IOS 8 WiFi Issue

After upgrading my iPhone 5s to iOS 8 I am unable to keep a connection to my home WiFi.  I have a Cisco Aironet 1200 access point which only has a radio for 2.4GHz.  I will get connected but as soon as I try and use it I get disconnected from WiFi.  None of my other devices running iOS 7 are having any WiFi issues.   In case this helps I logged into my AP and looked at the logs and saw this during one of these connection issues:
Deauthenticating Station {MAC ADDRESS} Reason: Previous authentication no longer valid
Packet to client {MAC ADDRESS} reached max retries, removing the client
Interface Dot11Radio0, Station {MAC ADDRESS} Associated KEY_MGMT[WPAv2 PSK]
Interface Dot11Radio0, Deauthenticating Station {MAC ADDRESS} Reason: Previous authentication no longer valid
Packet to client {MAC ADDRESS} reached max retries, removing the client
Interface Dot11Radio0, Station {MAC ADDRESS} Associated KEY_MGMT[WPAv2 PSK]
Interface Dot11Radio0, Deauthenticating Station {MAC ADDRESS} Reason: Sending station has left the BSS

With all the post about Wifi issue, could it be hardware and not software.  Anyone know how to diagnosis the difference.

  • IOS 8 WIFI ISSUES  5ghz airplay related! the real workaround here

Ever since upgrading to IOS 8, including IOS 8.01, 8.02 and 8.1 I had the wellknown Wifi issue. wifi speeds dropping from 120mbps to about 2mbps @ 5ghz in within a minute after connecting to the wifinetwork. often i couldn't even surf at all. but the wifi signal was always strong. With every update i was hoping for a solution from Apple but it never came. Tried everything that can be found on the internet. Resetting the network settings. Disabling "wifi networking" under Settings > Privacy > Location Services > System Services. Reinstalling my Ipad from scratch Used different routers and different setups. Automatic ip's and fixed ip's and different dns servers just to be sure. Nothing worked. The only workaround is switching to a 2.4Ghz network. So i was doing some tests and found THE solution, but i don't like it all. One of the biggest changes in IOS 8 is the ability to use airplay without a network. by using a wifi connection in combination with bluetooth. And here lies the problem. I disconnected al my Airplaydevices from my network. Denon AV-amplifier AVR2113, Pioneer wireless speaker XW SMA3 and an airport express. Et voila... My Ipad is back to normal. fast... no very fast internet connection and stable as ****. Just like iOS 7 was. Working with it for a couple of hours now without any trouble at all. But do i connect one Airplay device to the network the wifi is not stable anymore and extremely slow again on my ipad air. My Macbook running mac os x mavericks doesn't have these issues, neither does my iphone 5S. and they are also on the same 5ghz network. So I can create and recreate the issue and create a work around... Apple please come with a solution that makes me able to use airplay an ipad (on ios8) on a 5ghz network! like in iOS 7!!!!

I'm just going to throw something different into the mix.  Could it just be that different Wi-Fi networks may use different ISPs and each ISP will have it's own configuration settings?
For example, if you have an iPhone on Cellular Network 1 and send an email, it'll use the SMTP server for that network. If you're using your home Wi-Fi you'll have the SMTP server for your ISP in your iPhone's settings, and that's what your iPhone will use when sending an email from home. But if you're accessing a different Wi-Fi network somewhere and it's using a different ISP, then it'll have a different SMTP server. So, sending an email for example won't work unless you turn off Wi-Fi and force your iPhone to use your Cellular Network instead (because it'll have the SMTP server for that network).
Now, the example above is specific to email, but I'm just trying to think outside the square a little compared to the other responses here.
Hope this helps you progress to a solution.
    Joe.

  • Ios 7 wifi issues with iphone 5 and iphone 4s

I downloaded and installed ios 7 on 3 iphones and an ipad on Thursday. initially after install all devices wouldn't connect to my homes wifi (but other devices in the home are connected and can access the internet with no issue)  I rebooted each device and was able to connect problem soved. WRONG  this has been an on going issue, most of the time my devices wont even see my wifi network and when they do, I still can't connect.  I have reset wifi settings, I have double checked passwords, I have rebooted the IOS devices and rebooted the router (which was likely not needed as my 2 apple tv's, windows 7 laptop, windows 8 laptop and 2 imacs all are connected with no problem as wel as my ps3, and sony smart tv.
So, 1) is anyone else experiencing this issue 2) have you found a way to resolve the issue 3) has anyone gotten a response from apple support i.e. is this s known issue and are they working on an update to resolve.
I guess my gut instinct to wait a few weeks to install ios was right and I should have listened to my gut
Thanks, any help would be appreciated.

I agree, Bluetooth is rubbish since 4.2 The phone won't connect properly with my carkit Parrot ck3000 evolution, when the iPhone 4 connects to the the carkit it resets the volume on the carkit to minimum volume. so every time you get in the car you have to manually set the volume!. fix this Apple and when your at it fix the wifi reception on it too its woeful! For all the mouthing Apple does on their features on the phone, it's pretty weak as a phone!

  • Another solution that worked for the iOS 6 WiFi issue...

After the iOS 6 install my wifi connect just wouldn't connect anymore. I tried everything in the book. I was even changing settings on my router at one point. Nothing worked. It would connect for a second, drop off and then try to bring up a login screen from Apple.com with the message "Page cannot be found."
This is weird but it solved my problem both on my iPhone 4S and my iPad 3:
    Settings>Safari>Clear History
    Settings>Safari>Clear Cookies and Data
Hold down the Sleep button until it brings up the Power Off slider. Power off and then turn on again.
Reconnect to wifi network using Settings>Wi-Fi
Now everything is hunky dory. Super weird!

Thanks for the suggestion. I followed them to the letter. I have a time capsule and a base station. I switched the time capsule as you suggested. I got rid of the previous connection on the ipad and connected. At first when it started I had full bars. I walked to the opposite side of the house (2000 sq. ft house) was going strong and it dropped to one bar. If I turn the ipad off for awhile full strength comes back. Unfortunately, in my experience no joy.

  • Solution found for ios 6 wifi issues

    solution
    ======
I had the same problem as you(and others). some people are having a dropped wifi problem whereby it lets you connect to your home network(or other)and a second or so later it drops the signal and loads up a page at apple.com that no longer exists.
the other problem people here are having seems to be for some reason the turn on wifi button is greyed out and can not be turned on. this would seem to be an installation error or something similar. i suggest checking the error logs by going into following menu on your phone
    settings > general > about > diagnostics & usage > diagnostic & usage data
then check the error logs there and it might give a clue as to why it happened. i suggest then doing a full restore to factory settings including erasing all content. once restored, downloading all purchased apps again from app store.
also it could be guided access within accessibility settings. that allows you to grey out certain buttons in apps etc. it is possible but not likely, though it is worth checking out.
as to the first problem what i did was to go into wifi settings and click the blue arrow next to the name of my home network. then enable auto login. then i go out of that and turn off wifi, then turn it back on. then press home button, then open multi tasking bar(double press home button), then hold down settings icon till it jiggles and then press red x. that way it gets rid of it from the phones memory before it has chance to maybe load that web page up again.
this has to be done immediately. this worked for me, hope it does for you.
any of my ideas you try out you do so at your own risk and i can not and will not be held liable or responsible should anything go wrong as a result.

If you are having the issue where it takes you to a login page, goto Settings > WiFi and tap on the blue button to the right of your network name. There'll probably be an option to auto-join and you'll want to toggle that. If it's off, turn it on then back off. If it's on, toggle it off. If prompted to login again, just hit Cancel in the upper-right. Now goto Safari app and you should be prompted to connect to your network at which time it should work. It did for me at least and a friend of mine.

  • IOS 6 wifi issue workaround ;)

Guys I've had the same issues but managed to get it back working so joined up to here just to let you know
    Go to settings
    Turn on flight mode
    Turn on wifi
Select home network ( you will find it now saves with no issues)
No turn off flight mode and you are back up and running
Post below if it worked for you too

I have also tried the stuff in the above list and I cannot get my ipad to connect. this totally blows.
    - hard reboot
    - turning phone off/on
    - restoring to factory and then restoring from backup
    - changing HTTP to auto
    - airplane mode
    - resetting network settings via Setting>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - manually typing in the network name
    - turning wifi off/on
none of the above work for me.

  • Found fix for iOS 6 wifi issues

go to settings-safari-turn off "use cellular data"-connect to wifi-go back and turn it on again.

There'll probably be an option to auto-join and you'll want to toggle that. If it's off, turn it on then back off. If it's on, toggle it off. • IPod Touch iOS 5 Wifi Issues

I have a 3rd generation iPod Touch that I just upgraded to iOS 5.0.1 2 days ago.
My iPod has been working fine on my home wifi network since I originally hooked it up and since the upgrade I have nothing but trouble.
I spoke with apple yesterday and they told me that theres nothing they can do about it.
I understand I can't roll back to iOS 4 but has anyone tried to troubleshoot this?
Here is what I have done with no success:
    1. Unplugging my airport extreme and modem... let them sit a bit and then plug back in. (Fail)
    2. Forget the network on my iPod and try to reconnect (Fail)
    3. Reset my iPod (Fail)
    4. Hard reboot of the iPod (Fail)
    5. reset Network settings
Now I have intermittent connectivity using the wifi on my iPod and it takes forever to bring up a webpage or I receive the error message of Unable to join network even though my wifi signal indicator is at full strength.
Any other suggestions or tips out there?
    Jake

If its anything  like mine you have to briefly turn on SSID broadcasting  let the ipod connect once and its ok  after that and you can turn off broadcasting the SSID .  It has always done this even before IOS 5 .  It's fine after this unless you have to reset your ipod etc ..  then you will have to repeat the above procedure.  Yes you should not have to do this but Apple is less than impressive in their software implementation in these devices..

  • IOS 6 wifi issue

Why is it that my phone will not maintain a wifi connection? When I go into settings to connect to my wifi it connects momentarily then goes to an apple log in page. I have an iPhone 4S. Anyone else have this problem or have a solution?

    same here bro..
My iPad 3rd generation cannot connect ot WiFi as well.
    iOS6 *****!!!!

  • SOLVED - iOS 6 WiFi issue. Re-enter iCloud password.

    Delete iCloud, recreate, enter password.
    Solved

    Same problem here.
Ive also also noticed it effects iMessages.
They won't be received by the watch and outgoing messages only send as sms texts when initiated on the watch.
i tried turning off/on iMessage on the phone, it worked for a few min, then the watch unexpectedly lost my iMessage conversations again.
Whats weird is that I'll still receive the notification about receiving an iMessage, and can even preview it on the screen. But there's no reply option and loading the message app on the watch loads an empty chat log.

  • WiFi issues with iPhone 4S & ios 6 update

    Okay here is my issue...
I've been reading alot of issues that people have with connecting to WiFi with their new iPhone 5, iPhone 4S or other devices but I have no trouble connecting to WiFi at all. My problem is that WiFi wont 'work'. The WiFi I'm hooked up to at home doesn't let me do basically anything that requires internet.
I can get on the Facebook app fine and my newsfeed loads but I can't see Facebook notifications, upload photos or videos, read inboxes, look at photos, its very slow etc.
I can't get into the App Store or iTunes at all. It says it 'Cannot Connect to iTunes Store' when I try.
I can't upload photos onto Instagram
Currently I'm into the Simpsons Tapped Out game and I can't go onto it at all.
And there are a few other minor issues I am having.
All these things I can do with my Telstra 3G network however and it ***** because I want to use and do all these things but I have to use my 3G and I've just recently gone over my data monthly usage and been charged extra which I'm not happy about.
So is anyone else having these issues or is it just me and I'm stuffed? I'd REALLY love some help.
I've been lost with what to do because as some are having WiFi issues as well, mine isnt the same and it's hard to find answers or just other discussions.
    Please Help!
    Thankyou.

I am having the same issue since updating to iOS 6.  It has been noticeable on my iPhone 4S and a little less noticeable on my iPad 3 but I think it is happening on the iPad too.  Very annoying problem.  One way to get it to work better is to re-boot your phone.  It will work for awhile then and then eventually not be working anymore and you will need to re-boot again.
Just to be clear with everyone - the iPhone looks like it is connected to the wireless, it gets an IP address but can't transmit any data.  Device:  iPhone 4S, OS:  iOS6

  • Iphone 4s wifi issues ios 6.1.2.!!!

Anybody with a solution to ios 6.1.2 wifi issues ? or should wait for ios 6.1.3..!
When is 6.1.3 coming ? any idea?
My wifi is not working at all... not able to connect any network. Apple is just ignoring this .....

For the backup problem, take a look at this doc -> iOS: Troubleshooting backup issues in iTunes
for the Wi-Fi problem, try Resetting Network Settings from Settings > General > Reset. And, see this for other ideas -> iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections

  • Ios 6.1.2 wifi issues

I am using iphone 4s for about 14 months now. i have never faced wifi issues before updating to ios 6.1.2. But now  i am not  staying connected to wifi for long time. I dont know whether i m alone in this world to face such an issue. Please help fix this issue to the earliest.
It's very disappointing to know that apple is ignoring such issues from its customers & even rolling back to back new software versions without even checking it to the fullest. And on top of that the apple customer care people are saying its a hardware problem. I think they are ignoring the fact of software issues with ios 6.1.2. especially with WIFI.
Please reply if anybody face such issues.and possible solution for it.

I've been having the same wifi dropouts on ios 6.1.2. I never have had this issue before, and it is very frustrating. It makes me wish I had never upgraded. I am not having this issue with my other wifi devices (PCs, Macs, Android phones, Roku, Wii, Apple TV), so I know it is not a router issue. Is Apple working on a fix?
One hard lesson that I learned is that I will never rush into any future ios updates again. I have tried all of the fixes that I could find online to no avail :-(
Oh, excuse me. I was just prompted again to rejoin my dropped wifi connection.
