IOS banner notifications always in the way

I used to have everything working perfectly:
No lock screen notifications
Notification center showed everything I wanted
Never recieved banner notifications upon unlocking my phone.
Then something happened, and I can't change it back.
Now, whenever I unlock my phone, I see EVERY banner notification that was queued while the phone was locked.
If I turn off banner notifications, even when I have the notification center active, I will not see the notifications I'm expecting.
I don't want items in my lock screen, so that's always disabled.
Does anyone know what's going on? Or does anyone else have this problem?

Detailed:
We had a glitch with our Apple TV 3A 3-4 weeks ago and had to factory reset it (we reconfigured it with the exact same configuration than before the crash), it's now running iOS 7.0.2, I can't saw which version it ran before the problem though.
It's used in a business environment with 30+ iPads 2, half of them are updated to 8.1.1 and the other half to 8.1.2. We use the latest iTunes version.
Before the glitch that required a reset, all the iPads were detecting and mirroring when needed to the Apple TV, but now the iPads don't see the Apple TV in their list of Airplay devices anymore (but they detect various other devices inside our network).
I have to add that our Apple TV is able to navigate the movie store correctly, so I assume that it's not an internet restriction issue from our end (also, the APple TV do not see either any of the many iPads on its device-detection screen.
We successfully connected an iPhone 5S and an iPhone 6 through P2P Airplay, so it's not the issue, but when we connected the iPhones to our Wifi network (Same as all the other devices are using) the Apple TV suddenly disappeared from the choices.
Hence the reason why I inquire to the possibility that some changes were made in one of the latest iOS revisions, if so, we would require some details so we can adjust our Wifi configuration accordingly to allow the proper detection of devices.
P.S. I tried the basic troubleshooting of Airplay problems with no avail. Airplay button is displaying on the control panel, Airplay do not show the Apple TV at all (so it's not either the trick to display the Mirroring button), we also already proceeded to the suggested devices reboots, so my issue is quite more complex I believe.

This is a copy of ONEof the keys in the registry I changed as told by Apple support today. I also have changed others as instructed by GEAR software support to manually delete GEAR drivers (that I had installed but couldn't delete some of the others they mentioned from Windows system 32. Then some bright spark at work told me I need the Gear drivers so I downloaded the software and installed again.

alright. reformat, no longer have and fan-controlling software running, SMC reset, software update, etc. New, precise test using System Load to add a load to the cpu, Hardware Monitor for the temperatures, and TFMonitor for fan speeds. Running both CPUs at 99.5%*, the CPU fan sped up to just over 1500 rpm (HDD and ODD fans stayed relatively the same), from its resting 1198, with the temperatures maxing out at:
PSU: 176°F (80°C)
CPU Core 1: 164°F (74°C)
CPU Core 2: 171°F (77°C)

Now, to someone with more experience than I, are these numbers within reasonable operating range? And if the CPU fan can go as high as 3300 rpm, why would it not go any higher than half that? (smcFanControl reported 3300 as the max before I reformatted, but after reformatting I can't seem to get it to work)
It just doesn't make sense to me. ....and I'm not fond of the heat radiating off the monitor...

My popup notification always has the same sender name when receiving Gmail emails, never the actual name?

I have four email addresses feeding into my Thunderbird (on mac) which I have used for years. In recent months, though, whenever I receive an email, the popup notification gives the sender as a person who occasionally emails me, never any other sender name. Is there any way I can stop this happening? It is annoying!! Thanks

I have had the same problem and I think I have a solution, at least one that is working for me.
In mail preferences - accounts - advanced, turn on "Use IDLE command if server supports it"
In mail preference - General, set Check for new messages: Manually.
Don't check for new messages manually, (still doesn't work) but wait for the IDLE command to push new messages to you.
This is for a GoDaddy mail server, using Apple Mail 7.1 on OS X 10.9.1.

My iOs 5 update gets all the way to the end then says there is a network error? How do I fix this?

I plug my iPod touch (4th generation) in to iTunes and then say yes to update to iOs 5. The download begins, takes about half an hour, then a message pops up saying there is a network error and for me to check my network. My internet is working just fine, iTunes just fine, and iPod just fine. I don't know how to fix this. I have tried dowloading iOs 5 about 5 or 6 times and this happens every single time.

Try a manual install, as outlined in the link below.

Floating Pallets Always in the way!!!

I am not used to working with applications with many floating pallets (like many graphics programs). Keynote seems to get cluttered easily with all the floating pallets (inspector, fonts, colors, etc.). I thought Apple was about ease of use?
I hate to say it, but PowerPoint seems much easier to use with pull-down menus and a CUSTOMIZABLE toolbar. And it's not just because I'm used to it (I've been using Keynote for over a year now). There is no "Save" button in the toolbar for [insert your Deity here]'s Sakes!
Can someone lend some helpful tips on keeping this thing under control? It is also difficult when I move my PowerBook from running on a 23" Cinema HD Display to just the built-in display (less room for pallets).

Also, as far as the main window goes, you can use the Zoom menu item in the View menu to set the slide to Fit in Window (this option is also accessible from the unlabeled Zoom dropdown menu on the bottom left of the main window). This way you can shrink down your main window to whatever size you like (down to 55%) while preserving a view of the entire slide. (And if you can't read all the material on your slide at 55% magnification, you've probably got too much on your slide.) Using this feature will help get the slide window out from under the palettes.
Brian's suggestion about the Font palette is also excellent -- it can be shrunk down to just three popups (Font family, Typeface [or weight], and Size). What is especially nice is that if you need the full panel, you can click the Maximize button at the top of the palette's title bar, and the panel will expand to full size. Another click on the same button, and it shrinks back down.
The Colors palette is also automatically invoked each time you double-click on a colour well in the Inspector. So you don't need to leave it up to have ready access to it.
In the end, you could have easy access to all the main functions in Keynote with just the Inspector open and a minimal Font palette.
(To be honest, while I understand the frustration of having multiple palettes, I prefer the Keynote approach, since much more of the functionality seems "discoverable" to me. Powerpoint seems to hide a lot of its capabilities in deeply nested menus and arcane dialog boxes.)

If you have a Windoze PC, try temporarily disabling the antivirus, anti-adware, anti-spyware, and any other anti-whatever that is running and required with that secure OS before beginning the download.

Can I change the calendar view in IOS 7 notification center?

IOS 6 Notification Center showed the calendar info in a LIST view, showing all events for that day (timed and untimed events). IOS 7 only seems to allow a view that looks like an excerpt from the DAY view of the calendar. It takes up more space than the previous version and shows less info, only 1/2 at a time. Does anyone know if there is a way to change that view in Notification Center?

i upgraded my ipod touch to ios 7 for the first time and i loved it at first. but i dont like the texting. the keyboard is all glitchy. it runs slower and is just way to smooth for me. i dont like that. i want ios 6 back. i miss the way i was able to text people. i want the old facebook back. it was much faster. i want ios 6 back. is there any way to downgrade? i dont wanna have to leave apple and move on to android. thats what a lot of people down here are doing because no one likes ios 7. we want ios 6 back.

iPhone desn't allow you to use whatever iOS version you want other than the most current. There is absoluetly no way to downgrade, authorized or non.

Is there a fix for iMessage banner notifications in iOS 8.1 freezing the keyboard, and making the phone non-responsive while receiving messages?
I have a Verizon iPhone 6 - 128gb Space Gray
While I'm receiving banner notifications for iMessage, my phone will lock up until the notification banner clears. If I'm in the middle of typing, the keyboard will lock up and then resume back to normal once the banner goes away. No matter what task I'm doing with the iPhone, it will freeze up until the notification goes away. The touch screen becomes unresponsive. To be clear, the banner notifications are not freezing themselves. They go away on their own. But while they come in, it renders the phone useless for that 3 second time frame.
The only temporary fix I've found for this issue is to turn off iMessage notifications all together, or just turn off banner notifications for iMessage. This has to be a software issue in 8.1 and needs to be resolved ASAP.
I've troubleshooted every known possibility.
* Reset network setting = Didn't work.
* Reset all settings = Didn't work.
* Wipe Phone completely and start as new (did not restore from back up) = Didn't work.
* Restore as new from iTunes (did not restore from back up) = Didn't work.
* Visited apple store and received a replacement = Didn't work.

HT3577 How can I turn off the text editing feature on an iPhone 4 with iOS 6.x - when my Mom taps the phone, it always brings up copy. It does not do this for me so I am assuming it is the way her disability forces her fingers to hit the screen.

My Mom has tremors and when she uses her iPhone and taps to select, the way she hits the keyboard causes the copy selection to appear. It is not an issue with her phone because it does not do this for me. I would like to shut off the double tap feature. I have already tried Settings/General/Accessibility/Home speed typing = slowest.

The editing menu doesn't come up when you double tap. It comes up when you press and hold. It can't be turned off.

I'm syncing my iPhone 4 (iOS5) with Outlook. Birthdays are stored with my contacts and created in the Outlook calendar. Thus they are synced to the iPhone-calendar. But as I sync the contacts as well, my iPhone creates a birthday calender. This one can be hidden in the iOS-Calender-App, but the birthdays show up in the notification center no matter if the calender is hidden or not.
I'd be nice if you could just disable the automatic birthday calender function of iOS and get rid of the double notifications and crowded NC.

Make sure you don't have any notes that have no content or subject or this can prevent syncing with Outlook. If you do, delete them.
If you don't, try unchecking "Mail,Contacts,Calendars & Tasks with Outlook" on the iCloud control panel for Windows, choose Delete at the prompt (the data will still be in iCloud), restart your PC, then go back and check this setting again. (Your iCloud data will reappear in Outlook after a brief delay as it redownloads.)
Then create a new note on one of your iOS devices and see if it appears in the Notes folder in Outlook mail after a few minutes.

I experience this also sometimes (whatsapp), is this a bug??
sometimes when a person writes 2-3 messages in a row (for instance) in whatsapp (im in standby mode), it sometimes only displayes ONE message in lock screen mode (though he/she wrote more than 1), and sometimes shows the right corresponding written messages!
Why is this?
its really annoyoing when you get messages in lock screen mode BUT it doesnt stay and remain so you notice it. That way you get missed messages etc and notices it first...when doing the "pull-down list".
