IOS 8 Settings Quits/Crashes
This has been driving me mad: the Settings app is constantly crashing since I upgraded to iOS 8. It happens particularly when I've opened it, gone to another app (thus sending Settings to the background) and come back to it--as soon as it opens the second time it quits. I restored the phone and it didn't help, nor did the update for 8.0.1 today. Anyone else have this issue and have a fix?

Although Settings is an built-in iOS app, the following Knowledge Base article offers up some great steps for troubleshooting apps not functioning as expected.
With the "Restart" step, make sure you go through and close all applications that are running. If after performing the "Restart" step, you find the issue persists, try the reset portion of the instructions:

Everytime I add a keyboard shortcut, the settings app crashes.
So I go to the keyboard shortcuts section on the settings app. Then I hit the "add shorcut" button and I enter the shortcut, etc. When I finish entering everything in, I touch "save", and as soon as I do that, the app crashes to the home screen. It does actually save the shortcut, but it is a huge pain to have to navigate my way back to the shortcuts feature each time, especially because I have a lot of shortcuts that I need to enter. I have an iPhone 5 and the latest iOS. Can anyone help with this?
I have a similar issue, when I go to open the shortcuts, the Settings App crashes so I can't even get in to add more.

I found the reason why our iPads are slow after iOS 5!!!!!!!
What you need to do is this:
1) launch settings, go to mail contacts and calendars, go to fetch new data, advanced, and set iCloud to fetch.
2) go back and set an interval of when to fetch. Mine is set for thirty minutes.
3) make sure on top push is still on, that means that all your emails will still be pushed, but all the iCloud sync (contacts, calendars, reminders, bookmarks) will happen at the interval you choose.
Restart the device. Your performance should be 10x faster! No more keyboard lag, nothing! Doing this puts less stress on the A4 chip, which we know we need every bit we can get with it now!!!
Optional:
1) in the settings, go to safari.
2) clear all history and cookies/data
3) enable private browsing. One of the biggest reasons why devices are slow is because it keeps all the history and cookies in the RAM. You need more RAM to make things faster. By turning on private browsing, it never records it! -

The video plays for about 6 secs, then crashes and sends me back to iOS apps homepage. Then i try it again, go to start the same video, The screen goes black with just X in top right. I have to force quit the app. grrr. I try again. Then after a third time, i get lucky and the video starts playing. i never get any fault codes. Sometimes if the black screen with X top right happen twice, i try it all again and the app sky go homepage upon re start up is magnified 300% and placed into the top right, leaving only a quarter crop of the whole app interface available to view. This is just mental only viewing a quarter of the interface and video to view! Also on the app 'catchup' page with the scroll down categories underneath the main feature carousel - only scrolls half way from 'ITV ...to...Dave. you cannot view what is below that all the way to nick Jr. Only by flicking the above feature carousel righstt and then back left, can you then access the entire catch up category list. - How often does it occur?the crash symptoms occur Every time. I launch and sometimes it takes several attempts to get Sky Go working. - Which device are you using?iPhone 5S - Which OS is your device on?iOS 8.3 - Is the issue recoverable ? Settings app crashes when I try to manage music
I have a 64GB iPhone 6+, and I am currently running iOS 8.2. Although I have been utilizing iTunes Match, I temporarily disabled this feature thinking it was contributing to the following problem: I want to delete some specific music that apparently is stored on my iPhone because it is still on my phone even after I have "hidden" these particular songs within my iCloud account. When I go to: Settings>General>Usage>Manage Storage I select "Music" and my iPhone will delay for several seconds - almost like it is trying to populate all of the stored music - then the settings app crashes.
As I mentioned above, iTunes Match, on my phone has been disabled, thinking that this may be causing the problem. I signed out of my home sharing on my phone, as well, however, neither of these procedures has worked. This same issue has been occurring prior to the release of iOS 8.2 because I searched the forum for solutions to this issue.Mine is doing the same thing! UGH!

iOS 6 keeps crashing whenever I open an app! what can I do? Can I downgrade?
Downgrading the iOS is not supported by Apple.
If you are haoving problems will all apps:
- Reset the iPod, nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Purchase/install any new app
- The remaining items of:
iOS: Troubleshooting applications purchased from the App Store
- Last, restore the iPod
Otherwise:
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost

My computer backed up my iPhone before I updated my IOS, now itunes crashes everytime I restore! How can I get my contact information back?

I tried resetting to factory and that worked for a couple of hour then I ended up with iTunes crashing again. So I logged out and logged back in and so far so good. This has kept me working for 3 days now so I won't guarantee a fix but it seems to have worked.
Go to Settings->iTunes & App Store click on your login email and select logout. I closed all of my open apps at this time and restarted my phone which was probably an overabundance of caution, but I wanted to ensure any temporary files were gone. Log back in and hopefully all will work for you.

I'm experiencing a not-quite-crash every time I attempt to open firefox on my new computer. What happens is that the menu bar (which I prefer to have visible instead of that orange single-button menu) has all the letters on it turn gray, and I lose my ability to click anywhere on the page, including to close it. If I attempt to close the page via the taskbar it doesn't let me. It does, however, let me open new windows via the taskbar which don't have the same problem, which allows for an easy-but-inconvenient fix. I've tried it out and it does not have the same problem in Safe Mode. As a result of not being a "true" crash I can't give a crash ID, so you won't be able to trace it that way, sorry.
''Problem:'' For whatever reason, NoScript is stopping Runescape Community Toolbar from working properly which freezes your first Firefox window.
''Fix:'' Uninstall the toolbar. Disable NoScript. Install the toolbar. Add your RS account to it and make sure it works, then Enable NoScript again.

FCPX quits/crashes at the same time every time
Hi
FCPX quits on me every time I open a certain project.
I open the project and FCP never finishes rendering (stops at 50%).
OR
I hover over the media files in the timeline and FCP quits/crashes.
I have tried to move the referenced files and events to other locations but no succes. I have repaired the disk, no help.

Tried everything. Reset my iPod touch to fresh version of iOS 6 and still issues. I believe that there is a bug.
APPLE: please FIX ALL THE BUGS IN IOS 6!!!!!! Please do it fast!!!I am having the same problem, but I think I might know what's causing it. I just updated my girlfriend's iPhone 4S (same phone as mine) to iOS 6 and was surprised to find that her app store is working just fine. When I opened hers, however, I did notice that the "Categories" and "Top 25" buttons are totally different; and those happen to be the two buttons that are not working for me. Mine shows the same that yours does, while hers has the "Genius" and "Charts" buttons in the place of the two that are not functioning for me. I believe these old buttons are no longer active and therefor are bombing out when attempting to access them.
Now I said I think I may understand the problem, but unfortunately I have no idea what the solution may be. Hopefully this tread doesn't fade away and our problem gets addressed. -
Aperture Import Settings Panels crashes.
The Aperture Import Settings panel crashes and it show you only info from the moment
you choose a location on a server called "Pictures" (same Name as the "Pictures" folder in the user folder in my case). The choose options stays on "choose" and if you click "Import Selected" you loose from now on all the option on the import on the next start of the app and even after reboot you will never have any options on the import panel. If i choose any other folder not named "Pictures" all works fine.

Well most of the school made tutorials that i've seen over years, didn't really have too much code, so it may not take much at all to get it working - it might even work straight away.
There's always some work required - but the pay off will be worth the effort.
Problems to look out for :-
can't use 3rd party xtras,
can't use embedded fonts,
can't have easy keyboard entry (you'll need to redesign everything for touch),
scroll text fields need a bit of reworking,
11khz sounds files need to be set higher,
some 8 bit graphics bomb out,
there are some lingo commands that just seem to bomb out the app (work around these with other lingo commands!)
embedded Flash objects need a little bit of work to get them working right,
videos need to be in swf format.
If you're only running them on (in school) iPads - i'd say go with the side loading option.
best not to bother with the app store - if you can.
There are a few other enterprise options that might also suit. -

How do I get help reinstalling my Adobe creative suite 6 after IMAC IOS 10.8 crashed? Apple had to reinstall operating system and all programs & data were lost. Adobe System say serial number valid, but qualifying product can not be found on this computer.
When you're installing Adobe upgrades, there are two ways of doing it:
Have an existing, qualifying version already installed. Install the upgrade and enter your upgrade serial number. The installer will detect the earlier qualifying version already installed and the upgrade will finish installing. That is not your scenario.
The second option (and easiest on new computers with no Adobe software previously installed) is to simply install the latest version (usually an upgrade) and enter your upgrade serial number. That's what you've done so far.
The installer will look for an earlier version already installed on your computer. If it cannot find one, it will prompt you to enter the serial number from an earlier version. Once you enter the earlier qualifying version serial number, the upgrade installer will complete the installation. If you cannot find an earlier version serial number then the upgrade will not be licensed and will go into trial mode. From there you can use it for 30 days until it will no longer launch.

Can't make or receive calls when 3G is turned on
