IOS is showing my text messages on my husbands phone and vice versa

My husband updated to iOS6 earlier today and I did it later. Now, whenever I receive a text message from anyone he gets it on his phone. Also, whenever he sends it to anyone I get it on my phone.
Even more interesting, if I send a message to him, it shows up on my phone as being from me. If he sends one to me, it shows up on his phone as from him. And, if I send a message on the thread that would be myself to myself, it shows up on my phone as being from my husband. Our Cloud settings are turned off. We do share apple ID. We share a phone plan through verizon. Our cell phone numbers on the phones themselves have not changed.
Any ideas?

Try this....
settings>messages>send&receive
from there make sure only the number for the phone has a check mark beside it.
You may have to do this to both phones. I think this will work as my husband and I are having the same problem.

Settings > Messages > Send and Received > Uncheck any number/email that does not belong to the device
Note: The little blue (>) will give you an option to remove the number/email from the device

My partner and I share an iCloud account . We both have the iPhone 5. We recently updated the software to the iOS 7.2 and now whenever she gets a text message I receive and vice versa. This never happened before only happened since the update

iCloud has nothing to do with messages (iCloud does include an email account, but not a messaging service). If you both use the same AppleID for iMessage, then you are sharing the same messaging account.
One of you needs to get an alternate AppleID, sigin out of iMessage, then sign in with the alternate AppleID. That way you will each have your own private iMessage accounts.

HT1688 problem with some of my text messages going to another phone and other devices on my account

Some messages that are texted to my phone go directly to another phone(with a different number) on my account.

More than likely someone sent you an iMessage addressed to your Apple ID email address that is also registered with iMessage on your iPhone in addition to your cell phone number. The cell phone number is registered with the Apple ID email address when activating iMessage on an iPhone.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive.
Under You Can Be Reached By iMessage At, deselect your Apple ID email address.
Under Start New Conversations From, make sure your cell phone number is selected.

ICloud creates duplicate text messages on both my phone and my wifes. Very annoying. where do I go to fix settings?

I can't find a easily accessible way to not change iCloud device coveage. Both my wife and I sync to the same computer and account. How do I get her phone number off of account so we don't get copied in on messages sent to one another?

To fix this go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and do one of the following:
Either uncheck the email address shown under "You can be reached by iMessage at" on both phones; or
If you want to continue to receive iMessages at this email address on one of the phones, on the other phone tap the Apple ID at the top, sign out, then sign back in using a different Apple ID (so both phones will be using a different Apple ID for iMessage). Note: you can continue to share an Apple ID for purchasing from the iTunes and App stores. It does not need to be the same as the ID you are using for iMessage, FaceTime and other services.

Kids getting my texts on their phone and vice versa---HELP

Ever since the update last night, and not prior to that, some of my texts and responses ends up on their phones. It only happens if we have the same contact. I saw on here something about not using the same ID on 3 different phones, but we've always done this. We have one ID and share it by using folders to sync.
Can anyone please help please?? This has to stop right away....arrggg.
So I take it to a Sprint store and they tell me to just go to Apple store. I'd like to avoid that mess if I have to.
BTW, there we have 2 4s's and one 4. Please help!

So, when I went into settings-messages-send/receive, it showed all of our phone numbers and they were all checked. I unchecked all the ones that were not my phone number and sent a test message. It worked. I did not get their message on my phone. I had to message do this to all 3 phones.
If I have any other issues, I will make the id's as you explained.
I am very appreciative of your time. I was desperate and you really helped me out. I never would have looked there had you not told me to.

When I use punctuation at the end of a line of text, it jumps to the front and vice versa?

This has been happening on and off for the past couple of months.
When I type a scentence that either begins or ends with any kind of punctuation, the punctuation jumps to the opposite side of the text.
ie. What's New? becomes ?What's New
Sometimes closing photoshop works to fix it, sometimes restarting my computer works, and sometimes it just stops on its own.
I end up having to creeate the punctuation in a seperate text layer and my layers end up a little messy.
I'm using Photoshop CS6. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Go to Edit > Preferences > Type - make sure 'Middle Eastern' is selected
If it's not selected, select it and restart photoshop. If it is selected, close preferences and move to the next step.
Go to Type > Lauguage Options - Select Middle Eastern Features
Go to your Paragraph Panel, and make sure this is selected:

Hey I just got a Mac book pro and have an I-phone how do you sync the mail on the computer with the mail in the phone?? I ask because once I delete the messages on the computer try aren't deleting on the phone and vice versa so I wind up reading 2x

You may already have one. E-mail servers provide support for POP or IMAP, and sometimes both. How you access the account depends on how you set it up on your device. You'll need to check with your e-mail provider and see if they support accessing your account via IMAP. If they do, you'll need to re-create the account on both the Mac and the iPhone to use the IMAP settings instead of the POP settings. (Note that when you delete a POP account, all e-mail in the In box will be deleted. Move any e-mail you don't want to lose into an "On My Mac" mailbox on the Mac beforehand.)
Also, if you have set the iPhone to sync e-mail messages in iTunes, turn that off. You won't need that with IMAP.

If you can't receive text messages after restarting your phone and trying to update, try these steps next:
If you still can't send or receive SMS or MMS messages
See the iPhone Troubleshooting Assistant.
Verify that every phone number in your contacts list includes an area code.
When sending to existing contacts, ensure that your contacts include the full phone number, and not just the information needed to dial locally.
If you have recently ported your number from another carrier, please contact your current carrier to verify that the porting process has completed successfully.

no, there currently is no way of doing this. You can only create a second Apple ID.

How do I get my iPad to show iMessages from my iPhone, and vice versa?

My iPad used to show the same iMessages as on my iPhone, and vice versa...and now it doesn't. I don't know whether it was an iOS upgrade that fouled it up or what, but I'd like to restore the convenience of seeing and responding to iMessages on either device. They both send and receive iMessages, but one begun on one device does not appear on the other.

When using spotlight search on my 5s it will not show past text messages that haven't even been deleted even if I type a specific word that I know is in a message I want to search for. I have message search turned on in the spotlight settings.

When using spotlight search my phone will not show all text messages with a common word even though I have not deleted any messages from my phone and I have the message search turned on in settings under spotlight search. The search only shows the messages that are recent within the past day or so. Why won't it show the other messages when I search for them even using a specific word that I know was in the message I'm searching for.

It sounds like you are not getting notifications for new text messages that are coming in, and you must manually check the app. I recommend checking the Notification settings to see if they are configured correctly:

"Sounds like you guys are using the same apple id for imessage. You will need to create a separate id for you wife. OR go to settings - message - receive&send and make sure your phone number is the default for both you and yoru wife.
