to be a "Delete after importing" button in Image Capture, but now there is no such button:
Everything is the same otherwise. The button is also listed in Help, but it doesn't exist in the app:
Is anyone else having this issue? I am using an iPad Air and a Mac Pro.

I noticed this immediately after "upgrading" to Yosemite and it's very annoying. I have a 16GB iPhone and capture many photos/videos of my kids then download them to my MacBook every week or two. The removal of the delete button in Image Capture makes copying photos/videos off the iPhone a clunky process where I have to download them and then go to the phone and manually delete everything I just copied (then go empty the new 30 day deleted items folder to actually free up that space). In theory the iCloud shared photos will be an alternate to this but that's in beta right now and is not an instantaneous way to download a video recently captured directly to the computer. I realize Apple just wants me to buy a larger storage capacity phone but it's really annoying to lose features that were quick and simple and replace them with clunky multi step processes.
