IOS 8 unable to close safari page

I am unable to close my safari page ,by Hand Gesturing.I have to close only ,by pressing Home button only.
ANy adjustment to be made in settings.
Device:-I padmini with Retina display.Recently Upgraded Software to i.o.s.8.0.0

Inside Safari, just click on the lower right icon menu (two squares), it will pull your page back, then click the X arrow at the upper left of the page.

This has happend 3 times now within the last week or so. Everytime it has happend, I was on "Myspace" and had other pages open. The red close button and the Home button are faded when this occours. Welcome to Discusssions - have you tried to Force quit Safari? Either go to the blue apple in the menu bar and scroll down till you reach force quit and select Safari, or go to the Safari icon in the dock, click on it and select force quit.
Once you have done that, you might want to empty the Safari caches and delete the history. You should also go to User>Library>Preferences>com.apple.Safari.plist and drag it to the trash.

Doing research and opened a page that required my name and password. No idea what's going on and unable to close page even after force quitting Safari and restarting computer.

I am unable to close any windows in Safari.
I am able to expand and minimize them.
I had been unable to open Safari which I resolved by removing the Safari preferences file and have tried repeating this as well as resetting Safari and running general maintenance proceedures such as permissions, scripts, etc. with no success.
Is it possible to reinstall just Safari ( mine is version 2.03) or can this only be done through a system update?

After attempting various fixes and several unsuccessful attempts at using the 10.4.7 combo updater I was finally able to update to 10.4.7 from my Tech Tool eDrive.
Somewhere along this process, I think after the System update, my window problem was resolved.

Unable to close home page tab or unable to close firefox by closing home page tab (when if that is the only last tab remaining in the browser

Recently I noticed that I could not close my browser by closing the last tab, which is nothing but home page tab. also noticed that when I open my browser and after opening many other tab if I want to close home page tab I could not close. If I closed it then I cant navigate or surf from that tab.
This may be due to some add-on causing trouble.
The problem does not arise in safe mode. Also if I group tab after closing, it is counted as tab but I cant open that particular tab.

Unable to close Safari without ForceQuit

Whenever I am through with Safari it won't let me close the application without using ForceQuit. It simply will not close when I press Command Q or click on the red x. All it does is make a little beep. I tried to report a bug to apple at this time and it did not allow me to send my comments in either. It also disables the NewWindow NewTab options. Does anyone know why this is happening or how to fix it?

First of all, welcome to the Apple discussions.
Quit Safari (force quit)
Go to HD>User>Home>Library>Preferences folder an drag the com.apple.Safari.plist to the desk top.
Now, relaunch Safari >try again to QUIT SAFARI again. When the problem is gone than you have to set up a view Preferences again.

There are three ways to delete a tab in Safari in iOS 8. Do any of them work?
Browse the web - iPad User Guide
Browse open tabs. Tap , or pinch with three fingers to view all your open tabs. If you have several open tabs, tabs for the same site are stacked. To close a tab, tap in the upper-left corner, or swipe the tab to the left. To return to a single tab, tap a tab, tap Done, or spread three fingers.
Close a tab. Tap on the tab.

Unable to view safari and music longway after software update

Hi after i updated my ipod touch 4th gen, it became unable to view safari pages and music long ways. I am also unable to view videos the short way. Motion gesture however is still working fine on games.

How can you close all pages in safari?

On my iPad it is possible to close all windows in Safari.
Is there a similar feature in Safari? Every time I clear the history, the last page remains open.
How can I close that window as well without having to first create a new blank one?

on the iPad i can close all pages and safari for iOS defaults to favorites.

Tap the minimize icon (two boxes) in the upper right corner of the Safari page. Then tap the tiny x in the thumbnail to close. You can also swipe the thumbnail to the left to close.

Just a question. usually when we click the close button on safari pages. Its actually will automatically pop up a message to user to ensure that is that user really want to close the page. May I know how can I enable this feature back. I loves this feature so much.

Everytime I open Safari on my MacBook Pro a pop-up window from my Finder menu, with the Applications highlighted on the left in the favorites column with the Resources folder highlighted comes up and locks my Safari page until I manually close the Resources window then I have to refresh the internet search address line at the top of Safari. Can someone tell me how to stop this. It started after a software upgrade. It didn’t do that before. Thank you.

A few thoughts for diagnosis/testing purposes:
Have you recently run the disk utility and repaired HD and permissions? If not do so.
Boot into the Safe mode - hold down shift key on boot - and see if the problems are still there. Some functions won't work but see if anything odd happens.
Check your startup items. Get rid of them temporarily.
Create a new user account and see if the problems occur with the new account.
Lastly, be sure your backup is up-to-date.

By default, www.apple.com is the page that Safari loads when starting. You can change that by clicking on "Safari" in the menu bar, then "Preferences", the "General" tab, then playing with the options and entry under "Safari opens with:" and "Homepage:"

Hold down Option Command Escape at the same time, In the window that Appears choose Force Quit Safari...
Or you can click on the Apple Icon (top left) > Force Quit > Safari
