IOS Wallpaper Scale/Zoom Issue Returns in iOS 7.1

Is anyone experiencing the photo zoom/scale for wallpaper issue again where they cannot fit scale down the photo subjects to fit into the iPad's frame?
This used to be fixed by turning off the Parallax effect via Settings > General > Accessibility > Reduce Motion ON
However, it seems like Apple has broken it again.
Can anyone else confirm this? I just tried changing wallpaper on iOS 7.1 and cannot get the photo to fit as if I was looking at it from the Photos App.

Nope, it's broken for me. Images with resolutions much larger than the iPads native resolution won't scale down. You can easily scale up, just not down. It's very aggravating that this remains an issue in 7.1
And, I'm sick of hearing people say it's working when it doesn't. It's not just my device. I've confirmed it on numerous devices new and old, iPhone and iPad. Not being able to scale an image down when you could prior to iOS7 is not "better". Losing capability is not "better".

It's not possible to zoom out. Not that I know of anyway. Sorry! However, you can screenshot your picture to fit it to your screen size. Hope it helps.

This is a bit puzzling
A freind asked me for help with his iPads his & his wifes
They both have 16gb wifi +3g with retina display they dont use the 3g they keep it switched off
After the ios 6.0.1 update they got this mad problem.
When they first turn on their ipads not from sleep but switching on they cant slide to open until the screen goes to sleep, when I looked it seems a though its freezing until the screen goes off, but by pressing the home button it would make the screen turn off then pressing it again you could open it it worked fine after that.
Thing is when they're not using them they power them down to save battery they like the fact the battery lasts for days without charging
I thought a quick reset would do the trick, nope i then did a full reset in iTunes holding the home & power button putting into recovery, nope still didnt fix it as it was both i did them both that didnt solve it either
I sent them up to the local Apple store where they tried this also, they ended up swapping them this fixed the problem for a while
Both iPads they replaced had ios 6,0 on them, his wife updated hers first to 6.0.1 this worked fine but when he updated his the issue returned.
His wifes worked ok for a day then it came back the only difference was when they updated on his wifes one on set up they selected not to use Siri where he did, so we put it back into recovery mode then didnt select Siri on set up but this didnt fix it either
Finally i get to why i think its the router it seems to be freezing while trying to connect to the network its the only thing common to both ipads after the update they didnt restore from any backup or even plug them into itunes
I know its a long one i apologize so thanks for reading

I feel your pain. Since updating to 6.0.1 I've had various problems, like the phone spontaneously rebooting itself when I move home screen icons. But the most egregious is the problem of not being able to be heard by callers. I discovered that if I switched to speaker I was able to be heard.
There was no physical damage to the phone and the Genius said diagnostics showed it was a software problem. They replaced the phone because no troubleshooting methods worked. Then with the new phone I had the problem of the app store crashing each time it tried to access Purchases, another software problem. Apple replaced the phone again.
When the Apple Genius helped me set up the new Phone, I chose to set it up as new and not update the iOS from 6 to 6.0.1. It has been working without a glitch so far. I will avoid syncing with iTunes until I'm confident the bugs are worked out of 6.0.1.
Btw this is the 4th iPhone 4s I've had within a year due to defect Things appear to be going downhill with Apple products.

Ipad 3rd generation, iOS 8, home button issue, with fix

I have seen a lot of iOS 8 home button issues on phones but not much on the iPad. But I started having problems right away. Clicking would not get be back to the home screen. Clicking did not get me out of program. It was all intermittent too.
I found a good you tube video about ipad home button issues. First I tried recalibrating the home button. You hold the power switch down till you get the slider to turn off the iPad. then let go and hold down the home button till the screen changes. that seemed to fix most of the problems for a couple hours. But then it came back.
Next tried putting a drop of isopropyl Alcohol on my finger tip and pushed down and up on the outside edge of the home button, all around the circumference. Then did the cal again. That seems to have worked permanently.
iOS 8 is still slow but I guess everyone has that on anything older than a year.

IOS 8.1+ Performance Issue

I encountered a serious performance bug in Adobe Air iOS application on devices running iOS 8.1 or later. Approximately in 1-2 minutes fps drops to 7 or lower without interacting with the app. This is very noticeable in the app. The app looks like frozen for about 0.5 seconds. The bug doesn't appear on every session.
Devices tested: iPad Mini iOS 8.1.1, iPhone 6 iOS 8.2. iPod Touch 4 iOS 6 is working correctly.
Air SDK versions: 15 and 17 tested.
I can track the bug using Adobe Scout. There is a noticeable spike on frame time 1.16. Framerate drops to 7.0. The App spends much time on function Runtime overhead. Sometimes the top activity is Running AS3 attached to frame or Waiting For Next Frame instead of Runtime overhead.
The bug can be reproduced on an empty application having a one bitmap on stage. Open the app and wait for two minutes and the bug should appear. If not, just close and relaunch the app.

I just can't send a new message from scratch to a non iOS user :-s

IOS 8.1 WiFi issues on iPad Air

Dear Apple Support Community,
I wonder, if anyone else has the same issue as me:
If I don't use my iPad Air I turn the Fly Mode on. If I use it I turn it off and the iPad is connecting itself to my WiFi network. After some seconds the WiFi connection is interrupted and it taked some seconds to definitely connects itself again and finally to the WiFi network.
My iPhone 5s (iOS 8.1) or my MacBook Pro (OS X 10.10) do not have this issue.
Also my WiFi connection is good and stable. The issue appears since my iPad Air uses iOS 8.

It sounds like you are tryinb to update your iPad through iTunes but it keeps failing. I'd recommend you use the troubleshooting in this article to help figure out the issue here:

So... I don't want to do that, but I do what to be able to Manage my music. I'm not sure what it means by being synced to another iTunes unless it means to an older version of itunes?

I cannot address the sync services error right now, but the error that you receive when you change from sync to manually manage music is what happens when you change. Once you change to manually manage music, it erases all of the music and will only put the music that you want on the phone, content that you manually drag over to it. I bought a Sandisk Connect Media Drive, downloaded the app from iTunes. Before iOS 8, movies played fine. After iOS upgrade I can no longer play movies downloaded from iTunes to the media drive. Anyone else have a similar issue?

I checked with SanDisk's own online support and they indicate that they have notified Apple of the issue.
According to SanDisk, the problem lies with Apple not having the iOS 8 version of the Safari browser having DRM decoding enabled that the Media Drive relies upon to decode and play iTunes DRM titles. Non DRM encoded videos will play in the browser.
DRM audio is not effected as this is handled by the native iOS music app.
As of the date of this post SanDisk have not been given a timeframe by Apple for this issue to be resolved.
I hope that Apple resolves this issue quickly as I have a large collection of DRM video titles on a 128Mb memory card installed in the Media Drive that I am unable to view.

Help solving iOS iTunes video app issue

hello all,
i have a weird issue on my iOS devices vs my Apple TV and Mac Mini running Yosemite. All my devices are updates to the latest OSs.
the issue is, whenever I purchase or redeem a movie. It is always ready for streaming from the cloud on my Apple TV and Mac Mini.
but on my iPad 4 and iPhone 5s that same movie takes days and sometimes over a week to show up in the video app for streaming. Yes I do know I can download the movie. But why does it take so long to populate on my iPhone and iPad vs my Apple TV and Mac??
can anyone help me resolve this issue?

I am having the same problem. I downloaded purchased workout videos onto my iMac then I transfer them to my iPad and hook it up to my TV. It worked great on iOS6 but now I can't see the chapters on iOS7. The workout videos are under Home Videos Tab and there is no way to see the chapters.
Have you found any solutions to this? a different app? Soooooo frustrating!

IOS 8.3 Airplay issue

I have an iPad Air 2 and iPhone 6+, both are upgraded to iOS 8.3 recently.
I've noticed when I am using Airplay to watch web content, usually a short video on a web page, the airplay would gut out randomly (every 3-5 minutes or so). When this happens, the video continues to play on the iPad or iPhone, but seems Airplay connection was dropped. Before the upgrade, those videos were playing on my apple tv streaming from my iPad Air 2 and iPhone 6+ perfectly. I did check my apple TV software, it says no update available.
Anyone else have seen this issue, or have reported similar issue to Apple? Looks like an iOS 8.3 specific issue to me.

In particular from the section titled If your playback is interrupted, or you have network lag -
You might notice these issues if you have a weak Wi-Fi signal or interference from a different device, like a microwave or baby monitor. Try these steps:
Make sure that you're using the recommended settings for your Wi-Fi router.
Move or turn off other devices that might cause interference.
Try connecting your Apple TV directly to the router using an Ethernet cable instead of Wi-Fi.
Some apps might stop AirPlay when you lock your device or put your device to sleep.

SMTP Server (port 25) issues on iPhone - IOS 4.1, 4.2.1

I use an IMAP email account Administered by my company ( I'am administrator in linux/freebsd, etc) and i have it set-up on my iPhone 4 (factory unlocked and NOT jailbreak). The incoming mail server works fine on wifi and 3G Both But the smtp server only works on wifi. If I Attempt to send a message while on 3G Attempts to send the phone for about 5/10/15... and never sent.
perform a downgrade to version 4.1 and the problem remains. Before ios 4.0.1 had no problems.
Testing:
I jailbreak (in 4.1) (only for install net commands in console), install console and "telnet smtp.mycompany.com 25" and time out, but turn wifi and connect; "ping smtp.mycompany" is ok.
Set wifi on, try "telnef smtp.mycompany.com 25" is ok !!!, turn wifi of, try 3G same problem, time out.
Restore no jailbreak 4.1 and try and same problem, restore 4.2.1 no jailbreak and same problem. Try change sim (personal to movistar) and same problem.
BUT!!!!!!! a try:
1) Change in my company smtp server port 25 to 587 (in really dnat 587 to 25).
2) set in my iphone smtp server new port 587 (same smtp server, but ONLY change port)
and ok !!!
I try, jailbreak, install console, telnet smtp.mycompany.com 587 is ok !!!!...
Where is the problem ios 4.1 / 4.1.2 smtp server port 25 ???????
Ios 4.1 / 4.2.1 very very many problems in 3G data in all applications.

Webvpn Apple IOS 6 iphone ipad issue

Hello - We finally released our Webvpn configuration out to our users and the site was working well. We are setup as follows
1) Single Group Policy
2) Single Custom Homepage that all users hit when accessing the site
The site works fine from all Devices: Mac, Windows, Safari, Chrome, Firefox, IE
All Apple Devices on IOS 5 work correctly
Since a few users have upgraded to IOS 6 they login correctly but reach a blank white page. As you login you can see the top address bar flash then go away.
Has anyone else run into the same problems? This is an issue with the Cisco code becasue we have since hosted our custom page externally and those same ipads/iphones can access it correctly. Thanks for any ideas.

We tested the site on the following devices on both Wifi and 3G. It did not matter what type of connection all IOS 6 devices had the blank page issue. The IOS 5.1.1 devices displayed the site fine. Hosting our custom homepage outside the ASA - All devices (IOS 6 and 5.1.1) displayed fine. I'm not sure if there is code on the ASA that detects user agents etc. But since upgrade IOS 6 seems to be the issue. Thanks for any help.

i completely lost access to mail after installing iOS 6.0.1. It won't even open now.

So to confirm, you have done the following?
1- Hard Reset device.
2- Restarted device.
3- Reset Network Settings.
4- Reset All Settings
5- Restored as New and then trialed issues without having ANY person data on the device.
If you HAVE done all those steps, then have device replaced.
If you have NOT done all those steps, do them, then let us know what happens when they have been done, possibly in a less pretentious and ranting way, realising that a) we are fellow users, we have no control over the situation, so complaining to us does nothing to help you, and b) Dropping game titles and using the FAR too used "Steve Jobs must be..." line does not give you the appearance of intelligence, but someone who's phone doesn't do what they want it to do, and thinks they're the center of the universe because of it.
We realise that there are thousands of results when you search "iOS 6.0.1 issues" in google, but what YOU have to realise is that the results will include duplicate results within single threads, are related to multiple different devices, and in some times use a VERY loose search terms (you may find results like "What issues do you think will be in iOS 6.0.1" as a forum thread) because you have made a broad search.

No. From the iOS 7 features page:
Panorama format is available on iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, and iPod touch (5th generation). Square and video formats and swipe to capture are available on iPhone 4 or later, iPad (3rd generation or later), iPad mini, and iPod touch (5th generation).
Sorry, but if you want those features, you'll need a newer iPhone.
