IOS file invalid error in Apple Configurator

I am getting the error "ios file invalid" when I choose to update iPads to the latest iOS using Apple Configurator. Does Apple Configurator connect to Apple to download the iOS files or do I need to download them manually? Could my firewall be causing this issue?

Same here.
My config is MacBook Pro 2.3 running Lion and getting th error ios file invalid
when trying to supervise 1 single ipad.
I am running configurator 1.1 (125)
iTunes 11 latest.
Will try upgrading to MLion and see what happens.
As I am posting this I noticed my badge for App Store just badged....Configurator has an update.
Will post back after.

I'm trying to prepare some new iPads using Apple Configurator and the download of IOS8 failed.
The error in Apple Configurator is "Unable to download iOS 8.0. The firmware image was corrupted. Please retry the operation."
Is there a way to get the Apple Configurator to try to re-download iOS 8?

Apple Support had me delete the image file from the following location:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.configurator/Data/Library/Caches/com.apple.confi gurator/firmware/
    The file name was iPad3,4_8.0_12A365_Restore.ipsw
I deleted this file and ran the prepare again and it download the iOS 8 ok and successfully prepared the iPad.

I was using configurator without trouble.  Unfortunately, my battery died and my computer went down.  I plugged my computer in, restarted it and tried to open configurator.  Now this is the error I am getting.  Apple Configurator could not open your library. The file couldn’t be opened because it isn’t in the correct format.  How do I fix this?

Thank you for responding. The number 2 after the file final cut events is temporary so I can copy it to another drive while I am working on this.  . i got a new message that reads...

  • Error in Apple Configurator - Unable to Download iOS 7.1.2. The firmware image was corrupted.

The initial update of some iPads failed while preparing them in Apple Configurator. Now this message, Unable to Download iOS 7.1.2. The firmware image was corrupted, appears every time I try to prepare using the Configurator. Can the corrupted firmware image be deleted or is there away around the error?

    It should be located here:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.configurator/Data/Library/Caches/com.apple.config urator/Firmware/
Try deleting the ipsw from here and re-download it.

  • IOS version on supervised devices (Apple Configurator)

When preparing supervised devices in Apple Configurator, are we forced to install the latest iOS on our devices? (The "When update is available" option is auto-selected and can not be changed)

    Hi claes.jacobsson,
Unfortunately, yes... when you supervise a device you are forced to update the iOS to the latest version.
    Hope this answers your question.

  • HT200241 Is their a way to cache the ios8 file when using the apple configurator to load MDM on ios devices iphones/ipods

I am loading mobile iron mdm solution on my devices and the configurator is checking and installing ios8 on devices even if they are already up to date and its taking 30 minutes per device. Is their a way to cache the ios8 file so this process is shortened?

I'm not gonna do a complete reset because I shouldn't have to . Apple put out a very buggy update .
I am not ranting about your suggestion , which is fine , but these are ridiculous issues for an operating system that been out for years .

  • Translation xliff file invalid error

    Hi
I get a "Document is invalid: no grammar found" error when trying to use an HTMLDB 2.0 xliff exported file with the Sun Open Language tool.
    What does this mean?
    Thanks

    Hi Sergio,
Thanks for your reply. I spend 16hrs a day on this app promising everybody we will be able to translate and now this. The translators use this tool (they are not very computer literate) for other web sites without problems. I downloaded and installed the tool from Sun myself and also got the same error.
    The complete error is:
The file is not well formatted xml document.
Error occured at line 13 column:7
Error message:Document is invalid: no grammar found.

  • GRC 5.3 - Text file upload errors in RAR configuration

    Hello,
I am in the process of configuring the RAR for GRC 5.3 and I keep getting several java errors while trying to upload the Descripotions Text file from the backend system.
I could successfully load the Auth object file after several attempts.
Can someone advise how I can overcome this issue.
    Thanks,

    Hi Farah,
Please refer to this document [Offline Mode Risk Analysis|https://www.sdn.sap.com//irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/20a06e3f-24b6-2a10-dba0-e8174339c47c|Offline Mode Risk Analysis at GRC Wiki]. This will help you in conforming the structure and all the necessary tabbed-delimitation in each file.
Yes, as mentioned do save the files as UTF-8 text encoding.
Secondly, DO NOT open the files in MS WORD or MS EXCEL rather use WORDPAD and NOTEPAD for the same. Sometimes, word/excel affect the stucture of the file and even you can't open more than 65536 records in excel.
    Cheers!

  • Apple Configurator: The configuration for your iPad could not be downloaded from organisation . Invalid Profile.

    Good afternoon,
I am really struggling with a deployment of 10 iPad Minis.
The iPads are brand new and I have downloaded and installed Apple Configurator onto our Apple Air laptop.
I have configured Apple Configurator in the following way:
    Under Prepared:
    Settings
Name is ticked with 'Number sequentially starting at 1'.
Supervision is ticked to on, Allow devices to connect to other Macs is also ticked.
Update iOS is set to "When update is available". Erase before installing is ticked.
Restore is set to "Don't restore backup".
No profiles are listed in the profiles section.
    Apps
I have copied in some appropriate apps.
    Setup
Skip: Restore, Passcode, Siri, Touch ID, Apple Pay, App Analytics all ticked.
I have not configured Device Enrollment.
In "Configure Settings..." Device Enrollment is not configured.
After preparing my iPads, they all connect and prepare correctly. When I select any iPad and unlock it, the following happens:
    Hello, slide to setup
    Select language, UK selected
Select Your Country or Region, UK selected
Choose a Wi-Fi Network, correct network selected and authenticated
    Location Services: Enabled
Configuration, "<organisation> can automatically configure your iPad". Apply Configuration or Skip Configuration. Apply selected.
Configuration, "The configuration for your iPad could not be downloaded from <organisation>. Invalid Profile.
Apple Configurator is showing no errors, have tried Supervise>Reset, makes no difference.
Have skipped configuration and erased iPad before trying again, same problem.
Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

  • IOS6 and Apple Configurator

I updated my iOS devices to 6 using apple configurator.  The devices updated no problem, but the apps won't lay down.  Now they act like a restored device and I have to start all over.  Configurator is also not laying down profiles.

If you did not restore a backup as part of the configuration for the devices in Configurator, you will need to complete the setup assistant on each device manually. If you are not supervising the devices, profiles will not install until you complete the assistant. Apps should install fine in either case, though. How do you know they are not being installed?
Can you be more specific about the configuration you are applying to the devices?

  • Unsupervising my 30 iPads using the apple configurator is taking hours.

I can't tell if there is an issue or it's just taking a long time. Each iPad had many apps on them. I'd hate to stop the process if it really takes a long time to complete. Thoughts?

If they were assigned to people, it has to make a complete backup of each person's work / documents / pictures. That backup can take a really long time sometimes. I had one user whose backup took over an hour... not sure what she put on there.
Don't forget that you're sending commands to 30 devices through one USB cable. That's a lot of data, depending on what's going on.
If they weren't assigned and you're just unsupervising, it should not take long. Check cables. The unsupervise command doesn't remove individual apps, it restores the iPad to a fresh state - just before first use. That command to reset the device should not take too long. I unsupervised 29 of them today. It took about 20 minutes to finish them all (and a couple had errors).  Apple Configurator 1.4 is still flawed, IMHO.

  • Passcode Lock prevents Apple Configurator from working

We have over 2,000 Supervised iPads in our district. We would like the students to Passcode Lock their iPads to deter other students from messing with the iPads.
Once the Passcode Lock is set, Apple Configurator no longer works :-(
    Cannot Update/Install Apps
    Cannot Remove/Install Profiles
    Cannot Restore from Backup
    etc
Must type in the Passcode and Supervise while logged in (which prevents us from closing the lid, plugging in the iPad into the Bretford carts). Once the lid is closed, the passcode lock is activated again. This is a ROYAL PAIN!
Also, if the teacher is not aware of what the student Passcode is, there is no way of updating the iPad. Multiply this by 2,000 and you can see how much of a pain this is.
Apple Configurator should be able to work with Supervised iOS devices that are passcode locked. It just makes sense. IF the iOS device is Supervised by Apple Configurator, the Passcode Lock should NOT prevent further management by Apple Configurator.
    Apple, PLEASE FIX IT

  • Apple Configurator error code 2003 MCCAndMNCs is invalid

    Hi,
I have updated my MBP to OS X 10.10 (Yosemite) and installed the latest Apple Configurator (AC) 1.7.1.
I have an existing Profile that includes one (1) payload: Wi-Fi. This profile is used for Passpoint (HS2.0).
In the previous version of AC (1.6 I think), the profile I created worked (iPhone 5S with iOS 7 installed, AC on OS X Mavericks).
Here are the most important fields from the Payload:
    Security Type is: WPA2 Enterprise
    EAP type field is: EAP-AKA
MCC/MNCs field is: MCC=505, MNC=1 (I can't input 01 into this field, and the MNC is meant to be 2 digits, but the AC just replaces it with 1)
When I try to re-install this Wi-Fi Profile on an iOS8, the AC complains with the following error:
Has anyone seen this error before?
Where can I get a list of error codes that the Apple Configurator (1.7) uses?
    Are there any workarounds available?
    Thanks,
    Al

A wag at this.  A port issue?
    "Apple Push Notification network setup
When MDM servers and iOS devices are behind a firewall, some network configuration may need to take place in order for the MDM service to function properly. To send notifications from an MDM server to Apple Push Notification service, TCP port 2195 needs to be open. To reach the feedback service, TCP port 2196 will need to be open as well. be open."
