IOS devices and Exchange won't connect over Wifi

Neither my ipad nor my iphone 5 will connect with my exchange server over my wifi network.  The problem is limited to IOS devices on wifi and Exchange.  The phone will connect with exchange over the cellular network.  My windows laptop works fine over wifi with exchange and everything else.  The ipad and iphone will connect to wifi and have no problems with web browsing, gmail, etc.  I've used both devices successfully for months and the problem started yesterday.  I did not do any IOS updates yesterday.
iPad and iPhone are both on IOS 7.0.4
The message on the screen:  Cannot Get Mail.  Server error.  Contact your server administrator.
It also says:  Cannot Get Mail.  The connection to the server failed.
What I've tried:
Resetting network settings (only tried on iPad, since it didn't work)
Powering off each device then turning back on
Powered down the wireless router and powered back up
Confirmed with the exhange hosting company (GoDaddy) that they've made no changes

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app
    •    Tap on Wi-Fi
    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

  • Exchange Active Sync - Is there away to have the Reply and Forward symbols synchronise btween iOS devices and Exchange 2007?

Our company is running ActiveSync through Exchange 2007 and all our iOS devices connect to Exchange via MDM profiles.
When a reply/forward is made on the device, the reply/forward symbol is not shown in Outlook and vice versa.
Is this a setting on Exchange somewhere or inherent with iOS and ActiveSync?

    Hello Skipaldinho13,
I believe it is because the EAS version you are on is most likely below EAS 14.0.  EAS 14.0 was released with Microsoft Exchange Server 2010, which supports specifically what you are looking for.  Here's a good reference on all the EAS versions and change logs associated with the respective releases:

  • Time Machine won't connect over WiFi

I'm running 10.7.4 on my MacBook Pro.  I have an airport extreme that I have a Western Digital 2Gb network drive connected to.  I performed a full backup over the network and have had subsuquent backups work fine.  Recently I have been getting the following message and I can't get Time Machine to backup any changes I have on my computer.  "The backup disk image “/Volumes/TimeMachine/dave (2).sparsebundle” is already in use."  If I reboot the computer and the drive, I still can't get it to backup.  I am able to access the drive by selecting connect to server in the GO menu, but the Time Machine won't connect.  Any suggestions?  Thanks.

But your doing something that is not supported and frankly many people find does exactly what you experience... it works well for a while and then just won't work.. you can verify the disk.. see A5 in the same post as listed. You probably need to wipe it and start again.. but this will keep happening.. The AEBS is not suitable for this task.

  • Just bought a MacBook Air and it won't connect to wifi. Any ideas??

I have a new MacBook Air and am trying to set everything up but it won't connect to my wifi connection at home. Password is correct, have double checked everything. Even tried using a personal hotspot through my iPhone but that doesn't work either.
    Not sure what to do.
    Any help??
    Thanks :)

The warranty entitles you to complimentary phone support for the first 90 days of ownership.
If you bought the product in the U.S. directly from Apple (not from a reseller), you have 14 days from the date of delivery in which to exchange or return it for a refund. In other countries, the return policy may be different. If you bought from a reseller, its return policy applies.

  • How do I connect to internet when I have tried to restore my computer and it won't connect to wifi?

I Bought a used laptop and tried to restore it back to factory setting and deleted everything off the hat drive and now it won't connect to the internet and because it wont connect to the internet I can't re download the osx

    Then you're in a pickle...
Did wifi work before you tried to restore? And doesn't it accept your password or is there something else?

  • IOS 6.0.1 won't connect to wifi

I used to connect at home and now I can't. All my other devices (iPhone, iPod, iPad) connect. I can also connect my phone at work and other locations, just no longer at home. I have iOS 6.0.1. I downloaded that a few weeks ago. It worked for awhile and now stopped connecting.

I tried "Reset Network Settings" under General. It prompted me then to use the pw when trying to join. Same pinwheel. Then I tried "Forget this Network" and resubmitted with the same result. I also tried your suggestion with the same result. Under"Settings", "Wi-Fi" it shows the name of the selected network, but under "Choose a Network...", it shows the pinwheel spinning next to the netwok name. Opening Safari, I get the not connected message.

  • Just got iphone 5 and it won't connect to wifi. Any solution?

Has anyone found a solution to this?

    YES!!!
    After 3.5hrs. of grinding away @ this new Iphone5 ( white 32 gb )
I 1st went to general in settings,
reset the network settings,    ........    (yes, it's new but to be safe I did it)
Next I reinstalled my Linksys/ Cisco router software from the installation disk & thank God they updated my software automatically (probably the firmware).
I then double checked to make ABSOLUTELY DEAD CERTAIN I entered the CORRECT password!!!!!!
Even though I did do it properly the 1st time I tried to link up, the new router software upgrade did the trick.
The router in question is the Linksys E2500.
The dead give away was when I woke up I went STRAIGHT to McDonalds, bought a newspaper, & linked into their Wi/Fi in less than 10 seconds. So if it worked there it had to be a software issue @ home.
Give it a shot. I'm certain IO/S 6 must certainly need the latest software in order to function properly.
    I hope this helps.
DON'T PANIC!!! Use a little patience, take a little time, & you'll find you have a very nice device
    Good Luck,

  • My Ipad won't connect to wifi.

My Ipad (1st generation, iOS 7.1.2) won't connect to wifi. I've had the Ipad for two days, the first two days it worked perfectly fine with my wifi, but today it wouldn't connect. I tried getting back on to my wifi but it told me the password was incorrect. I have tried to enter the password multiple times, but every time it tells me its incorrect. It is the correct password and I have made sure I have been typing it in correctly, which I have. I'm not sure what the problem is, and I don't know how to fix it. Please help!

"My Ipad (1st generation, iOS 7.1.2) won't connect to wifi. I've had the Ipad for two days"
A first gen iPad can only be upgraded to iOS 5.1.1 so it may not be a first generation.
Tap Settings > General  > About
Which version do you see ??
    For iOS Wi-Fi issues ..
    Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
You will have to re enter your Wi-Fi password.
No data is lost due to a reset.

  • BRV does not connect to iOS devices. It actually will complete a connection to may iPhones and iPads once in a blue moon, but otherwise, the iOS devices just 'spin' on the connection. What can be done?

Does any one know how to get a reliable connection to an iOS device with the Verizon BRV router? The devices do not complete the connection. They have no problem at McDonalds or other free WiFi's so I think it is the BRV that has the issue.

    >  I would not think that all five have "corrupted" credentials.
You never know, someone may have monkied with something in a way that breaks the connectivity of these devices.  Try deleting the wireless profile on a few iOS devices and confirm if the problem persists or not so we can cross it off the troubleshooting list.  While we are at it I wonder if the iOS devices get IP addresses from the BRV when they are in this connecting/spinning state or not.  There could be a clue here as to what is going on.  No/invalid IP would suggest the device is getting blocked or unable to authenticate to the BRV.  An IP Address but no connectivity would mean the iOS devices are getting isolated and not allowed out to the internet.
I would also consider resetting the BRV back to the defaults and trying to connect these iOS devices with the default credentials.  If they iOS devices cannot connect with the default settings then there is likely a hardware failure on the BRV.  Such an issue would need to get reported to VZW for warranty replacement or servicing.

Both iPod and iPad won't connect after update.  iTunes says "can't allocate a resource"

I had the same problem after updating to iOS 7 today. I did follow the advice on another site, but additionally rebooted my iMac. Worked after that.
Follow these steps to reset the Lockdown folder:
Disconnect all iOS devices from your computer and quit iTunes.
From the Finder, choose Go > Go to folder.
Type the following and then press Return:
    /var/db/lockdown.
The Finder window should display one or more files with long alphanumeric file names.
In the Finder, choose Edit > Select all. Then, choose File > Move to Trash. Enter an administrator password if prompted.
Note: Do not delete the Lockdown folder itself. Delete only the files contained inside the Lockdown folder.
Reconnect your iOS device and open iTunes
My Additional step: reboot the Mac. Your iPad should give the first indication that it has worked by asking you to "trust this computer" or some such. Agree. Then iTunes should have reopened with your iPad showing and syncing.
