IOS 8 won't install, it locked up

I downloaded ios 8 and then tried to install it. My IPAD totally locked up while trying to install ios 8 - The IPad is on and plugged into power, showing a white Apple and a bar below that almost completed, but not quite - it will not do anything at all. I had tried to back things up before downloading the new ios but not even sure the backup worked and cannot restore anything if I cannot get my IPad not to be locked up. I'm not sure what to do now. I does not change anything to press any buttons and it will not turn off or back on.
I cannot provide the specs for the IPad since I cannot access the IPad to get them. I'm not even sure what the old operating system was (maybe 6.0.3???)
All I know is that in order to purchase a video editing app, it required me to have ios 8 and when I tried to make that happen, the IPad became locked up and unusable.

Try reset iPad and continue with upgrade.
Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home button down until you see the Apple Logo.

Try a device reset then:
Device Reset (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)
1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.
2. Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
3. Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally.

The other day, I up dated my iPad and iPhone (because I'm a developer) to iOS 5.0 GM (Golden Master). Today, when Apple released the final version via iTunes, I clicked "Check for Update" and it said for both devices they are "Up to Date". So I figured "Lets try a restore". Well, it download the firmware, but when it went to install it, it said that "This device isn't eligible for the requested build". What can I do to fix this? Should I try to downgrade the devices, or will that brick them? Please help!

IOS 8 won't install on my 4S

I have tried twice to install iOS 8 on my iPhone 4S. The installation goes all the way, the phone restarts and iOS 7.1.2 is still there. I go on software update and iOS 8 is available so I download it again completes install and it is not there! 7.1.2 is still there unchanged.
Any ideas. There is about 5G go space so there is space.

Just the same, what I did was to delete some large apps, such as magazines and books and some music, until I had 6G of free space; and after the install was complete I reinstalled them from the App Store and iTunes.

I've tried multiple times. I've disconnected and reconnected. I've restarted. I've turned off the firewalls. Nothing works.

Okay ... that rules out one possible treatment. Sometimes people with the redistributable installed can get past this by applying a security update for it ... but it looks like the same sorts of problems are preventing it from installing.
(2) And last time I checked my History I had several failures I believe, however now I only see one failed update, that being Update for Windows (KB944036). The error code listed 8000FFFF. Apparently it's an update for Internet Explorer 8.
The other primary strategy we (I?) have for dealing with these is to attempt to treat any underlying issues on the PC that prevent Windows Updates from installing. Although I have a sneaking suspicion that your 8000FFFF is related to your IE being uninstalled, I think we'd probably better try following up on the following document:

I can't do that because the device was purchased from United Arab Emirates and I got it as a gift in Syria but the problem is that there is not even a single apple store in Syria so is there another way to fix that, I googled it and was told to jailbreak the device whitch I did and than hacktivated it but the problem is the device doesn't connect to any network and only shows "no service" and the battery draining too fast so is there any other way to fix this issue

Latest Revel IOS update crashes and won't install

I have been using Revel v 2.3.1-548 on iPhone 5 and iPad 3 without any issues. An update was released today (29 June) and this won't install and crashes the app on both devices so I have had to go back to the old version. Anyone else having this problem?

IOS 6 on iPhone 4 won't install

Keeps saying the connection timed out and to check my connections but everything is working just fine. I was able to donwload the itunes update just fine so I know its nothing to do with my connections. I get an error msg when I try to do it OTA. Says it encountered and error and to check my settings. What upgrade are you trying to install? Your profile shows iOS 5.1.1, which is the current max iOS.

Have an Envy M6-K010DX notebook. Due to an internet problem while upgrading from Win 8 to 8.1, the PC doesn't properly boot and Windows Explorer won't load. Decided to 'Refresh' the OS and went to the F11 restore utilities. When I go to the refresh utility and follow the prompts I reach a message that says, "The drive where windows is installed is locked. Unlock the drive and try again." I've searched support for unlocking instructions and aside from some bootrec commands (that didn't work - probably because I don't have a Win 8 disk) not much is available.
The only access I have for running commands is via the Task Manager and F11 command prompt. What is this 'locked' drive, anyway? Does anyone have any information on this?

Its hard to say if it the data is accessable or if the file system is corrupted or not.
Recuva is a free utility to recover files that are missing due to deleting or reformatting.
Not all of the data will be recoverable now but perhaps most of it is.
If Recuva cannot detect anything, I doubt a paid program will do any better.
You can plug the old drive into a sata port on a desktop PC or you can purchase a usb adapter to use on another laptop.
If you go with a USB adapter, get one thats usb 3.O if possible.

P6N Diamond - Vista/XP won't install.

I have Vista Home Premium x64 and I went to install for testing before I registered it. I then see I can install any version of Vista, so I decide to try Vista Ultimate to see how different it is from Home Premium. Anyway, the trial period for Ultimate expired and I can't seem to install Winodws at all now, not even XP. Vista just sits at the device screen and shows no drives at all and I try to load drivers and still nothing. I even tried turning on RAID with no help. I have used the drivers from MSI's website as well as nvidia's and nothing.
When I try XP though, it BSOD and locks up completely just as it goes into the first page of installation after setup has loaded drivers and such. I ran chkdsk /f and reset BIOS and nothing helps. I can still log into my expired Vista install just fine and vista see it there and all is fine in the BIOS as well. I even grabbed another HD with same issues.
I find it very strange Windows boots up on the drive, but won't install to it?
I just looked at MSI's website and 3.1 is still the current BIOS. Did MSI completely dumps this board? It's been almost a full year since the last BIOS was released and nvidia has released several fixes to the BIOS since, so I know there are available patches to install. I sure hope they plan to provide support for this flagship motherboard when it was released, I mean they provided like 3-4 months of support and then dump it?

Skype won't install on iPhone 3GS

Hello, Skype for iPhone won't install on my 3GS -- I am using iOS 6.1.6. I downloaded it a week ago from the App Store and it gave me an option to install an earlier version for my device. I had to restore it today and now it says that Skype isn't compatiable with my device and to upgrade to iOS 7! I'm not forking out €500 for a new iPhone that I don't want. This appears to be a restriction on the Apple AppStore:If you are attempting to download the app for the first time, the App Store will not offer the download of an older version. You must already own the app for the older version to be offered. Workaround:If you do not already own the app, one workaround is to purchase/download the app from the iTunes Store on a Mac or PC using the same Apple ID you are using on your iOS device.
