IOS v8.1.2 on an old iPhone 4S...
Hi all.
How is the (new/lat)est iOS v8.1.2 on an old iPhone 4S? Is it really slower than v7.1.2 from various online sources? Are there any known issues on it? I assume v8.1.2 have most of the major issues worked out by now. I am thinking of upgrading it later during the Christmas 2014 vacation/break just in case anything goes wrong during the major software upgrade. I know iOS can't be downgraded if there are problems or do not like it.

I used to have an iPhone 3GS, which I recently upgraded to iOS 5 and sold. This device doesn't have any of my personnal information inside anymore (several resets and reinstall iOS5 from an blank iTunes on a seperate computer) and doesn't have my chip inside anymore.
I am using a new smartphone (not Apple) now and when I text friends who have iPhone (with iOS 5 and iMessage), I receive some of the personnal responses on the old iPhone. It seems those messages are sent through iMessage...
How to avoid that? I sold this iPhone and I don't want the buyer to receive my personnal message + I don't want to miss them on my new phone!

Franck.I would suggest you read the user guide. There IS no Facetime App for the iPhone.

How can i get my old iphone to download cloud ios
I use my old iphone as an ipod. Now that I have switched to the cloud, all of my music has disappeared from the unit. I was able to complete it successfuly on my iphone, but not the older iphone. How can I get the new os on my old phone so I can have music again.
Enabling an iCloud account alone on an iOS device does not remove music.
iOS 5 is compatible with the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, and iPhone 4S.
If your old iPhone is an iPhone 3G, you cannot install iOS 5 on it. -
How do I restore the back up from my old iPhone 5 which is IOS 8.1.3 to my new iPhone 6 which is IOS 8? It's not coming up as an available back up restore option? Am I able to set up as a new iPhone and then update the new phone to IOS 8.1.3 and then restore from my old iPhone 5 back up at that stage?
Setup your new phone, then update to iOS 8.1.3. Once done: Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings". At the setup screen you'll now be able to select your old phone's backup.

I have tried to restore my old iPhone 3, but when i tried the itunes logo and a pic of a USB cable have come up on my phone and now i cant do anything with my phone.Any ideas how i can fix this? Apple only allows updating to the current version of iOS for the device. For the iPhone4 and later that is currently iOS7.0.4.
There is no reason to not upgrade to the current version. -

The Kindle reader requires iOS 7. If you have an older version of it you can still install it, but if you don't there is no way to get the older version.

Apple, can you say why do you like to "kill" old iPhones??? i'am dissapointed. Please, fix IOS 8 on iPhone 4s and provide ability to have IOS 6 on iPhone 4. IOS 7 and 8 are awful laggy IOS versions on this devices.

I have an old iPhone 3 gs. with ios 3.1.3. how can i update it to at least an ios 5 because it will not let me get games on the app store because the ios is so low.
Update it from iTunes on a computer as described at the bottom of this article; there isn't a Software Update option in General on iOS versions prior to 5.0. It can only be updated directly to the newest iOS release supported by the device’s hardware, which is iOS 6.1.6 for an iPhone 3GS.
