IOS crash

SSafari said iOS 7.0.6 crashed due to bug, gave me a # 1-800-544-9294 to fix.  Charged me $49 and fix the issue, is this a scam or legit?

Your phone is most likely safe, unless it has been jailbroken.

  • I have an error msg:  Warning!! iOS Crash Report

    I just got this error msg.
    Warning!!  iOS Crash Report.   Due to a third party application in your phone, iOS is crashed.  Contact Support for an Immediate Fix.
    There is a 1-800 number noted.  Is this legit or this this a virus?  We have tried shutting down the ipad and re-setting but nothing seems to work.  This error message keeps popping up.  Anyone got any ideas?

    Please tell me that it has NEVER been jailbroke.  If it has never been jailbroke, here are some standard repair procedures:
    First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
    Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
    If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
    At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
    If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again.  Also, read this.

I am working on a audio app where each record is played in FIFO order. Is the crash log is something to do with my app? Here is the snippet of the crash report

    I just had the same "scam" this evening.  I got the Safari message: "http://supportcallnow.com 'warning!! iOS Crash Report' "  Due to a third party application in your phone, iOS crashed.  Contact Support for an immediate fix - 1-800-480-4170.  I too called the phone # to see what was going on.  It went straight on hold when I called (didn't ring) and then when someone came on the line, it was a woman who I could barely hear due to the noise in the background.  She stated that my ios crashed and was no longer something on my iPhone5S and that a 3rd party was at that time taking all my info. off my phone (nice "scare tactic" eh?).  She then said for $80 though she could reinstall ios and just needed my credit card # (yeah, ooooookkkay).  So I said that was ridiculous as I had been using apps and my phone the whole time I was talking to her on speaker and said I would call Apple Support directly.  She told me they would say the same thing about having to pay to have ios reinstalled on my phone.  I said I highly doubt it and told her I wouldn't pay the money and that she was essentially full of crap.  She then said (prob after realizing I wasn't buying any of it) "OK ma'am" and hung up on me.
    Adamfrombessemer's advice works if you're surfing sites and get a "ios Crash Report" message in Safari on your iPhone like I did!
    1.  Place the phone in Airplane mode.
    2.  Go to Settings > Safari > And Clear History and website Data
    3.  Reopen safari and all will be gone. Turn off Airplane mode.
    Definite scam!

  • Ios crash report due to a third party application

    My son was watching something on his iPhone (5c) iOS 7.1.2 and received this message in Safari "http://supportcallnow.com 'warning!! iOS Crash Report' "  Due to a third party application in your phone, iOS crashed.  Contact Support for an immediate fix - 1800-523-2251.
    Fairly sure this is a virus or at least a scam.  Have already tried to reset by holding the power and square down until the apple icon appears, but to no avail.  I cannot get the message off of the Safari screen .

  • IOS : CRASH with version up to AIR 4.0 SDK : EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV) , KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x0000003c

    Hi everyone,
    I have a bad issue with the latest versions of AIR in my last app.
    I use AIR for develop this application. It's still finish for the most part of it.
    It's a simple application. I used the AIR 13.0 SDK during development.
    I didn't have any problem during all this time.
    Tests on iOS causes the app crash at the first second of execution.
    The compilation with SDK : 4.0, 13.0, 14.0 causes the same problem.
    The crash log errors:
    Exception Type:  EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV)
    Exception Subtype: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x0000003c
    Triggered by Thread:  0
    Libraries used :
    - MVCExpress
    - Starling
    - LoaderMax
    - TweenMax
    I tried to use an older version for test if It was due to the app...
    With compiling with AIR 3.9 SDK, the app works well on iOS.
    Everything looks okay.
    The crash happens during a simple Vector<> creation.
    And when tracing the System.freeMemory it seems to have very very low memory
    (compared to compilation with 3.9)
    But unfortunately, today, Apple didn't accept all apps compiled with old AIR version.
    and after uploading, Application Loader send an error :
    New apps and app updates submitted to the App Store must be built with the latest version of Xcode 5 from Feb1
    So, I can't submit a stable version for App Store Validation even I may have a running app
    Can someone could help me in generating a working ipa file for send this app ?

    HI,
    CFRetain
    That could be related to the Flash plugin.
    Uninstall then reinstall the Flash Player plugin then repair disk permissions.
    Uninstall Flash
    Install the most recent version of Flash here.
    Repair disk permissions...
    Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

  • Weird IOs crash with SpriteVisualElement

    Setup: FB 4.7, Flex Mobile project, AIR 3.5
    I'm making a IOs app mostly using starling with a classic display list screenmanager (extending SpriteVisualElement) on top to show some UI graphics. Everything runs great execpt when exporting a ad-hoc version or compiling with standard instead of fast. Any removeChild related method call inside my screenmanager even called by children causes an immediate crash. Changing my screenmanager to extend Sprite instead and adding it to the stage directly fixed the problem.
    Is there something a SpriteVisualElement is supposed to do to avoid this or is it a plain and plainful Flex bug?

    Have you tried rebooting or resetting the iPhone yet?  Might help if you haven't given it a shot already.

  • Photoshop Touch iOS Crash on Launch

    [ iOS - iPad 4 ]
    Initially I had no problems. I loved it. Everything functioned as expected. The problem started when I attempted to sync my file with CC! As soon as I choose sync, it crashed. Ever since then, it crashes instantly upon launch now. I haven't deleted the app because I don't want to loose my file!
    What can I do? Is this a known issue that is being worked on?

    A fault in ntdll indicates a basic system problem, but does turn attention somewhat away from things like graphics drivers.
    Microsoft does not define code 0xC0000374 (884 decimal) in their main error list.  However, an online search for this code turns up loose evidence that it may involve heap corruption due to 3rd party software or add-ons.  As it is happening at Photoshop startup time, and normally Photoshop does not have this problem, let me ask this:
    Do you have any 3rd party plug-in software installed into Photoshop?  If yes, does the problem clear up when you remove it?
    If the problem cannot be traced to a Photoshop plug-in, then suspicion turns to other software that you may have running on your computer.  Delving into this gets pretty technical, and involves using tools like AutoRuns and ShellExView to show what is installed and running when you start or log into your computer, then doing module by module disabling until the offender is found.
    It is also even possible that you have hardware faults.
    Do you see a pattern of other errors in your Windows System Event Log?

  • Publish Air (SDK 3.8) iOS crashs

    Hi!
    I have problem with publishing air (SDK 3.8) iOs Flash CS6 application for iPhone 5.
    I have created app with classic texts, png images with actual size (is PPI required to be 72, or can it be anything), add png -icons and launch picture named "[email protected]". Tests with Flash goes right and navigation seems to be working. Flash publish ipa but application only gives white screen and crashs.
    What can be wrong?

    Hi!
    I'm still wonderin. App is realy simple "from frame to frame". It doesn't require any access. You were right that it runs perfect with Android, but not with iOS.
    I have also edited AS3 settings: text layouts default linkage is changed from RSL to "Merged into code".
    Frame 1 code is like this:
    stop();
    bt1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, buttonClick10);
    function buttonClick10(event:MouseEvent):void{
    gotoAndStop(2);
    bt2.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, buttonClick11);
    function buttonClick11(event:MouseEvent):void{
    gotoAndStop(3);
    bt3.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, buttonClick12);
    function buttonClick12(event:MouseEvent):void{
    gotoAndStop(4);
    bt4.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, buttonClick13);
    function buttonClick13(event:MouseEvent):void{
    gotoAndStop(5);
    //scroll texts
    var where:Number =  250;
    var stageHeight:Number = 900;
    function dragOn(e:MouseEvent):void{
              var howLong:Number = e.currentTarget.height;
              //Rectangle(x,y,width, height);
              var longRec:Rectangle = new Rectangle(65, stageHeight-howLong, 0, howLong-stageHeight+where);
              e.currentTarget.startDrag(false, longRec);
    function dragOff(e:MouseEvent):void{
              e.currentTarget.stopDrag();

  • IOS crash logs?

    Where are the mobile device crash logs on Yosemite?  They used to be here:
    ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice
    Thanks.

    If you believe you've found a bug, you can report it to Apple via their feedback page:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipodtouch.html
    Or if you are an Apple developer or are willing to sign up as one (there's a free level) you can use the bug reporter which will guide you on what additional information to submit. If you have only iOS 6.0 and haven't updated to iOS 6.0.1 yet, I'd suggest doing so before reporting what you believe to be a bug, since the problem may have been fixed.
    Alternatively, you can post details of the problem - please do not post crash logs unless requested - and someone here may be able to offer suggestions for correcting the problem.
    Regards.

  • 4.3 ios crash

    Hello ... I have a 3GS iphone. It was working perfect. Prompted for ios 4.3 upgrade. Did so on iTunes. Phone shut down and now seems to be caught in a loop of somekind. Sits at aprox 99% download for 15+ minutes then gives a different error msg and #. Unplugged from iTunes and turn on it only shows a picture of USB plug.  Took it to the genuis at local apple store ~ he tried to sell me a new phone. Anyone know how to fix this?

    iPhone 3gs 4.3.1 restore problems / Crash (stuck at (restoring iphone software)
    Ok, somethings up. I'm having this problem too. I tried a clean restore several times, everything goes as normal, iphone has apple logo with progress bar below, itunes does its thing untill it gets 95% of its way through "restoring iPhone software" then just hangs there. Progress bar almost at the end, just stops!several times
    This is what i did.
    -Completely removed and reinstalled iTunes (fully up to date)
    -Tried a restore, same result, hangs 95% of the way
    -Tried restore from DFU, same result.
    -Tried many different ways, changes usb ports, cables, etc.,same result.
    -Did a clean restore on a different computer. (macbook pro, fully updated)
    YAY IT WORKED, CLEAN RESTORE ON A DIFFERENT COMPUTER!!
    -So, what do i do next? can i let this go? NO.
    -Just out of curiosity i plugged it into MY computer, synced it, then
    attempted to restore. BAD RESULT, same as before 95% then just stops.
    -Removed iTunes, the right way, then reinstalled and nothing.same result.
    -Successfully restored again on a friends MacBook Pro.
    I do remember how apple turned its back on loyal OSX Tiger users when iTunes no longer was compatible with Tiger (iTunes 10 and above). This made it impossible to restore any 4.x firmware without upgrading to iTunes 10.x (which couldnt be done on Tiger). I now have Snow Leopard running on an Intel Core Duo, this allows me to run iTunes 10.x so i got that covered. However my friends MacBook Pro has an Intel Core 2 Duo, small difference but it makes me wonder if maybe the newest version of itunes on a Core Duo, opposed to a Core 2 Duo, might be buggy. Oh Apple, please dont leave me behind because i'm POOR and can't afford to buy a brand new computer every 1-2 years.
    Moral to the story, try a clean restore on a newer, different computer. hope this helps...
