IOS devices not detected in iTunes

Hi everyone,
I am hoping against hope that someone can actually assist me.
I have an iPhone 5c, an iPod Touch 5th Gen and an iPad 3rd Gen.
I am running windows 7 with SP 1 installed.
All software is up to date, all Windows updates etc. iTunes is the latest version (12.0.1.26). This is before and after a complete reformat of my PC hard drive.
All devices have the most recent software as well. They are all functioning.
I have read and applied ALL the Apple "support"pages. I do mean ALL and have even tried older versions of iTunes.
iTunes will not recognise my devices. After a fresh install they appear (only the once) but as soon as I reboot (or turn off) the system then no longer show.
The devices do not show in Windows either. In Device Manager there is the Apple USB driver under USB devices but nothing under other or portable. they do not appear as a drive.
As you probably guess I am getting very frustrated as everything was working until the last version of iTunes and the latest software updates for my devices.
Considering I have reformatted and done a complete windows fresh install I would have thought it would have solved the issues. I have loaded only minimal programs (besides updates) to ensure no issues.
All other USB devices (mouse, etc) work okay.
Please help me as reading the posts on here I am not alone.
Many thanks in advance.

Just tried that option but got about 20 error messages firing off at the very end of the process (every time I clicked "OK" I would get another one immediately).
The error messages were all a variation of this:
<<The system extension “/System/Library/Extensions/AppleMobileDevice.kext” was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product’s vendor for an update.>>
The last portion (AppleMobileDevice.*) was replaced with each error message - many of which were about printers.

  • IOS device not recognized in iTunes, Windows  7 Computer, or Device Manager

Sometime last week, I ran the updates for my computer. When I plugged in my iPod Touch afterwards, it would not connect to iTunes, although on the iPod itself, I could see it was connected based on the "charging" symbol on the battery icon. So I checked if my computer recognized it as a "Device with removable memory in the computer. Only "DVD RW Drive (E)" showed up and under the "Other" section only showed my iCloud Photos folder. I also checked the device manager for any drive with the name Apple- none. I have only 2 USB ports on my computer, and I've switched between them over and over. No result. I have checked the hardware id's on all my USB drives in the device manager, and I only find the HP TrueVision camera on my laptop.
After a couple of hours browsing through the support forums, I was able to restore the driver, thus allowing my iPod to be recognized again by the computer and iTunes.
on 10/14/13 I ran the installation for updates again, and the same problem occured with my iPod. So I went through the same steps from last week, but this time, no changes. I still cant get the drive back on my device manager. I've gone through all the support pages pertaining to anything and everything about this issue, and still, everything I tried from and simple computer restore to a clean boot has still rendered no results. I know my USB cable works because im able to charge my iPod from any outlet (computer, A/C adapter, car adapter) and sadly I do not have the means to try on another computer.
    I have a HP 64-bit Computer running Windows 7 service pack 1.
    iTunes version 11.1 currently installed.
iPod Touch 4th Generation iOS version 6.1.3.
The Apple Mobile Device Support is installed.
    Can someone heplp me?

Have you tried to give your iPod  a reset? Hold down the sleep and home keys until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and try again.
Have you tried different USB ports? Rebooted your computer?
Uninstalled and then reinstalled iTunes? (You won't lose content if you uninstall)

  • HT1386 iOS devices not appearing in iTunes Devices on Windows XP Pro PC

I used to have a Mac. Now I'm trying to sync my iOS devices with my new-to-me Windows XP computer, and they are not showing up in iTunes Devices. A Found New Hardware Wizard pops up, asking for drivers. I've tried it with my iPhone and my iPad. I have Windows XP Professional, and the latest version of iTunes 10. My iPad 2 has iOS 6, but the iPhone is one of the older models with iOS 4.
The second part of my problem is that I'm trying to Transfer my Purchases from both the devices to the iTunes Library before I sync them, so I don't lose all my old music and photos.

Yeah, I've tried 5 out of the 7 steps shown in their troubleshooter.  The sixth step is one that is a major pain and I doubt would fix the problem: Reinstall iTunes.  I know enough about PCs to feel about 80% confident that this step would not fix the issue.  Plus, it's a major hassle with re-adding music to the collection.  Nevertheless, I will look at it as a last ditch effort.
The seventh step is extremely vague and doesn't really help.  "There might be a software conflict."  Fine, but there's no way to find any such conflict, if one even exists in the first place, without a heavy dose of trial-and-error, several hours of time, dozens of reboots, and the patience of Job.
However, they do list some other steps that I'll try when I get home, such as making sure certain services are installed and running.  I'll post my results here.  Thanks, wiclee.

  • IOS Devices not showing in iTunes

I'm running the latest version of Mac OS X (10.8.2) and the latest version of iTunes (11.0.1). I haven't had to connect any of my devices for some time (as I sync my iPhone via Wifi) but I want to wipe out my daighter's iPad and I can't seem to get iTunes to detect the device. I have also tried plugging in other devices (iPhone & iPod Touch) and none of them are being detected by iTunes. I have gone through the troubleshooting steps but nothing has worked - I've restarted the Mac, restarted the iOS devices, etc.
Any other ideas would be most appreciated. Thanks!

  • TS4062 My iOS devices not connecting to iTunes

I have an iPhone 5 with iOS 7.1, iPod touch 4 with iOS 6.1.6 and first generation of iPad with iOS 5.1.1. All are fully updated. I keep this up to date at all times. I am using iTunes 11.1.5.5. I have had nothing but problems with iTunes connecting to them via wifi. I have tried over and over to get them working as they SHOULD for a few years now. I have gotten them to all connect a few times but then they will stop connecting again. I have tried over and over to remedy this and to be honest I'm sick of it. I am about to stop using iOS devices due to this. Anyone have any ideas how to remedy this?

I'll assume NAT is in use here.
Are your iOS devices using the same DHCP server, same network, same DNS server, and the same settings as your OS X systems?  Do you have references to any other DNS servers in use here, or are all your systems using only your own local DNS server, with no references to other ISP or Google or off-network DNS servers?
Do your iOS devices have the necessary certificates loaded?   (Loading the certificates first, then the entitlements, is typical.)
Using .local is not something you want to tangle with here.
I'm going to assume you're obfuscating your domain here, as it's not likely you're using the (real and registered) domain "mydomain.net" here.   I'll also assume your local DNS is not using .local or .arpa as the domain name.  (If you're obfuscating, please consider using example.com, example.org or example.net, as these are reserved for this and similar uses.)

  • IOS devices not recognized in iTunes via USB

I am on a Windows 7 x64 home-built computer and I am pretty technically inclined, but this one problem has been bugging me for quite a while now.
I am pleased that Apple wants its devices to sync wirelessly with iTunes from now on, but there are times when it is necessary to plug in the device via USB, such as when transferring large files.
However, in the last few weeks/months, I have noticed that iTunes will not recognize my iPhone 4 nor my iPad 2 when they are plugged in via USB.  The computer recognizes the devices, drivers are installed properly, and I can see the devices in Windows Explorer, getting photos off of them that way.  However, iTunes does not show the devices with that "plugged in" icon next to them, only the usual sync/eject icon.
This is also a problem because sometimes iTunes just won't "see" the devices, but sometimes it will.  Regardless, I need to be able to tether them sometimes for transferring relatively large files via USB.  Wi-Fi just isn't fast enough.  I suppose I may have to disable Wireless syncing altogether, but I fear that may not fix the problem, because it was syncing via USB just fine in the early weeks of iOS 5 and with wireless syncing enabled.  I do have the latest iTunes, I do have the latest firmware for both devices, and I have rebooted both my computer and the devices several times lately, all without effect.
I've done all the simple solutions and none of them have worked.  Can anyone explain what's going on and, more importantly, what I can do about it?

Yeah, I've tried 5 out of the 7 steps shown in their troubleshooter.  The sixth step is one that is a major pain and I doubt would fix the problem: Reinstall iTunes.  I know enough about PCs to feel about 80% confident that this step would not fix the issue.  Plus, it's a major hassle with re-adding music to the collection.  Nevertheless, I will look at it as a last ditch effort.

  • IOS : Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows

During the update from my ipad from ios7.02 ==> 7.03 update stopped .
I recoverd the ipad via an another PC
after update itunes didn't reconize ipad; iphone and ipod
i followed several times the procedure : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538?viewlocale=en_US
    result is still the same
the aonly thing that i didn't succeeded is the remove of following map after deinstallation the Apple Programs ( in the right order)
In most cases, removing iTunes and its related components from the Control Panel will remove all supporting files belonging to those programs. In some rare cases, files may be left behind. After following the previous steps, you should confirm that the following files and folders have been removed. If any are left behind, remove them now:
    C:\Program Files\Bonjour
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\
    C:\Program Files\iTunes\
    C:\Program Files\iPod\
can someone give me a definitive and proper solution?
