IOS update, now no service

I bought an iPhone (5s) unlocked in the US about a year ago (i live in colombia) and since iOS 8 update i have "No service" on my phone. Apple support told me that the update deleted something on my phone and right now is locked by verizon...

I left my attitude, my good one, long behind with apple. I'm still ****** at them for not including my iBook PDF's Ina a backup (what the ****?) and losing them all in a restore. For the price premium, I expect more. Unfortunately, I'm locked into using Apple.
I wasn't looking for help, just venting and offering what had worked for me for the other unfortunate souls who might find themselves in the same predicament.

Yeah, i uninstalled itunes then reinstalled it again, just to make sure that i had the latest.
No something odd has happened over night, the battery went flat last night, so i put it on the charger for 12 hours. Then when i took it off this morning for 30 minutes the battery went flat again..

Hi all.
Another stellar Apple trip-up. I stupidly and blindly went ahead and updated my 3gs from 6.1.3 to.6, and the phone started back up, no service. Restarted, same thing. Restored, same thing. Did a search and found out that this was a big problem with the 6.1.3 update.
Long story short, if I turn off 3G, I get service. If I turn it on, no service.
Unlocked 3GS on AT&T gophone plan.
So tired of this.

Iphone 5 new update now no service

I have just updated my iphone 5 with the new version 6.0.1 , I now have no service an no 3g can anyone advise if they have had this or if there is a fix for it without recovering from a previous back up ?

Had to log into iTunes from my pc while connected via USB. Then about 15 mins later I was able to access iTunes through my phone. Not too sure what the problem was but it seems fine now? Hope that helped!

I just updated my iPhone to 4.2 and now my phone says no service, my number is showing unknown and network says not available. What do I do?

1. Turn off the phone. Take the SIM out. Put it back in. Turn on the phone.
2. Try resetting the phone: Hold the power/lock button and the home button at the same time until the Apple logo appears.
3. Get a new SIM.

I had an update for iOS and did It 4 hours ago, my phone has froze with the screen displaying iTunes and a USB. Have gone through apples trouble shooting but still the same. How do I sort this out?? Thanks

Try Recovery Mode
Put it in DFU mode:
Open iTunes on computer.
Connect iPhone to computer. (with the iPhone on)
Hold both home and power buttons for exactly 10 seconds, release power button, keep holding home button until iPhone recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode.
Usually takes 10-20 seconds of holding the home button.
If the iPhone screen is black (blank) the iPhone is in DFU Mode.
If not try again.

Help! I just tried to do an update on my iphone 3 (which was prompted when connecting to itunes) but now my phone wont work at all. It wont configure

NB: using that article will erase everything so make sure you have a backup
try restoring on another computer if this fails, and if that doesn't work either, the device needs hardware repair.

IOS updated & now missing...

so, this has been happening to my iPhones and iPad as well but after the firmware update, some songs & playlists goes missing on my devices. i've always sync & back up before hand but where does it go? i can get the songs by restore? what's the best way to get it back? i buy songs from itune japan & usa, amazon, ripped & recordings of local artists so i can't really just pop it on icloud or itunes match since i'll lose those not on itunes right? i hope someone or people can help this helpless out! thanks ^_^

If you can't find it on any of your homescreens or app folders, and you can't find it via the spotlight search screen (swipe your first home screen to the right), then is it hidden by Settings > General > Restrictions > Camera being set 'off' ?
If not then have you tried a reset to see if you can find it after the iPad has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Error 1604:
This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.

I upgraded to IOS 6 now I dont have any network service the status is stuck on searching, hence no connection... any suggestions???

Well yes and no. I found online that the 3GS phones do not suppoer IOS 6.0 so headed off down the ATT store. They confirmed this, so I set about telling them sob story, and how Apple had pushed this software update out to my phone automatically, and essentially fried it, bar a factory reset, which as you say, has its issues too. Thankfully I was upgrade eligible, and pushed a little further to find out what additional discount I could get since Apple had led me to get stuck in this mess. Got another $75 off, so upgraded. I'm still neervous to put the IOS 6.0 on it though - once bitten twice shy right? Somehow the back up on my PC of my 3GS essentially got wiped when I plugged in my new iPhone, even though I gave it a different name, which sucked, as I' m now in the process of trying to get back all my contacts.
The 4.0 iPhone will essentially encounter the same thing with the IOS 7.0 upgrade, whenever that happens, so if I were you I'd suck up the cost and upgrade.

Even if it is a hardware problem they should fix it regardless of warranty. If you buy a car and after 1.5 years the doors fall off due to a failure in their design and construction, do you think the car manufacturer could pull off what Apple is trying to do? Yes the car still delivers its primary objective of driving from A to B, but significant functionality has been lost due to their fault.
It is the same with this iPhone wifi problem. Apple are a disgrace, I have had significant Apple Hardware failures with my MacBook Pro and iPhone within 2 years of purchase. Pathetic quality.

Every time i connect it to itunes all it says is "There is no SIM card installed in the iphone you are attempting to activate." Even thought there is a sim card connected in my phone.

Is the SIM from a supported carrier?
Is the device carrier locked, officially unlocked, or hacked to be unlocked?
Has the SIM been reseated? If not, try that.
Also, basic troubleshooting is reset, restart, restore. Has any of that been tried?
