Drag the margins to the position you wish (the actual margin width sould display as you are doing this).

  • More currencies in iPad Numbers?

    Hi,
I live in Nicaragua...unfortunately there is no Cordoba (our currency) symbol available in the currency format...is there any way to add additional currencies?
    Thanks!

The only way to get more functionality in any of the apps is to contact the maker of the app, in this case apple. I suggest going to www.apple.com/feedback and letting them know what you would like to see.

  • How add new currency symbol in pages 5.1?

i couldnt find a way to custom add new currency symbol to pages or numbers. If anyone knows how to do, let me know. Thanks.

Are you talking about in Tables?
The list seems to be the list.
In Pages '09 there is more flexibility you can have a Custom format and add your own prefix.

  • Missing currency symbol: CHF

Hi - Has anyone figured out how to edit the list of currency symbols?
I need to write an invoice in Swiss Francs and all I get in the provided list is "SwF" (does anybody actually use that?) - the symbol I'm looking for reads "CHF". I'm hoping Apple will update that in the next version - but is there a possibility for me to enter a new symbol in the meantime?
Please do let me know if you hava an idea. Many thanks!

    Update to my previous post:
After studying macfreek.nl's hint, messing around with various settings, figuring out how to escape non-printing Unicode characters, executing obscure Terminal commands, re-editing plist files (Pref Setter rules!) etc. etc., this is what I've found out:
    • There was no way to change the default currency symbol in Numbers.app 1.0 from "SFr." to "Fr ", no matter what I did. I even searched inside the Numbers.app package, found nothing. (I didn't install Numbers.app 1.0.1 yet.)
The other things are actually slightly off-topic, i.e. not related to Numbers.app:
    • Following the hints mentioned above it should be possible to change the currency symbol to "Fr " (or whatever) in most other applications. Just avoid to change your setting in the International PrefPane back to the default Swiss format.
    • The cause of the "Leading zero for seconds missing" bug lies somewhere else than I thought, although I haven't found the exact cause. I have found a way how to avoid it, though: After you have set your time format in the International PrefPane to the default "Schweiz" format and you'd like to get rid of the ubiquitous and superfluous " Uhr" suffix, click on the button to adjust the time format, remove the "vorm." and "nachm." suffixes and don't change anything else in there.
To check if your Mac suffers the leading zero bug, launch Script Editor and paste the following code:
    +tell current application+
    repeat
    +get current date+
    +delay 1+
    +end repeat+
    +end tell+
Enable the Event Log and let the script run for a while, it will print the current time in the Event Log window every second. If the time you get is like "14:01:05", all is fine. If you get "14:01:5", there's the bug.
    • Actually there was a bug in Swiss German Date formats, too, I just don't remember how to reproduce it anymore (I noticed it last year). All I recall is, that carbon apps weren't able to show a short date format like "29.9.07", they would always show the full year like "29.9.2007". I'm not sure what I've changed since then.
    • When you set your Date format to Swiss German, for example FileMaker 9 reads the system date format as "29/09/2007" instead of "29.09.2007". Doesn't happen if you use the German German date/time/number formats.
I have written an AppleScript for my personal use to run a couple of "defaults write" Terminal commands to set quickly some of my favorite International number/time/currency formats in case they'd get lost again. I just need to tweak the script a bit more so it will give the average user more choices of what (s)he needs to change - since I don't expect everyone to like my personal Swiss formats...
When it's ready for the public, it will be available at http://www.loukash.com/en/download/sub06.html and at macupdate.com

  • Using Apple IOS Numbers on my iPod Touch 4th gen, where would I find... ummm... let's say b200?

Using Apple IOS Numbers on my iPod Touch 4th gen,
where would I find... ummm... let's say b200??
I use the row numbers and column alphabet all the time, and yet they don't appear on the IOS5 version of Numbers.
This is kinda short-sighted, isn't it? On the desktop version they show up just by clicking on a cell.

Yeah, we in the real world call it stupid design.
I discovered a real stupid, stupid, stupid way of seeing the header columns and the row numbers. You need to select a cell, and double tap it and the keypad pops up, at the top of the keypad window is a black wide tool button-bar with "42", "a clock symbol ", a "T" and an "="  The "42" stands for numbers, stars dollar signs, ±, etc. The "Clock symbol" is to put in days, hours, minutes... that sort of thing. The "T" is for words. AND the "=" is for formulas and stuff. HOWever, when you selct the "=" the column header (ABC...etc) and the Row numerators appear! Done so you CAN select certain column and rows to include those certain cells for calculations.
What a crappy design, right? Must be an engineer without any human interface design skills whatsoever who designed THIS Numbers for ios GUI... you have to hunt through crap to find the simplest of spreadsheet information. A real human interface designer would have made it easy option (for aesthetic reasons or "save space" Hah. Save space on a spreadsheet... why do you think they call them SPREADsheets anyway?).
And while we are on the Stupid, Engineer-Minded GUI, whose idea was to make you shake your ios device to "UNDO"?  There is plenty of space where the title "Spreedsheets"  and 3 toolbar buttons are located at the top of the spreadsheet workspace for a simple ø <--(circle with a line symbol)
This Numbers for IOS needs a big retooling.

  • Trying to figure out easiest formula to use in iOS Numbers

To all you smart function Guru's. Looking for help to see if this can be done.
All help will be greatly appreciated here. Using Numbers on the iPad.
My situation. In the "Pick Up" box I select a location from a drop down, it then puts in a numerical figure in the "HOE 1" box from the HOE Chart. (Easy part).
Now once I "Pick Up" I then select a "Drop Off" location (it will only be a few different locations) and want that to pick a numerical figure, depending on "Pick Up" and "Drop Off" location selected, from the HOE Chart and input the numerical value into HOE 2 box. This is the problem. I want it to look also at the "Pick Up" location to select the correct altitude for the "drop off". i.e. I depart my standard location and I pick up from  Citrus Mem Hosp and I am going to Shands (as in  the picture) I need it to select the Altitude from the HOE Chart that corresponds to the Drop Off leg (HOE 2).
Pick Up Location selects from B Column (HOE Chart) HOE 1 altitude is picked from D column (HOE Chart).
Drop Off HOE 2 would be picked from E, F or G Columns (F & G not completed yet) of the HOE Chart.
I am not a novice in using Excel or charts but am a novice when it comes to complex functions. Please spell out some of the function with your reply.
Again ALL Help is greatly appreciated.

    Wayne,
Thanks for helping and I think you are on the right track. The formula works in iOS Numbers with a little tweaking with 1 problem. Why Apple can have the programs work the same is beyond me but hey, I am a Windows guy so I won't complain.
The problem is that, and its probably my fault in the way I asked. I need the Drop Off (Table "Location" B2) to select from the HOE Chart either Columns E, F, or G (possibly an H in the future) of the Pickup Locations ROW (Highlighted in Blue for this example)
    example.
I leave my location (always the same) and go to Pickup Location = Citrus Mem Hosp. HOE 1 gives me altitude from highlighted Row + Column D (HOE Chart).
Now the complex part (to me)
I depart Citrus Mem Hosp (pick up location) and I am going to Shands (Column E (HOE Chart)) so I select that from my drop down list in "Drop Off" location(location table), I need HOE 2 (hoe table) box to give me the Altitude for Row (Citrus Mem Hosp) + Column E (Shands Column). If I select Orlando or Tampa Columns I would need it to select that altitude for the same Row.
I hope this explains it a little better and the pictures outline it a little more.
Your equation selected (once I input the correct Hospital name in my Drop off Location list) the altitude as if I was going from that location to GNV (Shands).
I hope this can be done as it would make our lives a lot easier and help us get in the air quicker.
Again Thank you for your help and time.
P.S. We just moved to Florida from Corpus Christi. Been up in your parts quite a few times.

  • € Euro Currency symbol in ActiveSync password not working.

Are there any known issues when using the € Euro Currency symbol as a password for ActiveSync on an iOS device? It appears ActiveSync does not accept the  € Euro Currency symbol when used in a password sent from an iPad/iPhone.
Are there any known issues with special characters and ActiveSync?
    Thanks for your help.
    Regards,
    Dennis

ActiveSync was developed for Windows.  You'd have to know what code page the Windows device was using to make sure you understood how the character should be coded.
Generally speaking, I wouldn't use any character in a password that didn't have an ASCII code.  We've even had trouble with accented characters.

  • Currency Symbol in Project Server 2007

    Hi,
Is it possible to change the currency symbol resource wise in Project Server 2007?
I need a resource rate to be in INR and another resource rate should be in GBP.
    K.Gokulraj

Yes you're correct. All enterprise resources on server's project will have the currency defined in the server settings.
Actually the options doesn't mean that more than 1 currency can be used in the projects, but that projects can be published with another currency than the one defined in the PWA server settings. Note also that you'll be warned (see screenshot below) of enterprise
projects with a different currency due to the fact that it can cause redition issues.
I'd suggest to convert the non-standard rate into the enterprise currency. You might add a resource custom to give the information on the resource native currency.
    Hope this helps.

  • Display Currency Symbol disabled, but symbol prints if currency in a text formula.  Why?

Our Crystal Report displays money fields (from our SQL database).
Our Crystal Reports Designer has the Display Currency Symbol feature disabled by default when writing reports.
On one report we have a Sell_Amount currency field to display:
We have this Sell_Amount field directly on the report in one section.
We also have this Sell_Amount field in a formula for printing in a different section.  This formula is defined as a text field as it will either display 'No Charge' or the Sell_Amount based on a condition, such as:  If {NoCharge} Then 'No Charge' Else ToText(Sell_Amount)
When viewing this report on our development machine in Crystal Designer, the Currency Symbol does not show for either the Sell_Amount field that is directly on the report or for the Sell_Amount that is in the formula (I am guessing because we have the Display Currency Symbol disabled).
When viewing on a runtime machine (no Designer, just runtime components), the formula (if NoCharge = False) displays the Sell_Amount (in the formula) WITH the currency symbol, but the Sell_Amount that is directly on the report (not in the formula) does not display the currency symbol.  Why?
This has been an issue ever since were were on Crystal 8 way back when.  We have never found (nor asked) for a reason, but now we need to know the reason/rules, etc. for this.  We are currently on Crystal 2008 SP6 (Designer) and deploying Crystal Reports Developer for Microsoft Visual Studio SP6 runtime components.  As I said, this has been an issue for years, but we now need an explanation.  I have not been able to locate one on the site anywhere.  Can you please explain the rules of Currency Symbol in this scenario?
    Thank you.

    Hi NB,
I did say to use the Advanced editor but I did not say to use it for attaching the report...
So to be clear here is what I see in the report Designer ( I put the formula into text boxes also ):
For the NoDatabaseCurrency field you have to set the currency to Fixed, Floating will add a space:
Which is opposite of what you originally posted:
"...Our Crystal Reports Designer has the Display Currency Symbol feature disabled by default..."
It's not disabled by default, please explain?
As for using the CCUR() function the help file does show the Currency symbol is on by default:
    Examples
The following examples are applicable to both Basic and Crystal syntax:
    CCur (200.20)
In Crystal syntax this is equivalent to writing $200.20. In Basic syntax, CCur (200.20) is the way to directly create a Currency value of 200.20.
    CCur ("$200.20")
Returns the Currency value CCur (200.20) given the String value "$200.20".
    CCur ("two hundred dollars")
Causes an error to occur. The CCur function cannot convert the String "two hundred dollars" to a Currency value.
So if you mean you went into the Options menu and Fields, Currency and check off this option:
[Update] - After testing this a few times it does retain the Options, current, Display Currency Symbol, so creating a new report the option is unchecked.
You are correct, even though I checked it off when I create a new report the option is checked on and obviously it's still on for each field and object. This may be a bug, testing more and checking with a few more people and eventually R&D.
So please clarify the steps you are doing?
Make sure you are running CR Designer under local PC Admin rights, right click on the short cut and select run as Administrator or check this option on:
    Thanks

  • How to set currency symbol correctly in crystal report

    Hi all,
I am using the Crystal Report 2008, I have one issue regarding the currency symbol in the crystal report.
it seems the CrystalReport use the System Default currency symbol. e.g.
    ProductA Cost: $1000
    It displays,
    ProductA Cost: £1000
in euro locale and $ in english locale
It doesn't make sense in business. The question is how do we set the currency symbol "$" to the report? I google some websites, the SetLocaleInfo may be one option, I would like to know the detail and if there are more solutions.
    Thanks for your help

Before in our legacy application, we used Crystal Report 9 & VB
    'Crystal Report Designer Components (RDC).
    Set CrxApp As New CRAXDRT.Application
I can set the crxapp to nothing and recreate this design component.
    Set CrxApp = nothing
After SetLocaleInfo, if we set the CrxApp to nothing, it will create the RDC and the currency symbol will be updated.
Now we are using Crystal Report 2008 and C#, the RDC is not supported in 2008
    What can I do?
    Any input is greatly appreciated.

  • Currency symbol not displayed

    Hi All,
I am using crystalreports-javasdk-11.8.8 for generating Crystal Reports in java. We don't have any issue in generating reports but the generated reports contain doesn't contain the Currency symbol.
I have set the locale using below code.
    reportClientDocument = new ReportClientDocument();
                reportClientDocument.setLocale(Locale.getDefault());
                reportClientDocument.open(reportFilePath, 0);
In the Report, the Numberic Format is System Default.
    Currency Symbol is $
    Questions:
    1. Why Currency symbol is not dispalyed?
    2. I have missed any configuration?
    3. How the currency symbol is set based on the Locale?
    Details:
Sql Server 2005 used. Database feild is Money.

  • Remove currency symbol from currency cell format?

This might seem like an odd question but I only want my top row to have the currency symbol and the rest of the rows to simply have the number with no currency. I know I can switch the cell format to Numbers but then I lose the formatting of how negative numbers are displayed (quotation marks versus the negative symbol).
So, is there any way to simply remove the currency symbol from the currency cell format?

    Hello
As the special format for negatives is only meaningful for currencies you can't get if if you disable the currency format.
There is an alternate way to highlight negatives but I don't know if you would be satisfied with it.
Select the cells whose format must be number, not currency.
    Open the Inspector of Cells
    Check "Conditional Format"
    Click "Show Rules"
Of course, you may select an other color.

  • Currency Symbol (£) Appearing As Question Mark

Does instant client support currency symbols other than the dollar?
On machines running the full client our application works fine. On machines using 10.2.0.2 instant client (have also tried using 10.1 IC) pound signs are appearing as ? Have spent a lot of time trying to get around this without any luck. On login the session is being altered to use UK territory and currency is being set to £ as a backup, but still it refuses to work.
Looking at v$nls_parameters on the machines show the same thing - territory set correctly, but currency and dual currency are questionmarks.
Both the thin and full client show the same characterset and nchar, just the currency is incorrect on the IC machines.
    Any ideas / help appreciated.

Are you using the normal Instant Client or 'Instant Client Light' (e.g., assuming you use Linux, did you download instantclient-basic-linux32-10.2.0.2-20060331.zip or instantclient-basiclite-linux32-10.2.0.2-20060331.zip?
Instant Client Light will only support the following:
    * Language: US English
    * Territory: Any territory that is supported by Oracle
    * Character sets:
    o Single byte
    + US7ASCII
    + WE8DEC
    o Unicode
    + UTF8
    + AL16UTF16
    + AL32UTF8
    (see http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/install.102/b15662/pre_install.htm#sthref106).
If this is not your problem, then maybe you have a wrong setting somewhere.
    Let me clarify some things:
o You retrieve a character column that contains the £ character, right?
Then NLS_TERRITORY and NLS_LANGUAGE are irrelevant, they only have an
impact on display formats for numbers and messages and the like.
o When you say 'both installations show the same character set', do you mean
that 'SELECT VALUE FROM NLS_DATABASE_PARAMETERS WHERE
PARAMETER='NLS_CHARACTERSET' returns the same result in both cases?
That would mean nothing, as this is the database character set and NOT the
    client character set.
The setting that determines the client character set is the character set portion of the environment variable NLS_LANG.
To find out what is your problem, please investigate the following:
o Are you using Instant Client Light?
o What are the character set and national character set of the database?
o What is the value of the environment variable NLS_LANG on both client machines?
(If the full client installation is on Windows, also check the value in the Windows
    registry).
    Yours,
    Laurenz Albe

Well, I tried it. But it always deletes the space. So I used a formula and manually encoded the euro-symbol.
