"iOS Files" Folder, what's it doing here?

Hello! Ok my desktop was such a mess, I had to organise all my files and put them in the correct places. And now I'm stuck with the last folder on my desktop which is called "iOS Files". And I have absolutely no idea where it comes from, what it is, or what to do with it. I'm affraid of deleting it because it might mess up my computer even more. I've had this iMac since beginning of september. What shall I do with this folder now?

OK.
Folders can be added to the header of a Finder window simply by dragging them there; they are a special kind of alias, pointing to the originsl.
If the original is removed, the alias is then orphaned, The question mark indicates the OS can't find the original.
To remove it, hold down the Command key and drag it out of the window's header.

You probably have not seen anyone reporting the exact same problem as you. All three crash reports have the same crash signature and as currently ranked 67 it is not the commonest of reasons for a crash.
I hope you enter your email contact information when reporting crashes. I note you see this crash when using videos, others may possibly see this crash in other circumstances.
You have already tried the obvious, attempts at a fix so it is now down to wait and see, maybe developers working on the bug will report something or fix it.
Did you try my suggestion of installing portable ESR ?

Did you check your security software settings? iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues
Since you installed the new iTunes 10.5, you might have to change the settings for it.

It's not broken it's not letting me do what I want too and I am very upset and I want in on this project that you are trying to guide me away from!!!!! I did not find this website by searching or typing i found it by using my tools.

@LowLuster is of course correct. You will need to either restore from TM or upgrade the hard drive and restore from Time Machine.

An odd program... or do I have no idea what I'm doing here?

I've been trying to take out some room noise from an hour and a half long talk given by a man at my university. I understand how the de-noiser works, but when I try to use it Soundtrack Pro locks up on me and crashes. I also thought to try the "Phase Analysis", but after two and a half hours I came to think it had locked up as well, although honestly "Force Quit" had not said it was not responding. However that's longer than a real time analysis would have been. These are the only things I've tried, and neither have worked. Is an hour and a half too long for SP to view, that is, should I break it into smaller pieces somehow? Is SP only good for adding smaller bits of audio to a previously assembled movie? Or am I doing something very wrong here? The format is, incidentally, a .mov that I had edited in Avid Xpress and exported with the Sorensen Squeeze attached to that, uncompressed, and is 20.24 GB in size. Thanks for your help, L

I wish I could say things were going better- by losing the video, I am able to import the audio into SP. It will then check for phase, hum, etc... but then it will only reluctantly allow me to put an EQ or noise reducer on it. If I play the audio to hear what I've done, when I stop it, the program begins to stutter. This is probably the fault of my soundcard, which is an M-Audiophile 192, not the best. Also I tried just putting the whole audio track in, not breaking it up into 10 minute bits. It's only 1.55 GB, I was hoping that could be OK, but I guess it's still too much for the program. It's not that important, the only one who cares about the quality of the sound is myself, and only just to learn SP. I'm confused about how to export the changes I have made, however. I ended up working with the audio in Logic, got it OK, and then it didn't link up to the video in Avid, like I might have guesses. These are things I'll just have to learn though- again, thanks for your help. If you have any advice I'd sure love it, either way, I'm done for now... I'll mark this as closed tomorrow after I see if you have any more. Thanks, L Mollard

I have used lightroom for years on my PC and just installed it on my new iMac. I cannot import NEF files from iPhoto or from my Lacie hard drive into Lightroom. I have tried Lightroom Help but still cannot import NEF files. What am I doing wrong?

If they are the same nef files that you were importing into your PC, see if the reason is an error message like the thread above this one. Permissions issue.

I write both JPG and DNG files in the camera.   Camera is a Leica Monochrom.   Photo, unlike iPhoto, seems to ignore DNG files and only imports JPG files.   What am I missing here?

JPGs are used for quick proofing on an iPad.    DNG RAW files are edited on a Mac Pro (2013).    Other than deleting the JPGs before importing images from the SD card, is there any way to force Photo to select and import only the DNG images?

I did see the J stacked in the lower left of the thumbnails but couldn't figure out how to get to whatever is below it.   How do you select R?
I use an iPad to do quick proofs of my images.   A JPG is good enough for a proof ( dust on the lens, composition, blown out image, etc. ).   The iPad is JPG friendly and can load the images quickly.    Serious editing takes place on my Mac Pro with the DNG files.   I use the same workflow with the the Leica M 240.   iPhoto has been a quick and easy importer to the Mac capturing all of the metadata in the EXIF sidecar file ( location, date, time, camera settings, lens type). A quick scan in iPhoto for the "keepers" let's me export those worth editing to Lightroom/Bridge/Photoshop. I typically shoot 50 images from three locations in a normal day. If I'm lucky I'll get 1 worth real work to add to the portfolio.

I get into the application because it says that it's a hosted
service. But before I can do anything with it, it tells me I have
to have an FTP server to use it. Usually, a hosted solution means
that the user doesn't expect to have to buy an FTP server to use
it.
It's a let-down to be told up front that this is a hosted
service, but then I can't even try it without first buying a hosted
FTP server from somewhere else. I think the messaging needs to be
more clear.
Also, the Adobe Labs site seems fragmented. Which one of
these 2 sites is the "real" Adobe Labs InContext homepage?

You can try the standard fixes:
- Reset. Nothing will be lost

- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPOd.

First, go back into the CPTX source file and check that LMS reporting is indeed turned on and that it is set to SCORM etc.
If that is OK. Republish and use the Zip option in the Captivate Publish dialog settings to zip the file. Don't zip it yourself.
If your LMS still rejects this zip file, upload to SCORM Cloud and see if it rejects it too.

Drag-and-drop tree list from files/folder

Hello all. I'm new to Flex and I'm looking for some help or
for someone to point me in the right direction. I want to write a
simple AIR application to accept a multiple text files (or a folder
full of text files) when the files/folder is dragged into a tree
list. The file/folder name will be the node name. When selected,
the contents of the file will be displayed in a text area. The text
file will contain a 4 x 4 number matrix with each column separated
by a tab and each row separated by a return. (I plan on plotting
the numbers in the matrix in the future).
What I'm most confused about is how to go about
dragging-and-dropping files into a tree list and creating item
names based on the file/folder name? And does the file content need
to go into an array collection?
Maybe I'm going about this in a difficult way. If there is an
easier way, I'd appreciate it if someone could share. Thank you

I have the same problema and I´m not able to find the reason.
The solution to get the event raised has been to copy configurations from wd standard appl FPM_TEST_DND_FORM and use my own Z feeder class : all seems to work perfectly , but , if I try to do it from scratch the event FPM_DROP_COMPLETED it´s not raised .
I´ve compared both configurations/class ( the one that I´ve done from scratch that it doesn´t raise the event and the one that I´ve adapted copying from standard that it raises perfectly the event) and I haven´t seen any difference (maybe I haven´t found) .

In my understanding, synchronized block should take an object as an argument for monitoring for any thread that has gained control on its lock. However, somewhere I saw an example that takes a class file as an argument, and this doesn't really make any sense to me. Any explain for this phenomenon ...

Well this doesn't make sense too. Firstly, the
argument should be an object instead of a member of
the object. Secondly, there isn't any member called
"class" defined for the SyncTest class. Any other
suggestion ??Every class that's loaded in the VM has an associated object of type java.lang.Class (http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/docs/api/java/lang/Class.html).
You can get this Class object a couple of ways:
1) Class.forName("com.mycompany.MyClass");
2) this.getClass() in a non-static context
3) As you saw above, e.g. Class class = com.mycompany.MyClass; It's not a member. I forget the exact terminology. I think it's called the class literal or something like that.
This Class object is an object like any other, and as such, can be used as a lock for synchroniztion. It can be named explicitly, as in your example, or it can be implied, by synchrzonizing a static method, just as syncing a non-static method syncs on this.
Also, a member of an object is either an object or a primitive (int, char, etc.). If it's an object, then it's a valid candidate to be a lock, just like the object that contatins it, which itself could be a member of another object.

Keywords, Lightroom and Bridge. What am I doing wrong?

Whenever I save a keyword to an xmp sidecar file or to a dng file in Lightroom 5.2, and then search for that keyword in Bridge CC, the file associated with that keyword will not show up. However, if I navigate to that destination folder of that file, the keywords will be listed., and from that point on, when I search for that keyword again, the file will show up. In Lightroom I am saving the metadata to the file. What am I doing wrong?

Not much. If you want to search for a keyword in Bridge you best use the Find command itself. Be sure to set the correct fields and also check both the options for include subfolders and non indexed files. The latter is pretty important.
As you already discovered after viewing the file in Bridge the keyword was found, thanks to the fact Bridge had cached and indexed the file during your first selection. Files that never have been cached are also not indexed (Bridge reads the content of the metadata and saves it to its database) Only after having the data in its own database it is able to search for the files.
