IOS Numbers has crashed - can I restore my spreadsheet?

I have a spreadsheet in numbers, I tried to open it and it says Spreadsheet can't be opened.  I have no idea why but I desperately do not want to lose the spreadsheet as it took me a long time to put together.

All apps on the iPad save the data as they continue along so presumably the spreadsheet should still be intact. Try quitting Numbers and restart the iPad then try to open the spreadsheet again.
To quit numbers - Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open Numbers by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on athe Numbers icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close Numbers. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
If that doesn't work and If you have backed up your iPad since you created the spreadsheet you can restore from the backup to put the spreadsheet back onto the device.

My computer backed up my iPhone before I updated my IOS, now itunes crashes everytime I restore!  How can I get my contact information back?

    When does iTunes crash?
When you connect to the computer?
When you click on the restore button?
    At sometime during the restore?
Does it crash or does just iTunes freeze?

the keyboard shortcut that turns an exclamation mark into an apostrophe no longer works in iOS 6. How can I restore that shortcut?

Well, I for one really hate when they change this stuff.  They get us used to doing it one way for years and then they change it.  Why?  Really, seriously, truly......WHY?
In fact, I originally noticed it had changed and then when I'd hit it, I thought it required me to touch both so I ended up with an apostrophe but then also a letter "l".  I just left commas everywhere I went for a while cuz it ticked me off so bad I just rebelled.
In ios5 it was actually faster because it's the same move and time involved, but without the extra "slide".  So, in essence, Apple went backwards.
    Nice, eh?

i accidentally erased numbers. How can I restore it?

    Depends which version.
Numbers 3: Go to your Mac app store account, click on Purchases, download and install again.
Numbers '09 (boxed retail iWork package): Reisntall from install disk. Use Softwre update to check for and install updates.
Numbers '09 (download): Might be difficult, as this version is no longer available from Apple. Check your app store account. You may have to locate and purchase a retail version from a reseller.

  • Local backup was made without "Encrypt Local Backup" checked before upgrading to iOS 7 but I can't restore because a password is requested to restore it. What do I do?

I hadn't yet upgraded to iOS7 from iOS6 on my iPad so I clicked "Manual Backup" [To this computer] and "Encrypt Local Backup" was not checked.
The backup seemed to complete without error or incident.
I then went through the iOS 7 upgrade and when it was completed the options are "Set up as new device" or "Restore from Backup"
Since I didn't want to wipe all the data on my iPad, I chose restore, and it said connect to iTunes, which I did.
When I click on Restore Backup, it asks for me to choose which backup I want. I choose the last one that I had just done as indicated above (which is the default).
It then gives me a dialog of "Enter the password to unlock your iPad backup. I even tried every password I've used in the last two years. Nothing works. What I don't understand is why it's asking for a password at all?
Is there a way around this? I don't want to loose the data I just backup up.

Sorry there is no way around this.
If you don't know the password you will need to restore as new.
Then you can sync apps/music back via itunes.

  • Leopard Crashing, Can't Restore Previous Settings

I have a major problem with Leopard on my MBP. When I went to start up this morning, I got stuck on the initial gray screen with the apple logo -- it wouldn't get past that screen, icon was just spinning, etc. I have a SuperDuper back-up that was fairly recent (2 days ago), and I went to start-up using my back-up (which is an external usb 2.0 disk). The MBP started up from the back up, but the desktop was all changed -- it looks like it's the original Leopard desktop -- purple space screen and all the original dock icons (which I had substantially changed). It appears that my user files were all available on the backup disk, but all kind of strange things happened when I went to use programs. For instance, when I went to use Spotlight (off of the backup disk), nothing was indexed (it had been previously). When I went to start Entourage, I got an error message (-5000) saying it couldn't open that identity. So I figured I had a major permissions problem. But when I tried to repair permissions (again, on the backup disk), I got an error message.
So I'm a little baffled about what exactly has gotten messed up. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that, since I have a very recent backup, I should be able to restore things one way or another without too much loss. But does anyone have any suggestions about what to do?
I tried restoring the hard disk on the MBP using SuperDuper, and that gets the MBP to the point where it can start up, but the above problems still remain -- i.e., very strange behavior. Could this be a hardware problem, and if so, how do I find that out?
Sorry I'm so all over the place with this, but that's part of the problem -- I can't quite figure out what's going on.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Disk Crashed: can i restore playlist and music from iPod

    HI
My hard drive crashed and I lost everything on that disk. However, I have my music and playlist in my iPod Touch 32gb 2nd Generation. Is it possible to transfer the music and playlist back to my new hard drive?
I also have a backup from the music , but I have tried to import the iTunes Music Library (was in iTunes 9) to the new iTunes 10 and iTunes suddenly crashes.
I know I could just put all the music back but I'll have to make new playlists.. and I want to know how can I recover them either from the iTunes Music Library from iTunes 9 or my iPod
Also, if I put my music back on the disk.. and sync the ipod... i thing the ipod will erase its contents and replace them to be able to sync?

If it is purchased music through iTunes you can simply connect the iPod, open iTunes and go to File > Transfer Purchases.
If the music is not purchased through iTunes you can use this software to move ANY music from the iPod to your Mac: http://www.getsharepod.com/

  • I lost my GoodReader software app after i upgraded to iOS 5. How can I restore/find it?

I forgot to mention that i was upgrading my ipad 2 to iOs 5. after it was done I could not longer find my GoodReader.
Any suggestions on how to recover it would be appreciated.

You should be able to re-download it via the Purchased tab in the App Store app on your iPad. If you updated the iPad via your computer's iTunes then was the app in the Apps part of your computer's iTunes library ? A backup doesn't contain your apps, just their content and settings, so for a restore to copy back an app, that apps need to be in your library.

  • Can you restore from a backup that was made on a previous version of iOS?

    Hello.
I had an iPhone 3GS unning whatever the latest proper version of iOS currently is at the time of writing (4.3.5, is it?) but on Saturday I was on a rather drunken night out and I lost my phone.
    Silly me.
But I was out of contract and the new iPhone (4S or 5 or whatever) is going to be announced on Tuesday next week (just been confirmed by Apple today) so I'm just going to make do with an old, spare Nokia until the new iPhone is available in the UK.
Once the new iPhone launches I will buy it, plug it into iTunes and just restore from backup and I'm back in business.
Except for one thing... The new iPhone will have iOS 5 installed and my last backup before I lost my 3GS was done on iOS 4.3.5.
Is this going to be a problem or can you restore from a backup made with an older version of the OS?
I've never done it before so I don't know.
    J

You "should" have no problem doing that. I say should, because you can't restore a backup made with a higher iOS on a device running a lower iOS, I.E. - you can't restore a backup made from a device running, let's say iOS 4.3.5 on a device running iOS 4.2.10. However, iOS 5.0 will present many new features and since it has not been released, I have no way of stating with certainty that doing as you plan will not present any problems. Past history indicates it won't, but we'll have to wait & see.

  • Can I restore an iCloud backup from a different iOs version?

I have like all these backups from previous iPhones. My question is: Can I restore a backup of these on any iOS version or do I need to have the same iOS version that i had on those iPhones?

You can restore the backups to a device running the same or a newer iOS version, but not an older one. For example, if a backup was made from iOS 8.2, it can be restored to a device running 8.2 or 8.3, but not 8.1.3 or earlier.
