IOS4.0.1 stopped my Onkyo TX-SR607

I was really surprised when I was able to control my Spotify, on my Iphone with the remote, mounted in a cradle to my Onkyo TX-SR607, after the update to iOS4. But after the update to iOS4.0.1 was again not able to start and stop Spotify.
I don't recommend updating if you are using remote control of other player than the Ipod.

My NVIDIA panel connector drop down still does not allow HDMI-HDTV(audio enabled) choice, however on the Win-8 control panel, sound playback panel I found I could display deleted devices and there the Onkyo TX SR607 showed up, so I was able to set it as default, after shutting down and restarting the receiver, and with great relief got sound on our home entertaiment system!.
Also NVIDIA HDMI Output (Port 1) still says not plugged in . I would be curious to know where this sound channel is useful and how to get it to work, but my immediate problem is now solved!
Also, on my previous HP computer I was running Realtek HDMI sound card. Anyone know if the NVIDIA sound is equivalent or not? Should I be installing a separate sound card?

Headset & iphone 3GS & iOS4

Since i updated my iphone 3GS to ios4, my headset does not work properly. When i put both to recharge i no longer see the headset recharge figure on the iphone. When i try to use the headset with iphone the headset answer bottom does not act as is.
Is anyone having this problem? Does the headset need any firmware update or something else?

I just updated my iPhone 3GS to iOS4 and I am facing the exact same problem. My apple provided headset/earphones that were working perfectly fine before iOS4 update have stopped working now - I can listen to music and talk, but all the other functions like pause, go to next song etc dont work any more.
Apple, please address this issue. It's frustrating not to be able to use the earphone functions when they were working just fine before the iOS4 update.

Apple Composite AV cable doesn't work with my iPhone 3G (3.1.3)

Just purchased composite AV cable from apple store but it doesn't play videos on TV but audios only,
Is it firmware or my cable prlbme?

I used the original Apple composite AV cable with my iPhone 3G (OS 3.1.3) for a while and it worked fine for video playback in the iPod app. But after upgrading my iPhone 3G to iOS4 the cable stopped working. Video on my TV remains black and is shown on the iPhone's screen instead of the TV, and sometimes the iPhone tells me that this accessory is not designed to work with this iPhone. What did Apple do? Which receiver to go with?

I just bought Klipsch HD-500 speakers and now I am looking for a receiver. Ive narrowed my choices to the Onkyo TX-SR607 and Onkyo TX-SR707. The 707 model is the next level up but also a few hundred dollars more. I have a medium size living room with a 50 in Plasma, Blue Ray and my 5.1 Klipsch speakers. My questions are, is there a big difference between the 607 and 707 receiver? If so, what are the main differences and is it worth a few hundred dollars? Any additional info would be very helpful and much appreciated. Thanks!

You can go to Onkyo's web site and compare the two receivers and the 707 has a long list of features over the 607. If you can afford it I would get the 707. The THX Certified is going to make it worth it alone. Also the 10 Watts per channel will help alot with the movie sountracks, with 1080P upscaling, 6 HDMI ( Version 1.3a ) inputs with one up front make it real easy to run a camcorder through it. It has a long lost input called a Phono input. If you have or ever want to play LP'S ( records ), Vinyl, which by the way is making a comback. The list just keeps going on. Hope that helps.

IPhone 3GS with iOS 4 - Mail problems

Hi all,
Since I updated my iPhone 3GS with the lastest software, the iOS4, I've been experiencing problems with Mail: slow connection, the iPhone will freeze every now and then up to several minutes, the Mail app restarts several times, etc.
Is anyone experiencing this issues or is just me?

The issue I have had with te iOS4 is that my phone wont down load email..
I have it set to check for email every 30 min as I do use my iPhone for work purposes and since switching to iOS4 it has stopped getting my mail. For me to get it to restart I have to power the phone down and back up. But then it will only down load what is available and then it stops again until I power down/up next..
Other then that, battery life is greatly decreased! ugh, I thought it was bad before!!

H61M-E33 (B3) powers on then hangs and enters boot loop (new board)

Hi guys bought all the kit in my sig and I put it all together connecting to my screen via VGA on MOBO and powered up.
I get one long beep and a message on the screen
The top half details all my components and it looks like everything is detected properly
under that it says
all settings were reset to default values
Press F1 to setup
Press F2 to continue
If I press either the the system shuts down and restarts over and over with nothing making it onto the display.
It gets stuck like this so I reset CMOS and takes be back to square one (rinse and repeat)
I have tried
Reset CMOS
Re seat and change slot for RAM
Push RAM more firmly into socket
Swapped for tow different sticks of RAM I had
Disconnected everything from MOBO headers accept bare minimum ie power and PWR Switch
Removed board from case laid it on cardboard and tried again.
Every time same result
I don't know where to go from here
Any one got any ideas?

just an update sent this board back to supplier who said there was no problem but would send me a new board anyway.
New board arrived and looked like it was a newer addition so possibly has an updated BIOS. Anyway put it all together and worked like a charm.
No trying to connect to an Onkyo tx-sr607 receiver via HDMI but having big problems. With amp clicking and not getting sound to come through properly and no bit-streaming of DTS-HD
Do I need to use the realtek sound and drivers?
all the sound should go through the HDMI cable.
Anyone know of any settings I need to adjust?

IPhone 3GS IOS4 Internet stops responding using Safari. FIDO Network

Just opgraded to IOS4 and noticed that agter a couple uses Safari gets an error message saying that it can't load the page requested. After a couple reboots it workes fine. In a while it stops again and I have to reboot again to resolve the issue. Tried to find a work around but still no solution. The only change is the IOS4 and a couple of upgrades to some apps. The Issue was here before the app upgrades as well. When I check settings it seems to be connected to my network and I have 5 bars of signal. It just won't go to any sites in Safari or Google or and other browser I have tried. All worked fine before IOS4 upgrade.

Upgraded to 4.0.1 but still no iPhone in the interface list.
The error reads (in Console):

I am unable to update my iPhone from ios4 to ios7, I know you have to do this via the computer however the backing up process stops part way through and it is unable to carry on

I have ios4 on my iPhone 4 and I have tried to update it to ios7 and to do this I know you have do use the computer. however part of the way through, the back up process stops and nothing else happens

I would suggest that you tru and update through iTunes on your computer. Also, could you connect your computer up to the internet using a wired connection rather than wireless - this will be faster and more reliable, particularly when you need to download a large file.
Then try your update. This time, in iTunes, why not try to get it to download the sofware first (Download Only). You can then appy it to your iPhone later, once it has downloaded.

Audio stops when locking...after iOS4 of course!

Since my iOS4 upgrade, whenever I play music, the first time the iTouch goes into lock mode the music crackles and stops. I then have to unlock the iTouch and then it starts back again by itself. After that I do not have any issues.
Obviously this never happened pre-iOS4!!!
Anyone else having the same issue?

It's also happening to me. Even worse, I need to unplug the earphone and plug it back to get the music back. Then another thing that I just realized today that though I have turn-off the Itouch, but it will turn-on by itself after 5 minutes. Not know what to do to solve this problem. It's really unpleasant experience.

How can I stop iOS3 iPod Touch v1 apps being removed when iTunes updates apps with iOS4 apps

I have an iPhone 4 with iOS5 whilst my old iPod Touch Mk1 still runs on iOS3. My old iPod now rests in the handbag of my wife who will use the installed apps if she is near a wifi she can use. There is however an increasing problem in that wheras it is more than capable whilst running the old apps iTunes is automatically upgrading them as new versions are released and increasingly upgraded apps only support iOS4 +. The obvious answer of buying a new iPod does not compute, its a good iPod and despite years of regular use the battery life is more than reasonable and the iPod function wit h16gb is more than adequate so I refuse to commit it to the silicon graveyard yet ( i still run old G3 and G4 macs as servers and have an old Classic that still provides amusement at parties).
If however this automatic upgrade and trashing of old apps continues it will not be long before one day we sync the ipod and find it wipes al lthe apps off as they are no longer iOS3 compatible. Anyone ever found a way to protect the apps of an iOS3 device whislst all ipods are synced from the same iTunes user account?

There really is not god way. Whatyou migh consider it sonnecting the iPod to a different computer and transfering purchases to the computer. That way yu will still have the version of the apps that are compatible with the iPod.

At a later date if necessary you can delete the newer apps from the library of the syncing computer and put the older ones in and do what you want to the iPod.

IPod Touch stopped working after i upgraded it from iOS4.3.3 to iOS6. Now even if i restart my iPod it shows a iTunes symbol followed by a upward arrow mark and a USB symbol. I cannot find any solution for this particular problem in Help section.

But after a considerable amount of time it said my iPod could not be restored and stopped. iTunes has stopped to detect my iPod anymore. I tried to update iTunes 10.7 as requested in the website support page. But if I check for updates in iTunes it is detecting the available updates but not updating it when i click on the update button.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I updated my iOS4 to iOS5 , this stopped my phone so I again reverted to iOS4, during this process I lost all my photos which I never synchronised also all the data and applications , how can i recover my photographs atleast

I upgraded my Iphone ios4 to iOS5 but found that teliphone network was lost but all other applications were working.
Then I took some 600 photographs and then , which were good on the phone .Then in order to get phone working I reverted the operating system from 5 to 4 withoust taking backup of photographs .To my surprise All my data and photographs were lost.Is there any chance of recovering all my photographs and data .
Please help as the photographs are very important as these were taken during my vacations .

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but if you never synched the photos to your computer or some other source, they're gone.

TV Out Stops working after Upgrading to iOS4

I have upgraded to iOS 4 on a 2nd gen iPod touch, and TV Out has stopped working. I know the problem isn't with my TV or Video cable,　since my iPhone 3GS with iPhone OS 3.0 firmwware works perfectly with TV Out. So I dare not upgrade my iPhone 3GS.

I'm a fool. My iPod Touch hasn't powered off for weeks. After rebooting, it seems everything works fine including TV Out. By the way, I upgraded from iPhone 3.0 and it's almost a clean install as I clicked restore. Miraculously, instead of restoring, it upgraded to iOS 4.0.
The only issue is that the battery seems to be drying out faster.

IOS4 - Speakers stopped working be careful!

I recently downloaded the new 4.0 update for my iPod Touch 2nd Gen and went to play my iTouch through my speakers. They worked fine before but now it reads "Not supported by iPod". Nice Apple, nice.

Have you tried a manual reboot since the upgrade? My iPod stopped talking to my car stereo (the screen said Accessory Connected but none of the controls worked and the sound wasn't sent to the speakers) but after a reboot all seems to be well again.
This wouldn't be the first time Apple changed the specs and broke third-party accessories so a reboot is no guarantee, but it can't hurt.
