ios3 is installed on my iPAD (1). How do I upgrade to ios4, since itunes has only ios5 ? I don't want to upgrade iPad to ios5 as I am afraid it might slow down or make my ipad unusable ? Thanks in advance for your input.

Might I try to reassure you that updating to iOS 5 is perfectly safe? The early bugs of iOS 5.0 were mostly worked out in 5.0.1, and that is the only version you can download as Apple only offers the latest version that is compatible with your device.
I have updated 4 devices to iOS 5 with no problems.

    They are not in the iTunes Store on your iPad, they are synced to the Videos App. Look for movies in there, not in the iTunes Store.

    Having a bad day my iTunes library got corrupted and my back up disk has failed how can I restore my purchases from the iTunes store? When I try it tells me the pruchases have already been downloaded to this computer.

    Does your purchased rmusic appears under the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) ? If they do and you don't have the cloud symbol against them so as to re-download them, then do you still have the entries for them in your library i.e. where you would normally click on them to play them ? If you do then try deleting them from there (iTunes will be seeing them and assuming that you still have them somewhere) and they should then get the cloud symbol for re-downloading in the Purchased link.
    If you aren't in a country where music can be re-downloaded then you could try contacting iTunes support and see if they will grant you a re-download : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page,

    In iTunes 11 how do you get Genius recommendations from the iTunes store. It would appear that I can only get Genius recommendations from my own library. This was easy in iTunes 10 and enabled me to find lots of good artists I had never heard of.

    Basically it seams they got rid of the whole side bar concept of things to make it all more streamline, understandable but I know atleast for myself that genius sugestion for any song is how I found new artists and songs I never knew existed.
    If you go to the Album the go to "In the Store" it will give you a recomendation for that album... not exaclty what you might be looking for but atleast its something, if anyone else has a way to get genius sugestions for individual songs I am all ears and would love to hear about it.

    Uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes does not create duplicates.
    Only the user importing content multiple times creates duplicates.
    Delete the duplicates and stop importing the same content multiple times.

    It sounds like you might be trying to sync HD videos to your iPod classic.
    HD videos purchased from the iTunes Store are compatible with iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), Apple TV, and computers. You may need to download your purchased video from iTunes in the Cloud in a lower resolution for your device.

    My songs in the iTunes store are showing up with the artist John Powers. That is my name. There seems to be another musician called John Powers, and our songs seem to be grouped together. I feel bad for the guy, as he seems quite clean-cut and my songs are all a bit... edgy. Is there any way to clarify that there is another artist also called John Powers, or will my songs forever be linked to his through our common name?

I cannot find anywhere on the iTunes Store website to add our performing ensemble as an artist that has their recordings available in the iTunes Store.

    I have been trying to download previously purchased Audiobooks from the itunes store to my new computer and ipad. I tried calling the apple help line but they want me to spend $69.99 for the help plan. these purchases are over a year old and on my old ipod now i want them on my new devices.     Are you running the most current version of iTunes? If you are, you should be able to go into the iTunes Store, and click on Purchased under the Quick Links. (You have to be signed on, and the computer has to be authorized to do this). Once you have selected the Purchased from the Quick Links, you should see a tab for Books - your audiobooks should show up there and be available for downloading.
    This is all assuming that you sync'd those books to the iTunes library on your computer. If you have not, you will need to sync the iPod first....

    I did that experiment in the iTunes Store, Amazon MP3, and Google Play Music.  Interesting result:  none of them allow the resizing of columns.
    However, if you are unhappy with the iTunes Store, there are definitely other options out there.  You an buy an MP3 from any online music download store and add it to your iTunes library.
