IOS on standby switch

Hi.
I am running VSS on 4506-E switch with Supervisor 7L-E. Currently running IOS on both switches is "cat4500e-universalk9.SPA.03.05.03.E.152-1.E3.bin" which is latest one. I have been asked to run "cat4500e-universalk9.SPA.03.04.03.SG.151-2.SG3.bin" so i think i need to degrade IOS.
Since switches are running in cluster so copying image will be pasted into active switch. Pls tell me how could i do copy this into standby also.
Pls tell me if IOS "cat4500e-universalk9.SPA.03.04.03.SG.151-2.SG3.bin" is stable for VSS.
Also let me know if this support SSH login.

Once you copy the image into the active switch, you can copy it onto the standby unit by specifying the target as slavebootflash. e.g.:
copy bootflash:/cat4500e-universalk9.SPA.03.04.03.SG.151-2.SG3.bin slavebootflash:/
Once you have copied the image onto both supervisors, follow the procedure for upgrade / downgrade of a VSS described here.
I don't know personally of any stability issues with the 3.4(3) IOS-XE image - VSS or otherwise.
The "k9" in the image name indicates support for encryption which includes the ability to create an rsa key and configure ssh transport.

Netra t1 with solaris 9 fresh install on/standby switch

I recently installed solaris 9 onto my Netra 105 box. For the likes off me I can't figure out why the on/standby switch simply does not work since reinstalling. The only way I can power down the box is by literally unplugging it from the wall. I am a total newbie to Sun boxes (& solaris for that matter) & have had zero luck in finding any info specific info relating to this. Can some kind soul put me on the right track?

I have down precisely what you have recommended & the thing still won't go into standby. After executing poweroff from the LOM prompt It just sits there continually humming away. Yet it worked fine prior to the installation off solaris 9 from solaris 8. I have even reinstalled again, this time making sure to include the power management options. All reinstalls were done with the "initial installation" option.
Here is a screen dump off the unit booting & me executing the poweroff commnd:

This problem is annoying the hell out off me. Everyone I have spoken to hasn't even heard off this problem.

No. I have not Service contact?
A valid Cisco Service Contract is needed to download IOS from Cisco website. You may need to talk to your authorized Cisco reseller or the vendor who sold you the switch.

The Latest Version depends upon the Switching platform.
For example:
On 2900XL Platform - 12.0(5)WC15
On 2950 - 12.1(22)EA8
On 3500XL Platform - 12.0(5)WC15
On 3550 - 12.2(25)SEE2
It would be better if you specify the switch platform that you have questions about, so we could point you in the right direction.

Can I reinstall "Documents and data" in iOS 8 after switching off it?

I have not upgraded to iCloud Drive yet because I use an old Mac with Mavericks.
I've switched off the "Documents and data" option in Settings/iCloud, but when I've wanted to switch on it, that option has dissapeared.
I don't want to upgrade to iCloud Drive now, I just want to see my iWork data in "Documents in the cloud" in my iOS 8 iWork. "Documents in the cloud" is working in the Mac.

This may be caused by a corrupt existing backup that needs to be deleted, or by data on your device that is causing the backup to fail. To troubleshoot these, try deleting your last iCloud backup (if you have one) by going to Settings>iCloud>Storage>Manage Storage, tap your device under Backups, then tap Delete Backup and choose Turn Off & Delete at the prompt. Then go to Settings>iCloud>Backup and turn iCloud Backup back on and try backing up again.
If it still won't back up, you may have an app or something in your camera roll that is causing the backup to fail. To locate which one, go to Settings>iCloud>Storage>Manage Storage, tap the name of your device under Backups, under Backup Options tap Show All Apps, then turn them all to Off (including camera roll) and try backing up again. If the backup is successful, then the camera roll and/or one of your apps is causing the backup to fail and you'll have to located by process of elimination. Turn the camera roll On and try backing up again. If it succeeds, turn some of your apps to On and try backing up again. If it succeeds again, turn some more apps to On then try again; repeat this process until it fails. Eventually you'll be able to locate the problem app and exclude it from your backup.

Play an audio on background in IOS on standby

Seems to be not possible for an Air app to play and audio file in background when iOS device is on STANDBY, I am trying a lot solutions without any luck.

Maybe some one know about a workaround or about the new SDK update because the app is not useful on IOS anymore.

I using SDK 16.0.0.222 for a little player app for a client that successfully plays in the background and sleep.
You need the following in your AS3 code :
NativeApplication.nativeApplication.executeInBackground = true;
The this in your XML:
<key>UIBackgroundModes</key>

<string>audio</string>
</array>
The only problem is there is slight "glitch" effect when going to the home screen or sleep. I am hoping someone has a work around for that.

Deploying ios in multiple switches at a time.

I have same series lan switches about 25 numbers and all of them are to be upgraded to the latest ios.
how do i do at time so that my work finishes smoothly.since the IOS in all of them will be same.
Any tips and workaround are appriciated.

I would do them one by one using the CLI.
25 is a small number (even if it seems large to you) of switches to upgrade so for peace of mind, I would be doing them one by one.
You can script things like this fairly easily but you increase the risk of potential issues.

Standby switch over problem

the primary DB switch_over status not turn to to-standby.

Why do you expect the switch over status to change after these two ALTER SYSTEM commands ?
Are you following some (Incomplete) Instructions / Note / Document ?
What is it that you are trying to do ?
What are the steps in the instructions that you are referring to ?

I have set up a data guard configuration with one primary database and one physical standby.
log apply services and log transfer services work correctly.but when i want to do as switchover operation,
the output of the following query is always ((session active))
select switchover_status from v$database.
i have only one session (/ as sysdba) on primary and one in standby.
where is the problem?

IOS fast app switching

I'm not sure if this issue is simply an IOS bug or something related to certain programs. That being said, after launching some programs for the first time (after reboot of iPad) and configuring it the way I like, most of the time when relaunching the app it will utilize the fast app switching feature of IOS and retain my customizations/views without having to reload the program in it's entirety. However after a period of time whether it be overnight or a few hours later when I relaunch the app it will completely reload the app - splash screen and all and force me to again customize my views. As often as I use these programs it becomes annoying. I was thinking that perhaps this was a bug in IOS 5.01 however after upgrading to 5.1 the behavior still exists.
I apprecaite any help!

This is likely one of 2 things... Either the developer hasn't coded it properly to work, or you are running up against a RAM wall. How many apps are you running at a time, and how many tabs do you have open in safari?

In addition, working with your local SE is a good idea, as they can offer you their design advice. I would like to upgrade IOS on 6509-E VSS switch. My SUP engine is Catalyst 6500 Series Supervisor Engine 2T.
Current OS : s2t54-advipservicesk9-mz.SPA.150-1.SY3.bin
To Upgrade OS : s2t54-advipservicesk9-mz.SPA.150-1.SY7a.bin
Procedure is as below.

1. Copy the IOS to primary supervisor card using the command "copy tftp:/IOS.bin bootdisk:"
2. Copy the IOS to the SECONDARY supervisor card using the command "copy tftp:/IOS.bin slave-bootdisk:"
3. Remove the old boot variable string using the command "NO boot system flash bootdisk:OLD_IOS.bin"
4. Add the new IOS file to the boot variable string using the command "boot system flash bootdisk:NEW_IOS.bin"
5. Config register is already 0X2102 so no need to change it. Reload after this.

Your procedure is what I always use.
You can optionally check the MD5 hash value of the IOS file you've downloaded from the Cisco website against the MD5 hash value found in the Cisco website.

Problema iphone 5 ios 6.1 switch 3G operatore 3ita

Dopo l'aggiornamento ad ios 6.1 sul mio iphone 5, ho riscontrato un problema legato al passaggio da 3G alla rete normale,
Mi spiego, per risparmiare batteria quando sono sotto copertura wifi, disattivo il 3G
Prima disattivando il 3G passava automaticamente a tim, dato che la 3 trasmette solo in frequenza umts,
Adesso con il nuovo aggiornamento disattivando i dati cellulare, il telefono non torna più a tim
Ma resta lo stesso su 3ita con una durata della batteria molto minore.
Anche rifiutando l'aggiornamento del gestore, e quindi lasciando lo switch 3G la situazione non cambia.
