IOS calendar month in week view

How to I know what month I am in when using week view in calendar? I only see date and day of the week.

Well in Month view, turning to landscape do show week view.
Yes, the month is not shown, but give it a turn (back to portrait) you have the month and day highlighted.

the current day was light blue in ical in 10.6 but with plenty of contrast, but I recently made the bigger leap all the way to calendar in 10.9. the choice of color is terrible for reasons such as Spile1962 puts below, but also not having any way to tweak it is terrible. I'm on a bran d new imac and can barely see a difference and frankly, while I appreciate the subtlety, I still forget to look for the darker bar across the top of the current week and day. we should be able to adjust weekend and current day bg colors.
I went into the app's package contents in hopes that they were using a tiff/png file that I could tweak on my own but couldn't find anything for them. all the icons are there, as are the bg sets for all the little pop-ups and things, but I couldn't even find a reference to a hex color in the plist file.
send apple feedback. I just did myself, except that Calendar hasn't made the list (yet?), only iCal up to version 4.x, and Messages is still only iChat for feedback, and some others are old as well. apparently after steve died, apple's attention to these details just died with him. it's been that long since those other apps should have been relevant on their site.

Calendar stuck in weekly view

The calendar on my iPhone 4 is stuck in weekly view. I can not get it to bring up the menu to switch to monthly.

At the top of the calendar there is supposed to be a set of tabs for view: day, list, month, year. On my phone, it is stuck in a year view with no tabs at the top.
In IOS7 the interface has changed, the year view do not have any tabs on top except Search (lupe icon) and a plus sign ( + ) on the right. If you hold the iPhone in Landscape mode (horizontally) you get a week's view.

Is there a way to turn off showing the time in each Calendar entry in "week" view?

I use the "week" view as my primary calendar. Upon updating to Mavericks, the calendar forces the starting time to be shown with each entry. This forces me to make my entries at least 1.5 hours long to show even two short lines of text. I frequently want to show two or three lines of text, for example when menu planning. Also, I consider this "feature" to be just chart junk--the starting time is already shown by the position on the calendar.

I agree, clearing an entire line to show the event's starting time—when this should be apparent from the event block's position in the calendar—is a critical waste of space.

Calendar: start the Week view with Monday?

When using the native Calendar application on the iPad, is it possible to have the Week view start with Monday rather than Sunday? If yes, how would I set the application to look that way? Thanks for the help.

Yes, my old TREO was super for this. When you change your US calendar to UK, you also change the keyboard, and $ becomes ₤ (If that worked, it should be the British pound sign.) I wrote to Apple numerous times to no avail.
I gave up and downloaded "Week Cal" after some google research for the Monday week calendar. It works.

Ical won't highlight calendar events in week view

When I click on a certain calendar, all the events from that calendar don't become highlighted like they did in Tiger iCal. This is annoying. Anyone else have the same issue?

I'm having the same problem too. I suspect it's a deliberate UI change on Apple's part, so I think everyone needs to lobby them to persuade them to change it back, since it's obviously not as good!

Can you view the month while in the weekly view?

I recently downloaded Lion and am trying to get used to the new look of iCal. I like to look at my calendar on a weekly view. But when I edit an event, I can't see a view of the entire month to pick a new date. Is there some way to get a small full month view while looking at the calendar a week at a time?

Did you hit the Submit button on the last page and get a confirmation message?
The responses are in the "View Responses" tab of the application. Did you sign up for a free account? or did you just test out one of the templates on our website?

Birthdays in calendar weekly view.....

i have a bb 9630 and my question pertains to the calendar application....
if i have 2 birthdays scheduled for the same day for 2 different people....lets say.....one synced thru facebook and the other thru my blackberry contacts and i have the calendar setting on "view all" calendars...when scrolling thru the calendar on a weekly view....the only birthday that shows up is the facebook birthday......the blackberry contact birthday is nowhere to be seen.....now if i go into "view agenda" for that particular day....both birthdays are shown. both do show on a day view and month view when i select that particular day within the month view but not in a weekly calendar view.
is that just the way it is?...or am i able to set it up to have both birthdays shown on a weekly calendar view?

Thanks for your quick reply. I have mailed you a screenshot of the corruption I am talking about. The whole page template is "application default". In the "Calendar Attributes" tab in that region, I have three options in the template combo-box: calendar, calendar alternative 1, and small calendar. None of those options have any effect on the column link display corruption. In the "Region Definition" tab. the user interface template is "reports region". I have tried a number of different templates there and none affect the corruption in the column-link display either. I'm using Theme "Modern Blue 20" and the template utilization screen off Shared Components says my calendar page is using a calendar template.

The calendar - weekly view for the iPhone

Doesn't really have a question but rather a wish for Apple. I'm using my iPhone 4S for everything but find the calendar a but unsatisfying. Please give me the option to see the calendar on a weekly view and not only daily/monthly/list.

Calendar items not appearing in weekly view

I have a number of account on my Z10 including work email. The work email items are not appearing in the weekly view, just on a daily or monthly view.
Any ideas?

Are you able to see these entries under other views within the Calendar? Do the entries display with a lock on them or not at all? Is this account set up on a BlackBerry Enterprise Server with BlackBerry Balance?

Default calendar to weekly view

Hi All,
I have created a Calendar region but is there any way to default the calendar to a weekly view as opposed to a monthly view? I am using Application Express 3.0.

On the page that contains your calendar, there will be an item Px_CALENDAR_TYPE. If you give it the default value of W, it will initially show the Weekly View. I tested quickly and you will also need to play with the conditions on the buttons that change the view - they are written assuming Monthly is the default.
It would be a nice addition for us to add a selection on the Calendar Attributes page (I will go log that as an enhancement request).

In OS 10.3.1 calendar week view doesn't zoom like it used to

Hi,
my favorite view in calendar is the week view. And I had it zoomed rather small, so I had a good overview over my whole week (especially, do I have an appointment in the evening). After the upgrade to 10.3.1, at least the week view refuses to zoom as small as it did, so I can only see the time from 9 to 5 without scrolling.
I know, I couldn't read the appointments any longer (on a Z10), but that was ok for me. I loved the overview with one glance. So why do you remove this possibility? If you don't like it that small, just stop zooming. For me the advantage of the small view outweighs the disadvantage of someone accidentally zooming too far. So please bring it back :-).

How to show day name in week view

In SL, when I viewed a calendar in the 'week' view, the day name showed on the top. Now, only day numbers show, not day name. how can I get the day names to show in the weekly veiw?

Thanks for the question. You simply need to go back to Day/Week view, then tap the list-view icon once more.
